WebServices: compilation error occurred

Created a webservice from a java class. The method that i am exposing in the webservice takes a java object (Serializable) as input and gives another java object (Serializable) as output.I am creating webservice from JDeveloper. While i am creating webservice from JDeveloper, While Specifying Custom Data Type Serializers, i have two xsds one for input object and one for output object. After creating the webservice if i try to deploy my webservice, it gives me an error
Error compiling :C:\product\10.1.3.1\OracleAS_1\j2ee\home\applications\ObjectJava-MyEmpJavaProj-WS\WebServices: compilation error occurred
and there is no further info on this. How can resolve this? any ideas?

I'm having the same problem except I used a top-down approach and created the web service from the WSDL. I go to deploy the web service and then I get the error:
Binding WebServices web-module for application {"application directory"} to site default-web-site under context root {"context-root"}
Operation failed with error:
Error compiling :C:\product\10.1.3.1\OracleAS_1\j2ee\home\applications\{"application directory"}\WebServices: compilation error occurred
I'm assuming this refers to the .war file since that is what the \WebServices points to but I haven't been able to figure out what Oracle JDeveloper is having problems compiling.
Thanks!

  • Adding Engine component causes: "Compiler errors occurred when generating a Windows Forms wrapper..."

    I got this error when I tried to drop a TestStand Engine class onto my main form in VisualStudio.NET.
    Compiler errors occurred when generating a Windows Forms wrapper for ActiveX control 'AxNationalInstruments.TestStand.Interop.API'
    The error message went on to say that it saved the source in ./obj/AxInterop.TS.cs so I added that to the project. When I try to build it, I get this error:
    The designer must create an instance of type 'System.Windows.Forms.AxHost' but it cannot because the type is declared as abstract.
    I am using TestStand 3.0 evaluation, Version 7.1.3088 of Microsoft Development Environment 2003, and .NET Framework 1.1 Version 1.1.4322 SP1.
    Is this aximp.exe problem?
    Can someone suggest how to fix this?
    Thanks,
    Jeff

    TestStand installs pre-built interop wrappers for the TestStand engine and all the TestStand UserInterface controls. You can find them in \API\DotNet\Assemblies\CurrentVersion\.
    However, the best thing to do is usually to add the ApplicationMgr control to your .NET form and then call form.axApplicationMgr1.GetEngine() to get the engine. Doing this automatically adds references to the interop assemblies to your project. You can find this control in the TestStand tab of your .NET toolbox when you have a form active.
    Ideally, you should start with the .NET simple operator interface examples which are in \OperatorInterfaces\NI\Simple\CSharp\ and \OperatorInterfaces\NI\Simple\VB.Net\

  • Compilation error occurred

    i get this error when i try to deploy a web service. is there a way to debug the oc4j compilation process?
    it's behaving VERY strange.. everything is ok if the webmethod is returning a class of name: "Class1", but if i rename it to "HolidayDto" i get this error.

    the whole error i've got was: error deploying ear: compilation error occurred or something similar...
    the problem was, that the HolidayDto had a property of type: java.util.List. i'm aware of the fact that WS methods cannot work with such types, but there surely are better error messages for this than: "blah, blah: compilation error occurred"
    anyway when i've changed the property name from "reviews" to "reviewsList" everything started working..
    what i still dont understand why it worked when the class name of the particular class was Class1.. strange

  • Compile Errors occured when simulink models including 'cmex' by SIT

    I am trying to compile a simulink model to DLL with following softwares and hardwares.
    Software:
    LabVIEW 8.0.1
    LabVIEW Realtime 8.0.1
    Simulation Interface Toolkit 3.0
    MATLAB R13
    Visual C++ 6.0 Service Pack 4
    Target Hardware:
    PXI-1042RTPXI-8196
    PXI-6289
    When I tried to compile a model including 'cmex' function on Simulink to DLL, compile error about Visual C++ occured. Does SIT support the model including 'cmex' functions?
    When I removed the function 'cmex', compiling is working correctly.
    To import original model which is written by C or other language, I strongly want to use 'cmex' functions. To avoid the compile error, if you have any ideas, please let me know.
    Thanks,
    Tsugo

    Hello Tsugo,
    I believe that it is possible to compile a DLL for SIT from a model that contains a cmex function.
    To tell whether the issue is caused by SIT or not, you can try changing the RTW target file from nidll.tlc to grt.tlc (in the model's Simulation Parameters dialog, look in the Real-Time Workshop tab), and see whether the compile error still happens. If the compiler error occurs with grt.tlc, then please refer to the documentation provided by The MathWorks Inc. on how to get your cmex functions to work in Real-Time Workshop®.
    If the compiler error does not occur with grt.tlc, then please post the whole text of the compiler error.
    Thanks!

