A couple of Grammar changes

1) Learn SQL: [http://google.com/search?q=sql+tutorial+site:w3schools.com]
2) Learn JDBC: [http://google.com/search?q=jdbc+tutorial+site:sun.com]
3) Let the DB do the comparision task. Invoke a SELECT query where you pass both the username and the password in the WHERE clause. If the ResultSet#next() returns true, then the username + password combo is valid, else it is not.

  • What is the Plugin that puts checkboxes next to links so that all cheked links are opened?

I can't remember what was the plugin or maybe it was a plugin with Maxthon but the feature is somewhat like this:
In a webpage there are several links of interest, and this plugin toggled checkboxes next to the links for ticking. Then only those selected links would be opened. This is similar to Snap Links or Multi-Links, but a different way of handling multiple links which may be spread across the page.
With the checkboxes, one only needs to keep putting ticks next to the interesting links as one reads a page and later open all the selected/checked links.
Update1: Yes, it was a Maxthon plugin called OpenCheckedLinks. This is a much needed feature for Firefox.
Update2: Ok, found Firefox Plugin called Linky, which does solve this problem partially by listing the urls to select, but it does not carry the anchor text. Maybe the developer will include that feature.

The OP is searhing the system tables for a user table in a database. With most dbms's you would select from the system table for the object. MySql has the Show command.

  • What exactly happens when datafile is put in backup mode ?

    Dear Friend,
i want to know what exactly happens when a datafile is put in backup mode ?
that is what happens between Begin Backup ........................... end backup
    with regards.

When u start hot backup via 'alter tablespace begin backup', the tablespace headers are marked as such. The dirty data buffers that belong to the database files are written out to the files and the datafiles are check pointed. The headers are updated with SCN @ the time the backup commences. It is the data file headers that were not updated until the 'alter tablespace end backup' is issued.
The database files still continue to be read and updated. Recovery will commence from the scn written at the commencement of the backup and it is the changes written to the redo\archive logs during the backup that are rolled forward during recovery

  • Guys, any idea what is the exact thing to put  to resize or enlarge the image size  to make the phot

Guys, any idea what is the exact thing to put  to resize or enlarge the image size  to make the photo larger or bigger when uploading in Facebook?? thanks

You could check "Resize to Fit" and specify the exact dimensions you want in the Lightroom Export dialog box.
But a word to the wise ... don't bother ... there is a maximum size that Facebook allows for photos, and you'd be wasting your time specifying anything reasonably large in Lightroom's Export dialog box.

  • What exactly does Standby mode do?

In a quest to figure out how to turn the screen power off when I want to, I have found Standby mode, which does exactly that.  All the manual says about it is to press and hold the mute button to go into standby mode, but doesn't say anything else about it.  What exactly is "Standby Mode"?  Will it still give me calendar alerts, and phone calls and other alerts, or is it essentially turned off?
    Jesse
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Standby mode is just a low power state to conserve battery life. It shuts of the backlight and screen, and does not respond to key presses until you bring it out of standby mode. Your notifications, phone calls, etc. are not affected by it.
The holster serves the same purpose: it has a magnet that is detected by the phone to put it into standby. If you go to the notification/ ringer profile settings, you will notice 2 different setting: out of holster and in holster.

  • What exactly is token validation?

    Hi All,
We're using jdev 10.1.2, adf bc's and jsps. A user keeps using the back button and so sporadically gets the error 'row currency has changed since user interface was rendered'. Having researched it on this site, I've found that this is due to token validation.
Can someone please define what exactly is token validation and is it ok to turn it off?
    Many thanks,
    Liz.

