What heck is going on?? 5.1 updates on windows, but not on Mac

Question

I tried several times yesterday to update all of the iPhones with my macbook, but had no luck. I tried again tonight and still no luck. I decided to try my daughters laptop and I had no problems updating 3 of my iPhones. I decided to try again with my last iPhone on my macbook and still just shows it's trying to connect to the server. I stopped the process and hooked it up my daughter's laptop and it's updating with no issues as we speak. What's going on with my mac? I even tried to directly download the ipsw 5.1, but I'm unable to downoad anything on my mac? I've checked my internet connections and everything appears to be normal. This makes no sense at all.
