Web problem

Hi all
i work on oracle 9i developper suite
when i run the form run time the explorer run and then send me this message
Internet Explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.
could you help me
should I start or any instraction should do other than OC4J
thank you

I suggest you edit the DEFAULT.ENV file in the <ORACLE_HOME>\forms90\server directory and add the directory where you are saving your forms to the FORMS90_PATH entry. Most likely what is happening is that the OC4J can't find the Form you are trying to run so it displays an empty Java Applet window.
Hope this helps.

  • GIF/Save for Web problem (PSE 7)

I've tried searching for an answer to this problem but nothing seems to address quite what's happening.
I recently had to replace my laptop, and switched from Windows XP to Windows 7.  I transferred PSE 7 from the old system to the new system, and have had no trouble with it- until now.  I have a 52-layer Photoshop-format image that I would like to save as an animated .gif, with each layer as a different frame.  File >> Save As has the option to save Layers as Frames, but if I check it, then click "Save", nothing happens.  Nothing at all.  On my old system, I'd get a new dialogue with options like quality, duration per frame, loop, etc, but that's not happening anymore, and nothing saves (if I go to find the new .gif file, it's just not there). If I DON'T choose "Layers as Frames", the .gif dialogue comes up just fine, and it has no trouble saving as a static .gif.  But it seems that it's just refusing to save it in animated format.
I'm having the same issue with "Save For Web".  Neither the file menu option or the keystroke command will bring up the dialogue to let me save it that way.  It thinks for maybe a second, but then doesn't do anything else, and doesn't save the image.
I've already tried resetting the layout, just in case the dialogue box was shifted somewhere I just wasn't seeing, and I tried resetting the Save For Web preferences, but neither of those things worked.  Any explanation as to why an animated "Layers as Frames" .gif is the only format that isn't saving properly?
I've also tried opening old animated .gifs that I created with XP, and they will not re-save as animated .gifs either.  I get the "Do you want to save the changes made" dialogue, but clicking "Yes" doesn't do anything and doesn't save the updates.  I'm at a complete loss for why this function no longer works.

    Glad you got it working.
It takes some getting use to the differences between xp and windows 7
in regards to permissions and all that stuff. Even when you install
programs on an administrative account, problems still persist sometimes.
What i do is always install programs by right clicking on the installer and
choosing Run as Administrator even when installing on an account with administrative
permissions. I seem to have less problems doing it that way. Anyway, just something to
keep in mind for the future.

  • Save for Web problem

I am using 'fit artboard to selected items' feature and everything looks as it should be until I try to export them through Save for Web.
When I do that a one pxl feathered border appears on a file, like in example (border is on left and top of the image).
I can't seem to find what's wrong, so, pls, help!
I'm on MAC, using CS 5.1.

I am saving as .png 24 with transparency and not interlaced.
However, I tried other formats and I see the same problem in all of them.
When I look at the borders in Illustrator Workspace I don't see that feather, but I can clearly see it in preview for Save for Web.
And I also know that it's not the problem with my computer because all other colleagues (there's 8 of us) are having the same issue.
So, I made another example, using just the plain red square and, while in Artboard Tool, clicked on it and Workspace showed that it bounded to square perfectly, but it's not :/
Same transparent 1pxl column on the left and top of it.

