Hi all..
I have two question?
In a Warehouse, I have a high density of Access Point 1240, each AP have only the radio b/g active and each AP has two antennas. One antenna is 2.2 dBi and the other antenna is 5.2 dBi. This affect to the signal, or throughput?
The Ap is at around 82 feet high, is out of estandar. What happens if I reduce the transmit power?.Can the wifi client connect to the ap and work fine?

#Two differrent gain or antenna type(with or without RF overlap) works good for one client, when more than one client communicating to different antenna would yield poor performance. see the link below.
#dtpc and datarate would also drastically change based on the client connected antenna that is not discussed in the link.
#With one antenna there won't be diversity and yes there will be a performance hit when compared to having multiple antennas.
#Either use two similar model or one antenna, If you don't have two similar antenna model you can still connect one antenna and on AP's antenna diversity setting you can have either left or rigtht based on the antenna connected to the radio port on AP.

The PCs should communicate each othet.
Since there is no trunk port involved, there is not tagging involved.
Since both the PCs are into the same subnet. PC1 will not need default gateway for the communication with PC2. So PC1 will start with sending ARP request for PC2 MAC address.
Since all the ports in SW1 are in same VLAN, the ARP should reach all ports including the switchport where SW2 is connected to.
Sw2 has got a complete different access port on ALL the switchports. Sw2 will receive the ARP from Sw1. Remember that there is no tagging for the frame. Hence Sw2 will again send the ARP packet to all the ports which belong to same VLAN wherein the packet is received. ie, Sw2 will send the ARP packet to all the ports in Sw2. PC2 will also get the the ARP.
The ARP reply will make it way back using the same logic.
Now both the PCs can start the actual packet exchange. -
if I have two laptops connected to a single wireless hard drive (i.e. Time Capsule), what happens when one laptop wants to go on a trip and the other one needs to stay home? I'm afraid I know the answer, but I'm hoping Apple has a great solution to my problem.

The computer on a trip will do snapshot backups on the hard drive that will then be incorporated into the Time Machine backup once you get it back home. See

Open the Terminal in the Utilities folder and enter or paste the appropriate command line. Press RETURN and enter your admin password when prompted. It will not be echoed.
To turn them ON: sudo tmutil enablelocal
To turn them OFF: sudo tmutil disablelocal
Note that turning them OFF will also delete all existing snapshots. -
What happens when max job limit of few RAS server is reached?
Hi, I would like to know what happens when max job limit of server is reached. I know that we need to increase the job limit but my question is a bit different.
We have 7 RAS per servers. I got this message "The maximum report processing jobs limit configured by your system administrator has been reached" on 4 RAS servers but not all 7. I am tracking servers using PIDs on WIndows server 2003.
Does this means this is a warning that Job limit of 75 (in our case) has reached for 4 servers and for remaining 3 servers its still not reached. This means 3 servers are still able to handle more report request as they have not reached their max limit.
OR
This message means all of the servers have reached to their max limit and there is no more request which can be taken.
We are doing 3000 users performance testing on 21 RAS servers.
We are on BOXI R2 SP3 on IIS and opening crystal reports using .NET SDK.

What happens when Time Machine starts to fill up a drive?
Using Time Machine on a partitioned External HD has been an absolute snap! I love the app. My main disappointment with it is that it has no literature on HOW it works, and no real ways for me to set different controls for it other than on and off.
My question is that what happens when a drive starts to get full? I have about 30 gigs left on the partition, and I am wondering what Time Machine is going to do. Does it just delete the oldest material, or does it simply fill up and tell me to look at everything on there and decide to clear it all off. I hate that I don't know what will happen.
-JonFrom what I've read (I've not gotten a drive full so I can't speak from experience), when the TM drive gets full, it will notify you that it's going to start deleting the oldest backups to make space for the new ones. This general behavior is mentioned in the Mac Help for Time Machine, though it makes no mention about notifying you before it deletes the old backups, so I'm not sure about that part.

