Weblogic Plugin Configuration Problem -- no more in server list

HELP! Has anyone seen anything like this before. What we are seeing
          is that the plugin sporadically sends requests to the wrong weblogic
          instance. When it sends it to the wrong instance we are seeing the
          following in the wlproxy.log. Like I said, this happens sporadically.
          Sometimes it will work just fine for an entire transaction. Does
          anyone know what the "no more in server list" means. We've had bea on
          the phone for the last 12 hours and they haven't been able to help us
          up to this point. If I need to send any more information please let
          me know....
          Thanks in advance!!!
          Jeremy Martin

This one sound stricky. Have you checked all the usual suspects:
          -same cookie name in WB-INF/weblogic.xml and the cookiename set in
          plugin settings (defualts to JSESSIONID in 6.x)
          -network errors between web servers and WLS servers
          That utility can be invaluable in solving problems like this.I have seen
          session settings cause sessions to be lost, but never the message you
          are talking about. Try turning on the "DebugConfigInfo" setting and see
          what the "?__WebLogicBridgeConfig" page can tell you about your
          settings, what server list it is using and what servers are
          primary/secondary. One tip, you need to hit the WLS server one time, and
          then use the "?__WebLogicBridgeConfig". Until it communicates with the
          WLS server, it can only tell you it's own settings and not any
          information about up servers and primary/secondary assignements. Also
          look to make sure each server in the "Server List" has a blue ":OK" next
          to it to signify the plugin can see them.
          Hope that can help, though I am not sure they will deal with the problem
          you are seeing. Make sure you post the outcome to this issue, I will be
          very interested in seeing it.

    Kaiyin,
    You will get the API error when you don't have a corresponding agent name on
    the policy server. Add SM_WLS_AGENT (realm agent) or run the
    SmPolicyConfigTool provided with the agent. There is a netegrity newsgroup
    that you have the option of posting to as well.

    I found the problem.
    Certificates/KeyServer/File[@path] needs to be set your license file, but it must be in the ".cer" format.  The server won't start without this fileand it was not mentioned anywhere in the quick start guide but is mentioned in the protected streaming document.

  • Intermittent problem with weblogic plugin for Apache

    Env: hpux11, wls 4.5.2 w/sp1, apache 1.3.12.1
    I am using Apache as the proxy for servlets. Apache serves all static content html/gifs.
    The servlet request is forwarded to weblogic, and the servlet forwards the request to a jsp which responds with html output. Using IE 5, sometimes the images and html show up properly, other times the html code/tags is displayed. Using Netscape, the page does not display at all when the error occurs, otherwise it displays fine.
    The problem occurs when refreshing the same page.
    The errant display is HTML code/tags like:
    <AREA SHAPE="RECT" COORDS="4,4,82,86"
    Here are the httpd.conf settings for the wls plugin.
    <Files *.jsp
    SetHandler weblogic-handler

    In the debug log for wls plugin, the following failure message is logged to /tmp/wlproxy.log:
    "operation READ failed on fd 8: revents=0x000000c0"
    It looks like a socket error on the plugin. Has anyone seen this error or know what causes it?
    The log message (in /tmp/wlproxy.log) for the entire request follows:

    Hi,
    It seems you're using virutal host in place of Load module. Anyhow I have a couple of notices;
    - which JDK you've on your AIX server
    - Did you add LoadModule to your Httpd.conf
    - You a couple of parameters which are not known to me for example
    WLLocalIP z.z.z.,
    I put virtual host parameters as following;
    Location /WEBAPP>
    SetHandler weblogic-handler
    WebLogicCluster Hostname:7003,HostName:7004
    </Location>
    After these changes try to restart Admin Server & ManagedServers.
    Hear from you,
    Respectfully,
    Hamdy

    Hi.
    A couple of suggestions:
    First - make sure you can ping the WebLogic server on HPUX from your Win2k
    machine that is running IIS.
    Second, turn Debug=ON in your iisproxy.ini file to see what the debug log says.
    Post the log here if you need further help.
    Thanks,
    Michael

    2. IIS 5.0 on windows 2000 Advanced server.
    IIS is used to serve all the .html,.jpg,.pdf files and forwards all the
    requests for .jsp pages to the applications server (HP-UX).
    The IISproxy.ini file setting are as given below :

