WebService Proxy and x509 cert. authentication
Does anybody know if JDeveloper 10.1.3 generated WebService proxy by default is trying to use wallet other then keystore?
We have generated a web service proxy and trying to make a call to a WebService over SSL to the site which require x509 certificate.
Setting up keystore properties like :
System.setProperty("javax.net.ssl.keyStore","c://temp//keystore/myKeystore.jks");
System.setProperty("javax.net.ssl.keyStorePassword","password");
does not have any affect. And debug shows the following:
{Thread-10} [1:42:59.187] URLC: (https:twss.trac2es.transcom.mil:443) Connecting ...
{Thread-10} [1:42:59.187] Conn: Creating Socket: twss.trac2es.transcom.mil:443
{Thread-10} [1:42:59.328] Conn: using SSL version Oracle
{Thread-10} [1:42:59.390] Using wallet:
{Thread-10} [1:42:59.437] Conn:
And then shows the errors:
{Thread-10} [1:42:59.437] Unable to connect to URL: https://twss.trac2es.transcom.mil/trac2es-pmr/WebServicePmrSoapHttpPort due to java.security.PrivilegedActionException: javax.xml.soap.SOAPException: Message send failed: javax.net.ssl.SSLException: SSL handshake failed: SSLSessionNotFoundErr
Any help will be apreciated

Bruce,
We are trying to setup X509 Client Cert to involve CAC(Smart Card) processing as a part of the initial part of our Jdev 10 or 11g app utilizing jsf/toplink. We are running OAS 10.1.2.0.2 presently but we can move to OAS 10.1.3 or OAS 10.1.4 without any problem.
I am hearing a lot of references to Jdev and creating the WebService.
Do you know if I am better off using what comes with OAS for the authentication or using Jdeveloper? If there is any good document you can refer me to we'll greatly appreciate it.
Thank you in advance for your response.

X509 Cert Authentication Scheme - 403 HTTP Error
The user is been thrown a 403 HTTP error as part of this configuration to support X509certs.
Environment is OAM 10g running on Sun One Web Server6.1 and Solaris 2.8 O/S.
Any pointers on troubleshooting this issue ?
Thanks in advance.This generally points to a certificate trust or certificate revocation issue. I have a bunch of questions that might point you in the right direction.
1 - Does the web server trust the CA that issued certs to the clients?
2 - Does the user certificate have a CRL Distribution Point?
2a - If so, can the web server follow this CDP to ensure the user cert is not revoked?
3 - Is the user cert revoked?
4 - Does the server cert have a CRL Distribution Point?
4a - If so, can the user browser's follow this CDP to ensure the server cert is not revoked?
5 - Do the clients trust the CA that issued the cert to the web server (not likely a cause)?
6 - Does this happen to all users or just one? (if it only happens with one user then that user's cert is likely revoked).
FYI - this isn't a OAM issue really, it's a mutual SSL client / server authentication issue between your web server and your browser. You should also check the web server docs, these may point you in the right direction. -
Configure EndPoint URL in WebService DataControl and Proxy
I have created application using webservices based DataControl and WebService Proxy. I want to use config file to change the host and port for these webserviceDC and webServiceProxy.
I have referred the following link -http://blogs.oracle.com/adf/2011/02/changing_endpoint_url_for_a_web_service_data_control.html

Thanks,
RajdeepI have created the ADF WebServiceConnection for the webproxy class generated. Then I have used the following code to use the URL's from Connections.xml -
Context ctx;
try {
ctx = ADFContext.getCurrent().getConnectionsContext();
WebServiceConnection wsc = (WebServiceConnection) ctx.lookup("GetPaymentTypesService");
getPaymentTypesPort = wsc.getJaxWSPort(GetPaymentTypesPort.class);
Issue - when i run this with in same application It works fine. But try to use this project in another application as ADF Library , it is not able to pick the connections and wsc object is comming as null.

