Web service in OSB

Hi All,
I am brand new to OSB, i was giving a schema to develop a web service with in OSB. How do i start? what are the steps? Please help its urgent.

Hi,
Use OEPE - Oracle Enterprise Pack for Eclipse:
Create a new OSB project and configuration
Create a new XML Schema - paste your schema
Create a new WSDL file
Make your operation input be the desired type in your schema
Create a proxy service based on your WSDL
I think you can go from there, welcome to the OSB world.
Cheers,
Vlad

  • How to develop web services in OSB using Eclipse OEPE

    Hello,
We have some live web services developed in SOA ESB using JDeveloper.
We are now forced to migrate to OSB because of the reason that sometime next year ESB will be de-supported by Oracle.
I am looking for some good documentation which explains how to create web services in OSB using Eclipse. Please help.
I am installed Web logic + OEPE + OSB in my local machine already. All I need is to know how to start development.
    Thanks,

  • How to control transactions (WS-AT) between two web services in OSB?

Could someone tell me if the OSB can have 2 diferents web services controlled by an unique transaction?
For instance: in the OSB there are two wsdl, each one with its own Business Service and ProxyService respectively. In my vb.net aplication I started a transaction, called the first web service succefully and from the second web service I got an exception. I expected the first web service undo its work because the vb.net aplication excute a rollback command. Is this possible? How can I do? Any sample or tip will be helpfull.
If I was developing without OSB, I would rely on WS-AT as shown in http://www.codeproject.com/Articles/38793/6-Steps-to-Enable-Transactions-in-WCF for two web services dot net, or for one web service dot net and other java, http://www.ibm.com/developerworks/websphere/library/techarticles/0707_lo/0707_lo.html.
My question is basically: Is still possible to keep a single transaction between multiple web services when they are mediated by OSB? If so, is there a example showing how?

    Hi,
When you create the proxy server, you have to check "Transaction required" box on Message Handling page...

  • How we can call asynchronous jax-ws web services in OSB 10g r3?

    Hello everybody,
We're using the Oracle Service BUS 10.3 here, and we'd like to make some calls from business services to web services in some asynchronous way.
We know Jax-ws provides the callback way and the pooling async way to call it, but as this kind of "operations" are generated in the service consumer stub (and our service consumer rigth now is the OSB itself through the Business Service), we are trying to discover how Oracle Service BUS would use this async feature.
IMHO, the callback approach would be better, since the response pipeline itself should be trigged when the response is ready.
Is the OSB 10.3 ready to use async calls with Jax-WS or we should continue using Jax-Rpc with soap over xml to solve this issue?
    Thanks!
    Edited by: lucas.teixeira on 26/05/2009 05:05

It is important to remember that in our situation here, we'd like to use the Jax-Ws specification. We could use the Jax-RPC and call our service using the JMS transport and the @WLJmsTransport, we know, but this is out of our plans, since the WL implementation of it will enqueue every requisition in just one consumer for the WS.
Anyone can help us calling async jax-ws services from the OSB ?
    Thanks!

  • Invoke External HTTPS Web Service from OSB 11G

    Hi,
We have a requirement to invoke a HTTPS web service hosted by third-party and we have to send HTTP basic authentication detials also.
Third party given us the HTTP basic authentication details and only certificate nothing else.
After some research service account can be used for basic authentication and service key provider for https requirement.
But before service key provider creation there are steps to import the certificate into weblogic server and do some config steps (PKI cred mapping and all )I have gone through the forums but i am new to OSB and SSL i could not understand.
Can some one help with detailed steps.
    Thanks in Advance
    Srikanth

You can simply use "Execute Script" operation in Workbench and make use of java.net.URL. Below links should help :

  • Failed Calling A X.509 Certificate Secured Web Service From OSB

    Hi,
I have wsdl resource, business service and proxy service setup in OSB 11.1.1.6 on Linux. The business service will consume a X.509 certificate secured web service running on a remote server.
    Below is my approach:
The consumer of the proxy service of OSB signs its saop request header.
My OSB proxy service authenticates the signature and forward the request to business service.
The business service signs the outbound soap request header. (To do this I configured the keystore in Security Provider Configuration of my SOA_domain in Enterprise Manager. Also I applied Web Service Policy of Service Client type to the business service.)
This is not working yet. Not sure if my approach is correct or not?
    Thank you,
    Eric

I validated the keystore, all the certificates used and the value for keystore.sig.csf.key / value for keystore.recipient.alias. They are all as expected. Restarted the server. Still failed for OSB to invoke the remote secured web service, but worked if only use soapUI to invoke the same remote secured web service directly.
    The error message is:
General security error (WSSecurityEngine: No crypto property file supplied for decryption); nested exception is org.apache.ws.security.WSSecurityException: General security error (WSSecurityEngine: No crypto property file supplied for decryption)
In the soap request / reponse message shown in the OSB Test Console, there seems to be two signature sections in the header and encryption section although I tried not to encrypt the soap request. I am using Web Service Client Policy "calpers/wss11_x509_token_with_message_integrity_client_policy_osb" which was created based on "oracle/wss11_x509_token_with_message_protection_client_policy". The difference between the two policies is my policy not to sign nor to encrypt entire body.
In the "Message Signing Setting" section, I unchecked the "Include Entire Body" and left the three default namespaces under the Header Elements.
In the "Message Encrypt Setting" section, I unchecked the "Include Entire Body" and also left the one default namespace under the Header Elements.
I don't know how to attach document here, so i add long saop message here.

