What are the two copper spots on the left side of my 8830?

Are they charging ports for a desktop charger? can't find it in the documentation anywhere.
Thanks

  • What are the down sides with very big SGA?

    Hi
I have a heavy 9.2.0.8 64-bit database with very high dataloading and reporting having 24G SGA, 80 dual core CPU solaris 9. I would like to figure out what are the down sides of very big SGAs, and/or if increases the SGA.
    Thanks

My question was not for a particular performance issue. I am thinking in different possibilities to improve to the best performance. I have statspack configured and we do tuning according to the stats.
Are you able to anlyze few spreport and give me your comments?Usually you have one or more particular issues that are worth to look into, e.g. particular standard reports that take longer than expected, batch runs that don't complete within the given timeframe, end-users complaining about ad-hocs reports taking too long, transactions that start to time out during peak workloads etc. etc.
If you're just interested in someone checking the current state/health of your system it's probably worth a try to post the most important parts of some statspack reports that you determine to be most representative for your system load. There are definitely some contributers here participating that should be able to provide some valuable insights.
I think it's always good to remember that the most significant performance improvement of a system is achieved by letting it do less work resp. avoid unnecessary work. So if you're e.g. able to reduce the logical I/O performed by the top n SQLs that put the most workload on your system significantly you usually gain much more than by just adding more and more memory/CPU to your system. Of course this is not the case if this kind of tuning has already been performed thoroughly but there is usually much room for improvement in this field.

  • T23 - What are the plastic side rails & adapter needed for drives to fit in the Ultrabay?

Does anyone know the part numbers for the plastic side rails and adapter required to be attached to a bare CD or DVD drive in order for it to fit in the Ultrabay and connect?  I have a bare Sony DVD RW replacement drive with the correct "notched" bezel.  I know most people just strip off the adapter and plastic side rails from an existing IBM/Lenovo Thinkpad CD drive and put them on the new drive.  But I was wanting a second set to I could keep both the T23's (a 2647)  DVD CDR original drive and the new DVD RW drive.

I've never run into part numbers (i.e., FRU) for the Ultrabay rails and I've changed out my fair share of them.  What I basically do is buy "dead" or "parts" optical drives off of eBay and then scavenge the rails and IDE connector.  I believe that there are at least two very slightly different designs; the thickness of the side rails is what changes.  It's never gotten to the point where the re-fitted drive doesn't fit into the Ultrabay but, depending on the drive and rails in question, there may be too much or too little space inside the bay.  Also, you should be careful when transferring screws from one drive to another.  I've found that on some drives, if the rear screws (the ones which hold the connector on the back of the drive) are slightly too long, then that can prevent the tray from closing.

  • HT204053 What are the pros and cons of 1) choosing to use the SAME Apple ID for iCloud services on one side, and purchases on the iTunes Store, App Store, and iBookstore, on the other side; or 2) to have and use two separate Apple Ids for these "two sides

All is in the title, so I repeat it below with a better identation.
What are the pros and cons of
    1) choosing to use the SAME
Apple ID for iCloud services on one side, and
purchases on the iTunes Store, App Store, and iBookstore, on the other side; or
    2) to have and use two separate Apple Ids for these "two sides"?
    P.S.
I have loads and loads of free podcasts in iTunes in my iMac, that are certainly more thant the 5 gigas the iCloud provides for free, so I don't want those to go to the cloud. But this is perhaps a different question...
Also need to mention that I have itunes on a mac, a pc and an iphone.
Sorry to look so silly with this question, but I don't get the "big picture".

You need to create a user account for your wife (or yourself depending on who has the current user account). When syncing, each of you should sign in as a separate user, login to iTunes and then sync. I had this problem when my sister got an iPhone. When we did her initial sync, everything on my iPhone showed up on hers. Apple gave me this solution.