Token validation is the mechanism that's used to detect back button presses.
Basically as the user navigates through pages by communicating to the server, the ADF engine allocates each page pushed back to the user a unique token value. Each time the user requests a new page, the previous token is given back to the server. The server checks the token it received against the token it passed out, and if they match the user hasn't used the back button. If they don't match, it occurs because when user navigates to page A they get token X, then they navigate to page B they get token Y, and next they press back button which returns to the browser's cached version of page A with token X. Next the user does a real submit back to the server and token X is passed back. The server was expecting token Y so it throws the row currency error you're seeing.
It is not advisable to turn it off, but instead instruct your users not to use the back button. A common technique to stop this occuring is to launch the app in a browser window that doesn't have the associated toolbar.
    Hope this helps.
    CM.

  • What exactly does the Radio Beacon Indicate

I have seen cases where the Radio Beacon is black and when it is gray. When it's black you may or may not be able to go through the wireless router to the modem and then to the internet. When it is gray, you cannot really do anything except be in a local mode. However there are instances when the Radio Beacon is black, rather than gray, and you still cannot access the internet. So, what exactly does the activated Radio Beacon Indicate, i.e., that the wireless network is working and the modem is down, or something else entirely ?

Assuming you're referring to the Airport icon in the menu bar, 'clear/empty' means Airport is turned off, gray bars means Airport is on but not connected to a network, and black bars means Airport is on and connected to a network. Other possible icon states are solid gray with a little computer inset, meaning you're connected to a computer-to-computer created on the Mac, and gray bars with an exclamation point (10.6 only), meaning connected to a network but not authenticated (e.g. wrong password for an 801.2X corporate/university network).
To your question, it's perfectly possible to be successfully connected to a network (black icon) and unable to access the internet. Situations like that would include the network requiring a proxy server, for which you haven't set up the details on in Network Preferences, or you're connected to an open network that requires you to enter information or agree to terms (e.g. a hotel network, where you need to put in your room number and agree to the charges before you can connect to the internet).

  • What exactly is balance in Oracle Payroll. Can someone give an example pls

    Hi
I am a newbie to Oracle Payroll. Could some one xplain what exactly is balance in Oracle Payroll. Can someone give an example pls. Is there any link which would be useful to clearly explain this.

Results of Payroll run get accumulated in the Balances. The accumulation happens according to the dimension like ASGRUN holds the value of current payroll run, ASGYTD holds the cumulative value for the current financial year and gets reset at the beginning of the next financial year, ASGQTD holds the cumulative value for the current quarter and gets reset at the beginning of the next quarter etc.
You can see the values of the balances for different dimension after running the payroll.
View -> Assignment Process Results -> Balances.

  • What exactly is in the LR catalog?

I can think of image location references as well as references to the corresponding preview files and Lightroom proprietary image metadata are held in the catalog, but I doubt that develop settings are there because either xml files directly alongside the images are used for that or development settings are stored in the dng files themselves. And for presets etc. Lightroom uses files in the filesystem. So what exactly is in the catalog?
    Andreas

    dj_paige wrote:
Everything you do to your photos in Lightroom is in the catalog.
Furthermore, there are some organisational matters that the Catalog holds, which are wider in scope than any image taken in isolation. Most critically, the Catalog discriminates which image files you have chosen to import, and which you have not imported (or have since deliberately removed).
Each Catalog has some workflow settings of its own - so one Catalog may be set to write XMP out to the files automatically, and another not to do so. Of course, the Catalog conveniently stores the last view and workspace that you had for your library, including any filtering, stacking or custom ordering of the images.
Each catalog holds a list of keywords (regardless whether these have been used or not) each with nesting, synonym and other properties.
Each Catalog provides Collections, Smart Collections, Print Collections etc which have no existence outside that Catalog.
Each Catalog can maintain Publish setups, collections, smart folders, and ongoing change-tracking relationships with external image copies either locally or online.
The same for remembered print settings of each image, page setups, softproofing settings etc
The same for Virtual Copies along with all their text and develop metadata - these are treated within the Catalog (only), as fully functional images in their own right. But if you go to the folder on disk, there is nothing to see of these whatever.
Some people put quite a lot of effort into settings which are in fact available outside LR and its Catalog, because they are "shared" with ACR. This includes processing defaults, lens and camera calibration profiles. Also some LR settings saved via a given Catalog, are centrally stored by default, so available to other LR Catalogs: chiefly develop presets, import or export presets, and the like.
Edit: I forgot one of the most important: a History of the steps carried out, giving access to all the different states that the image has passed through.

