Webcenter Sites: Mobility Server download

Hi All, I'm following the manual to install Mobility Server;

but I have not the installation package with the script install.sh, mobilityserver.tar.gz, etc ...
How I can download it?

Hi all,
I am trying to evaluate if "WebCenter Sites Mobility Server" adapts to the requirements of a new project. I have been reading the documentation intensively but I have not been able to find the answers to the two questions below.
1) Is it possible to use Site Studio for External Applications with WebCenter Sites Mobility Server?
2) Is it possible to use workflows with Mobility Server so that a contributor can accept or reject changes?
Any help would be really helpful.

You can not use SSXA or SiteStudio with Mobility Server. Also deep workflow integration is not there.
You should think about Mobility Server as a preview and publishing extension of Sites. You would create and approve all your assets in WebCenter Sites the way you normally would. Mobility Server accesses those assets via REST but uses it's own pubishing model to deploy the mobile site. It's integrated to via REST and the Preview UI (which sits in the Sites container as a App next to the contributor interface). That is the extent of the integration we have today.

Webcenter Sites 11g: Mobility server installation issue!!

Hi ,
I am trying to setup Webcenter Sites Mobility Server standalone ( Webcenter Sites CS and CAS up and running).
I am facing some issue, trying to setup the same. Can anyone pls. help me on the same?
I am getting the folloing error in the apache log -
File does not exist: /opt/MS/msadmin/web/adminpanel/allProperties, referer: http://admin.ms1.coedomain.com:8001/
The default properties are not getting populated on the MSADMIN UI.
It says "Loading..." but never loads.
I can see them in the database but not getting populated on the msadmin UI.
The mapper url http://admin.ms1.coedomain.com:8001/mapper is also throwing 404 error.
I can see the modules present under "/var/www/html/mobilityserver/apps/frontend/modules".
Can anyone pls. let me know that apart from the installation steps mentioned in the Installation guide did I need to do anything else ?

Yes I have followed the same document.
I have followed the steps exactly as mentioned in the document ( Only I have configured OCI and its working fine).
At the end I ran the below command to test-

Do you have any file named "allProperties" under "adminpanel " directory?
Probably because of this its not able to load the properties.

Not able to Install Webcenter site 11g R1 (11.1.1.6.0) in my local PC

1. I downloaded hsqldb 2.2.8 and set up the database, the connection properties are
     TYPE      :     HSQL Database Engine In-Memory
     Driver     :     org.hsqldb.jdbc.JDBCDriver
     URL     :     jdbc:hsqldb:mem:.
     USER     :     SA
     Password:
2. I started the database server and created a sample table 'emp'.
3. Downloaded tomcat 6.0.35 and in context.xml i did the below entry to make the hsqldb connection, and copies hsqldb.jar into lib folder of Tomcat

4. In catalina.properties i setup the classpath for cas.properties or else the tomcat throwing the error saying not able to identify cas.properties.

5. From oracle i downloaded ofm_sites_generic_11.1.1.6.0_disk1_1of1.zip i extracted all the content
6. To install the webcenter site content server, i clicked csInstall.bat under C:\Sri\FatWire\ContentServer
7. It started and installing the server upto 70% then a dialog box pop up with the following message
          Do not click OK until you have completed all of the following steps:
          1. If your platform requires you to manually deploy the Oracle
          WebCenter Sites application, deploy Oracle WebCenter Sites now. Otherwise,
          continue with step 2.
          2. If you wish to customize your Oracle WebCenter Sites installation
          and require access to Oracle WebCenter Sites's property files,
          click the Property Editor button.
          3. Restart your application server.
          4. Click Test to test your installation and make sure all tests
          are successful.
          5. If the tests are successful, click OK.
8. Then when i click Test button, i got the following messages

Hi Tony,
I don't have mac o/s so am using Windows XP. I tried to open "Download the scripts and instructions here" from your blog but
it is opening a new window in the browser with some gybrish characters.
Here is what i did, as i explained it in my earlier post, now also i am facing the
same issue while setting up the server in GUI mode but in the log file it is showing
different exception now compare to the earlier one. I will explain the step by step approach of mine
1. start the Hsqldb2.2.8 in webserver mode (will the latest version cause any issue here?)
2. started the tomcat 6.0.35
3. As explained it in oracle site document for "installing webcenter sites in Tomcat" i did
the below changes
1. i downloaded the installation zip file and extracted it in my local m/c. Note:
this is not my installation folder.
2. then i went to cs-cache.xml,linked-cache.xml, ss-cache.xml and cas-cache.xml and
maintain the unique entries for multicastGroupAddress, multicasegroupport and timeToLive.
[I did the modification in the extracted folder thinking that it will get copied while
doing the installation, and my assumption is correct in the tomcat while deploying later i
saw all my entries in corresponding files ]
3. In jbossTicketCacheReplicationConfig.xml i modified mcast_addr="239.255.0.0" and
mcast_port as 4447
4. Then i started installing the content server, i gave the host name and port "localhost"
and "8080" wherever it is asking.
5. i clickec express installation instead of Custom settings
6. After installing it fro 73% again i got the same issue
7. When i was going through all the issues logs i found below issues.
a) it was not able to identify cache bean reference inside ticketRegistry.xml so i
commented out JBossCacheTicketRegistry and started using DefaultTicketRegistry in ticketRegistry.xml

Webcenter Sites installation

We have installed Webcenter sites Content server 7.6 patch2 on Apache Tomcat 6. Now we have deployed the gadget server and community server 1.1.1 on top of content server 7.6 patch2 using the Installation guide for gadget server and community server. Now while we are starting the tomcat server it throws the following exception:

Hi,
R u installing both the gadget and community servers on the same machine/box where your CS is running?
If it is so, then let me tell you that gadget and community servers use some common services and ports.
Hence it is recommended that install gadget and community servers on separate boxes.

i am trying to download oracle webcenter sites ,we would like to test .when i searched at oracle download and e-delivary i couldnt find the setup files ,it is only available in oracle shop to be bought .
is there anywhere to find the setup for development purposes ?