Consuming WebServices in ABAP WebDynPro via webservice proxy code
Hi,
My requirement is to consume a webservice using WSDL(basic authentication) in WebDynPro ABAP. then based on the SOAP response I need to show a pop up message whether the response valid or not.?
I first tested the webservice by creating LPCONFIG Logical Port and generated WebService Proxy class.
It got response correctly with basic authentication enabled each time I send a request.
Secondly I generated webservice proxy code using service calls on creating webdynpro test application with some UI elements. Service call created Nodes,attributes and method correctly.
it's giving me error when it tries to invoke webservice method through generated code.
Question is that How do we code authentication to the webservice method via WebDynPro ABAP code.
I appreciate anyone who worked on this area and taken basic authentication via coding. or worked successfully through coding.
Thanks

Web Application Proxy and Safari
Morning, all.
I've installed and configured the new Windows Server 2012 R2 AD FS and Web Application Proxy, and I've run into some strange problems. I had some initial problems getting it to work, the documentation is a bit thin, but I now have Sharepoint and Webmail
published to the Internet.
I'm using x.509 Certificate Authentication for Extranet.
In IE on a Windows 8.1 Surface Pro everything works. I can log in using ether a softcert or a SmartCard.
On my OS X Mac I can log in using Chrome, but Safari won't work.
Same thing on my iPad running iOS 7.0.4, Safari won't work. Interestingly enough, on my 7.0.4 iPhone it DOES work. Even more interestingly, I CAN Workplace Join the iPad using the URL https://<adfs fqdn>/enrollmentserver/otaprofile but
I can't authenticate using the URL https://<adfs fqdn>/adfs/ls/IdpInitiatedSignon.aspx.
I get to select my certificate, but after that I'm getting this error message: "Safari cannot open the page because too many redirects occurred." In the Event log on the AD FS server I'm getting this:
Encountered error during federation passive request.
Additional Data
Protocol Name:

Since it does work on an iPhone running the same browser, and Workplace Join does work on the iPad even if nothing else does I'm thinking there's some UserAgent voodoo going on in parts of the Web Application Proxy. It's no big deal that Safari in OS X doesn't
work, we can always run Chrome, but the iPad is a major problem and a total deal breaker if I can't fix it.
I would appreciate some good advice.Hi,
As both IE and Chrome work, I think it’s more a client side issue.
Maybe you need to clear you browser cache and cookies.
This also worth a try:

Generating Webservices proxy in JDeveloper 10.1.3.4.0.4270
Hi,
I have been using Jdeveloper 10.1.3.0.4 for creating .net webservice proxy for over a year now. Recently i upgraded the Jdeveloper IDE to 10.1.3.4.0.4270 and since then i m not able to connect to the webservice. Here are the steps i m taking to create the proxy which i did in the older version as well.
New --> Business Tier --> Web Service --> Web Service Proxy
WSDL Document URL -- https://ServerName/Webservice.asmx?wsdl
I am using all the default settings from Steps 2 thru 4
Step 5 -- Adding a package name, clearing the root package for generated types, checking all the other options on the screen.
Finally click Finish.
All of this still works if i were make the proxy in the previous Jdeveloper version. However with this new version i am getting the following error.

-Seema Abdi.Can you compare the Web Browser and Proxy settings in your jdev installation.(Tools->Preferences->Web Browser and proxy)
I case that does not solve your issue:
Where is this service hosted? Is it on your localbox or you are accessing it over the net.
Can you try migrating the project created in the earlier Jdev installation and see if you can run that successfully.

R. RameshTwo comments:
1) The generated proxy looks correct. If you explore the generated code for the InputParams object and the Rowset object, they should represent the incoming and outgoing data structures for your transaction. If not, and if you are returning an XML property type from the transaction, be sure that you have used the "Assign Reference Document" technique to tell MII what the structure of your outgoing document is (there are a few other discussion threads on that topic).
2) Personally, I find it much easier to consume MII services from .NET code using a URL-based technique instead of a SOAP based technique. Invoke the "Runner" servlet (see the documentation) and you'll get an XML document back, that will always be in the MII Rowsets/Rowset/Row format. Also, it is "self describing" because it includes Column metadata information. It is very trivial to load this into a .NET XmlDocument object and parse/process it. In fact, doing a similar approach, I've been able to make MII services appear as ADO.NET tables/stored procedures to .NET code.

If I use the webserivce wsdl url(http://www.esendex.com/secure/messenger/soap/SendService.asmx?wsdl) which exsits from internet. I get the following error:
"No WSDL document found".
Please help how to overcome this error.
Thanks & Regards,
NomanHi Noman,
Can you try running the URL in the browser and check if you are able to "view" the wsdl?
For the second issue, i feel it could be because of the firewall / proxy issue. Try setting the proxy (if you are using one) in your jdeveloper-> Tools->Preferences->Web Browser and Proxy section.

P.S : Post the JDeveloper version you are using in "all" the questions, which would help us to give precise answer. From the URL(http://localhost....), i guess you are using JDev 11.1.1.2.0, but you need to confirm. -
How to use CLIENT-CERT authentication?

