I want to access oracle database from java application running on Linux.
The database is installed on a Window 2000 machine. What do I need to install before I can open a connection from the Linux box to the Oracle server on Windows 2000 ?
Do I need Oracle Client ?

I would always have a wired keyboard and mouse on hand (need not be expensive ... any cheap wired devices will work). "Emergency recovery" procedures can activate features in random order, so the opportunity to select a recovery partition may pass before the wireless devices are recognized.
That will let you select the "turn on Bluetooth" icon.

I would be concerned too if the songs I purchased from iTunes were not downloading to my iPhone. You have taken some great troubleshooting steps already, and thank you for providing the details of the steps you too. I have a few additional suggestions to get it downloaded to your iPhone.
First, I recommend checking to see if the download was interrupted:
If your download was interrupted using your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
From the Home screen, tap the iTunes app.
For iPhone or iPod touch, tap More > Downloads. For iPad, tap Downloads.
Enter your account name and password if prompted.
Tap the blue download arrow to resume.

What is the webconference tool of choice for demos from a linux box?

Since conference.oracle.com and strtc only work on IE, what are folks doing when they want to do a webconference from a linux box? Are people installing IE (I see it is possible but sounds a bit hacky), or is there another oracle conference tool or are people connecting from a PC to the linux box and running conference from there (is that possible?).

Motion basically looks at the the source footage and it's timing (in the timing section of the Inspector) when analyzing for tracking. Filters are basically ignored by the tracker. Retiming actions, like time re-mapping, or retiming behaviors that are applied before the tracker should be used by the tracker. Did you change the timing after doing the tracking? If so this would also require you to re-track the shot. Understanding that you found a workaround, describing the effects you applied would help to explain why you ran into problems.

You cannot open an rpd on a Linux manchine.
You have to install the client (Admin tool) on windows and open the rpd remotely in online mode

Do you have Adobe Reader installed, by any chance? If so, are you aware if it was the PPC or Intel version which you installed? In any case, for the time being, have a quick look in 'HD/Library/Internet Plug-ins/' using Finder and see if there's an Adobe plugin lying around. If there is, try moving it out of the folder and restarting Safari.

I was able to connect my G4 10.2 to the work server and have all the details (IP address, domain name and my own login and password.) Since buying this G5 I am unable to connect. I have read SO many posts on the subject and have tried some things. Unfortunately I continue to get this message .

First, to what service are you trying to connect on the work server? I.e. what protocol? E-mail works, but e-mail might be publicly visible, while the other service(s) you are attempted to reach may be private (and VPN) only. Have you configured your VPN? Is it a Cisco VPN?
There are quite a number of steps involved in setting up access to a remote network correctly, and you need to know quite a few details of how the remote network is designed. Without that, we cannot help you very much.
Have you even talked to the IT people at your work?