What happens when the Time Machine drive is full?
I'm on my second iMac. My first one (G5, 1984) died, and I replaced it early 2010 with an Intel mac. The transition when exceedingly well largely due to Time Machine. I just hooked the Time Machine drive to the new system, and I was soon back up running!
My home folder has 70GB of data. The Macintosh drive has 105GB of data and 395GB free. The Time Machine drive has 220GB used and 30GB free.
1. What happens when the Time Machine drive is full?
2. Do I have control over what backups get deleted?
3. If lightning strikes twice, will I still be able to restore my Intel mac like my G5 mac, even if backups get deleted?
4. Is there anyway to control what backups/backup files get deleted?
5. Any other thoughts?

Do you mean all of them? The entire Backups.backupdb folder?
That's a large mess. First, even a normal delete will take a very long time, as there are probably hundreds of thousands, or even millions, of files. Your best bet by far is to simply erase them with Disk Utility -- that will only take a few moments. If your TM drive has a single partition, see #1 in [Formatting, Partitioning, Verifying, and Repairing Disks|http://web.me.com/pondini/AppleTips/DU.html]. If there are other partition(s) on the drive, see #2 there.
If not, and you only deleted some of the folders, you have a different, worse problem. Unfortunately, Apple doesn't do a very good job of warning folks: +*Never move, change, or delete anything in your backups via the Finder or Terminal.+*
You shouldn't have to delete backups at all, since Time Machine will do that automatically when the disk/partition gets full. But you can do it without harm via Time Machine. See #12 in [Time Machine - Frequently Asked Questions|http://web.me.com/pondini/Time_Machine/FAQ.html] (or use the link in *User Tips* at the top of this forum).
A normal delete will take a very long time, as there are probably tens or hundreds of thousands of items, each of which must be individually deleted. A secure delete will take much, much longer, as each deleted file must be overwritten with zeros. -
What happens when I join Creative Cloud years from now?
Our company has CS6 now and don't feel it's in the books to join Creative Cloud at this point. What happens when we have to join 1 year to 1.5" down the road? Will we have to pay a penalty fee or do we just join at the $69.99/seat team price?
MAS ART, There is not penalty fees for not joining Creative Cloud subscription. You are free to join it later. Its just that the membership plans may be different then.

What happens when you rent movies and they don't play and you tried getting credit for it? I rented two movies which they were very very old movies in black & white and they both don't play. I never had this problem before even when downloading videos. Now how can I get credit for it? I contact itunes a number of times and no one has done nothing as of yet. Itunes also asked me for my order number which I sent them but still no credit.

I recently downloaded Parallels 9 to my imack so I could install Windows 7 Home Premiumwith no problem and everthing is working fine, and I was thinking of Migrating the 2 2 and was wondering what benefits there would be and what happens when I do.
Windows 7 will peer down through the VM and remember what hardware the VM is installed on. Migrate the VM to different Mac hardware, and on first boot, Windows 7 will advise you that you are not using genuine Microsoft Windows. It will then treat you as though it believes you misappropriated it.

What if a Time Machine backup was created on a Mac with a large hard disk, e.g. 500GB iMac - and I buy a new MacBook Air with a small SSD hard disk e.g 128GB. What happens when I need to use the larger Time Machine file to set up the new MacBook Air? What happens to all those files that can't fit on the smaller SSD drive?
It is not the HD size, but rather the size of the data it contains. If you right-click your 500GB drive and select "Get Info" you can see how much is actually being used.
Naturally if you are using more space than the new drive has, then you have to make some choices about what you want to keep and what you want to keep archived.
I don't know what options are available but you may simply have to do a manual restore of files you want, in groups. -
What happened when multiple audio players start at the same time?

I am developing a game, using JMF to play sound.
These sound are stored in mp3 files.
In order to decode mp3 files, I installed JMF and mp3-plugin( jmf-2_1_1e-windows-i586.exe , javamp3-1_0.exe).
In the Game, a background music play back repeatly.When EndOfMediaEvent happened, I setMediaTime(new Time(0)) and then start().It works well.
There are several sound-effects,may start at any time,
so 2 or more sounds may play back at the same time,
and then Strange things happened.
Those sound-effects, usually short, can not play back inextenso.
They lose some beginning part, the length of the part is not constant.
i.e. Audio should start at MediaTime 0, but now they start at MediaTime x, x >= 0,
not only that, sometimes, Audio process bar runs, but no sound heared.
I do not know what is happening.
So please help me, thanks a lot.
The way that I use Players:
initialize:
create realized players from mp3 files
prefetch them
finalize:
deallocate not null players
then close them
using:
player.setMediaTime(new Time(0))
then player.start()
My Environment:
Windows XP, java 1.4.10, JMF2.1.1, MP3-plugin1.0This is very strange, difficult to guess the cause... never had such an issue. Normally when the object to which the audio is attached disappears the audio stops. So in your case going to a next slide should stop the audio of the previous slide. Same with object audio.
Do you have the different audio clips (one per slide) in the Library? Could you try to delete the audio on the slide and drag it again from the Library to see if you have the same result? And what happens when you attach the audio clip to an object on the slide (you can create a totally transparent rectangle with no stroke that will not be visible to attach the audio).