  • What exactly is contained in "Components Level" output of Harmonic distortion Analyzer VI?

The Components Level output of the Harmonic Distortion Analyzer VI is described in the help file:
"components level contains the array of amplitudes of the measured harmonics in volts if the signal in is in volts. The array index is the harmonic number including 0 (DC), 1 (fundamental), 2 (second harmonic),... n (nth harmonic), up to and including the highest harmonic."
However, why is there more than one measurement of each harmonic included in the array? Specifically, probing the wire says it's a 1D array of clusters with one element each, the clusters are 1D array of doubles.
So, multiple double values are associate with each harmonic. What exactly do these values signify? Creating an indicator on the wire (as below, "component levels" - the indicator is right off the hamonic analyzer, not the bit below it with the index array/unbundle stuff) shows four of the numbers in the array. Sometimes the fourth or even third are greyed out, meaning that the array varies in size from one iteration of my while loop to the next.
I would think that at the least, magnitude and phase would be included, but experimentation with a source that has 60Hz, plus a harmonic (7th, or 15th, etc) at -20 degrees doesnt' correlate with the data. I don't see "-20" or the radian equivilant at all.
Any ideas or a pointer to more detailed information than the help file?

    Hi Xooch,
I'm not sure that I totally understand what you're asking about.  When I went to recreate this, I used both a cluster indicator and a double array that had been indexed and unbundled from the original output.
What do you mean by "multiple double values"? I only saw one value for each harmonic, so I'd like to clarify that.
I'd also like to clarify what types of values are being passed into the function and how many channels are being used.  I think these answers may be helpful in finding out what's going on with the cluster greying out some of the values.  I'd also like to verify that these values are being greyed out while the VI is running through different iterations of the loop as opposed to when the program has stopped and restarted.

  • Sync - merge - what EXACTLY do these terms mean?

Howdy. I recently plunged into the iPhone world & I'm LOVING IT!!!!!!
So, what exactly does SYNC & MERGE mean? what will be the final results?
with my iPod shuffle, I'm able to "auto fill" from a folder of pre-selected podcasts in iTunes. After listening to the iPod for awhile, I reconnect the iPod to iTunes (on the computer) & the podcasts in iTunes are updated as with actions taken on the iPod. for example, iTunes on the computer will indicate wether or not I listened to these particular podcasts on the iPod or not, & will also remember where I left off. So it seems that the iPod updates iTunes on the computer.
But, ... this does NOT seem to be the same with the iPhone. It seems like when I plug in my iPhone to the computer & "sync", iTunes isn't updated as to what I already watched on the iPhone, like the iPod did. In order to update iTunes with what i already watched on the iPhone, I need to manually delete the vidcasts from the iTunes on the computer, which seems like a step back from my little iPod shuffle.
ALSO: if I change contact information on my iPhone, will this updated info be lost when I connect the iPhone to the Computer?
So what exactly does SYNC & MERG mean?
It seems that the iPhone reacts differently for different media. I'm very confused & I wish there was a place to understand all this without the generic "sync" word being used without explanation. does sync mean replace, update, ... ????
I've been searching around the net for this info for awhile, but all I find is these terms, without sufficient information as to what exactly MERGE & SYNC actually do.
Can someone suggest some place that explains this in the detail I'm looking for?
    Thanks so much.
    Jesse Luke

