Problem starting servers with nodemanager
Hi,
I'm following the Oracle By Example:
[http://www.oracle.com/technology/obe/fusion_middleware/wls103/InstallConfig/admin_mngd_srvr/admin_ms_using_nm.htm]
I have installed on Windows (not on Linux), but that shouldn't make much difference.
Now look at what I got on Step 10 of the OBE:

Question
Now when I go back to my admin console, I don't see dizzy1 server RUNNING, it has status SHUTDOWN. Screen refresh doesn't help either.
Any suggestions ??

The server dizzy1 has been configured with Listen Port 7003 and SSL Listen Port 7004. Both are not in the checkports.log.
What I did see in my nodemanager.log was:

And when I try to start server dizzy1, the Console gives the

Problem starting server with nodemanager
Hello,
I have a cluster running on JRockit on Windows 2003 sever and everything works fine when I start nodes from command line, but when I try to start cluster nodes from admin console through node managers in the log file I get:

It seems that node manager appends system PATH to the java.library.path of the server it is trying to start. The problem is spaces in the system PATH:
-Djava.library.path=C:\bea\WEBLOG~1\server\bin;.;C:\WINDOWS\system32;C:\WINDOWS;C:\bea\WEBLOG~1\server\native\win\32;C:\bea\WEBLOG~1\server\bin;C:\bea\JROCKI~1\jre\bin;C:\bea\JROCKI~1\bin;C:\bea\WEBLOG~1\server\native\win\32\oci920_8;c:\program files\imagemagick-6.2.8-q16;C:\Program Files\Support Tools\;C:\Program Files\Windows Resource Kits\Tools\;C:\WINDOWS\system32;C:\WINDOWS;C:\WINDOWS\System32\Wbem;C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\80\Tools\Binn\
java expects another option after space.
How do I make nodemanager not to append system path to server's java.library.path?
Is there a way to make node manager start server nodes with java.library.path value in quotation marks?
P.S. I'm running node manager as windows service. I saw a post that solves this problem by starting node manager from command line but this solution is not sufficient.Gediminas Aleknavicius skrev:

This news group is about JRockit. People here tend not to know that
much about non-JRockit products (like nodemanager). Try some WLx forum,
they should be able to answer your question!

marcoHi
add this params to the nodemanager start script
-Dweblogic.nodemanager.KeyFile=${NODEMGR_HOME}/config/
demokey.pem
-Dweblogic.nodemanager.certificateFile=${NODEMGR_HOME}/config/democert.pem
-Dweblogic.security.SSL.ignoreHostname.Verification=true
you need to specify certs for nodemanager
make sure servers use the same certs..
Best regards

Problem starting adminserver with WLST and Nodemanager
I have a domain with one cluster containing 4 managed servers. Now I want to start the adminserver with WLST using the Nodemanager. (I know there are other/beter ways but in this situation I need to do it with Nodemanager).
The problem is that the Nodemanager doesn't add the right memory arguments to the start command of the admin server.
This is what I do:
nmConnect(usernaam,password,host,port,domain)
nmstart(adminserver)
This does start the adminserver only without the proper memory arguments.
I tried:
using a startup.properties file in the directory <domain-dir> \servers\<server-name> \data\nodemanager with the following arguments: -Xms1024m -Xmx1024m
and
Puting the memory arguments in the "Server Start" properties in the config.xml (This works fine for the managedservers)
How can I solve this?The nmstart command has a properties argument. Have you tried that?
nmStart([serverName], [domainDir], [props], [writer])

Hello Per Rune,
I have a similar problem. Where exactly did you add the paramters? In the offline tool for the j2ee engine?
Many thanks for your answer.

Start Virtual Machines with CGI-Scripts
Hi @all,
i have running some Virtual Machines on my Mac Mini Server that i want to start and stop dynamicly. I thought i can do that with CGI-Scripts. If i know the correct URL the VM will start or stop. The problem is that the script must be started with my user-id. The _www user cannot start the VM's. Is it possible that i run a CGI-Script with a different user-id? Or do you have an other idea how can i realise my requirement.
Thank you very much

Manuelthanks for your help Strontium90.
I have compiled the binary and copied it in the path that apache wishes:
ls -l /usr/bin/suexec
-rwsr-x--- 1 root _www 18760 30 Mai 22:41 /usr/bin/suexec
But when i restart the Apache Server the suexec would not be loaded. When i read the Apache Docu i should see an message an the error log that the Wrapper was loaded, but in my case the message did not appear.