I would like to know how to use client authentication.
I used a web application with CLIENT-CERT authentication.
And I accessed to the application from browser, then I had the following error
message:
Incorrect or missing client certificate.
I used OpenSSL to generate keys.
Could you tell me the information of the setting?
Especially, I don't know theentry of CertAuthenticator.
Could you tell me?

Yes we have added the client certificate file (.pfx) in the Firefox browser Certificate manager / Store. It's also showing the certificate in the View Certificate window. We could not resolve it yet. -
How to call a webservice proxy from BPM application?
Hi All,
Consider a case where I want to use external webservice in my BPM application. What is the best approach to achieve this.
1) What if I create a web service proxy and wants to use in the BPM app. How can I use this?
2) Which component do I need to use "Web Service" component or "Third Party Adapter" component from the component pallette?
3) If I use directly the wsdl in the "Web Service" component will it cause any issues in the future.
I searched in the net and the docs, but it didnt find the proper solutions for this.
Please provide your comments on this.
Thanks.First of all a java proxy would not help much here - there is no use for that in SOA suite especially when it comes to using the JCA adapters. Instead reference the WSDL directly in SOA suite but there is a caveat - see my response below
1) What if I create a web service proxy and wants to use in the BPM app. How can I use this?
Dont create a WS proxy. Instead reference the WSDL and call it using a Service Task from the BPM process
2) Which component do I need to use "Web Service" component or "Third Party Adapter" component from the component pallette?
Use the WSDL directly and select "Web Service" from the component palette
3) If I use directly the wsdl in the "Web Service" component will it cause any issues in the future.
Yes there are lots of issues referencing a WSDL directly. Instead upload the WSDL reference to SOA-MDS and then use the oramds:// reference to the WSDL. This will ensure the composite does not break when the WSDL is not available. JDeveloper also goes into a tizzy when the WSDL is not up.

LDAP security provider and web service authentication
Background: we are currently developing web services to our existing weblogic application. Our users can configure user/password authentication in one of three ways: database, LDAP, or SSO. Setting SSO aside, we need to implement the same authentication for database and LDAP that we use in our existing logon servlet in our web services. In our servlet we detect which they are configured for and, if database, authenticate the encrypted password to a database table we have for user id/password. If LDAP we use weblogic.servlet.security.ServletAuthentication and the weak() method to authenticate.
We've to use SOAP headers to communicate username/password from the client to the web service. We want to code a SOAP message handler to grab the username/password and do the authentication there. We've successfully put something together that handles the database authentication no problem and are now struggling with how to handle the LDAP authentication. We distribute a LDAP security provider we've coded for LDAP authentication. I guess what I am looking for is an equivalent functionality provided with weblogic.servlet.security.ServletAuthentication. Note that I realize the weblogic.servlet.security package has been deprecated starting with Weblogic 9.0 but cannot find what functionality replaces it. Any help there would be appreciated as well.
Note that I am fairly new to web service development (about 10 months now) and definitely new to web service security and Weblogic security. I tried digging into the volumes of documentation out there regarding these two topics but am simply having a difficult time sorting it all out and figuring out how to do what I want to do.
Thanks in advance!
JuliaHi,
Add Provider (LDAP Credentials) in Admin console Security Realm --> defaultrealm -->Providers. Configuring Ldap in Admin Console will enable Admin Server to connect to LDAP. All the LDAP preconfigured Users/Groups will be available in Users and Groups Tab of Security Realms >defaultrealm >Users and Groups. Add Roles using Security Realms >defaultrealm > Roles and Policies > Global Roles > Roles. Add Role Conditions to the role by specifying users/groups configured in LDAP. If your webservice runs with SSL Anotate the Webservice file something like this below.
@RolesAllowed({
@SecurityRole(role="test")
@Policy(
uri="policy:Wssp1.2-2007-Https-UsernameToken-Plain.xml",

If I define a prefix P2L in the expression editor to correspond to "http://foo.com/namespace/business", I'm able to reference the ExecuteResponse element as "./P2L:ExecuteResponse", but then I get stuck.
If I try use a Rename action to change the namespace for "./P2L:*", only the ExecuteResponse element is renamed to <sof:ExecutResponse xmlns:sof="http://foo.com/namespace/proxy">. Upstream in the calling application, there's an XML stream reader exception because (I assume) ExecuteResult is not found and parsed.
>
You pattern "./P2L:\*" matches just one element so it's ok that the payload's namespace wasn't touched. If you want to rename namespace for all elements try "//P2L:*". However, I'm not sure whether this is what you want. Try do describe what you do, what you want and what you get instead.
>
I also tried using a Replace action against "./P2L:ExecuteResponse/@xmlns" to replace its contents with "http://foo.com/namespace/proxy". I also tried "./P2L:ExecuteResponse/@P2L:xmlns". Neither worked.