  • Photoshop CS3 color management "Save for Web" problem

This problem is getting the best of me.......
After spending 3 full days researching this problem, I am no closer to finding an answer than when I started. I still cannot produce a usable image through the "Save for Web" feature of Photoshop CS3. I have read web page after web page of "Tips, Tricks and Recommendations" from dozens of experts, some from this forum, and still I have no solution... I am exhausted and frustrated to say the least. Here's the simple facts that I know at this point.
I have a web design project that was started in PS CS1. All artwork was created in photoshop and exported to JPG format by using "Save for Web". Every image displays correctly in these browsers (Safari, Camino, FireFox and even Internet Explorer on a PC).
I have recently upgraded to PS CS3 and now cannot get any newly JPG'd image to display correctly. My original settings in CS1 were of no concern to me at the time, because it always just worked, and so I do not know what they were. I have opened a few of my previous images in CS3 and found that sRGB-2.1 displays them more or less accurately. I am using sRGB 2.1 working space. Upon openning these previous image files, I get the "Missing Profile" message and of course I select "Leave as is. Do Not color manage". CS3 assumes sRGB-2.1 working space, opens the file, and all is well.
The problem is when I go to "Save for Web", the saturation goes up, and the colors change. The opposite of what most people are reporting. Here's another important point... new artwork created in CS3 does exactly the same thing, so it's not because of the older CS1 files.
I have tried every combination of "uncompensated color", "Convert to sRGB", "ICC Profile", etc. while saving. I have Converted to sRGB before saving, and my monitor is calibrated correctly.
I have tried setting the "Save for Web" page on 2-up and the "original" on the left is already color shifted before I even hit the "Save" button. Of course, the "Optimized" image on the right looks perfect because I am cheating by selecting the "Use Document Color Profile" item. Why do they even have this feature if doesn't work, or misleads you?
Does anyone have any ideas what could be happening here? Why is this all so screwed up?
CS1 worked fine out of the box.
Final note: I do have an image file I could send along that demonstrates how it is possible to display an image exactly the same in all 4 of the browsers I mentioned with no color differences. It is untagged RGB and somehow it just works.
I am very frustrated with all of this and any suggestions will be appreciated
    Thanks,
    Pete

    >> First of all... I'm using an Adobe RGB image master... I open it and get the Profile Mismatch Screen... I choose Use Enbedded profile... all looks well. Next I go to Proof Setup > Monitor RGB... again all looks well, no change that I can tell.
This has further confused the issue on several points, not the least of which version PS you are doing this with?
    >> AdobeRGB> Convert to Profile > Working Space sRGB-2.1... all still looks well... but now, when I go to Proof Setup > Monitor RGB... I see the insane oversaturated look that is driving me nuts.
That is your strongest clue...it sounds like you have a bad system or bad monitor profile. To rule out the monitor profile: Set sRGB as your monitor profile in System Prefs> Displays> Color.
    >> Adobe RGB image master... I open it and get the Profile Mismatch Screen... I choose Use Enbedded profile... all looks well. Next I go to Proof Setup > Monitor RGB... again all looks well
That doesn't make sense, stripping an embedded AdobeRGB profile should desaturate the color in Softproof MonitorRGB, especially the reds -- you have something wacky going on there.
At this point I think you need to review the links and get a grip about how color management and profiles work...
BTW, forget about setting ColorSync in PS COlor Settings, use Adobe ACE.
    MO,
I think SFW is fixed under CS3 :) By default it Converts to sRGB and strips the profile.

  • Adobe Photoshop Elements 2 and 'Save for Web' problem

    Hi everyone,
I have used Photoshop Elements 2 for some time with absolutely no problems. However when I try to use the save for the web option I get an 'export could not be completed due to a program error' message.
Nothing relevant is mentioned on Adobe's support site. After having gone through the usual 9 troubleshooting procedure I suspect that there is a problem with the 'Save for Web EL' plugin located in the PE 2 plugins folder. Has anyone else experienced this? Is there a way I can somehow find a functional plugin?
Thank you for reading this post.
    PowerBook G4 DVI 667   Mac OS 9.2.x

I don't use Photoshop elements myself, but from Photoshop CS it works fine. I use JPG compression and optimization. First of all - make sure the file format extensions are all available. Applications/adobe/photoshop elements/file formats AND ALSO Applications/adobe/photoshop elements/photoshop elements only/file formats (here I am assuming the paths are the same or similar to Photoshop). Also, check the extensions disabled folder (Control click on Photoshop and go to package contents). If it's none of these, I suggest you check the settings in Elements when trying to save and make sure you are not using an option that conflicts.
Also, check the Adobe forum. http://www.adobeforums.com
    Check for software upgrades also.
You do have enough hard drive space and RAM I assume. If you are using PS Elements and virtual memory is on, you may not have enough phsyical space to save the file (but not likely)
P.S. I see (after i wrote) that you are running 9.2.2 - so the paths will not be the same as if it was on OS X - but they will be similar.