However no integration is there yet, and you will have to wait for the new release from oracle

Content Server error post installing webcenter sites

Hi ,
I installed webcenter sites and post installation after login when click on "Contributor" link getting Content Server error while Admin mode is working fine.

well you must have a paid account in oracle support.
-Login to My Oracle Support (support.oracle.com).
-Click the Patches & Updates tab
-Search by "Product or Family" and enter "Oracle WebCenter Sites" for the Product.
-Select "Sites 11GR1" for the Release and click Search.
-You will see "Oracle WebCenter Sites 11gR1 Jump start Kit (Patch)"

Is Search, Communications & Mobility Server included in webcenter license?

I wanted to know do we get the Enterprise Search, Content DB & communications & mobility server as part of the webcenter suite license ($50K)
I looked at the pricing list and it showed that these products were priced separately including the content for webcenter?
Does that mean I pay additional licese for the other software on top of the 50K for webcenter suite license? Can someone clarify this for me?

The best person to answer your questions is your Oracle Account Manager.
Saying that at a meeting with Oracle a few weeks ago I did hear what you get with WebCenter. The 50k license includes a license for ContentDB, Enterprise Search, a wiki, a Jive forum and of course the WebCenter framework.
It does not include the new Communications & Mobility server.

Same thing. You need mobile server to perform the replication and create the oracle lite database. You can use it at as a stand-alone database without the replication, but if you are looking to use it as a stand-alone database, I recommend going with Oracle PE or XE.

Jump Start Kit for Webcenter sites - Where is the download URL?

I would like to download the Jump start Kit (JSK) for WebCenter Sites. I read in online that it is under Oracle support under Patches and Updates. But i didn't see any tab called Patches and Updates under www.support.oracle.com. I already registered with oracle.com, so when i try to login, it is asking for Support Identifier number. Please help me to download JSK.

you need to provide the support id and get the appropriate permissions to download the JSK and other webcenter products.
I have downloaded it from Oracle support site only. But only after my customer has authorized me with their support id and gave me the permissions to download.

How to install facebook or twitter widget in Oracle WebCenter Sites?

Hi All,
I have Installed Oracle Webcenter sites on WebLogic Server. Its working fine and I am able to access avisports and FirstSiteII. Now I want to integrate with facebooK and Twitter Widgets.i am following http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E29495_01/doc.1111/community_11gr1_installation.pdf documentation. I started facebook external application I created app in facebook apps and I am trying to update setup_auth.properties file but I am notary able to fine the file in installation directory.there they mention production server/delivery system.
i think i created /installed in simple way I mean (only sites).
can i integrate with facebook or other social n/w? if yes please provide me some tip for that some blog link or doc.
tel me one thing for this integration is its possible to integrate webcenter sites with facebook or other social n/w with out complete system like all components( mobility server or others).?
please give some proper guide lines to get solution for this same.

Mobility Server Application

Hi All,
We have 13 sites with desktop and mobile version in production environment. These 13 mobile version sites are coded without Mobility server help. Now we want to get all these 13 sites on Mobility Server. What shall be done for this? Will the templates automatically be created for these 13 sites from the exisiting code. Else We will have to create new sites?
We have Webcenter Sites 11.1.1.8 version suite.

You won't need to create new WCS sites, but you will need to set up Mobility Server Display Objects which will become the building blocks for your mobile sites. The existing data in WCS will be used by these Display Objects.

I am trying to understand the capabilities of the Webcenter Sites product. I have the below queries.

1. Is installation supported on Mac? Can content contribution be done using Mac/iOS/Safari?
2. Can content authoring be done from mobile devices like iphone, ipad, android smartphones?
3. Is it possible to publish content from Delivery to Management instance?
4. Is there any language translation capability or we have to rely on third-party products for this?
5. Can the product provide A/B and multivariate testing?

Installation on Mac is not supported officially, but browser support is there for safari on Mac. You can go through the certification matrix for sites 11.1.1.6.0 (Oracle WebCenter Sites Documentation</title><meta name="Title" content="Oracle WebCenter Sites D… ) for better understanding.
3. Is it possible to publish content from Delivery to Management instance?
This is not a valid user case, publishing is done from Management site to delivery. Management system is where the contributors create the content and they will check , approve and publish this content to delivery system, in order for the content to go live on the site. Delivery is the server where the website is served from.
4. Is there any language translation capability or we have to rely on third-party products for this?
We do not have language translation capabilities in sites, i.e data cannot be translated into another language, but users can create data in different languages. Localization support for sites UI is there in 11.1.1.6.0.

WebCenter Sites Site Capture Installation

Hi,
I have installed WebCenter Sites (along with Oracle DB and WebLogic server). I am able to successfully open WCS samples sites(Avisports & FirstSite II) and AdminSite.
Now, I want to install WCS Site Capture, but I am not able to find the installer for Site Capture?
Does Site Capture installer comes along with WCS installer? Or do I need to download it separately, if yes, please help me with the download location/link.

There is a ZIP with the WCS-SiteCapture instaler.
After unzip you find a WAR to deploy and a DB script that you have to deploy and run the script. After that you should run the installer.
