What happened to linking a web address to text?

Why can't I link a web address to text or an image in Thunderbird anymore?

Embedding a link in text or an image only works when you are composing messages in HTML format. If plain text is your default, hold Shift when you click Write, Reply or Forward to compose in HTML format.

What is my original .mac web address?

I am no longer publishing my iWeb site to my personal web address on .mac
My old site is still on the .mac server, but now I do not know how to access it. I've switch the DNS servers already. Is it possible to still access my pages on .mac? If so, what is the URL?

Webpages on dotMac have 2 adresses:
http://homepage.mac.com/yourdotMacID/ (Old style HomePage)
and
http://web.mac.com/yourdotMacID/ (iWeb publishes here)
Your pages can be accessed by mounting your iDisk.

What happened to the indexing of addresses. It no longer works like it did before

I have for years been able to add addresses to emails by typing usually the first letter of the name. Since the last update I have to type sometimes 3 letters of the name to get the right address to show up. I thought it would improve with use but it hasn't change. Please go back to the old indexing or what ever you had before. If I want Dave, I have to type dav or it brings up Sandy.. Go figure

Before I updated to Firefox 4.01 you had a link to other similar web sites located at the top of the browser to the right of the words: (Firefox File Edit View History Bookmarks Tools Window Help). The words link was: "Related Sites" or something similar. Where is it located?

Firefox doesn't have such a menu entry. So if you had it then it must have been added by an extension.
Do you see any disabled extension in Tools > Add-ons > Extensions ?

How do I delete a blue line that just showed up in emails through links and web addresses?

This works. But for me the offending item returns almost immediately after going through this!! :-/
Argghhhh! Why can't I just delete it??!! Is it possible to delete from the cloud?! This seems to be where the problem lies.

What happens to personal folders and address book from old email when I change to new email

I got a new email address. I am going to quit using the old one, which was was with Comcast When I cancel Comcast service, how can I make sure that I do not lose my personal folders and address book. Also, if I can keep the personal folders, which contain emails with the old Comcast email address, will I be able to read them?

The address book is unaffected.
Comcast is as I recall a pop mail provider. If your using IMAP this is useless to you, so speak up.
If you right click the Comcast account in the folder pane and select settings. Under server setting for the account change the settings to not check for mail. Click the advanced settings and change the check this server to off as well. Doing this stops Thunderbird driving you mad with unable to connect messages for the defunct account.
Go to the outgoing server (SMTP) and delete the Comcast SMTP server. This will prevent you from accidentally replying to old mail and getting an error as the Comcast account is no longer.

What happened to linking to other slide decks in Keynote 6.0

It appears that another bit of simple technology was removed from Keynote 6.0 - linking to other slide decks! This is a key advantage that PowerPoint has had. I really was hoping the same functionality would have been incorportated into the new Keynote. Now it appears one can only create links to other slides within the deck, a website, or email. Definitiely some key customization functionality has been removed. Not good.

It's easy to drag them up off the Dock, open your Applications folder, drag Address Book from the Window to where you want it in the Dock, rinse & repeat.

ICloud family email account? Don't understand what happens to the other email addresses.

After updating my devices to ios5 I was going to move to iCloud. Got message that not all email accounts would forward (I have family plan with multiple email accounts), and I don't really understand what I need to do to get everything moved to iCloud.

You can move the master and sub accounts on a Mobileme Family Plan individually to iCloud: each account needs to move separately, going to http://me.com/move and will become an individual and separate iCloud account. This can be done in any order, but obviously if you move the master account first you can no longer use it to administer the sub-accounts; and if you move a sub-account first you can't create a new sub-account to replace it.
The master account will get the free extension to 20GB until 30 June 2012; the sub-accounts won't.

What happened to IOS 8 MAC Address randomisation?

Using an iPhone 5S upgraded to IOS 8, after testing using Kismet and other pen-test tools I have found there is no MAC address randomisation by my device. Is this a feature yet to be released or is my iPhone playing up?

Thanks for the reply; that had crossed my mind so I performed a Kismet capture during a 35 mile drive. Lots of probes were captured from my iPhone which was consistently sending out the same MAC address (the one listed under device settings) each time. It should be noted that the captured probes didn't contain any wireless access point SSIDs. This isn't the answer unfortunately.

What happened to my old web page, using att ,I do not want to re set my old home page. This is the third time and I don't want to spend hours on phone.

You are right, but how could i send it to Apple? when the phone company first replaced my iphone they had in stock alots of iphones and they just sent mine back to Apple and gave me a new one, so all i did is to give them my phone, but now how could i sent it to Apple? and i cant send it by myself, and the store wont do that, its a lost for them.. so sending it to Apple wasnt an option from the begining.
and for the record, i dont think the store where i bought it is an authorized shop.. its just a store who boughts phone's from Apple in a low price and sells it in much more money..

What happened to the date and time of text messages, on my Iphone 4. This stopped about four days ago.

As of four days ago, the date and time of my text messages does not appear. I don' t know what hapened. I have reset the network settings, but it didn't fix the problem.

What happens?. Unable to find error text for this exception

I4m trying to open a workbook and before doing anything it shows me the message "Unable to find error text from this exception", after this, it appears another one "attempt to open workbook failed". Help me to find why i4m not able to open the workbook, which could be the reason.

I think this has something to do with the folders that
you are using? Have you renamed an old folder and then
recreated another folder as its replacement?