  • 8.0.1 webservice compile errors

    We're running a pair of CF 8 Standard Servers. Since
    installing the 8.0.1 updater, webservices have been giving me a
    headache.
    Each server runs a different site, and they are integrated by
    web services. Some of these services return complex values, defined
    by CFCs with no methods, only data. Not all services in the CFC
    return complex data, but all throw errors when I try to run them.
    A test CFC containing a single method that simply returns
    "true" can be sucessfully consumed.
    Since installing the 8.0.1 updater (v 8,0,1,195765), none of
    the services are consumed correctly. When I call them by URL, they
    seem to return correct WDDX, but when I attempt to consume them
    using CFINVOKE, I get the error quoted at the end.
    We get the same problem on development servers.
    Is this a problem with JRE 1.6.0_04? Something wiggy about
    returning complex structures? Is there an obvious solution I'm not
    seeing? Heck, I'll settle for an obscure answer I'm not seeing.

    Please could somebody help me out with this? Basically I am not able to understand how to deploy the EAR file created under the MyWork folder under jdeveloper\jdev to the applications folder of j2ee\home. I am new to both EAR deployment as well as web services and would like to get a good understanding of the working of a web service which includes SOAP components and the like.
    Any help with regards to building and deploying a web service on standalone OC4J would be appreciated. Thanks a lot.

    Initially I followed the following steps to start up OC4J:-
    Settings :-
    1) Jdeveloper is setup under C:\Lester\Testing as Jdev10.1.3 folder
    2) I downloaded the extended oc4j zip folder and unzipped it under a new folder oc4j at the location C:\Lester\Testing\Jdev10.1.3
    Steps followed to run oc4j and deploy application
    1) Setup a standalone oc4j from the jdeveloper ide giving C:\Lester\Testing\Jdev10.1.3\oc4j as the root folder for oc4j.
    2) While doing step 1 added password and deployed it. Changed server.xml under C:\Lester/Testing/JDev10.1.3/oc4j/j2ee/home/config
    to include the following:-
    <shared-library name="global.libraries" version="1.0" library-compatible="true">
    <code-source path="C:\Lester/Testing/JDev10.1.3/oc4j/j2ee/home/applib"/>
    </shared-library>
    AND
    <java-compiler name="javac" in-process="false" options="-J-Xmx1024m -encoding UTF8" bindir="C:\Jdeveloper\jdk" extdirs="C:\Jdeveloper/jdk" />
    3) Opened a command prompt and went to the location C:\Lester\Testing\JDev10.1.3\oc4j\j2ee\home and ran the following command:-
    --> java -jar oc4j.jar
    4) Deployment: Then I deployed my primewebservice application from command prompt at C:\Lester\Smart Cylinder\Example code\prime\PrimeNumberService>
    using:-
    --> java -jar C:\Lester/Testing/JDev10.1.3/oc4j/j2ee/home/admin.jar ormi://172.20.13.164:8888 oc4jadmin welcome -deploy -file PrimeNumberService.ear -deploymentName DocStyleWebService
    5) Web Binding: Then I bound my primewebservice application from command prompt at C:\Lester\Smart Cylinder\Example code\prime\PrimeNumberService>
    using:-
    --> java -jar C:\Lester/Testing/JDev10.1.3/oc4j/j2ee/home/admin.jar ormi://172.20.13.164:8888 oc4jadmin welcome -bindWebApp DocStyleWebService PrimeNumberService_web http-web-site /docws
    6) Steps 4 and 5 went through without error.
    7) However when trying to access the web service using the following link I get the standard HTTP 404 (Page not found) error:-
    http://localhost:8888/docws/prime
    This was before I tried deploying the web service through jdeveloper IDE.
    I had tried the document web service given at the following link:-
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/sample_code/tech/java/codesnippet/webservices/docservice/index.html
    from the web services how to links
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/sample_code/tech/java/codesnippet/webservices/index.html
    Please could somebody help me out? Also periodically I recieve the ojc.exe not found error when trying to deploy an application using jdeveloper ide. There are two conflicting jdeveloper versions one comes with this exe and one without.