    Hi Experts,
I am keen in knowing about Soa Suite 11g. SOA Suite 10g and SOA Suite 11g, BPEL changes? what are the major changes in these two product/tool wise? Is now OSB is part of Soa Suite 11g? it would be helpful for us to know what are the major changes and updates or modifications came in 11g.
    Please share this valuable information.
Is there still any version is in progress from Oracle, which is yet to be officially launched from oracle?

what are the major changes in these two product/tool wise? Few major changes to enlist are that SOA suite 10g was using Oracle Application Server (OC4J) however 11g is on Weblogic and 11g is based on SCA. B2B is now part of SOA suite itself and OSB can share a domain with SOA. You may refer below link to know few more -

  • I just purchased an extreme.  I have an express.  The sales guy recommended setting up a hot spot with the express and use the extreme as a base station.  What does he mean and how do I do this?  What are the advantages?

I just purchased an extreme.  I have an express.  The sales guy recommended setting up a hot spot with the express and use the extreme as a base station.  What does he mean and how do I do this?  What are the advantages?  How do I set this up?????

I think he means to set up the main extreme as the main router or "main base station", and then use the express to "extend" the network.
You can look up the manual for your express here for more details:
    http://support.apple.com/manuals/
Extend the range of your network by adding AirPort Express to your existing AirPortExtreme or AirPort Express wireless network (this is called a Wireless DistributionSystem, or WDS). "
Extending the Range of an Existing AirPort Extreme or
    AirPort Express Network
You can extend the range of an existing AirPort Extreme or AirPort Express wirelessnetwork by setting it up in a WDS. Wireless computers can connect to the network andshare the Internet connection, share files, and play network games. If you connect yourAirPort Express to your home stereo, computers on your wireless network can useAirTunes to play music on the stereo from iTunes. If you connect a USB printer to yourAirPort Express, all of the computers on the network can print to it.
n Open the AirPort Setup Assistant on a Macintosh, or the AirPort Express Assistant on acomputer using Windows XP. Follow the onscreen instructions to extend the range ofyour AirPort Extreme or AirPort Express network.
Note: Extending the range of a network using WDS may reduce overall networkperformance.

  • What are the terms of a two year contract?

I am trying to get information for my mother so she can start me on a plan, and I wanted to know a few things. When on a two year contract do you get charged fee's if you don't pay your bill right away? Or does your phone just turn off and stays off until you can pay your bill?
I also wanted to know how you pay a two year contract bill. Is it like $50 dollars a month? What are the rates?
Thank you for your help and time

The late fee is $5.  No your phone won't get cut off right away. If you do it too many times it might. Why are you already thinking about not paying a bill BEFORE you even have service?
HOW do you pay? You can mail the payment in, pay it online, pay it pay phone or go to a Verizon store.
$50 a month? HA! Your cost will depend on what you want.
If you wan to know the rates go the the home page of the site.

If zsyy_ocecs.cm_subs_subscriber table returns one row for each servnumber, both statements would return the same data. But if there was a servnumber value on two rows, the first statement will throw an error (you a comparing a value with a set of values). You can rewrite the first query to avoid this:
    select * from counter where eboxid in (select acctid from zsyy_ocecs.cm_subs_subscriber where servnumber = ?);
Conceptually they are different and the execution plan can't be the same.

  • HT5219 What are the external monitor requirements that can support having two windows email and safari open side by side?

I have a 27" iMac at home that supports this but would like to see if I can enable my Macbook air to do the same thing.  I want to find out if this capability can be supported with my Macbook air and if so what are the monitor requirements.

Usually two causes of that, the first being the windows dpi scaling (most common cause) and the second being your graphics card driver needs to be updated.
Try playing with the windows dpi settings
Right click on your Desktop and select Screen Resolution
Then in the screen that comes up, click on Make Text or Other Items Larger or Smaller
Then move the slider under Change the Size of All Items to Smaller and restart windows 8
Also, you can try clicking on Let me choose one scaling level for all my displays, then click on Custom sizing options and drag on the rulers to set 149% and see if that is any better.
