What does the lock with a circle around it mean in the top right corner of my iPhone 5c
What does the lock with a circle around it mean in the top right corner of my iPhone 5c
It means that your screen rotation is locked. Open up the control center by sliding your finger up from the very bottom of the screen, and click on the screen rotation lock symbol, which is the same symbol you see on the status bar.

So at the top of my screen like where the time is... there is this symbol that looks like a lock with a circle around it. It is next to the battery icon. What does this mean?
It's the screen orientation lock. It prevents the screen from switching between portrait and landscape views when you turn the iPod.
To engage or disengage this feature, double click the home button. This will bring up the multitasking tray. Swipe all the way to the left until you see the iPod controls, then tap the gray icon with the lock on it. This will toggle the feature on and off. -

Have a lock with a circle around it couldn't find it in the book
A lock with a circle around it appeared in the right hand corner?
That means that rotation is locked. The screen will not reorient when you turn your iPad.
See this for information on how this works: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4085?viewlocale=en_US&locale=en_US -
Does anyone know what the little lock with a circle around it for on my phone?
Orientation lock, keeps the screen from rotating. You can turn it on and off by swiping up from any screen.
Actually, not entirely correct. It's the Portrait Orientation lock. It won't lock landscape orientation, as can the iPad Orientation Lock -

It's the screen rotation lock symbol.
When your screen is locked, photos won't rotate when you turn you iPhone sideways (or visa versa)
It's for better viewing or a wider picture view.
You can change it with the same icon in the slider menu from the bottom of your screen (upper right side).
It toggles on or off. -

I updated my iPad2 to the new OS7 .....I am getting a blue i with a circle around it next to the networks in my district that I want to connect to. Does anyone know what that means?
Some things to try first:
1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
3. Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
5. Renew IP Address: (especially if you are droping internet connection)
• Launch Settings app
• Tap on Wi-Fi
• Tap on the blue arrow of the Wi-Fi network that you connect to from the list
• In the window that opens, tap on the Renew Lease button

Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.
You may have many apps open which can possibly cause the slowdown and possibly the loss of wifi. In iOS 4-6 double tap your Home button & at the bottom of the screen you will see the icons of all open apps. Close those you are not using by pressing on an icon until all icons wiggle - then tap the minus sign. For iOS 7 users, there’s an easy way to see which apps are open in order to close them. By double-tapping the home button on your iPhone or iPad, the new multitasking feature in iOS 7 shows full page previews of all your open apps. Simply scroll horizontally to see all your apps, and close the apps with a simple flick towards the top of the screen.

What does E means on the top right corner of my iphone?...how can I remove it & replace with 3G.
EDGE is an earlier technogy for cell data that is still used. If you are in an area with no 3G available or a very weak signal it will switch to E. you can try Resetting your device by holding down the sleep and home buttons, ignoring the red Off slider, waiting for the Apple logo then let go of the buttons. If that does not work you will need to relocate to an area with a stronger signal.

My phone has a picture of a locked lock with a circle going around it clockwise....... It is in the right hand upper corner of the iphone beside the battery bar. What is this?
Icons are covered in the manual:
iPhone User Guide (For iOS 6 Software) -
I did send a lock command to my iPhone several months ago - but it didnt work because I did not have iCloud enabled. But I am seeing a "padlock" with a circle around it at the top of my display over to the right side next to my % battery.
Do you have the portrait orientation lock enabled? This sounds like the icon for that. Download the new iPhone User Guide for iOS 7 from the iBooks store (Free) and it shows all the icons that appear in the status bar.