VDI3: what happens when the Primary VDI core fails?
A potential customer asked me this and I did not really know how to answer the question ... sorry if this was asked before. So here we go:
What happens when and if the Primary VDI core fails? Will the entire VDI3 setup go down? Will running sessions be lost? And how do you fix that?

If this is correct then this would answer the "how do you fix that?" part. OK then.
But still I'd welcome if anyone could explain what exactly would happen when and if a Primary VDI core fails. The customer's opinion on this is that they are a "single point of failure" because the Primary VDI host is not redundant (as opposed to the 2 x Secondary VDI cores) ... So, is this assumption correct or not?

Assuming you have 3 VDI core hosts. One of them is the primary. And the primary goes down. So what happens then:
* The underlying database is still running on the remaining hosts
* All desktop sessions are still running on the remaining hosts
* New session requests will be handled by the remaining hosts.
* All desktops are still running on the virtualization hosts.
So in essence, your VDI cluster is still healthy. The operation is just impacted in this way:
* You can't add new VDI core hosts
* You can't change the configuration of the Sun Ray server failover group
* A failure of another VDI core host (data node) will result into a complete outage of the underlying database
You should bring up the primary again as soon as possible in order to gain failover capabilities again.

Im just about to get the 2g shuffle. Im a little ****** that it doesn't maintain its memory of where i left off in my playlist of shuffled songs, and that it will repeat continuously after whole list has been played through. From what i understand it will lose my playlist order, if i shut it off. what happens when i leave it on pause, will it shut off in a minute and will restart from last moment once play is pressed, or will it lose its memory..or stay paused and drain the battery,,,,, what happens?

After PAUSE, if left untouched it will go to sleep...but should retain position. The proper procedure is to press PAUSE and then hold PAUSE down for 3 seconds which will disable the buttons...
IF you PAUSE and then turn OFF, it will play from where it was PAUSEd.
Another neat feature is automatic PAUSE when the earphone plug is disconnected... -
What happens when the multiply effect is applied to both the object and the graphic within?

I could really use some help with this...
I'm getting a booklet ready to be printed. Originally, half of the pages were to be printed on paper with a (physical) colour. For budget reasons however, I've now decided to print the paper colour, and have the content of the pages overprinted on the tint in the background, which I've applied to the pages in the background of an additional master page.
When I set the objects to multiply, they blend with the background colour, which is the effect I'm looking for, as there would be no 'paper white' on the pages that I want to appear as though printed on coloured paper.
There's something confusing me though; you can also set the graphic within the object frame to multiply. This makes the graphic appear darker, which I don't really understand, since there is no extra colour within the graphic that accounts for this. I've looked at the output in the resulting pdf, and it looks like it's not just an on-screen effect, but the extra amount of (in this case) yellow would also be visible in the printed result.
Does anyone have an explanation for this? Please see the graphic for a visual example.

Yes. There is a heartbeat mechanism between all cluster members so they detect when a
member has left the cluster. The primary server recognizes when it's secondary server
has failed, and then proceeds to search for another member of the cluster to make as
it's new secondary.

Thanks for answering. I have the standalone version of Lightroom 6 on my Windows 7 64 bit desktop. A number of times when have tried to open the program, the Adobe Application Manager has popped up requiring me to sign in even though I had not knowingly signed out. Lightroom will not launch unless I am signed in. Frequently when Lightroom launches, I see a "Server Busy" message telling me to "switch to the other program" without telling me which program to switch to. I have pinned the AAM to my notification area and have unchecked the "Show OS Notifications box" to see if the "Server Busy" message goes away. So far everything seems to be okay