  • N86 Web problems can't scroll down

I am hoping someone might be able to help me. I have an N86 and just upgraded the firmware to the newest release. I am having a problem with the web. It will not allow me to scroll down past a text input box. For example I tried to go to T-mobile.com and I can scroll down to the search box part of the page but can not get past that part whether or not I enter a search word. The cursor gets stuck in the search box even though I did not click on it to enter a search word. It was the same before updating the firmware. Anyone have any ideas? Does anyone also know if it's possible for me to get the web program from my N96 and install it on my N86? The N96 web is so much better than the N86's. The N96's web browser gives you the option to shrink the entire page or to zoom in on the page. It also has autofind for phone numbers, email addresses etc. The N86's web doesn't have anything like that, it's horrible.

Here's an option before taking your bb apart.  Squirt some Windex on a paper towel. Not much, say less than your thumbprint. Wrap it around your thumb.  Scroll left, right, up and down for 30 seconds or so each direction.  The cleaner coats the trackball .... the friction cleans the underlying elements.  Hey, I'm not joking. Worked for me.  Patent pending.  (NOW, I'm joking!)  Hope this helps someone.

  • IWeb publish to web problem

I've been trying all day to update my iWeb page and I keep getting this warning:
"An error occurred while publishing file “/Web/.Temporary Web Resources/10C8AEC0-0014-4260-B2A0-A6E624726E0B”. Try publishing again later."
Anyone know what that means? Is it a .mac server issue or something in my computer or the software?
    thanks in advance!

If you're publishing to a MMe account I'm guessing it's a server side issue. There are just too many cases of similar problems with users doing nothing to instigate it which clear up by them selves a day or two later.
As a work around mount your iDisk, go to the iDisk/Web/Sites folder. Then publish your site to a folder on the hard drive and upload the site folder manually. I use Web Site Maestro to optimize my sites on MMe and publish to a folder and use WSM to optimize and upload. It's fast and reliable.

  • BEx web problem after upgrade: hierarchy variable and OK button

    Hi experts,
we are busy in an upgrade project in which both portal and BW are being upgraded to 7.40.
After upgrading we find several problems in which we get stuck.
First problem: every query that has a variable on an infoobjects marked with a hierarchy does not work in Java Web.
As soon as we press the lookup button the browser freezes.
In ABAP web en Bex analyzer everything is OK.
Our release is BW 7.40 SP5. For the Java things we had to upgrade Bex web components to 7.40 SP6.20 (BW Java and portal system).
On OSS, SCN and google we cannot find any clues for this.
We are preparing the OSS call for SAP but maybe anyone of you experts has faced the same issue.
    Any advice is welcome.
    Second problem:
When a variable screen pops up and everything has been filled in, we have to press the OK button twice (instead of once).
The first OK does a check/validate and then returns to the screen instead of proceeding when check is OK.
Has 7.4 introduced a new setting we have to adjust for this?
Or might this be a bug?
    Thanx for your reactions.
    Marco

    Hi,
Regarding the variable screen button needs two click to execute, you will have to apply SP07 Patch 20 for only below 5  BI Java components for BI Java 740.
For BI Java 730 , SP12 Patch 10 will solve this issue
For BI Java 731,  SP12 Patch 20 will solve this issue
    This will solve your issue.

