What do the upgrade scripts do for the following cases?

Hi,
I have got the compare reports between 9.0 vanilla(Source) and 8.4 copy of production(Target).
it has the following properties.
source---------target--------action-----upgrade
changed-----*changed-------copy-------yes
changed-----*unchanged----copy-------yes
unchanged---*changed------copy--------yes
unchanged----*unchanged--copy--------yes
which means in all the above cases the customizations will be overridden.
I have read somewhere that as a developer i need to look for the following case and re-apply the customizations
source---------target--------action-----upgrade
changed-----*changed-------copy-------yes
my question is that, when we run the 9.0 upgrade scripts on 8.4 copy of production, will it not override the customizations for the following cases?
source---------target--------action-----upgrade
unchanged---*changed------copy--------yes
unchanged----*unchanged--copy--------yes
Please help me,
Thank you.

If you are talking about compare reports during Initial move of Upgrade --Yes , objects from the source will come over and based on user's or you(in this case) have to re-apply them back.At later stages of the upgrade pass  you have to re-apply them eventually if you want to opt with old or delivered custom or pure custom psoft objects.

  • What's the business case for using adobe forms for handling print forms

    Hi
    We are just starting our SAP project and are looking at the possibility to use Adobe forms for generating and printing our forms, like purchase orders, invoices etc.
    My Question is:
    1. Is this possible / adviseable ?
    2. if so - what's the business case in using Adobe forms  - <i> We have been looking on the SAP Pricing for adobe interactive form, and in our point of view it's grotesque high</i>
    3. What other options do we have - do we need to settle with SAP Script / Smartforms ?
    Regards
    Morten Nielsen

    Hi Morten,
    1. Is this possible / adviseable ?
        As far I know SAP is going to stop support for SAPScript in coming years (I don't know exact dates). It is pretty much advisable to use Adobe Print Forms.
    2. if so - what's the business case in using Adobe forms - We have been looking on the
    SAP Pricing for adobe interactive form, and in our point of view it's grotesque high
      We can use Adobe Print Forms where ever we can able to use SApscripts/PDF print Forms.
    3. What other options do we have - do we need to settle with SAP Script / Smartforms ?
      It is better to settle with Adobe forms rather than using SAPscript/Smart forms. One of the main reason for this is maintainance is much easier than SAPscript/Smart forms.
    But remember that Java Stack need to be installed in order to use Adobe Forms.
    Please visit the below SDN area on Adobe forms for more details.

  • What is the difference between the following cases... ?

    What is the symbol *%2 %3 %4 %5 %6 %7* used for?
    What is the difference between the following cases about the symbol *%2 %3 %4 %5 %6 %7* ?
    Case 1:
    "%NEW_JAVA_HOME%"\bin\java %COH_OPTS% -Xms1g -Xmx1g com.tangosol.net.DefaultCacheServer
    %2 %3 %4 %5 %6 %7Case 2:
    com.tangosol.examples.%EXAMPLE%.Driver contacts %EXAMPLES_DIR%\..\resource\contacts.csv
    %2 %3 %4 %5 %6 %7Thank you

    It just passes whatever else was on the command line to the "java" command. So if you have a Windows test.cmd file that looks like this:
    java %1 %2 %3 %4 %5 %6 %7Then you can pretty much use "test" anywhere you would use "java", because it passes through its command line parameters (or at least up to 7 of them).

    <allow-interfaces> - The allow-interfaces element indicates whether the user-type class-name can specify Java interface types in addition to Java class types. Valid values are "true" or "false". Default value is false.
    <allow-subclasses> - The allow-subclasses element indicates whether the user-type class-name can specify a Java class type that is abstract, and whether sub-classes of any specified user-type class-name will be permitted at runtime and automatically mapped to the specified super-class for purposes of obtaining a serializer. Valid values are "true" or "false". Default value is false.
    <user-type-list> - The user-type-list element contains zero or more user-type elements. Each POF user type that will be used must be listed in the user-type-list. The user-type-list element may also contain zero or more include elements. Each include element is used to add user-type elements defined in another pof-config file.
    <include> The include element specifies the location of a pof-config file to load user-type elements from. The value is a locator string (either a valid path or URL) that identifies the location of the target pof-config file.