Remote start arguments and nodemanager
Hi,
if we provide the value '-ms96m -mx128m' for 'Arguments' under <domain>-Servers-<server>-Configuration-Remote
Start we get the following error:
<BaseProcessControl: saving process id of Weblogic Managed server 'condor-1',
pid: 16388>
Error occurred during initialization of VM
Incompatible initial and maximum heap sizes specified
Child exited
Without any arguments the server starts with the heap-configuration of the nodemanager.
How do we have to provide a different setting?
Btw. we had to change the startNodeManager.sh-script to get things running. Without
exporting CLASSPATH and PATH we were unable to start java with an ld.so.1-error.

Remote start petstore using NodeManager
Hi,
I am using weblogic 6.1 and remotely deployed pet store application on a different
machine using NodeManager. When I try to start the petStoreServer from local admin
console, I got following error:
Could not create pool connection. The DBMS driver exception was:
SQL Exception: Database 'petStore' not found.

Just add the property (-Dcloudscape....) as an extra argument to the jvm
startup parameters in the remote start tab of the remote server. That should
work as hte nodemanager just uses what settings are there in hte remote
start to create a server instance.

Need help with a script applied by GPO
Hello,
I need to automate WebFeed insertion for Remote App Users at user logon.
RDS 2012 R2 in place. Remote Apps are provided to W7 clients.
Currently, WebFeed link must be inserted manually in each user's Control Panel\RemoteApp and Desktop Connections. There
is no straight forward way from Microsoft.
But there is a script and instruction I found on web...
I followed the instruction... Created GPO. GPO applies to user but nothing happens.
Can somebody check the script and the instruction that I could wrongly applied.
In instruction there is no word about changing something in the script but only wcx file that the script should
use.
The script is below and here is my .wcx file:
<?xml version="1.0? encoding="utf-8? standalone="yes"?>
<workspace name="Enterprise Remote Access" xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/ts/2008/09/tswcx" xmlns:xs="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema">
<defaultFeed url="https://my_webserver_real_FQDN/rdweb/Feed/webfeed.aspx" />
</workspace>
I changed the quotes to vertical (") from (”) that
were in my wcx when copied the lines from web.
Still not works.
I
checked Application log, PowerShell and RemoteApp in eventviewer under user session
Everything is clean.
Were I can check the script execution log?
When the user with applied script logs in, the icon of Remote
connection appears for 10 seconds on the task bar and disappears.
Looks like it's trying...
Check please if the script really should not be touched and provide some troubleshooting
steps.
Thanks!
INSTRUCTIONS from
the link:
http://www.concurrency.com/infrastru...rver-2012-rds/
"Unfortunately
Windows 7 clients are out of luck here. If you really want to use GPO to deploy
RemoteApps to Windows 7 clients, then you have to jump through a few
hoops.
Create a new GPO and under User ConfigurationPoliciesWindows
SettingsScripts, double click Logon and click the
Show Files
button. This will open an explorer window where you can copy files that will be
saved within this GPO. Download the
Install-RADCConnection.ps1 script from the TechNet gallery and
save it there. Also create a new Text file named something like feed.wcx,
open it in Notepad and paste in the following three lines of text:
<?xml
version=”1.0″ encoding=”utf-8″ standalone=”yes”?>
<workspace
name=”Enterprise Remote Access” xmlns=”http://schemas.microsoft.com/ts/2008/09/tswcx”xmlnss=”http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema”>
<defaultFeed
url=”https://rds.domain.com/RDWeb/Feed/webfeed.aspx”
/>
</workspace>
Now select the PowerShell Scripts tab and
click the Add button.
Click Browse and select the .ps1 file and
for the parameters enter the name of the wcx file. Click OK twice and you are
ready to scope that policy to a set of users.
<#
.SYNOPSIS
Installs a connection in RemoteApp and Desktop Connections.
.DESCRIPTION
This script uses a RemoteApp and Desktop Connections bootstrap file(a .wcx file) to set up a connection in Windows 7 workstation. No user interaction is required.It sets up a connection only for the current user. Always run the script in the user's session.
The necessary credentials must be available either as domain credentials or as cached credentials on the local machine. (You can use Cmdkey.exe to cache the credentials.)
Error status information is saved in event log: (Applications and Services\Microsoft\Windows\RemoteApp and Desktop Connections).
.Parameter WCXPath
Specifies the path to the .wcx file
.Example
PS C:\> Install-RADCConnection.ps1 c:\test1\work_apps.wcx
Installs the connection in RemoteApp and Desktop Connections using information
in the specified .wcx file.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯ -
A couple of years ago I was using an AppleScript file (thanks to someone else's assistance) but it no longer works.
