What a great day!!

I ordered a Macbook Pro, 2GHz 100gb HD/7200 yesterday morning and received an email from Apple today that I would be getting the same unit with the new 2.16 for the same price!! Yeah! I know, they cost the same but usually one would never expect a company (any company) to do the right thing and not try and stick me with some old inventory.
Thanks Apple. Now I'm SUPER stoked to get this little monster!
Macbook Pro 2.16GHz, G5 2GHz Dual, Pismo G4 550 & iMac G4 1Ghz   Mac OS X (10.4.6)
Macbook Pro 2GHz, G5 2GHz Dual, Pismo G4 550 & iMac G4 1Ghz   Mac OS X (10.4.6)

That is awesome, I didn't get a cake but I got a REALLY nice email:
"So, as I was running around this AM, jumping on to different computers and doing what I needed to do to keep parts moving, I had yet another “wow” moment at just how seamlessly everything on our network was working so that I could be as efficient as I was being.
A big thank you to you for all of your hard work—I know it is largely a thankless job that only gets noticed when something goes wrong, so just know that some of us do know and appreciate what you do to make this whole place keep humming.  There is a crazy amount of data that gets managed, and we wouldn’t be able to do it without your help, so thank you Angie!"
User didnt even know it was SysAdmin Day!!

I think it will take quite a while before reliable numbers are reported.  Be patient, and for questions like this prefer CrackBerry.com or some other site, as this isn't really a development-related question.  (I know, everyone, developers are interested in these numbers, but that doesn't make it a development-related question.  Other forums are better.)

  • LG Revere "What happened this day"...can it be disabled?

My wife has an LG Revere without data, since she doesn't use it.  Every day (or so), she'll get a pop-up of "What happened this day" that she can look at if she wants.
    She doesn't want it.
Is there any way to disable/remove this?

    @bigjuancrd
It's very annoying to receive a daily message or a pop up that you don't want on your device. Let's get this removed quickly.
Was this something that was downloaded to the device from the Media Center? Please check Menu>Media Center>Browse & Download. Do you see any applications about history?
It also may be a premium text message that has been signed up on the device. Does it comes in under messaging> Inbox? If so please reply with "STOP".
Let me know how that message shows up, so we can get this removed.
    Thank you

Hello People please can anyone tell me what time or day ??? the IOS7 will be released!!!!! thank you
Thanks Guys you resolved my issue !!!!!!!

September 18th is the day Apple announced iOS 7 would be released. Apple did not specify a time of day. Apple is headquartered in Cupertino, CA USA. So, it is still September 18th in the USA.

  • LifeBlog - what a great tool ! - One suggested imp...

I've just discovered LifeBlog and I wanted to say Congratulations to the Nokia Software Team - I have to say you would be a company I'd like to work for - this is the tool that I've been looking for since I've owned a mobile phone and now found - it's great !
One thing I've found using the program that would be REALLY useful is the ability to import past backups made from phone which aren't necessarily of the same model.
So for example, if I am running LifeBlog on my PC, and have used LifeBlog to transfer the contents of my N70 to my PC to create a timeline, it would be great to be able to generate a more complete timeline, by being able to import past backups made from the PC Suite software, both of my N70 at a particular point in the past, but also of previous phones - e.g. my Nokia 6230.
As far as I am aware the PC Suite files are *.nfb format and from what I remember of a previous posting on the Nokia development forums, Nokia have not made the format of this file public, so it should be possible to release another version of LifeBlog in the future which would have the ability to import messages etc. etc. from past backups ?
Once again - thanks for making this tool - it's great !
    Regards
    Edward
    Regards,
    Edward

I don't think you can CURRENTLY do it in LifeBlog (at least I haven't found a way to do it) - but it would be a useful function to have ...
Since Nokia wrote both LifeBlog AND Nokia Content Copier, they will have the file format information which is necessary for LifeBlog to be able to import NCC data

