What do I do with all these clones?

I would like to install OS X on three older Mac clones (350 MHz, 350 MHz, 400 MHz Sonnets) but I don't know if it's compatible since it's a clone. I would also like to sell them. Do the parts fetch any money? I just have no idea what to do with them. Any ideas/advice?

Hi you have the top of the line Starmax then. They have the cache card accelerators. For hard drives you can run ATA drives and I think up to 120 GB as there may be a limit (not 100% as I have not used that particular Starmax) but I would guess so. Good news is those HD's are cheap, er well at least over here.....

The Supermac S900 is the same as the Umax, it came in a lot of different versions. This has some good information here,

You might want to repaint the case instead, I would the wife painted a few compact Mac cases a few years ago for a newpaper story and they look pretty good. If your S900 has the twin turbo video card in it do not upgrade the CPU to the Sonnet 1ghz G3 as that video card will not work! I know because I have this card in a PowerTower Pro and the accelerator back in it's box because the video goes mad. OWC support tells me that I need a new video card, grrr but that is another story......
As for IBM drive support, you can always add a PCI ATA card. Was your card made for a Mac? If PC it may or may not work depending on the chipset on the card or just pick up a proper card off eBay granted I guess give the age of these clones I wouldn't go too wild upgrading....

Get them off my menu already!! Anyone else's guide have this? When i am scrolling through my menu i have to browse through hundreds of channels with an "x" in front of them, saying the yhave been relocated...ok so then i'll figure out where they are myself. I don't think I could stand it if I didn't use the Favorites, there are just so many channels that I have no interest in. I have probably removed 200+ channels so that I never see them. I just never use the full Guide at all, it took a few days to get in the habit but I would never go back (Unless Verizon adds the ability to remove channels from the full Guide).
Customize your Favorites and then just never use the Guide button, use the Favorites button instead, you won't regret it.

IPad, iPhones, iPods, activboards-what can I do with all these in my classroom?

I am a language arts teacher in an 8th grade classroom. I have a classroom ipad, an HP laptop/dock, promethean activboard & more than half of my students have their own iPads/iPods/iPhones. I personally have an iPhone & a MacBook Pro (& an Apple TV, but would not want to bring that from home to school-if it meant the diff between being able to take technology to the next level, i might consider buying an Apple TV for my classroom).
Is there a way to have the students using their devices to respond to questions/games on the board? And can I use the ipad to control the board?
The little I researched so far seemed to reference using Apple TV hooked up to board with devices passing thru it as "remotes"? Is this something?
Thoughts, feedback?

Lightroom/PV2012 does an awesome job on jpegs too. It doesn't have all the same data to work with as raws, so can't real the highlights in as well etc. but can buff 'em up pretty good... - try it!
I could give a more complete and detailed list of differences (e.g. camera profile & white balance), but you'll be discovering them shortly anyway .
In general: there are a few less options and you can't push 'em as hard - edits may need to be more "restrained" (conservatively applied).

What the heck am I supposed to do with all these .xmp files?

Hi all.
I have been having all these .xmp files, or pages, or whatever appearing on my desk top when I upload some of my images. I click on the info query and they are full of code and adobe is one of the things I can make out. I assume they have something to do with my elements editing, like info about images. I should keep them right? How is the best way to keep them?

Yesterday I was trying to open an image file in PSE that I uploaded from my new camera's memory card via the program I'm supposed to use for transfering images to my computer, ViewNX2.
I played around with the rating capabilities and tags and such and thought all was well. But when I tried to open these images in PSE I got a error message. Something about "end of file"? I have assumed that the problem of opening the file is related to these activities because it never happened before I started using the new camera. And the pictures I did not assign little stars and such to, opened fine.
What be the dealio?
And is the scoop on this Adobe DNG? One of my files mysteriously had that extension appear and I didn't ask it to do this.

What should I do about all these iPhone replacements?

Hello All,
I am currently on my 3rd iPhone replacement. The first one had a crack between the chrome and the headphone jack, the second one has an incorrectly installed bezel and is causing both a light leak, and a sharp edge (The plastic also cracked in the same place as the first phone).
I really need to know what you guys think I should do at this point. I have never in my life had to replace an electronic device so many times and quite frankly it's getting to the point where the time needed to deal with this is becoming beyond ridiculous.
What do I do if the phone coming on Tuesday has a problem, do I just keep calling Rogers and getting them to send me new phones until one actually works even though it takes me almost two hours worth of my time to deal with, and ship the phones back.
I really, honestly want my money back despite how much fun I have had with my phone, but due to the contract and such it simply isn't an option.
Should I take the next phone they give me and if there is a problem (one that I can look past for now), should I call Rogers, explain the problem but refuse a new phone for 6 - 9 months in the hopes Apple will deal with all the quality issues?
Should I go higher (straight to Apple head office) and deal with it at that level?
Basically, I would like to hear your ideas as to what would be the best solution at this point. I don't want to spend every week on the phone getting a new iPhone sent to me, but more importantly I'm concerned that it will break after the year of warranty leaving me to pay out of pocket or go without a phone.

