Apple can't block that which Adobe don't make.

• Can you use an iPad 2 if you don't have a computer

Can you use an iPad 2 if you don't have a computer? How can you update to OS 5? I want to get one for my mom but she doesn't have a computer of any type. Can I set it up on mine (I already have an account, an ipod and ipad2) and then give to her to use? Can't find any info on this. Do I have to set up an Itunes account for her on my computer initially? Will she then be able to update via wi-fi??? Thanks

To update to iOS 5 you need to do it thru iTunes on a computer. Once updated, thought, you can subsequently keep it up to date without a computer, thru Wi-Fi.
Yes, you can use an iPad without a computer, but all things normally synced to the computer will have no backup (photos, videos, etc). If you set up a Wi-Fi network for your mom, she should be able to get a lot of use from it.
Be careful about setting it up with your Apple ID, though. Once it is set up with your Apple ID it is tied to your creit card. Any future purchases (apps, books, etc) will always go thru your account.

After updating my system to Mountain Lion 10.8.2 I can no longer view videos on Facebook or other sites. The only one I can view videos on is youtube. I have downloaded Adobe Flash player and still no luck. I cannot even open Preview on my computer anymore. Any ideas would be helpful thanks

Merely clicking the Preview icon in the Dock doesn't cause it to open anything, unless you had one or more windows open the last time it quit.
If you're sure you've installed the latest version of Flash, take each of the following steps that you haven't already tried. After each step, relaunch Safari and test.
1. If you're getting a "blocked plug-in" error, triple-click the line below to select it:
/Library/Internet Plug-Ins Right-click or control-click the highlighted text and select
Services ▹ Open
from the contextual menu. A folder should open. If there is more than one item in the folder with the words "Flash Player" (not "flashplayer") in the name, open the respective Info windows, check the version numbers, and delete all except the latest. You may be prompted for your login password. If you get the same error after doing that, re-download and reinstall Flash. Download it from this page:
Adobe - Install Adobe Flash Player
Never download a Flash update from anywhere else.
2. If you get a "missing plug-in" error, select
Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Security
from the Safari menu bar and check the box marked Enable plug-ins.
3. Select
Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Extensions
from the Safari menu bar. If any extensions are installed, disable them.
4. In the Safari preference window, select
Privacy ▹ Remove All Website Data
Close the window. Then select
 ▹ System Preferences… ▹ Flash Player ▹ Advanced
and click Delete All. Close the preference pane.

What can I use to clean it?
It is safe to throw it in the washing machine?
lol, I never thought I'd be asking for washing instructions on this forum. (Or any for that matter)

i am going overseas in 3 days and don't have time to order a case from the internet, and the shops don't carry them yet.

• Have installed adobe flash player and is in downloads, and my documents, but I can't open it due to conflicting instance. No idea what to do next

Trying to open adobe flash player so my daughter can play educational games. Think it's downloaded ok, but it won't open due to 'conflicting instances'. I don't even know what that means!

This is the full procedure for installing Adobe Flash for Firefox.
1.Download the Flash setup file from here:
[http://fpdownload.adobe.com/get/flashplayer/current/install_flash_player.exe Adobe Flash - Plugin version].
Save it to your Desktop.
2. Close Firefox using File > Exit
then check the Task Manager > Processes tab to make sure '''firefox.exe''' is closed,
{XP: Ctrl+Alt+Del, Vista: Shift+Ctrl+ESC = Processes tab}
3. Then run the Flash setup file from your Desktop.
* On Vista and Windows 7 you may need to run the plugin installer as Administrator by starting the installer via the right-click context menu if you do not get an UAC prompt to ask for permission to continue (i.e nothing seems to happen).
See this:
• Can't Play Video "need to upgrade your Adobe Flash Player"

Ever since upgrading to FF 26 I can't play video on YouTube or many other sites.
It says "You need to upgrade your Adobe Flash Player to watch this video.
Download it from Adobe."
So I click on the link which takes me to http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/, do the install which goes without trouble.
But afterwards I get the same message when I try to play videos.
Running Windows 7 on a Desktop PC. Having NO problems playing videos in IE or Chrome. FF used to be great but it's becoming more trouble than it's worth.
Thanks in advance.

Hello,
You can try uninstalling it completely via the control panel and then installing it back on to the computer. You can also do a plugin check if you'd like.
Please check if all your plugins are up-to-date. To do this, go to the [http://mozilla.com/plugincheck Mozilla Plugin Check site].
Once you're there, the site will check if all your plugins have the latest versions.
If you see plugins in the list that have a yellow ''Update'' button or a red ''Update now'' button, please update these immediately.
To do so, please click each red or yellow button. Then you should see a site that allows you to download the latest version. Double-click the downloaded file to start the installation and follow the steps mentioned in the installation procedure.

• I use the latest Firefox 13.0.1. I'm using Windows 7. After a day I updated my Adobe Flash Player, suddenly it crashed and showed a blue screen. Please help me.

My Firefox version is 13.0.1. I'm using Windows 7. Adobe Flash Player version is 11.3.300.265. A few minutes after opened the Firefox, suddenly it crashed and a blue screen showed up, it says there are unexpected error occured and forced my computer to be stopped. I need to restart the computer to see either it still show the blue screen or it just fine. After restarted, I use the Firefox once again, but this time, after about 30 minutes, it crashed again. The same blue screen showed up. As I expected, the new Adobe Flash Update crashes with the Firefox 13.0.1. Really need a solution here. Thank you.

Hi,
Blue screens usually indicate Windows system level problems involving device drivers like graphics card drivers, hardware errors (RAM, hard drive) etc. Malware may also cause this. Searching for the displayed error code would usually provide helpful pointers. The [http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us Windows forum] would also be helpful.

• I have installed adobe flash player. I can not open the file. In plugins under tools it is not showing. It shows acrobat reader being there but not flash player. Any ideas?

Flasher Player should be listed as a plugin in tools for it to work?