  • Problems starting WLS 7 server ... checkLicense NullPointerException

    Hi there,
    We have a clustered environment running WebLogic Server 7.0 Service Pack 4. In our cluster we're running two WLS instances essentially as webservers, to serve up static content.
    Starting and stopping the WLS instances is done using scripts written by a group of now-departed developers (we are not using NodeManager).
    The problem that we're having is that the "webserver" instances are very difficult to start up, and may require seven or eight attempts to start properly. Most of the time, we see the following NullPointerException in the server log:
    ====================================================
    <9-Nov-04 12:36:30 EST PM> <Notice> <WebLogicServer> <000360> <Server started in RUNNING mode>
    <9-Nov-04 12:36:30 EST PM> <Emergency> <WebLogicServer> <000209> <ListenThread.run() failed: java.lang.NullPointerException
    java.lang.NullPointerException
         at weblogic.t3.srvr.ListenThread.checkLicense(ListenThread.java:595)
         at weblogic.t3.srvr.ListenThread.run(ListenThread.java:333)
    >
    <9-Nov-04 12:36:30 EST PM> <Emergency> <WebLogicServer> <000210> <The WebLogic Server is no longer listening for connections. You should probably restart it.>
    ====================================================
    If WebLogic was having a hard time finding the license.bea file, I would expect that something more user-friendly than a NullPointerException would occur. Also, a simple problem with locating the license file doesn't really explain why the server eventually does come up properly, despite the fact that it can sometimes take many attempts.
    Unfortunately, since these servers are running in production we don't have the luxury to start and stop them at will to perform testing.
    Does anyone have any hints as to what might be causing this issue? Any advice would be much appreciated.
    Regards,
    jodym

    I'm guess you changed owner of config/mydomain to weblogic? To
    confirm - try touching/create a test file in config/mydomain,
    i.e. touch mytest.perm;ls -l mytest.perm;rm mytest.perm
    You could start weblogic with truss:
    truss -t open -o /tmp/truss.out -f "your start command"
    Then examine /tmp/truss.out

    I have installed WLS in the sun solaris machine and have problems starting up a mydomain
    test server. I am getting:
    weblogic.management.configuration.ConfigurationException: - with nested exception:
    [weblogic.security.internal.FileUtilsException: couldn't create temporary file for
    SerializedSystemIni.dat, .new, /config/mydomain - with nested exception:
    [java.io.IOException: No such file or directory]]
    I am suspecting the problem might be that we have installed it as root and then change
    the rights to weblogic. Any pointers are greatly appreciated.
    Thanks.

  • Weblogic Plugin issue

    Hello All,
    Many thanks for helping me,
    We have two webapps running in a single enterprise application and it's hosted
    in WLP 7.0 SP2 Cluster(2 servers). We have a single IPlanet webserver where the
    plugin configured and it routes the request to any one of the Weblogic servers.
    We got the latest plugin from BEA(libproxy_p4_357725.zip) and it works ok for
    one web application but not for the other. We also enabled the plugin log to see
    what happens. We saw enormous number of "Preferred server not set or it was marked
    bad, going to next server" when it fails. A complete set of log file is below:

  • Weblogic.management.configuration.ConfigurationException: Unknown attribute

    Dear All,
    I am using Weblogic 6.1 with Service Pack 2 it was working fine.
    I tried to upgrade it by installing Service Pack 7, but it was giving some exception when I tried to deploy the ejbs on server.
    Now I revert back to service pack 2 by uninstalling the service pack 7, but when I tried to start the server it is giving following error.
    How to solve this problem? It's very urgent. Pls help me out.
    The WebLogic Server did not start up properly.
    Exception raised:

    looking for StagedTargets into config.xml and delete this attribute.
    StagedTargets means that one application was deployed over one (or more) server in mode stage.
    I think that this attribute is not allow sp2 and is not very important.

  • Apache Plugin configuration

    Hi,
    I have an Apache in front of a weblogic cluster ;
    what would be the correct configuration for achieving that every hit the apache receives should be passed to the cluster (= one of the instancies).
    (Probaly a basic question but I'm having some kind of a blackout :-)
    Tried something like thsi but it doesnst work ...
    <IfModule mod_weblogic.c>
    WebLogicCluster 1.1.1.1:7001,1.1.1.1:7003
    MatchExpression *
    ConnectTimeoutSecs 40
    WLCookieName jsessionid
    KeepAliveEnabled ON
    </IfModule>
    ThanX

    Hmmm maybe I have been misleading myself...
    The result was the same as before so I'll have to start doubting my tests.
    The plugin log seems to indicate the request was passed to weblogic,
    but the access logs I had activated on weblogic reflect no entries ..
    I must have configured soemthing wrong.
    PS tested a page that doesn't exist, since there is no content yet in Weblogic
