If it is still under warranty take it to an Apple Store, or in any case call AppleCare (see http://support.apple.com/kb/HE57 for list of international phone numbers) to see if they can help you. They may be able to help you with repairs if it is a physical problem with the home button.

Press and hold Home until it beeps.

The home button on ipad2 is not working since the iOS 6 update

I've updated to the latest IOS 6 system and now the home button is either freezing or not working. Can't get out of apps unless I reboot. Upon rebooting, it doesn't work & if I open an app, it doesn't work again.
Need a fix.

I'd purchased an iPhone 4 when it was released. After using it for 8 months the home button had stopped working. Then i found out that its a common problem in the iPhone 4. Is it the same with Iphone 5?

I've never had a problem with any iPhone I've had, nor has anyone I know. But being a mechanical device, parts are going to break. That's why there's a warranty.

What can you do if your home button, lock button and assistive touch button no longer work?

My lock button stopped working so i activated the assisted touch, then all of a sudden my assisted touch stopped working and so did my home button. The screenshot and gestures works on the assisted touch but if i press for it to lock or go back to home it does not work. Also if i hold my home button i can get the voice control up, but it just doesn't go back to my home screen. Is there a way to fix this?

Even if they don't seem to work, this will probably work:
hold the HomeButton and the PowerButton pressed at the same time, keep holding, ignore everything on the screen, keep holding, when you see the white Apple logo let go and wait until the iPhone has started completely.

Home and Power Buttons do fail. Visit an Apple Store for a solution.
Meanwhile can use 'AssitiveTouch' under Settings > General > Accessibility

- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try another cable
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order. The appointment is free. No warranty required

Can't log onto iTunes 'home' button but I 'Search' does work!

Like many I get the "The store may be busy try again" messase when I log onto the iTunes home button. But if I type in a band name into the search box and enter it takes my to that band's album info.
Anyone else experience this? Seems this means the store is working but maybe the iTunes home page is down. Dunno.

I'm having the same problem here in NYC. Called Apple and after waiting for some bangladesh or whatever with a language barrier, I was told they are having problems with their server and to try again later. Hope this helps.

The back button is there but never works. It didn't open in a new tab or window but the back button isn't functioning. I just downloaded Firefox 5.

I am ready to go back to 3.6 or whatever version I had because 4 and 5 have had these issues. I tried 4 before but now that I have 5 and the same issue, I remember that I saw this before.
As I was typing this note, I looked up and saw the back button is actually working on this site. Weird.
Also, there isn't a button next to the back and forward so I can see my history. Where is that, now? Sometimes, I want to go back 3 or 4 pages at once without loading each page the slow way. Awww, what am I saying? You all know what I mean. :\

my screen is frozen and it will. It allow me to turn off. I reset it but that didn't fix the problem. Then I tried resetting on my computer through iTunes but it will not allow me to reset until I shut off 'Find My iPhone' which I cannot do cause the screen is frozen.

try doing a full reset bay going to system preferences .the go to general .but first make sure you have all your content and information back up before you doing the erase all content and settings ,because it going to delete all the content and information on the iPad going back in to factory settings

Firefox works very slow on my core i7 notebook (Windows 7 x64) as if the processor was overloaded. Every action has a delay.Even starting with all plug-ins off and clean uninstalling didn't solve the problem. Other browsers work fine.
