Web gallery without .Mac account

I am using the 30-day Aperture trial.
Is it possible to make and export a web gallery without owning a .Mac account ?
I just want to use the web gallery on my own web space.
Ben

Web Gallery is connected to .mac and can not be used to publish to other sites. However, you can make web pages and then export to SmugMug, Flickr, PhotoShelter etc. Web pages can also be exported to a folder on your system and then exported to your site.
You can also use iPhoto and iWeb in conjunction with Aperture and then export your galleries to other servers.
A little extra off topic info:
.mac users will automatically be upgraded to the new MobileMe as soon as it becomes available.

  • Can I create a web page without .Mac Account?

    Hi all,
Quick question: Is there any way to create a gallery for the web using iPhoto if you don't want or have a .Mac account? I have my own domain and hosting and I'd like to simply have iPhoto build the site, which I can upload to my own server.
I've found no information on this possibility and I suspect that it doesn't really fit into Apple's, uh.. non-freemarket business plan.
    Any ideas? Thanks in advance!

    Hi newworld border,
You sure can! Select the photos/album and go to Share>export
In the export window there is a web page button
hit that and set your options.
there is also a plugin for iPhoto called BetterHTMLExport for iPhoto on Mac OS X
This plugin gives you more choices for your web creation.

  • Publishing web gallery without .Mac

    Hello,
I finally have my portfolio all set up the way that I want it and would like to publish it. I don't want to have to use .Mac (and since it's replaced by MobileMe now). Is there a way that I can publish this portfolio using a free hosting server?
    Thanks!
    -Will

    Will,
In Aperture, Web Pages or Web Journals can be uploaded to any host site. The Web Gallery function, however, is limited to .Mac use; this is due to functions that are performed on the server and which are specific to .Mac.

  • Book printing and web exporting from Aperture without .mac account

can I export web logs and have apple books made without a .mac account?

A .Mac account is not required to order iPhoto or Aperture books from Apple or to publish an Aperture gallery to the Internet; in the second case, you will need a webserver to put the gallery on.

  • Enabling Web Gallery from ,Mac

How do I enable the Web Gallery feature the .Mac website so I have publish some pictures from my iPhone?

If you will search the iPhoto-Camera/Pictures forum, there are a number of threads outlining the steps.
    In summary:
    1) When viewing a picture on your iPhone, click the bottom left button (send button) and make sure you have the Send To Gallery button available
This button will ONLY be available if you have a .mac email account setup on your phone PRIOR to downloading the 1.0.1 iPhone update
    2) Make sure you have the iPhoto 08 update installed (web galleries will not work without the update)
3)Launch iPhoto, select a few photos, and click the Web Gallery button at bottom; Choose all the options include allow upload to Gallery, publish the gallery (if you don't choose allow upload, you will not be able to upload from the Iphone)
    4) Choose picture on iPhone, click bottom left send button, choose Web Gallery and send.
Again, there are MANY threads on this topic on the iPhone-Photos forum. This question does not involve iWeb in any way!

  • How to speed up loading of web gallery on .Mac??

On my .Mac web pages I have both web galleries created from iPhoto, and Photo Albums created from iWeb. All have been created from high res (8 MB+) image files. In iWeb I choose a smaller file size when uploading, to in turn get a faster loading when people view my site. However, I have not found a way to do this when creating a web gallery. Hence, my galleries load much slower than my albums. Am I missing something? Is there a way built into iPhoto (I have checked preferences with no luck), to make it upload/download reduced size image files? Thanks.

I was afraid of that. Thanks for taking the time to try it out. I guess I'll have to stick to Photo Albums if I want fast loading, but I really like the features of the gallery. Thanks again.

  • Enable encrypted iChats without .Mac account

I saw a few postings of individuals asking how to encrypt their iChat messages without the use of a .Mac account.
I ran accross the following that maybe helpful: http://www.macosxhints.com/article.php?story=20060215084902839

    Hi,
I see the item they talk about Off the Record is actually listed as early and incomplete on thier site.
Scroll down for the OS X Tiger version
    Also needs 10.4.2 at least.
One of the responders to the MacOSXHints thread seems to say that all it requires is a Certificate and hints that AIM already does one.
The Off the Record thing requires you get a Certificate from them and go through their Proxy. And that the people you are talking to also download the version for their OS.
Does anybody know anything about AIM issued Certificates ?

  • Syncing ical between 2 macs without .mac account, is it possible?

    Hi all,
I have an iMac and a Macbook Pro and want to be able to sync iCal over the 2 machines so that entries added/updated on one will appear on the other.
I don't have a .mac account and don't really want to get one as this is all I would be using it for. So is this possible without a .mac account?
The two computers are not yet networked (I think) however they do share the same broadband internet connection through the same Belkin router, so I presume I can connect the two through this way (that will be my next question!!!)
How is the easiest way to achieve this?
    Cheers,
    Andrew

take a look at busysync, I think that will help you achieve what you want to do with your two computers over a local network.