  • You Can't Calculate Totals on that!...SO #@!%#! WHAT, YOU GREAT PILE OF !@#

In Access you have an asterix which represents every field in the table. Useful if you want to see all the data in a table for a single record. I've done it a million times before.
So why is it telling me that I can't calculate totals on the *, so I should remove it from the query grid and replace it with the fields I want and calculate totals then.
I DON'T WANT TO CALCULATE ANY #!@%#@!! TOTALS!!
I AM PUTTING THE FIELDS I #@!%$#! WANT - I WANT ALL OF THEM!! I JUST DON'T WANT TO DOUBLE CLICK 30 TIMES WHEN ONCE WILL DO!
It's driving me insane because I'm going through hundreds of Oracle tables and it takes so long to browse to the record I'm looking for and it should work to use the asterix, I've done it so many times before.
How do I override this utterly unhelpful behaviour? Am I stuck in some sort of "Queries will only calculate Totals! mode that I don't know about?
I know, I know, Access is a micro$loth invention, not Oracle, but we have to use an ODBC link to the SQL database via Acces and it's going to kill me.
Unless I slam my PC into my neighbour's head first!
    Any help greatly apprciated.
    Sorry for the rant!
    Cheers

    Cheers,
I am serious and I know this isn't an Access site, and I know there are differences between SQL in Access and SQL in Oracle, and I'm trying to get funding to do some proper SQL and VBA training, but if anyone can help I'd be very grateful. What? with the funding? Sorry, there's a credit crisis doncha know! ;)
In the Access/ODBC/Oracle query design view you can create a query by linking fields in tables and then choosing fields you want to output in the query results. At the top of each table is an asterix which uses all the fields from the entire table in a query and outputs the data from all the fields. I'm looking through various tables to find useful fields and using one particular record as my example so I get consistent data output.
Now, I can look in the actual linked tables and see what they contain, but I want the data for a single record, not the general table contents and there are hundreds of thousands of records. So I'm using the query design to search for the data for a single record and using only one table per query. But if I double click on the asterix to indicate "Use All Fields from this Tabel" I get the "But you can't calculate totals on that!" message. If I add them all individually I get an "Illegal use of LONG data".I once looked at Access, many moons ago. Didn't like it.
However, from what you describe, it would seem that you need to somehow join the tables as you're doing, but also apply some restrictions on the data so that you're not trying to retieve all the rows back. As for it's error complaining about the totals, I would expect something like you've got an aggregate function in there and things aren't being grouped together. Either that or there's some "setting" somewhere that automatically tries to total things, which hopefully you could turn off. The best thing is to take the error message/number and lookup what that means via some website/documentation that lists Access errors and how to resolve them.
You'll be lucky to find anyone here who will know (or care about) Access.

  • What is causing day old notifications to repeat along with new notifications?

About a year ago my Instagram began repeating a old notification, it repeated along with a new notification. It was never consistent, it stopped then started, went on for a couple hours or sometimes all day. Nothing that I was doing caused or stopped the notifications. The notification was different everyday. I have screenshots. I googled around, all I could gather was that very few people were coming forward with similar problems and little information about what was causing it was available. I was using my iPod 5th gen. This is what it the repeat notification would look like,

I signed into my account on my husbands phone and watched for repeat notifications but it never happened once. I made a new account with Instagram thinking my account may have been hacked. But it never stopped.
I called apple, my iPod still being under warranty I had a free call or something. I blabbed away, happy to tell someone who would perhaps help me. Only to get cut off 5 minutes in getting no help whatsoever. I never called back. I upgraded with my cable/internet company and had a new modem or router ( unsure what the difference is) delivered. It was over a week before the notifications began again. I called again and had my modem reset but It continued.
Meanwhile, I had noticed a lag in the response time while typing, I'm trying to say that I could type entire sentences before my iPod would catch up.This is when I started watching my crash logs, looking for anything that might help me understand why this was happening. That's when I found "Bad magic", a mysterious process(?). A google search brought up nada. I posted on a developer forum asking "What is Bad magic" and I was told by one person that he'd never heard tell of it and to report it to the bug reporter. I never did, because I don't know how.  I have screenshots. But I don't know how to load them. Here is a piece of one of the logs. Listed under  ExcResource_MobileSafari.

Since then, I have purchased a brand new 5s, it was a fresh start, I knew there was no possible way I would have any problems because it was new. That was less than two months ago. • What does next day Onsite Warranty mean - My Case was not actioned for 3 days

I have Lenovo Next Day Onsite warranty support with Lenovo on my Laptop adn opened a case for an issue with Case number A07S43D - The problem was the Laptop is dead - not powering on at all.
This issue was raised on July 14 2014 and has not been fixed till July 21 2014. I have been calling Lenovo like crazy and getting to the Customer care after long wait. Last 2 days, I have been advised that I will get the technician to fix it next day but both the times, they have not come.
What is the relevance of the agreement that Lenovo has with customers when we pay the extra cost to get 3 years of onsite next day support when Lenovo cannot follow it. Why give wrong advise?
Any help with escalations. How does Lenovo compensate the customers for not adhering to the terms of the agreement?

error code 1009 seems odd code
but there's a similar error from apple support website that has troubleshooting steps

What mail program are you operating? What version? I have Apple's Mail v. 1.3.11 (OS X 10.3.9) program running and in my inbox I see both the date and time received and date and time sent. If that's the program you are using, is your column wide enough to display both date & time? If not, widen the column by pointing to the right column divider line and drag it farther to the right. Also, the date is on the extreme left, the time on the extreme right of the column, so if your column is very wide you might not see the time unless you scroll to the right or expand the window.