  • Photoshop CS6. Save for Web Problem - Don't remember folder location

    Hi!
Found one more problem with Save For Web in Photoshop CS6.
    Example:
    1. New Document
    2. Choose - Save for web
    3. In dialog window Photoshop CS6 offer to save in - os My Document Folder
    4. Ok, every time I don't really need to save in os folders - I save files to my folders. So, change folder ...for example to disc D
    5. Create another New document
    6. Choose Save for web
    7. And.... - Photoshop CS6 offer to save my file in os My Documents AGAIN !!!
So, in fact it's real uncomortable!!! ...if I save different files for web frequently ....I need every time change My Documents....it makes me nervous.......
Here - compare with CS3: CS3 remember "old" folder location even at another session (for example - after reload os)
Is there any fix this problem?
    p.s. Testing on:
    OS - windows 7 64 bit
    cs6 - 64 bit extended
    cs3 - 64 bit extended

Noel, Yes! In your example everything works like on your video. May be my explanation was not so clear, so...I'm trying to describe in more details.
I don't know how to make video & animated gif by capture the screen...so I'll try to explain by words
    1. Start CS6
    2. Make New Document
    3. Save for Web (save parametres are: JPEG, HIGH etc....I think it doesn't matter)
    4. CS6 offer "My Documents"
    5. Change the way to "Disc D"
    6. Save it by name for example "Untitled-1".... & close window "Save for web"
    7. Choose "Save for Web" again
....So, at this step - CS6 remember my current location "Disc D" even I open other file & use command "Save for web"...it saves to Disc D. Everything is ok.
    ....continue:
    8. Shut down the CS6
    9. Run it again
    10. Create new file or....even open saved file on disc D in previous session - "Untitled-1"
    11. Save for Web
So, it's final: CS6 offer the "My documents" AGAIN
    ....continue:
    12. Run CS6 - Make New File - Save for Web to disc D by name "Untitled-1"
    13. Keep the photoshop session & create new document...let's call it "Untitled-2" - so, now I have 2 files opened in CS6: "Untitled-1" (it was saved on disc D before) & new "Untitled-2"
    14. So if I'll try to save second file "Untitled-2" fo web CS6 offer the way "My documents" AGAIN!
p.s. Tryied to do the same on CS3 - Shut down CS3 2-3 times, opened different files, create new docs - there's no trouble. In global - CS3 remember last way (in my case it's "Disc D") & doesn't change it by itself. In fact working in CS3 I din't feel any problems with this command "Save for Web", that's the reason I didn't write any questions on forums etc..... But starting to try CS6 I really feel it makes the work to change every time the folder ways not so comfortable...so I wrote the question here
p.s. 2    In spite of I didn't work in CS4-CS5 cause it were not comfortable in my opinion....now I wanted to  test "save for web" in CS5. Trouble is the same even during one session:
    1. Run CS5
    2. Create new document
    3. Save for web - CS5 offer "My Dociment", change it to "disc D" - save - ok
    4. Shut down, run CS5 again
    5. Create New, or even Opened old saved file to disc D (for example from step 3) - CS5 offer the way "My documents" again
I hope this my explanation was more clear to understand

  • Save for web problem for transparent gaphics

    hi!
savng any transparent graphic in " save for web&.." the transparancy of original file is shown much more opaque/darker and so it will save in png file.
iattached file where you can see red box with 40% opaciy , but when opened in save for web it looks more like 60% opacity.
i found solutions of some problems for color shifting in save for web , but none of them solves my problem.
    Any ideas?

All is not as hopeless as it seems just a bit hidden in CS 3 and earlier in CS 4 the mystry was brought to the frnt though not really document as far as I know.
The problem is simple to correct and has a logical reason why it is manifesting itself this way.
In CS 3's  Save for Device and Web there is a small triangle at the top left had corner on the image display window that offers you a choice between the default and the problem uncompressed color, Macintosh color, Windows color and Document Color Profile which is what you are looking for since that is what you expect to match.
There is also the option to convert to sRGB which what the web basically displays well. Which is located on the upper right corner of the dialog also a drop down.
I hope this helps you find your way it used to drive me a bit crazy myself till I took a really close look at the dialog.