  • IChat without .Mac account

    Hi all,
How can I use iChat with a freind who does not have a .Mac account? Is it possible to have voice/video chats?
    Thanks,
    Ziv

Or you can use your Google Mail address, if you have one. So, yeah, it's that simple. If you have Google Mail, you can use iChat for free, and have video chats. Check out this article which explains how to set it up:

  • How to load an Aperture web gallery to .Mac?

I have tried following the instructions in the Late-Breaking News bulletin to no avail. I think it would help if I understood what I'm trying to do. I clicked on "Publish to .Mac" and after some minutes the gallery appeared to be sent somewhere but I don't have a clue where. Could someone explain to me in clear English what happens in the process of publishing to .Mac? Then maybe the instructions will make more sense to me.
    Thanks,
    John

    John,
The address can be seen under the "Publish Album As" name in the dialog box after you click "publish to .mac" button.
For example I want to "Publish Album As" Gallery1. The address will be "http://homepage.mac.com/username/Gallery1"
You could also group your Aperture created galleries by adding a directory when you assign "Publish Album As"
For example you want "Gallery1" to publish to a directory called "aperturegalleries". Simply type "apperturegalleries/Gallery1". The address will then be "http://homepage.mac.com/username/apperturegalleries/Gallery1"
    Hope this helps,
    Edwin

  • Does iWeb can be used without .Mac account?

For example, on any server via FTP or any other methods.
    Thanks

Yes, the problem is when the server forces the wrong encoding.
    http://homepage.mac.com/thgewecke/iwebchars.html
The page above does not fix the problem, it talks about the issue but does not solve it. And the pages that that page refers to talks about .htaccess file setup.
Many people are working on this issue and so far no solution.
IIS web servers may work fine, it's the unix servers using Apache that are not able to work with iweb. Line one of the code in all .html files is the problem. When I delete that line of code, the iweb pages work. This is not a good fix because everytime you update your website in iweb you would have to delete that first line of code again and again and again. The only fix is to figure out the proper .htaccess file encoding to get the server to read the files properly.
So far no one can do this.

  • Can't get Web Gallery button

I can't get the Web Gallery button on my iPhone. I do have iLife '08, .Mac account and published successfully albums to Web Gallery on .Mac from iPhoto. I followed the instructions how to transfer the albums to iPhone. I factory restored my iPhone and I restarted my iPhone. I'm up to date with my software. I use .Mac email account as default. I followed the discussions on this issue, which only some of you have, in iPhone forum. I still can't get the button on my iPhone and open the Web Gallery there.
    Milan

My Apple Mail account is .Mac. I can delete this account on iPhone and sync it back on iTunes without difficulties. The account works both on iPhone and my desktop. Web Gallery button doesn't show up no matter what I do. As a test I published new set of pistures to my Gallery. The album is on .Mac but I can't see it on iPhone because I don't have the button.
My approach to any issues is that I first blame myself and then Apple. I don't know what else I could do wrong to cause this problem. Still I believe it's a small hitch somewhere.
I appreciate your concern and help.

  • Web Gallery and iPhone Not Working

I'm getting the following message when attempting to use the "send to web gallery" button:
"None of your .Mac accounts have been configured for posting from mobile devices. You must first enable this feature on the .Mac website."
Others have been experiencing this as well, but I have yet to hear a solution.
I have my .mac email account associated with my iPhone and I have created a Web Gallery via .Mac using iPhoto '08.
Has anyone got this button to work successfully on their iPhone?

.Mac email can be set up two different ways on the iPhone. For "Send to Web Gallery" button to appear when clicking on the action button while viewing a photo, you must have your .Mac email set up as IMAP. This is the default setup for a .Mac email account.
If you take the time to manually set up your .Mac email as POP, then you will not have the "Send to Web Gallery" option and you will be unable to successfully email into your web gallery even if all else is set up correctly.
To check to see how you have .Mac email set up on your iPhone, go to the Home Screen, tap Settings, tap Mail, tap your .Mac account name, tap Advanced, move down on the page, and make sure you see "IMAP Path Prefix" setting (it can be blank and does not need to be changed). If the "IMAP Path Prefix" is there, then you do indeed have your .Mac email set up as IMAP on your iPhone.
If you do have it set up as a POP account, you can delete that mail account by selecting the red Delete Account button when viewing your email account as listed in Settings.
To add your .Mac email account as an IMAP account, from the Home Screen, tap Settings, tap Mail, tap Add Account..., tap .Mac, and fill out the fields with your information, tap Save and it will verify access to your .Mac email account.
