What happens when I try to install iTunes 9 upgrade
I tried to install the update for iTunes and it effed everything up; so, I've tried to uninstall iTunes and download it againand this is the error I get (a windows installer window pops up):
"The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable. Click OK to try again, or enter an alternate path to a folder containing the installation package 'iTunes.msi' in the box below."
I've tried to use the source that was given in the drop down box and that didn't work. I tried the alternate source listed in the drop-down tab and that didn't work. I tried to browse to find the folder that contains the installation and that didn't work. I even tried to do a search to see if that file comes up anywhere in my computer and it does not. I cannot uninstall iTunes and I cannot reinstall iTunes, nor can I repair the existing file. It keeps saying "The installation source for this product is not available. Verify that the source exists and that you can access it".
I can uninstall everything associated with iTunes accept for Bonjour because it asks me to close any applications I currently have running in order to install (for example: Outlook, Quickbooks and Excel).
When I try to install the new version, the same error pops up and it also tells me that the older version of iTunes cannot be removed.
It says "The isntaller encountered errors before iTunes could be configured. Your system has not been modified. To retry these operations at a later time, please run the installer again.
I see lots of people hvaing problems with this iTunes upgrade...
Anyone found any solutions yet???
It really ***** not having music to listen to while I work!

Download and install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility from Microsoft:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/290301/
Now run the utility ("Start > All programs > Windows Install Clean Up"). In the list of programs that shows up in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and then click "Remove".
Quit out of CleanUp and reboot the PC. Now try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time?

When I try to install itunes I get an error message that says "Cannot access internet connection \." Can someone please tell what this means?
My internet connection is working.Okay. We'll try a different utility.
(1) Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility installer file (msicuu2.exe) from the following Major Geeks page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page):
http://majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=4459
(2) Doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file and follow the prompts to install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. (If you're on a Windows Vista or Windows 7 system and you get a Code 800A0046 error message when doubleclicking the msicuu2.exe file, try instead right-clicking on the msicuu2.exe file and selecting "Run as administrator".)
(3) In your Start menu click All Programs and then click Windows Install Clean Up. The Windows Installer CleanUp utility window appears, listing software that is currently installed on your computer.
(4) In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
(5) Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time? -
When I try to install iTunes on my Windows 7 PC, I get an error message that Apple application support is needed. What do I need to do?
For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down page in case one of them applies.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.
The section Install missing components has advice on breaking down the iTunes installer into the individual .msi files which might prove useful if Apple Application Support won't install normally. You could try this approach first.

When I try to install iTunes 64bit on wndows 7 I get "missing dll" message and install fails.
I have restarted my PC. Redownloaded the installer from apple. Checked the hash thingy etc...nothing seems to work...I am glad you left this up here: nowhere does the error say what the problem is, other than a "missing .dll file." I have seen several other people cite the same issue in detail, but the only responses seems to be 'snarky' -- that the person didn't give enough detail, and that they aren't mind readers.

When I try to install itunes 10.5.2, I get the following error message "The installer has insufficient privileges to modify this file c\progamfiles\itunes\itunes.exe and won't install. help
Okay ... so it's not one of the cases of bodged up ACLs on the Apple folder in Common Files. (That's been underlying a few of the recalcitrant E7W5s.
Just in case, let's try the fixit from the following document:

I keep getting an error message that says "The administrator has set policies to prevent this installation" when I try to install iTunes. I have tried everything on the website. When i try to remove the components of iTunes I get the same message. How can I download iTunes?
Let's try something relatively simple. Download and save a copy of the installer to your hard drive (don't run the install on line and don't start the install just yet):
http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
Now right-click on the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64Setup.exe) that you downloaded and select "Run as administrator".
Does that go through any better for you? -
