What are the repercussions with removing my husbands icloud account info from my iPad?

What are the repercussions with removing my husbands icloud account info from my iPad?

Hahaha. Yes everything's ok on that front. I'm just not great at sharing my toys, so I wanted everything on my iPad to be in my name (not selfish at all, is it?). Anyway, was just concerned that if I removed that info, I might lose a whole bunch of stuff on there. I've since learned that I can keep his icloud account and " disable" the fields that I don't want to share (contacts, email) and keep the ones that I do (photos). Excuse my ignorance, I'm still a rookie on the iPad front.
So, that being said, I suppose I can tolerate his info being in my icloud. ;)
Thanks for your help Barry!

  • What are the options "alert" and "passes" under my account info?

    Hi guys, I was going on viewing my account info, and I happened to see some options which I have no idea what are their usage? Can someone tell me what is the option "passes" and "alert" for? Thank you

    Passes will list any season passes you have purchased and still have some left to get.
    Alerts is to notify you of new music from artists you select.
    Go to the artist page in iTunes and scroll to the bottom and click on *Alert me*.

  • What are the ramifications of removing owa.num_cgi_vars :=0; ??

    Hello All,
    Hoping someone can help me with this...
    changed my character set from WE8ISO8859P1 to AL32UTF8.
    After this many pl/sql procedures would fail with:
    ERROR Message:
    ERROR at line 1:
    ORA-06502: PL/SQL: numeric or value error: character string buffer too small
    ORA-06512: at "SYS.HTP", line 1526

    ORA-06512: at "SYS.HTP", line 594
    ORA-06512: at line 5
    The fix from Oracle was:
    SQL> set serveroutput on
    begin
    owa.num_cgi_vars := 0;
    HTP.HTBUF_LEN := 84;
    htp.init;
    htp.htmlopen;
    htp.p(rpad('.',128,'.'));
    htp.htmlclose;
    owa_util.showpage;
    end;
    This works fine for most of our applications, however some only work ok when I take out the owa.num_cgi_vars := 0;
    above.
    I'd like to remove it altogether as it works for both sets of applications when I take that line out.
    What are the ramifications of removing owa.num_cgi_vars := 0; ??
    What is it doing?
    Thanks so much in advance!

    What is it doing?The question is WTF ARE YOU DOING!?
    It seems you are clueless as to what a web-enabled procedure is. How these need to be called and used. And not calling these from a proper environment. And what, do you copy the entire HTML buffer (in expensive PGA server memory) to the DBMS_OUTPUT buffer (in expensive PGA server memory) in order for the client to access the HTML output?
    As for that static variable. It sets the number of CGI (Common Gateway Interface) parameters that are the in the CGI name-value arrays.

  • So what are the advantages with Intel?

    What are the advantages/disadvantages with these new Intel processors? Sheesh, I just bought a new laptop and now its outdated lol. Looks like I will try to seel this sucker, and buy the new ones when everything seems to stop updating at Apple...

    Basic Advantages... Faster speeds, lower heat. This makes any portable computer very happy.
    Basic Disadvantages... software compatibility problems? Native PowerPC applications now run in a sort of emulation mode. Users may need to migrate to software which runs natively on Intel Macs, or has Universal Binaries available. Could be an additional cost to the user.
    and buy the new ones when everything seems to stop updating at Apple...
    Stops updating?! If you wait for that, you'll never make a purchase. Technology changes very quickly, and it's nearly impossible to have the latest model for any decent length of time before it is updated.
    Keep in mind... when machines get updated, that does NOT mean the previous model is obsolete.
    I'm sure your current computer is still just as good as the day you bought it. No one is forcing you to upgrade.
    If your machine still suits your needs, then stay with it. I'm sure I'll get another 2-3 years of solid happy use from my G4 Powerbook.

    Database in 11g will now act as PDB's in 12c.
    And what makes you say so? What about the changes/fixes done in the optimizer that would alter the plans? What about if the client wants to use in-memory database option? And your statement that database in 11g will now act as PDB in 12c doesn't make any sense. What if the client is not willing to move to multitenancy? What about the scripts that are running in 11g without any issues and suddenly, will break in 12c  due to PDB's ? Do you have any technical reference to validate your claim that there won't be any impact ?

    On all browsers and all websites that I go to I keep getting these annoying popup survey requests.