I have an extra internal drive, that is partitioned, and used for sequential daily backups. When the computer starts up, of course all the drives mount - but I prefer that they are off the desktop until neded.
Rather than selecting the volumes and then dragging to the Trash, I found it easier to have a script run at startup which then asks if the drives should be unmounted.
Things were great - until I upgraded to Tiger.
I am hoping that someone can tell me what's wrong with the script so that I can start using it again. As you can probably tell, I don't have any experience in AppleScript. At the moment the script runs - it presents the dialogue box - and then just ends after a response, but the drives do not unmount.
The partitions on the drive are called Monday Tuesday Wednesday Thursday Saturday
The existing script is as follows:
on run
display dialog "Unmount All Backup Drives?" buttons {"Yes", "No"} default button 1
set x to button returned of result
if x is "Yes" then tell application "Finder" to eject "Monday"
end runThis relates to another (current) thread in AppleScript discussions.
Your script works with Panther as that operating system allows INTERNAL drives to be "ejected" (and, if you eject one volume on a partitioned drive, all the volumes on that drive are ejected -- this explains why ejecting "Monday" actually ejected Monday through Friday).
With Tiger, you would find that your script works exactly as expected with EXTERNAL drives, but INTERNAL drives need a different approach.
To get behavior exactly as you had before, try this script:
--BEGINNING
display dialog "Unmount All Backup Drives?" buttons {"Yes", "No"} default button 1
set x to button returned of result
if x is "Yes" then set driveName to "Monday"
set driveInfo to do shell script "diskutil list | grep \"" & driveName & "\""
set driveID to last word of driveInfo
do shell script "diskutil unmountDisk " & driveID & ""
--END
For reasons that aren't entirely clear to me, this approach, while it works reliably, is very slow -- on my fast machine, the unmount process takes nearly 20 seconds. (Using UNIX directly in Terminal, with the same command, is very quick.) (In the AS, the delay occurs in second "do shell script.")
Another puzzle that has cropped up is described in the related thread "Applescript to Mount/Unmount a Disk . . ." (current). While the above approach works for Justin Surpless, it often prompts for a password -- unacceptable in his application. I've not seen this on my PPC (and I tried 10.4.7, which he's using); his may be an Intel Mac, if that could be the difference. -
How can I compile all functions, procedures and packages with a script?
I need to compile all functions, procedures and packages of 5 schemas (users) with a script.
How can I do it?
Thanks!you can create a script to select all invalid objects in those schemas Since Oracle 8 introduced NDS this approach has struck me as a trifle old fashioned. It's much simpler to loop round the query in PL/SQL and use EXECUTE IMMEDIATE to fire off the DDL statements. No scripts, no muss, no fuss.
Having said that, the problem with this approach and also with using DBMS_UTILITY.COMPILE_SCHEMA is that they do not compile all the invalid objects in dependency order. This may result in programs being invalidated by the subsequent compilation of dependencies. This is due to the introduction of Java into the database.
The UTLRP script is much better, because it (usually) avoids cyclic references. But you still may need to run it more than once.
In general it is better to avoid sledgehammer recompilations (like DBMS_UTILITY.COMPILE_SCHEMA, which starts by invalidating all the objects). If we have twenty invalid objects, nineteen of which are dependencies of the twentieth, we actually only need to recompile the master object, as recompiling it will trigger the recompilation of all the others.

New here... question to start off with
Hi everyone...
New to the forum and excited to learn some things with Dreamweaver.
A question to start off with.... How does one program Dreamweaver so that it will automatically format in different browsers (sizes). Is this even possible?
cheers...
twingiRead post #3 again... the part about 100%
Also... lots of tutorial links
As well as the links below - another way to learn (including anyone else's bad habits) is to find a page you like, and then tell your web browser to show you the code view for the page and/or do a "Save As" and save the page to your computer to then copy & paste code segments into your file (in IE click View at the top, select Source from the options)

Checking database availability with shell script
can anyone help with a script that checks for database availability before 10 P.M and 7 A.M at 5 minites interval and starts a SQL Load of a table once the db is available.
I have no Shell script experience at all but I can amend an already written script.
Please Help !!Dear Timothy,
Within the Oracle software you have installed on your machine, there is a script called "dbstart" within the <ORACLE_HOME>/bin directory. This script provided by Oracle can be easily modified to check whether the server is up and should help solve your problem.
Ciao!
