Web Server Aliases not working!!

I have set up a virtual domain "internal.blahblah.com" within that I have setup Web Server Aliases. However, I cannot get them to resolve for the life of me! I tried somthing as simple as * . No go when I enter "server.internal.blahblah.com". Anyone else having these problems? Any solution?

It's not clear from your post what you're trying to do, or what you've done so far.
Let me see if I can decode...
I have set up a virtual domain "internal.blahblah.com"
OK, so this is a 'Site' in Server Admin -> Web, right?
However, I cannot get them to resolve for the life of me
Define 'resolve', please. Do you mean 'resolve' as in DNS name resolution, or 'resolve' as in access the web site, even when DNS is properly configured?
I tried somthing as simple as *
Umm.. where have you entered *?
In DNS? In your web server?
If in the web server config, are you using 'Alias' (a URL remap) or 'ServerAlias' (a secondary name for the server)?
No go when I enter "server.internal.blahblah.com".
'server.internal.blahblah.com' is in no way related to 'internal.blahblah.com'. In order for this to work you need to have a DNS entry for 'server.internal.blahblah.com' that points to your server - hence the question regarding DNS above.

I don't check my site often but it isn't working today for some reason. On Airport extreme base station, I checked and the address is correct but it just will not connect. Get error message saying it timed out. Any suggestions? This is on my G5 tower.

    Hi Connie.
This 65.xx.xx.xx address that you're trying to reach - that's the address you tell your friends to come see your pages, right?
And that address - -is that how you're trying to see your pages from within your little network?
What happens when you use the local IP address that BDaqua talks about?
Trying to view your website using the WAN IP address often fails from inside your LAN. it's called loopback, I think, and that doesn't work with most consumer routers.
Also-Did you already toggle the Personal WebSharing tickbox I asked about a few hours ago?
    Reboot the mac?
(You know we could go look at your httpd access and error logfiles, but let's not quite yet).
(You could also post the IP address so someone 'out here' could help analyze the error code. Or you could be paranoid. Either way

    thanks in advance..
    Jitendra

    Hi,
I got solution to my problem of webservice is not working in CF8.
    the problem was
we have already a "rt.jar" file in a location and we defined this location in CF Admin >> java jvm >> classpath
    so this file was conflicting.
i simply removes this file path from CF Admin.
    and restart the CF services.
and my web service start working.

Well the error message is in Swedish but says: The installation program database is damaged. Please contact the Adobe support (which is a hard thing to do!!). I use Windows 7 Home Premium with service pack 1.

    Hello all,
I have a problem not sure what causing it or what is the source of it as I am not into WSUS that much...
    THe status is as follows:
I have 1 server 2008 sp2 RTM x64, I had WSUS 3.0 SP2 on it since a while, it was working fine until a week ago, when I started receiving the below messages in the event viewer
I have spent too much time trying to trace or troubleshoot this issue, but all I got was to check the registry and check permissions on the temp folder and other folders, I have done complete removal with the database for the old WSUS and reinstalled it
again but I got the same problem
Nothing strange and no problems happened on the server perior to this issue, it just happened...

So, in reality, this issue has nothing at all to do with "it was working; now it is not", because you've destroyed all of the evidence that would exist in a "was working; now is not" scenario. What we really have here is a NEW installation that has failed.
So, from the perspective of a NEW installation that is not working...
Are there any other roles, features, services, or applications installed on this server?
Did you install the Web Server Role exactly as described in the documentation?
Did you install the WSUS Role exactly as described in the documentation?
Were there any other roles, features, services, or applications installed onto this server
after your original (working) installation of WSUS?

Oh, well, I have red and followed the documentation exactly step-by-step on the technet library, and I can guarantee you nothing went wrong because this is not my first installation for it
When I told you about the old damaged installation and the new installation which is also failed and showed me the same symptoms as the old one, I was sure that nothing wrong with the WSUS itself, but rather it is something wrong with the environment
Answering to your above questions, the answer for all is that: that server is only used for WSUS, nothing more
Anyway, I have managed to restore the service thanks to your previous reply where you point to the CONFIG folder inside the NET framework folder, I checked the files in there, some were changed to the date I think has stopped the service, so I repaired the
    NET framework 2, and restarted
It is working fine now and syncing with the update server

  • 12002 The Reporting Web Service is not working.

    Hi :)
I have WSUS on Windows Server 2012 std. with Internal Database. Today I've installed 7 updates from patch tuesday and after restart I've got
error 12002 The Reporting Web Service is not working
I can see now that updatet clients can not report their status anymore :(
    What's up ? Any suggestion ?
    Best regards
    Nenad

    Hi,
I would start by verifying that the /ReportingWebService resource is properly configured in IIS.
Correct configurations can be found in the WSUS Technical Reference Guide: IIS
Settings for WSUS 3.0 SP2 Web Services.
    Also,Under ReportingWebService
Made sure all were set to disabled except for Anonymous Authentication
    Anonymous Authentication Enabled
    ASP .NET Impersonation Disabled
    Basic Authentication Disabled
    Forms Authentication Disabled
    Windows Authentication Disabled

  • Local Web Server No Longer Working In ML

    Hello,
Previous to updating to Mountain Lion, I had my Imac set as a local web server and everything worked fine. After updating to ML, I no longer have local web server access. Also seems that my /etc/apache2/users/USERNAME.conf is gone? Do I need to reset all the files I configured prior to installing ML?
    Thanks JR

    I created a new ect/apache2/users/currentuser.conf with
    <Directory "/Users/username/Sites/">
          Options Indexes MultiViews
          AllowOverride All
          Order allow,deny
          Allow from all
    </Directory>
But now when I try to view a current site on the Mac, it just lists out the php code and not the page?
    Thanks JR

  • WSDL causing CF server to not work

    Hello all,
I have a strange situation that I am not sure how to fix.  I have a website that uses web services on a different server than what the site is hosted on.  Recently the CF server was not working properly.  We rebooted it and it worked for about a minute then crapped out again.  We found that the webservices on the other server had been stopped for some reason.  Once those were turned back on, the CF server was able to run everything just fine and would not freeze up at all.  The problem is that the web services can sometimes shut off like that, and it causes our main website to stop functioning until the web service server is rebooted and/or the webservices get turned back on.  I am curious if anyone has experienced something similar and knows of a solution.  I am not sure why the web services not running could cause the CF server to completely crap out.  If anyone has any advice as to how to protect the main site, that uses ther CF server, from breaking if the web services get shut off or that other server goes down.  I understand that parts of the site that use the web services would not work, but I can't have the rest of the website break bc the web services are not avilable for a small portion of the site.  We use a URL to connect to the web service, like below.  Any help would br appreciated.  Thanks.
    ws = createObject("webservice", "#Application.WsURL#/CustomerProfile/services/CustomerProfilePort?wsdl");

Is your mother on an Auto Pay Plan or does she use a charge card to pay for the $100.00 ? I know this will not make any sense but in plan booklet it states  and I will print exactly what its says "  You will forfeit the money in your account if you have activated service without a Refill Card and did not make an outbound call within 60 days."  I always use a prepaid card and have not made a call within the 60 days and have never been cancelled.  I'm not sure what that means but you might want to check with customer service and see if they can give you any details.  Is the money from before August still showing up in the account?

    Hello Manishshakya,
I see that you are having problems with the webcam on your computer. The unit you have is a HP commercial unit.
I would suggest posting your problem in the HP Commercial Forum as well. There are more users with the computer you have on this board and it is specific to your computer.