    You may have installed the "VSearch" trojan, perhaps under a different name. Remove it as follows.
    Malware is constantly changing to get around the defenses against it. The instructions in this comment are valid as of now, as far as I know. They won't necessarily be valid in the future. Anyone finding this comment a few days or more after it was posted should look for more recent discussions or start a new one.
    Back up all data before proceeding.
    Triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it:
    /Library/LaunchAgents/com.vsearch.agent.plist
    Right-click or control-click the line and select
              Services ▹ Reveal in Finder (or just Reveal)
    from the contextual menu.* A folder should open with an item named "com.vsearch.agent.plist" selected. Drag the selected item to the Trash. You may be prompted for your administrator login password.
    Repeat with each of these lines:
    /Library/LaunchDaemons/com.vsearch.daemon.plist
    /Library/LaunchDaemons/com.vsearch.helper.plist
    /Library/LaunchDaemons/Jack.plist
    Restart the computer and empty the Trash. Then delete the following items in the same way:
    /Library/Application Support/VSearch
    /Library/PrivilegedHelperTools/Jack
    /System/Library/Frameworks/VSearch.framework
    ~/Library/Internet Plug-Ins/ConduitNPAPIPlugin.plugin
    Some of these items may be absent, in which case you'll get a message that the file can't be found. Skip that item and go on to the next one.
    From the Safari menu bar, select
              Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Extensions
    Uninstall any extensions you don't know you need, including any that have the word "Spigot," "Trovi," or "Conduit" in the description. If in doubt, uninstall all extensions. Do the equivalent for the Firefox and Chrome browsers, if you use either of those.
    Reset the home page and default search engine in all the browsers, if it was changed.
    This trojan is distributed on illegal websites that traffic in pirated content. If you, or anyone else who uses the computer, visit such sites and follow prompts to install software, you can expect much worse to happen in the future.
    You may be wondering why you didn't get a warning from Gatekeeper about installing software from an unknown developer, as you should have. The reason is that this Internet criminal has a codesigning certificate issued by Apple, which causes Gatekeeper to give the installer a pass. Apple could revoke the certificate, but as of this writing, has not done so, even though it's aware of the problem. This failure of oversight has compromised both Gatekeeper and the Developer ID program. You can't rely on Gatekeeper alone to protect you from harmful software.

  • What are the steps to remove SMS Provider traces from a server

    Hi,
    My client's environment is set up with a standalone primary site. They decided to install a second SMS Provider on a site system also running the Reprting Services Point to provide redundancy in the case the SMS Provider on the primary site
    would go down.
    They experienced a problem with the server running the second SMS Provider and it went down for about a day. The behavior for SCCM console users was to get an error message preventing them to connect to SCCM; they had to close the console and re-launch it
    so it would randomly connect to the SMS provider on the primary site successfully. When a SMS provider is down, it seems the console won't redirect itself automatcally to another provider when trying to connect.
    Since it was causing some frustration because console users had to launch it several times before they could connect, someone removed the second SMS Provider using the Site Maintenance wizard on the primary site. The thing is the wizard ran while the second
    SMS Provider was down, it removed traces of this SMS Provider from the site configuration, but couldn't remove the actual SMS Provider files and registry entries since the server was down.
    Now, only one SMS Provider is active on the primary site server, but we have orphaned SMS Provider files and registry keys on the site system server. Is there a way to remove them cleanly? The site system is still running the Reporting Services Point, so
    we cannot remove everything related to SCCM.
    Now we prefer to keep a single SMS Provider on the primary site server, since SCCM is not consider critical to the business anyway, and to avoid this issue in the future.
    My guess would be to reinstall the SMS Provider from the Site Maintenance wizard and remove it after, but I just want to have feedback from people who might have deal with it in the past.
    Tnx for help
    Patrick

    Hi,
    Could you install the SMS Provider from the Site Maintenance wizard while SMS Provider files and registry entries are still there? Please have a look on the thread below, although it is for sccm 2007.

  • I am changing ISPs and will be dropping two email addresses I use as AppleID's.  Can I keep them as AppleID's and use a rescue e-mail address from a new ISP?  What are the downsides if I have an iCloud address as an alias under one of those addresses?