  • How to create asynchronous web services in OSB 11g?

    Hi,
Using the workbench, when I try to create a web service from an existing WSDL, the workbench automatically uses JAX-WS.
JAX-WS does not offer support for asynchronous web services, since it supports only HTTP ports (@WLJmsTransport does not work).
Request your help in resolving this issue. One way is to use JAX-RPC but I do not know how to configure the workbench to use JAX-RPC instead of JAX-WS.
    Thanking you in advance.

Just now we have upgraded our OSB to 11gR1 (11.1.1.4.0) .
My system configuration is Windows 7 Proff 64 bit.
For the same kind of issue i have found a solution in the below thread.
Read time out when accessing .NET Web service from OSB 10.3 proxy
But there He mentioned like this : I had installed the x64 version of JRockit, but had not installed all the 64 bit components for WebLogic 10.3g.I was able to find the 64 bit IO dlls, and once installed, the errors no longer occurred.I am not sure about the mentioned *64Bit IO dlls*.
Any one Please help me to resolve the issue.
    thanks in advance,
    chandra

You need to download the 64bit version of weblogic installer and use a 64 bit jdk when installing weblogic. This will make sure the 64 bit ddl's are generated for you..The generated native libraries will be in Oracle_HOME/wls_103/server/native/<OS> folder.. You can check this directory whether 64 bit ddl's are available after you fix the problem.

  • Getting Timed out exception while calling a web service

    Hi,
when i am invoking a web service(using routing), the osb proxy is getting timed out before receiving the response from routed service.
Also we are not aware of how much response time the routed service will take. so apart from increasing the connection time is there any alternate solution?
    can any one suggest.

I do not think there is any other way apart from increasing timeouts to call a web service from OSB synchronously which is taking a long time.
Other alternatives are either to make the service asynchronous delyed request response type, which will mean a change at the backend webservice.
Ideally synchronous web services are designed to respond within a few seconds and not take minutes for processing. I would say that if the backend web service is taking more than a minute then they need to either tune their service performance better so it responds faster OR change it to an asynchronous service.

  • Is it possible to call a Web Application from OSB Business Service

    Hi,
Is it possible to call a Web Application that has URL - http://host:port/parse.php using a business service in OSB?
What I have seen is it is able to call the service but the data we are sending that is the string in the form of the URL encoded data is not going there. Any help would be appreciated.

Any help would be appreciated. How did you configure your BS. My guess is some thing to do with what your BS is configured and what the Back-end is expecting? HTTP Get Vs HTTP Post

  • Error while invoking web services from Proxy services in OSB

I have a Proxy Service of message type in Oracel Service Bus 10gR3 and it passes the incoming messages from a JMS Queue to Business Service of Web Services type. This Web Service is hosted in Glass Fish v3 and it's binding style is RPC. The JRE used in both the servers are 1.6.0_20. The JMS message is of Text type. The Web Services at the Glass Fish throws MessageCreationException for any content of the JMS message. However, it works fine if Business Service's test client is invoked from the OSB'S Admin Console. However, the same will not work if Proxy Service's test client is called.
The detailed exception stack is given below :

Let me explain what I am trying to achieve. Our application receives data from multiple sources - from mainframe using FTP, JMS Queue and BPM application using Web Services. The data from all these sources are sending to a Web Service running in GlassFish V3. To handle this I have created three Proxy Services and one Business Service on OSB. The Business Service is of type Web Service using the same WSDL from the target Web Service.
The Proxy Services are configured as follows:
Proxy 1 (type - Messaging service) listens to the JMS Queue and receives JMS Text Message -> Business Service(B1) (Web Service).
Proxy 2 (type - Messaging service Polls files from the FTP Server -> Business Service(B1) (Web Service).
Proxy 3 (type - Web service) is invoked by the BPM application and sends a String -> Business Service(B1) (Web Service).
All the Proxies route to the same Business Service - B1 which calls the Web Service in GlassFish. The only Proxy that works fine is Proxy 3 which is created using the same WSDL of the Web Service. In the other two proxies it thows the same exception in GlassFish as I mentioned before.
com.sun.xml.ws.protocol.soap.MessageCreationException: Couldn't create SOAP message due to exception: XML reader error: com.ctc.wstx.exc.WstxEOFException: Unexpected EOF in prolog at [row, col {unknown-source}]: [1,0] at com.sun.xml.ws.encoding.SOAPBindingCodec.decode(SOAPBindingCodec.java:359)
Is this configuration correct to achieve my requirements?
Once again thanks for the help.

  • How to implement 2-way SSL in OSB web services

    Hi ,
I need to implement secured SSL communication in my OSB web services . For this I have used the self signed certificates in weblogic console and configured them .
I also enabled the https parameter in my proxy service but now when I am trying to open the proxy wsdl in browser it says unauthorised access.
Even in SOAP UI when I am trying to access it says "Error loading wsdl" .
    Please help.

    Hi,
Do you have created a Service Key provider and attached the same to proxy service.
Oracle Service Bus verifies that you have associated a service key provider with the proxy service and that the service key provider contains a key-pair binding that can be used as a digital signature.
