What about Turn by Turn directions in Maps?

I though there was going to be Turn by Turn directions in Maps, I can't find this.

and about turn by turn i am getting directions also with my gps..
just go on directions try to get a direction to where ever you want to go and it shows turns like take >left or right after 100 meter
The iPhone has had this from day one. The problem is that it illegal to use the phone like this while driving in a lot of countries. What I think people want is turn by turn without having to step through directions manually. TomTom are providing this.

  • Direct Context Mapping of an interface controller

    Hi all,
I want get 2 or 3 context attributes from an interface controller of another component. I can see the attributes that I want in the interface controller of the other component. I've been reading SAP documents and other posts and everything is concepts. How can I access those attributes to get the data. I've been reading and it sounds like you can do direct context mapping and external. I'm pretty sure what I need is the direct context mapping. The other component is an SAP component (LO_OIF_MAIN_COMP) and I can not make any interface methods of the component controller. So the only way that I can figure is to either call/make reference to the interface controller and get the attributes... but I can not figure out how to do it. Please help. I've been researching this for several hours now... and in my mind it seems like a pretty concept. Thanks.

    Hi,
I guess this seems to be WD compoent usage. you can use the steps mentioned in any article for e.g. WD ALV component usage and find out how the context mapping is done.

  • Google maps turn by turn directions no longer interrupts iTunes music player in iOS7

I often use Google Maps app when I travel while simultaneously listening to music. I have my iPhone connected to my car stereo via the Lightning port. In iOS6, when Google would give turn by turn directions the music volume would duck and the voice guided navigation would play through the car stereo. After updating to iOS7, this feature no longer works. With both iTunes and Google Maps open, the music volume is always dimmed and voice guided navigation is always off.
I do not notice this issue with Apple's Maps app. So far it appears to work properly and I am using this as a work around. However there are several reasons I favor Google Maps as a superior solution for the moment. For example, if I ask for directions to a specific location such as a local business Google is able to provide this information 90% of the time. By comparison, the same query with Siri usually results in having to search the web for an address first and then having to go back and ask for directions to that specific street address. It is a minor inconvenience, but it is enough of a hassle that I tend to stick with the better content of Google Maps for now.
Perhaps this bug is iOS7 related or perhaps the issue is with the Google Maps app. Either way, I am reporting because I'd love to see it fixed. I have noticed several bugs (this being one of many that I am reporting) since upgrading to iOS7 which has been very disappointing. I am a huge Apple advocate and this has not been the experience of "It just works" that I have come to expect from my Apple products. It is because I care so much about the Apple ecosystem that has made my work and play so much more enjoyable that I will take the time to report these in hopes that Apple will take notice and that subsequent updates will address these issues.

I never did. Partly I believe it's the interaction with my car's bluetooth connection and instructions it sends the phone when they connect. It seems like if I actively QUIT all applications that could play audio (SiriusXM, Podcasts, Music), then I can get the directions without any music. (That said, the SiriusXM app doesn't always play nice. If any of these are open, not even playing, then they start up when I select bluetooth audio on my car stereo. But I still can't tell the audio to stop without it muting either Google Maps or Apple's Maps. They both behave the same way.

  • As much as I love turn-by-turn directions, I'm very disappointed in the quality of map directions from Apple in iOS-6

I love the turn-by-turn directions.  But some of the mistakes the new iOS-6 maps (the Apple version that replaces the Google Maps app) - they're the sign of an immature product.  Are other people finding the same?
Examples of what I got int the Apple iOS-6 maps application:
    1) In Hood River, Oregon (with location awareness on), I searched for Tucker -- I was expecting to get Tucker County Park (3 miles away).  The results I got were Tucker, Georgia, Tuckers Rock, Bellingen NSW (Australia), Tucker Hills, Brooksville FL.   Totally useless.  I was looking for results near me, not world wide.   Google maps immediately found the one closest to me as the first result (the correct location, Tucker County Park).
    2) In Rockaway Beach, Oregon, I searched for directions to Nehalem Bay State Park campground.   The iPhone iOS-6 mapping app gave me directions to a location in Brighton, Oregon, across the bay from the state park - 9.5 miles short of the actual destination (you have to drive around the bay to get there).  The comment at the top of the map was "This route ends on the road nearest to the selected destination.".  Of course, Google maps got me all the way there, taking me the rest of the distance around the bay, through all the turns and intersections to get me to my destination.
Am I the only one thinking - cool product, but not yet ready for prime time?  What happened Apple?  This is very disappointing, and not up to snuff.

Apple is aware, and they have issued a statement to that effect.  They're working it.

  • Maps turn by turn directions

Hey you know when you ask Siri to give you directions she opens up  maps and the app automatically zooms into the route(turn by turn directions). And when I ask her to give me directions maps doesn't zoom in the route it just gives me overview and I have to click start to actually start the turn by turn directions and zoom in the route. Not that it's a big deal I don't mind clicking the start button but how do I make it to zoom in and start the turn by turn navigation automatically as soon as I open up the app?(So I don't have to click the start button).

If the iPad is cellular 4G.... Yes it does.

  • Turn by turn directions with ios6 map aren't coming through my bluetooth.