I think it's not a good approach to replace content of xmlns as this attribute is not a common xml attribute. -
CLIENT-CERT authentication in WL7
Hi,
I'm trying to enforce two-way authentication for clients (java applications) accessing
a web service running on WL7.
Web service is configured to accept requests over https only. With BASIC authentication
it works. When I
switch it to use CLIENT-CERT authentication I cannot connect to the web service.
I've set the
"javax.net.debug" directive to "ssl" and noticed that during the handshake procedure
the server doesn't
produce client certificate request. May it be the cause of the problem? If so,
how can I make the server to
generate client cert request?Exactly, it was the reason. Thanks.

You must have been accessing the server over one-way SSL. Make sure the
two-way
ssl server attribute is set to: Client Certificate Enforced, or Client

This should be all that is needed to make the server send the
certificate request.
With Client Certificate Enforced option you should be getting ssl
handshake failure
unless the client sends its certificate.

Yes, I have. If I had not done it, I couldn't have accessed the service

Have you configured the server for two way ssl?

Hi,
I'm trying to enforce two-way authentication for clients (java
applications)
accessing
a web service running on WL7.
Web service is configured to accept requests over https only. With
BASIC
authentication
it works. When I
switch it to use CLIENT-CERT authentication I cannot connect to theweb
service.
I've set the
"javax.net.debug" directive to "ssl" and noticed that during the
handshake
procedure
the server doesn't
produce client certificate request. May it be the cause of the
problem?
If so,
how can I make the server to
generate client cert request?--

Need the approach for passing source to proxy and idocs
Hi PI mates,
i was struck in implementing one scenario.here is my scenario..i am getting source message (webservice call) and i need to pass it to table fields and as well standard idocs at the same time...for updating tables we are going with proxy.any how idocs will get update once we pass message.My question is how to go this approach..? we can create 2 structures at target but we dont have any conditions for routing .
is there any approach..pls light me.
thanks in advance,
LoordhHi Loordh
If you have an option of suggesting a change in SAP, this scenarios can be handled easily in SAP (ABAP).
I have seen cases when SAP does internal IDOC posting .So its possible for them to receive as proxy and call the FM to update the tables and IDOC creation/posting at the same time provided the structure you are using have all the fileds to create IDOC and update tables.
Else if its not an option open for you then you can create 2 operations mapping and call them in interface mapping ,standarted Interface determination should work given timing of posting is not very critical here(may be a sec or two delay in operations)

How to pass username/password through WebService proxy client to E-BS.
Hi
We are using ADF Webservice proxy client to integrate E-Business suite with ADF. It asks for username/password to access details from E-BS. In the generated webservice XSD file, a method is available with 2 parameters.
1) SOAP header( Contains Username, responsibility and 2 more fields)
2) Class object(Nested Object)
However i didn't find "*Password*" field anywhere in it. Then how can I pass "*Password*" along with username to invoke this method?
When i checked SOAP, the password is defined like this
<wsse:Password Type="http://docs.oasis-open.org/wss/2004/01/oasis-200401-wss-username-token-profile-1.0#PasswordText">XXXX</wsse:Password>a

Thank you for your post. It is really helpful. Now I got stuck with a doubt, in this piece of code
final Binding binding = ((BindingProvider) servicePort).getBinding();
List<Handler> handlerList = binding.getHandlerChain();
if (handlerList == null)
handlerList = new ArrayList<Handler>();
They didn't mention properly about "*servicePort*". What object is this?
I checked in Oracle document, even in that I was not clear with that piece of code.
public class HandlerWS{
@Resource WebServiceContext ctx;
@WebMethod()
public String getProperty(String propertyName) {
return (String) ctx.getMessageContext().get(propertyName);
public class Main {
public static void main(String[] args) {
HandlerWS test;
try {
test = new HandlerWS(new URL(args[0] + "?WSDL"), new
QName("http://example.org", "HandlerWS") );
} catch (MalformedURLException murl) { throw new RuntimeException(murl); }
HandlerWSPortType port = test.*getHandlerWSPortTypePort*();
What is this HandlerWSPortType object???. Can you give me little more explanation about it?
Thanks