  • What time are day by day shows released ?

SO iTunes store says it will sell certain shows (in this case 'Passions') on a day by day basis. I want todays (10/1/06) but the latests they have up is yesterdays. What time will the 10/1/06 show become avaliable for purchase, and will I be able to get it on the same date, or acctually have to wait a full day ? Anyone ?

I went through this twice this past Summer. When we got one for my husband, there were many of all configurations available. We had it in less than a week. Then when my younger son quickly decided to get the same (ipad2 64 gb) we checked many times a day for about six weeks! I almost got to the point where we were going to buy one with cellular for $79.00 more just so he'd have it for school. There was never a shortage of cellular ipads in 16, 32, or 64 gb's. And then it showed up just in time for him to get it before he took off back to college.
Don't give up. Most likely what you want will come back up. There were times during the Summer when I wondered if they were holding some back from the refurb store because they were pushing the old 'new' ipad, giving students a discount on those (and given the Nov. 2012 release of the ipad 3 that would make sense.) I'm guessing that they'll be more than happy to get rid of all now in the refurb store.
Just checked the store. Jonathan Burger is right. It seems as if every size, black and white, with and without cellular, and Verizon or ATT, is on the site. If it makes it easier, in the store, scroll down to refurb store, then click on wi-fi only to see less clutter on the page, then do the same with cellular if that's what you want.
    Hope this helps.

  • Apple Care - what a great thing

    Hello to the mac family,
I realize that this forum is mainly for problem solving but this is important to me and may help others.
Recently we had a problem on my son's G-4 I-Book. It was a strange problem with one web site used by my son for his college mail.
I remembered that I had purchased a 3 year "Apple Care" protection and called them.
I am so impressed with their help. We tried so many things and they never got discouraged. It took 3 calls continuing our case but the problem is fixed and my son's computer is all updated etc.
The last Tech..."Matt I think was his name" was like a Pit Bull.
He was determined to fix the problem and make us happy. He never got discouraged when things didn't work. He just had the attitude...OK let's try this next. They were all great. This to many would have been a minor problem and could have been fixed by using FireFox, but my son likes Safari.
I just wanted to post and let people know....the "Apple Care" is a great protection and peace of mind. I don't usually buy protecion plans on peripherals and nome appliances but I amd glad I got it for the computer.....mGb.......Jim

Although this post was more of a comment, I felt it was important to express my happiness in the fact that the reps were great and the problem is fixed 100%.
I posted so that others may consider purchasing "Apple Care" in the future. Computers are expensive I realize but the peace of mind of AC was ell worth it.
I marked this as answered so that it can be removed or filed away...Jim. S.

  • How do I find out what time of day an email received prior to today was sent?

Internet Explorer shows the time of day all emails were originated, but on Firefox I only see it for emails originated the same day that I'm reading them. Is there a way to see the origination time for all emails?

That information would be in the ''' "header" ''' of each email you receive. You need to figure out how to display that information in whatever you're using to display your email. Look for a button or menu item for "Display Header". <br /> Firefox doesn't "do" email, it's a web browser.
If you are using Firefox to access your mail, you are using "web-mail". You need to seek support from your service provider or a forum for that service.
If your problem is with Mozilla Thunderbird, see this forum for support.

  • What Time of Day Does Apple Release a Product?

    Hello,
I want to pre-order the Apple Watch on April 10th. I want to order it as early as possible, so I can receive it as soon as possible. My question is if Apple will release the product at 12:00AM on the 10th, or some time later like 6:00AM. From my previous product history, with the iPhone 5S, It was available to buy, (not pre-order), by 7:30 AM. Any ideas?
    Thanks!

    Hi...
    Safari > Preferences > RSS
Every 30 minutes is as often Safari can update RSS articles.
AFAIK, it's not possible to set it up for a specific time of day.
You might check Safari > Safari Extensions. Might be something under Productivity under Categories.