    I am about to change internet service providers and will be dropping two e-mail addresses that I use as Apple ID’s.  One is used solely for iTunes and the other is used for iCloud, mail, calendars, etc.  The second has two iCloud email address as aliases.  I will be going to a new ISP and will establish an e-mail address from that ISP as a backup in case the iCloud addresses are not available.
      It has been suggested to me that I should continue to use the e-mail addresses from the old ISP as my Apple ID’s.  And that I use the e-mail address from the new ISP as a rescue e-mail address for those Apple ID’s to get any communications relating to the ID’s. That seems like a simple and straight-forward way of handling the change and would minimize the chance of complications from changing the Apple ID’s.  But, are there any downsides to handling the change in this way?  If so, what are they?

    You can continue to use them as Apple ID's, change the rescue address (as you know)
    You can use your iCloud address, but it won't be an alias, it's a full email address.

  • What are the steps to follow before disabling iCloud?

    After working a while with my iMac running Mountain Lion in combination with iCloud, I have to disable iCloud because I'm going across the ocean for a while. I don't want to end up with a huge bill because every time I use my iPhone, it will sync (while no Wi-Fi available).
    As a matter of fact, I already archived my Contacs, Calanders and Reminders (Notes doesn't have such a feature), but it seems to put everything back to the iCloud account after importing.
    My question is: What is the step-by-step approach to disable iCloud (both iPhone and iMac) without losing any data?
    Many thanks in advance!
    Cheers,
    GJ

    Thanks a lot, mende1!
    It works. (Only Notes is set up differently, but that's not a real issue for me.)
    If I do the same on my iMac, I don't get that question. Is there a possibility to restore these data from my iPhone to my iMac?

    Can I suggest posting this question in the iPhoto forum?  There are some true iPhoto wizards there who probably know the answer to your question.

  • Custom tables create in Apps schema ( What are the problems with this?)wwww

    Hello all,
    I'm a dba in a new environment where a number of custom schemas are being created in the apps schema. I know this is not considered Oracle's best practice and I would like to make some recommendations for a change. Before doing so, I would like to know the problems that are associated with custom tables living in the apps schema. We are currently on 11.5.10.2 on AIX. Also, if someone can point me to any "Official" customization standard or Oracle documention where I can backup my case it would be greatly appreciated.

  • What are the settings for using an ATT mail account with iPad mail?

    Dear Folks,
    I just switched from earthlink to att, and I can't seem to get Mail configured quite right. I can send email just fine, via stmp.att.yahoo.com. But when I try to receive email it tells me it can't connect to pop.att.yahoo.com.
    Since I can send OK, I figure my email address and password have to be good, so most likely I'm using the wrong POP server address.
    Would someone like to give me a clue?
    Thanks!

    Am having similar problems. Outgoing settings work on our iBook, using home wireless net, but the same settings do not work on our iPad. Why is this, and can anything be done to fix this?
    I am connected to our AT&T DSL modem via Ethernet cable. the modem is the wireless type, also.
    INCOMING: pop.att.yahoo.com

    OUTGOING: smtp.att.yahoo.com
    USERNAME: [name]@sbcglobal.net

    I entered this info into the iPad before syncing it and have tried many permutations to no avail. Talking to AT&T did no good as they suggested coming out and changing settings in the DSL modem, which would have precluded using it normally, and would have made it impossible to connect elsewhere with the iPad. D'oh!
    Apple doesn't have an answer as we spent a couple of hours with one of their "GENIUSES" and after asking his supervisor about it we left with only the mobileme capability. We can access the internet tho, just not use our own email address.
    All I can say is HELP--HELP--HELP--HELP--HELP--HELP--HELP--HELP--HELP--HELP-!!
    P.S. A family member who just left Apple told me that the next OS is going to be called "LION, OS7!"

  • What are the ramifications of removing items from Usage Settings?

    When attempting to download and install the latest upgrade to my iPad, I received a message that I needed at least 3.8 GB to install the upgrade.  Then it recommended removing items in the Usage Settings.
    I'm primarily concerned the process could disrupt my large music library.
    If I backup my iPad, remove the music from the iPad Usage Settings, and install the upgrade, can I then restore the music?

    " ... restore the music" -- to your iPad?
    The upgrade requires more space than the older software you have.  You should plan to keep less data on your iPad than you had before the upgrade.