Under the Podcasts tab for your iPhone sync preferences, there are various options. I have sync all unplayed episodes of selected podcasts to be transferred to my iPhone. If I listen to an podcast on my iPhone in it's entirety, the podcast will be removed from my iPhone when syncing with iTunes.
The iPhone includes a sync process - some of the data included with the sync process is a one way transfer process only from your computer to your iPhone such as iTunes music, and the same for selected photos to be transferred from your computer to your iPhone.
The sync process for contact info, calendar events, and Safari bookmarks with the supported applications on your computer is a bidirectional or true sync process. When syncing an iPhone for contact info the first time with a supported application on your computer that includes contact info, you will be provided a merge prompt if your iPhone includes any contact info that was manually entered in your iPhone's address book. This will merge the contact info between the two. After the first sync or merge for this data, it will be a bidirectional or true sync process. Change info for a contact on your iPhone, and the info will be changed for the contact info with the supported address book on your computer when followed by a sync, and vice-versa. Add a new contact with the supported address book on your computer, and the new contact will be transferred to your iPhone's address book during the next sync, and vice versa. The same applies to calendar events when syncing with a supported calendar app on your computer.

  • What exactly is the diff between main window and variable window

what exactly is the diff between main window and variable window in SAP script?

    hi,
MAIN WINDOW :- In a main window you display text and data, which can cover several pages (flow text). As soon as a main window is completely filled with text and data, the system continues displaying the text in the main window of the next page. It automatically triggers the page break.
You can define only have one window in a form as main window.
The main window must have the same width on each page, but can differ in height.
A page without main window must not call itself as next page, since this would trigger an endless loop. In such a case, the system automatically terminates after three pages.
VARIABLE WINDOW :- The contents of variable windows is processed again for each page, on which the window appears. The system outputs only as much text as fits into the window. Text exceeding the window size is truncated; the system does not trigger a page break. Unlike constant windows, the page windows declared as variable windows may have different sizes on different form pages.
As far as the processing of the window contents is concerned, the system currently treats constant and variable windows alike. The only difference is that constant windows have the same size throughout the form.
    hope this will be useful.
    If useful then reward points.
    with regards,
    Syed

  • What exactly is the auto letterbox and pillarbox option?

Can't find any reference to that preference in the help file. Can someone define exactly what that option does?
I'm guessing its affecting a project I'm working on. I just imported about 40 minutes of footage from a mini-DV camcorder. The person who shot it must have turned on one of those fake widescreen effects in the camcorder because the footage has black bars on top and bottom. Anyway, after the tape was finished importing iMovie put up a status box stating: "Letterboxing - Please wait this may take a while." Well its been about 2 hours now and its still not finished. I'm not even sure what the heck its doing.

    What issue?"
That is what I am asking...Like I said, I am able to open CS5 on my new retina mbp and edit image files with no issue..the only thing that I notice that seems off is the text of the UI seems "fuzzy"....
So, what I am asking is what exactly is the problem supposed to be that I should be seeing?

  • What exactly is a "low-level exception occurred in: ImporterFastMPEG?"

I've been importing several HDV video files (m2t files) from my Sony HDR-DR60 HDD unit into Premiere Pro CS6 on my Macbook Pro w/ Retina Display. I noticed that this error popped up for 3 files: "A low-level exception occurred in: ImporterFastMPEG (Importer)" What exactly is happening here? What does that mean? Those video files appeared with small "?" icons next to their names in the bin. I attempted to import them again, but I was either given the same error message or only the first few seconds of the file would import. For example, one file is 645MB and is a little over 3 minutes long. Now when I try to import this file, it shows as being only 19 seconds in length.
Now here's where it gets perplexing: I took that same file and fired up my decommisioned Windows PC with an old installation of Premiere Pro CS5.5, and it imported perfectly without a problem.
I found a very slow work-around where I converted the m2t file into an uncompressed Quicktime MOV, but I'd like to find out what the root cause is and why I'm getting this error for these few files. I've done a lot of shooting this week, and I haven't had a problem with any other files from my HDR-60.
So, is this a Mac/Apple problem, a Premiere CS6 problem, or are those particular files just randomly weird? Google searches have not yielded anything useful which is why I'm asking here.