  • Help   Save for Web problem    PE9  default gif setting

I have a 64 bit PC with Windows 7. PE9 and problem is when I "Save for Web" as a jpg....everytime I save a file it defaults back to the gif everytime. I want the default to be JPG!!  I never use gif for anything.  Pain in the rear to change the drop and setting to jpg everytime. I have a call tag in with no help yet, and have reinstalled PE9.Thanks in advance. Ray

It’s usually due to incorrect permissions settings on the OS.
Open Windows Explorer and navigate to:
    C:\Program Files\Adobe
Locate the Photoshop Elements 9 folder (the one with the blue PSE logo)
Right click on that folder and choose Properties - then click the security tab and make the following changes:
    1. Click on the edit button to change permissions.
    2. Click Add and type the word “Everyone” in the Object names Box (without the quotation marks) and click OK.
    3. Under group/User Names select everyone so that it becomes highlighted.
    4. Put a check mark in the box against Allow Full Control and click Apply.
N.B. for Windows 64 bit navigate to Program Files (x86)
PSE should now remember you last settings rather than reverting to the default settings.

  • Diagnosing output PDF-for-Web problems?

Where I work, we accept PDFs from clients (most using InDesign) and do a conversion so their magazines are accessible via devices like the iPad. Since our software converts pages to images, all layout is preserved. Our online reader allows magazine visitors to zoom in, so page resolution has to be about 144 pixels. We have one unhappy client who insists that we've done something different with their most recent two magazines that has caused degradation in quality. I've zoomed in on an image in one of their older magazines and its most recent version in a newer edition, and confirmed that the recent version looks pixelated and has excessive contrast/saturation. However, 1) None of our other clients have this problem despite their magazines being run through the same software, and 2) the settings inside our software have not been changed in more than a year.
I figure I have two options. Either look at the PDFs they sent us and figure out what they're doing wrong (their graphic designer has limited experience) or find a spec sheet somewhere that lists the best InDesign PDF output settings to use for Web reading (including retina screens), and send those settings to their designer.
Problem is, I don't know how to analyze a PDF, and my search for the optimum InDesign output settings leads me down several different roads. Can't really test it myself because we rarely use InDesign at our end.  Suggestions?

Why not run a preflight check in Acrobat Pro? You can set up a check for images of less than x ppi.

  • Transfering from print to web problem

My graphics person created a lot of great stuff for my business. She's not a website person, but gave me soem photo's so that I could code (I can hand code) them for the site.
But we're having a problem and I'm hoping someone can explain to me/her why it's happening. We're at a loss.
I have a temlate for my sites, however, I wanted it to be wider than it is. But we're having two problems that I don't understand ☺
What I'd like to do is tell her how to fix it :)
Basically she creates a graphic and then we need to cut it so that it download quicker on the web.
The file is created in adobe illustrator, then the file is rasterized to work with in adobe photoshop. The slices are then made in photoshop and saved for the web.
So that should be AOK... BUT>>>
    Two problems occur:
One problem is the colors shift slightly when the file is converted to photoshop so the background of the file doesn't match up with the background of the website.
The other problem is that in the process of transferring the image from one type to another ends up somehow a lot of code is embedding into the image when it is saved for the web. What that does is make the photo size humungous.
For a sample see the header in http://www.businessandmarketingplan.elevatingyourbusiness.com
Just a little of the code that gets imbedded into the graphic is:
    GIF89aî z Ä ÿÿÿòòøæçêÒÓßäÑ|¿¿¿¶¶ÜÓ´.¦§§Ì|y'}#pv¶fff^^®FH¢JMP!J'I:533 7o'(

    ? EÚ
    Thanks in advance,
    Maria

Maria, the color mismatch is discussed here so frequently it is hard to get anyone to address it completely anymore.
Just looking at the header image, I see the designer did not embed a profile, which is one thing she has done right. Now what she needs to do is be sure the image is never being converted to a profile at any point as she works on it in Illustrator or Photoshop.
Illustrator CS3 will convert to sRGB on export from Save for Web under some circumstances: specifically, if she saves the image as a jpeg (and leaves the option enabled)... but since she is doing further work in Photoshop I hope she isn't saving to jpeg on the first save.
Illustrator CS2 and earlier will lighten PNG images when you Save For Web to PNG... I wonder if that is what she might be doing.
Photoshop can easily convert an image to a different color space on opening, depending upon your color management policies. So we'll have to know more about what she is doing before we can tell you what is happening, unless she can figure it out from the general comments I have made.
I'm not sure what you are talking about when you say there is extra code being embedded. It just looks like a standard GIF header so far.