    Hello,
    I do not see why you have this error, is it the only log entry that you have? Anything in the application.log?

  • Error occurred in deployment step 'Activate Features':EXCEPTION HAS BEEN THROWN BY THE TARGET OF AN INVOCATION?

    Hi All,
    While building event handler to call webservice facing "Error occurred in deployment step 'Activate Features':EXCEPTION HAS BEEN THROWN BY THE TARGET OF AN INVOCATION"; If comment webservice, then build successfully. How to fix this issue?
    Thanks in advance!

    hi
    if you call WCF service in feature event receiver you need to ensure that proxy is properly configured. In most cases proxy is configured via web.config file using <system.serviceModel> section, but if it is used in feature receiver it depends on how
    you activate the feature:
    1. if feature is added to onet.xml of custom web template which is used for creating site collection from Central Administration you will need to modify web.config file of CA
    2. similar to previous but instead of site collection you try to create sub site using custom web template: in this case you will need to modify web.config of your Sharepoint web application
    3. if you activate feature from timer job somehow, you will need to modify owstimer.exe.config
    4. if you activate feature form powershell, most probably you will need to modify or create powershell.exe.config, but I didn't try it
    The most simple way which will work in all cases is to configure WCF proxy programmatically. See the following forum thread for details:
    How can I set an HTTP Proxy (WebProxy) on a WCF client-side Service proxy.

  • Compile Error in Enhanced For Loop

    I'm learning generic collections and for practice wrote a simple class that uses a HashMap to store data. However, I'm getting a compile error for the code that accesses the HashMap. The error and code for my class follow.
    Can anyone help?
    Thanks...
    =====================
    The compile error:
    =====================
    MapDict.java:37: package Map does not exist for( Map.Entry entry : glossary.entrySet()  )                        ^1 error=======================
    The code for my class:
    =======================
    import java.util.Scanner;
    import java.util.HashMap;
    public class MapDict
         HashMap<String, String> glossary = new HashMap<String, String>();
         public void getEntries()
              Scanner sc = new Scanner( System.in ).useDelimiter("\n");
              String moreEntries = "y";
              String word        = "";
              String definition  = "";
              while ( moreEntries.toUpperCase().equals( "Y") )
                   System.out.print("Enter word: ");
                   word = sc.next();
                   System.out.print("Enter definition: ");
                   definition = sc.next();
                   glossary.put( word, definition);
                   System.out.print("Another glossary item? (y/n) ");
                   moreEntries = sc.next();
         public void displayEntries()
              System.out.println( glossary.size() );
              // Here is where the compile error occurs:
              for( Map.Entry entry : glossary.entrySet()  )
                   System.out.println( "\nWord: " + entry.getKey() + " Definition: " + entry.getValue() );
    }

    import java.util.Scanner;
    import java.util.HashMap;I don't see java.util.Map or java.util.Map.Entry listed here....

  • Compiler error

    Two compiler error occurred when I progromed with LabView 6i to implement serial communication.

    Why? Thanx.

    Hello,
    I know that several 'compiler errors' were fixed in the LabVIEW 6.0.2 update. You can download this update from the NI website. After installing the update I recommend you perform a mass compile of your VIs. You can learn more about mass compiling in the LabVIEW on-line help.
    If after mass compiling in LabVIEW 6.0.2 you are still having problems, please let me know...if possible, please attach a simple VI that demonstrates the problem.
    Have a pleasant day.

    It looks to me like there is a bug in the logic that determines if the current statement is SQL (terminated by ";") or PL/SQL (terminated by "/") - putting the comment before the object type you are creating is causing SQL Developer to assume it is SQL and it stops the statement at the first ";".
    The same thing happens if you try to create a package with a comment between the "create or replace" and the "package", for example:
    create or replace
    -- comment
    package xxx_pkg
    i number;
    j number;
    end;
    /creates a package with the following source, executing as a statement (so long as the cursor is between the create and the first ";"):
    package xxx_pkg
    i numbertheFurryOne