My phone was stolen 3 weeks back and I too had the same issue. Find my iphone was turned off, i don't know how.. I put the phone in lost mode and then erase mode. I brought a new iphone 4s and after 2 weeks, suddenly all of my contacts got disappeared from my iCloud, Mac Contacts, iPhone without any reason. I tried to do a restore iPhone and the contacts came back but disappeared in fraction of second. Used Backup from old data and the same had happened.
Out of no reason I checked with photos and suddenly, I could get the photo of the guy who stole my iphone. I immediately synced that pic to iPhotos. that displayed all info(date, time, camera used, flash on) except the location services.
I logged into iCloud.com to see if the phone got erase. But it still showed erase mode activated. Phone will erase the data once it is connected to internet. But without connection to internet, that guys pics would not have come. I guess there is something about Activation lock to be still active and deactivate which does not work properly.
Any one also had the same issue, please assist.

With All These New Feature Packs........

With all the new feature packs that have been introduced here is a list of features that i would like to see introduced also.....
1. A password protected folder for all media files as well as document files
2. Better use of the gallery/albums....if an image is stored in the albums folder it shouldnt also appear (still) in the gallery section
3. Instead of all images being shown in the gallery irrespective of them being stored on the phone memory or memory card, users should be able to "switch" between images on phone, images on memory....only the albums folder should show images irrespective.(this feature was on previous S60 models)
4.dual sim card slots....i have two sims one for personal and one for business sometimes its a bit annoying having to take the battery out etc. to switch sims.Plus while i have my business sim in i could miss a personal call and vice verce
5.Bluetooth AD2P becoming a standard on higher end phones
6.Text to speech becoming a standard on (higher end/all) phones
7.settings in the camera should not return to default after the application is closed...if i set my camera settings for "night mode" and close the camera application when i return to "night mode" my settings should still be there rather than me having to do this all over everytime.

I have had it with all the problems cause by iOS 8. First my iPod does not charge properly. I have to charge it on computer because if I use a wall charger the battery charges then lowers like if it were possessed by some demon. And today, I thought I could listen to music to my surprise, I can't I mean the songs are there but I can't listen to them. ***! Good job apple! I really love the new iOS 8 update. What's with all these UK Problems!

Sounds like the majority of you live in the UK. You are aware that a 3g equipped tower can only send its signal out a few miles before dissipating. If you live near an urban center say Los Angeles or London you shouldn't have any problems at all so really most of these signal complaints are from those of you that simply live in poorly equipped areas. Call ATT and complain about their lack of 3g equipment in your area. Also, 3g has difficulty in penetrating steel and concrete structures so if you are in an office there's your problem.

If I stand outside my house with 2.0.2 I was getting 1 bar and an unreliable connection. Now I get 4 bars and an unreliable connection.
But there is a 3G mast 1 km in one direction and another about 600m away in another direction. I'm in a low-rise residential area.

I am designing a site for a company that uses the 9iAS Portal as their content management system. Version: 9.0.2.2.22 to be exact.
I designed the site using CSS and XHTML, with NO TABLES.
However, when I split a page up into portlets, and call them into a template, the portlets all have table code written around them when the page is rendered.
IS THERE ANYWAY TO STOP THIS?
I would like to have the server write NOTHING in between the portlets.
Any help?

Portal uses tables and nested tables to define regions
into which you drop portlets.
Tables allow Portal to arrange portlets in a logical manner.
Not sure that you can work around this. You mentioned calling a Portal Page in a template. I assume you created
a Page template ? If you are using UI templates, then
the Portal page will use the UI template and give you
a region (which you can split,add portlets etc).
No matter how you cut it, tables are there to stay.

Try clicking on the back button and trying again. Also I not that you were currently backing up the iPod. Try again when not backing up. Try when iTunes is not doing anything else.

I think you should only have two a week! Check your series recordings list.
The aim is to keep the viewing card active by tuning to ESPN for an hour which allows the over air reactivation to take place. If you watch ESPN for at least an hour a week anyway then you can delete the series recordings. I do this during the football season when I keep the card in the TV but during the off season I put the card back in the Vision box and reinstate the Saturday recording to keep it alive.
I don't have Sky Sports so don't know if there are any additional series recordings for that, but it'll be the same principle if there are.

What's the deal with Safari these days

I've been reading some other threads and it seems as though Safari is having some issues in terms of speed.
I too have been experiencing these problems, i've cleared out my cache(s) and still it's brutally slow. So, why all the sudden is Safari so bad? What can i do about it? I like safari better then firefox, but i'm not going to put up with this speed problem too much longer.
Also, is there anyway to import my bookmarks from Safari to Firefox?

After you have exported your "safari bookmarks.html" file to whatever folder you want, you SHOULD be able to open up firefox and follow those previous instructions I gave you.
One thing I didn't mention, that you might have already tried is, when you choose import, choose "from file". And it will allow you to choose which file on your harddrive to import.
Also, You can find your Firefox bookmarks under, "
Users/YourUserName/Library/Application Support/Firefox/Profiles/$#$#$#$.default/bookmarks.html
(If that means anything to you! I guess, there, you can see if your bookmarks indeed have been imported or not.