  • What are the essential cases where we must have use update module F.M.

    Dear sap Friends ,
    I want to update or insert bill no. in a ztable  when creating bill through VF01  .
    I have done it through insert sql query as well as by update module enabled functin module .
    what are the essential cases where we must have to use  update module enabled functin module and why we use IN UPDATE TASK .
    mainly i want to know in which case i must have to use update module enabled functin module and not by insert or modify query used smply .
    Thanks ,
    Amit Ranjan .

    Hi Amit,
    I sincerly advice you to search SCN or any anywherelse as big theory is behind this
    few related info.
    If you are using more than one screen to collect the data to update a perticular table and corresponding underlying table Child table in that case , after every screen change an implicit data base commit takes place and you are still collecting the data from other screens , in such cases you use IN UPDATE TASK
    Please go through SAP LUW

  • What do the following symbols on a Sequence Timeline mean

    What do the following symbols on a Sequence Timeline mean <<<<<<<< . That is what it looks like. They appear in the Video Track. Cannot delete them and if I remove the video clip they remain.

    This is the first time I have seen this on the Timeline. The annoyoing part is that there is no indicator as to what this is related to and  no Adobe Help info to explain what I am looking at. That is why I posted here and I am glad, Ann, that you have a suggestion. Coming from FCP I am struck by the lack of reference material on the Adobie site to clarify things like this. Adobe Help is like going to the Library and being handed a 50 volume encyclopedia to find information about a light switch.
    Another interesting thing is that these arrows remain on the Timeline even if I remove the clip or slide another clip into the same spot.

  • What is the following icon used for?

    It is a rectangle with a small black triangle at the lower right.  It has another rectangle in the center of the outer one that has what looks like a gradient in it.  Lighter to the left and darker to the right.  I am taking a test and they want to know the following:
    creating an inverted image, reversing the existing color palette
    creating a cloud pattern using two colors
    creating a color gradient using two or more colors
    What is the answer?  I have never seen this before and I do not have CS5.
    Thanks, the sooner the better...

    I'm thinking they just stylized it, because no, it doesn't exactly match the gradient icon in the Tools panel in the current release of Photoshop.
    Here's the same tool in Photoshop 6.0 (6 major versions older).  That's closer, but still not a perfect match.
    For completeness, here's what it looks like in PS CS6:

    you might want to check out
    iskin.com
    they have really protective cases and they just came out with some armband thingys
    but if you want a solid case, apple sells some that are clear all the way around so you can see everything on your ipod, i don't think it works with an armband though

  • What is the following syntax for?

    I saw this on the Sun tutorial for swing components and was a little baffled. I'm a "professional core java programmer" yet I did not recognized the syntax. Here it is...
    JLabel myLabel = new JLabel("A Label"){
    public void Amethod(){
    // method body
    public void AnotherMethod(){
    // method body 2
    What is the purpose of the curly bracketed code after a object declaration?
    I even tried this in eclipse and it worked....
    Object _obj = new Object(){}; // compiles
    I know you can put {} anywhere but what does it do when you have method implementation in them?

    It creates an anonymous inner class which extends something else;
    in your example the JLabel class is extended. At the same time an
    object of that extended class is created. The syntax is funny indeed
    but very handy for all sorts of Listeners used in the Swing framework.
    Note that there are other situations where such an anonymous inner
    class can come in handy. Try this for example (see below) and change
    the text in the label:JLabel label= new JLabel("initial text") {
       public void setText(String text) { // override the setText method
          super.setText(text);
          System.out.println("Changed label text: "+text);
    label.setText("new text");kind regards,
    Jos