I don't get turn by turn directions with the new ios6 map through my bluetooth.  My bluetooth shows up on the on the map and it's checked.  When I check phone I get audio through the phone.  When I check bluetooth I get no audio.  My bluetooth continues to work fine for calls.

Same issue in my 2011 Highlander with iPhone 5.  Both Toyota and Apple blame the other guy.  I use the same workaround mentioned above: play an audio track through the music app and turn-by-turn will play as well.  It also lowers the music for you when giving directions.  I actually took this one step further and made a blank mp3 file that I play on repeat for when I just want turn-by-turn without the distraction of music.  This workaround works with any app that streams audio, e.g. I use Slacker Radio as well.  Similarly, niether Google Maps, nor MapQuest will provide turn-by-turn audio without music streaming. Let's hope they fix this.

  • Volume on Google maps turn directions iOS 7.0.3

Is there any way of increasing the volume for turn directions on the above. My research so far indicates a volume control on the bottom RH corner of turn directions but this does not appear on my screen.

    Settings>Maps>navigation voive volume?
That option is not available with 7.0.3

  • IOS 6 updated on my 3GS phone. The maps works well but does not give spoken turn by turn directions. Any ideas on how to make this work?

Installed iOS6 on my 3GS phone. The maps app works well, but does not give spoken turn by turn directions.
Any ideas on how to fix this?

Go to http://www.apple.com/ios/maps/ and look at the bottom: Turn-by-turn navigation is available only on iPhone 4S, iPhone 5, and iPad 2 or later with cellular data capability. Flyover is available only on iPhone 4S, iPhone 5, iPad 2 or later, and iPod touch (5th generation). Cellular data charges may apply.
You can always use the WAZE app like I do.

  • What is the setting for Siri to give audible turn by turn directions?

Have figured out how to get turn by turn directions but they are not audible.  Keep missing turns while trying to read on phone.  Not the safest way to drive.

I didn't think Siri could give turn by turn directions. For that you need a dedicated app that provides this feature.

  • My old droid offered turn by turn directions just like a GPS nav system. I can't find that feature on the 4s, does it exist?

It seems that the 4s does not offer GPS style navigation with turn by turn directions and alerts when approaching waypoints. Am I missing something or is this a case of needing to purchase a separate app? If the latter is the case, that becomes a strike for this phone (so far the only thing I can say is lacking)

You can get this functionallity with the Maps app but it
is pretty basic and requires an internet connection,
pretty much what the NAV option on Google Maps
on Androids does.  And like on the Android, it doesn't
    automatically recalculate the route.
There are several different apps available at the app
store with a very wide range of price.  Some rely on
an internet connection at all times for maps, some do initial
route downloads but require internet if a detour is encountered,
    and others download complete maps.
Personally I have downloaded the Garmin USA system
and it works quite well and is pretty much the same experience
as using a dedicated Garmin GPS.
There is a catagory Navigation in the app store.  Browse to your
    hearts content.

  • How do you stop turn-by-turn directions

I love the new phone and it has some great upgrades from my old 4. One app which I really appreciate is the turn-by-turn directions with the map app. It is set so you can use Siri to set up directions to any location. However, I can't figure out how to turn it off without double clicking and killing the whole app. Does anyone know of a code word or other way to make it stop navigating?

Tap on the screen in the maps app and select the "end" button on the top left corner.

  • Can I get turn by turn directions said out loud?

Iuse my iphone in the car to play music and I like the maps app.  I was lost recently and tried to use my phone for directions.  I pulled over and put the place in, and started driving.  The phoner would not say the directions out loud.  Driving and looking down at directions was too dangerous and seemed counterproductive.  Is there a way to make the directions app say turn by turn directions or is there another app for that?

You would need to purchase one of the several navigation programs available in the App Store. They basically turn your iPhone into a sat-nav device.
I personally use MotionX GPS Drive, and I am very happy with its performance.

  • I have read the thread about turning off dialpad sounds when calling a number. I used to always be able to do this on my 4S but not so since the latest software on the 5. Keyboard clicks are turned off and still have dialpad sound. I've NEVER had to mute.

I really do not think it is the iPad or your network connection. Other users have reported this very same issue. Try this and see if it works for you - it may not work - but it's easy to try - harmless - and it has worked in the past for others.
Try signing out of your account and restart your iPad.
Go to Settings>Store>Apple ID and tap the ID and sign out. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button. Go back to Settings>Store> Apple ID and sign in again.

  • HT5429 How do I turn on or turn off my voice turn by turn directions. I seem to have turned it off and don't know how to get back on.

How do I turn on or turn off my voice turn by turn directions. I seem to have turned it off, but can't find a way to turn it back on. I have checked the volume levels and that my phone is not on silent.
    Thanks for any help!

You must activate the iPad within iTunes on your computer. Make sure you have the latest version of iTunes on your computer (read the minimum requirements for the iPad printed on the iPad box) and connect the iPad to your computer with the supplied cable to a 2.0 USB port - not a port on a hub- a port on your computer. iTunes should start and take you through the process.
iTunes on the iPad is a store where you purchase media - it is not the music player. The iPod app is the music player. Both apps are pre installed on the iPad.