  • PSE9 'save for web' problem

On PSE9 when i click 'save for web' i get the message: 'could not complete the
Export command because of a programe error'. I have tried re-installing but to no effect. This is the third time i have asked this question. is there no help available or is it a silly question or not enought information? Please help someone!

    Hello Mike,
I think the latest camera raw is 6.4 but I doubt if that would make much difference to your problem.
If I use an image which has too many pixels, I get this error:-
If you use your full size one, I would expect that you should also get it. So if you aren't seeing that then I suspect there must be a problem accessing the image. I suppose that you have plenty of free disk space? How much memory (RAM) do you have?
You have tried re-installing PSE - did you disable any antivirus application when you did it? I don't have problems with antivirus suites but some of them might cause a problem.
You can probably guess that I am struggling to suggest the cause of your problem.
One other thing that sometimes work is to create a new account on your PC to see if that still suffers the same problem.
I'm hoping that someone else can jump in with some help.

  • Export to Web Problem in Safari

When you use Lightroom to export a website, it creates jpegs with an sRGB profile. Problem is that Safari always mis-renders images with profiles. This is a widely known problem among all web developers, and the normal solution is to export images with NO color profile, even if you have created them in sRGB color space.
But while you can export jpegs out of Lightroom and ask for no color profile, when you export a website it ALWAYS attaches profiles to the jpegs. So all Mac Safari users will see bizarre colors.
What I do is to run a Photoshop action that resaves the jpegs with no profile. Works fine, but why should I have to do this?
This paragraph contains me blowing off steam: Why does Apple put out a browser that misrenders color, and why does Adobe put out a product that creates web galleries that have big problems on Mac Safari. (86% of art directors use Mac Safari.)

    >To win this argument, Jonathan, create a web page with two images filled with a single RGB color. Save one with a profile, and one without.
Yeah I already refuted this argument above. It is irrelevant for photographic images, except when you want to coordinate an image with a CSS color which is extraordinarily rare. For photographic images you want the correction for gamma to happen on Macs. We are on a forum here for a tool that is 99.99% a tool for photographers.
    >In Firefox, the page will render with the correct values,
The next version of Firefox will color manage tagged images by default. This is a very very important step for photographers that care about the display of their images. More and more consumers use laptops with narrow gamut displays and more and more use wide gamut (the DELLs and samsungs and the HDTVs people hook up). These come, even in windows, with reasonable display profiles. It's even more important if your audience includes Macs which are all calibrated at the wrong gamma from the factory. COlor management in Safari and Firefox corrects for this.
    >I can not tell my customers that Mac Safari users will see bad results
And you should not because you would be wrong. Safari Mac users that do not calibrate see better results when you include the sRGB profile then when you don't. This is very basic and is the reason why Safari color manages to start. If you have a graphics element that needs to coordinate with CSS colors, leave the profile out. But for photographic images, attach the profile or they will look washed out on Macs. Again elementary.
    >To restate: I have viewed this test page at the Apple store on scores of monitors, and Mac Safari shows the wrong colors for all profiled JPEGS. And the non-profiled JPEGS also work fine on Firefox and IE on PCs.
Not true. Use a photographic image, not an artificial color ramp! For example an image of a colorchecker if you must, but a simple photograph will work fine. The only way to get it to look correct on uncalibrated Macs using Safari is to attach the sRGB profile. Your image has colors that very few photographs actually have and the gamut of most Apple laptops is below sRGB. What you see is color clipping because of the narrow gamut. On a wide gamut display, the tagged image will be the only one looking completely correct and the untagged image will look horribly oversaturated.
