  • I don´t find my iPod Touch, and I don´t have the iCloud thing, what should I do to find it?' =/

Hey! My iPod is lost =( The caractheristics of it are: black iPod, blue case, and the home button doesn´t work, please, if you have it, please tell me

    Hi Cynthia,
If you did not have Find My iPod enabled, and you do not have iCloud, then you cannot track it. You can report it to the police, you should change your AppleID password, and then all you can do is old fashioned detective work - start with the last place you remember having it, and check every place in between that point and now....
Sorry you lost your iPod - hope you find it!
    Cheers,

Hey Sierra, You can do just what you have stated. My question, what is your "other"? If it is over 1.5 GB you most likely have corrupt files. Doing a Restore to New, Factory restore should correct it. Just make sure you make a full backup of all information on your iPod to your computer before you restore, so you don't lose your stuff, contacts, videos, pictures, non-iTunes music, etc, use the cable and connect with your computer. Then, via cable, connect to your computer, run the Restore to new, don't use your backup. Treat this iPod as if it was your first one ever. When restore is done, set up and add what info you wish to install on this iPod. The music apps etc you purchased should be on your computer, if not you should be able to retrieve purchased apps and music from iTunes. Any music, videos, apps not purchased from iTunes will be lost to you if you do not save them to your computer or the cloud first. When your done, make a current Backup and you should good to go. Hope this helps. Good luck. Cheers.

  • I lost a lot of tracks while syncing my ipod touch with iTunes. I have managed to get some of them back with a free download, but iTunes will not let me dowload whole albums which I have paid for. It does recognise that they have been purchased. What do n

As I've already said to get this far: I have lost a lot of tracks while syncing my iPod Touch with iTunes. I have managed to get free downloads of some of the single tracks, but when I try to download entire albums the system informs me that I have already purchased them and a pop-up window informs me I can get them back from my "Purchased" file. I would not be trying to dowload them again if they were anywhere on the iPod, would I? The other problem seems to be that with single tracks I don't know before I hit the purchase button if I have picked it from the right album and I have had to pay for it again.
I feel that I have been totally ripped off by iTunes and, apart from ranting on this forum, I don't seem to be able to let my feelings known. It's like a guy from my local record store coming round and nicking my albums and telling me that it's tough!
The point here is folks, that it was syncing two Apple sites which caused the loss of these tracks and from what I've read elsewhere this is a regular fault. And please don't tell me that it's my fault for having a pc. Apple shouldn't sell a product for pc, when it doesn't work on pc!

    - Are you saying that they are not listed in your Purchased section?
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
    - Are they listed in your Puchases history when you log into your account on your computer?
    - Are they still available now for purchase? If not then you are out of luck
If they are still available and listed in your Puchase History then contact iTunes

  • I bought an apple iPod 5th generation the other day and I cannot remember the unlock passcode. I have done the restore thing, but because I never set it up or synced it with iTunes, it does not recognize my device. It is disabled for one hour. Please help

I bought an apple iPod 5th generation the other day and I cannot remember the unlock passcode. I have done the restore thing, but because I never set it up or synced it with iTunes, it does not recognize my device. It is disabled for one hour. There's only a few things that could be my passcode, but because it disables for an hour, it is time consuming trying to figure it out. What do I do? I do not care about having to erase everything since it's new and there's nothing on it, but it was never synced with iTunes.

    Disabled
Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.

If recovery mode does not work try DFU mode.

    For how to restore:
    iTunes: Restoring iOS software
    To restore from backup see:
iOS: Back up and restore your iOS device with iCloud or iTunes
If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.
You can redownload most iTunes purchases by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
If problem what happens or does not happen and when in the instructions? When you successfully get the iPod in recovery mode and connect to computer iTunes should say it found an iPod in recovery mode.

  • HT204053 I am looking at purchasing an iphone and we have a ipad and ipod at home all under the same apple id. I would like my daughter to have a seperate id then myself for signing in for itunes, etc...what do I need to do to make this happen.

I am looking at purchasing an iphone and have an my daughter has an ipad at home and I want to have seperate apple ids when we use them and download and such.. What do I need to do?

If you want her to have a new iTunes account then there are instructions on this page for how to create one : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2731
Or if you don't want to give credit card details then follow the instructions on this page when creating the account : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2534
You can then use that account on the phone (Settings > iTunes & App Store for the stores, Settings > iCloud etc)
All of your downloads from your existing account will remain tied to that account. If you want to use the same computer for syncing then you can do do, you can have more than one account authorised on a computer's iTunes (Store > Authorise This Computer menu option), but only one account can be logged in for purchasing/downloading. But if you use iTunes Match, automatic downloads or redownload an account's past purchases then you may tie that computer to that account for 90 days : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4627 - so you won't be able to do any of those three things on a different account until the 90 days have completed (it shouldn't affect being able to make new purchases)

  • HT204053 I tried to gift someone something but the credit card I was on my account wasn't any good and I don't have access to a credit card... Problem is now it won't let me do anything like DL FREE apps n stuff until I enter a valid credit card but I don

Now I'm screwed cuz I don't have a valid CC to use and I can't do a **** thing until iTunes or AppStore gets me to enter a valid CC... Problem is I could just create a new account but I have about $100 loaded onto this account I'm currently using... Is there anything I can do at this point? Besides go spend money on a prepaid credit card which I don't have money for and enter that info in??? Please help!! I can't even  download FREE apps right now or ANYTHING basically cuz of this **** gift thing I was trying to send! This is what I get for being nice I guess! I figured since I had close to $100 in my iTunes/AppStore account it would take the money for the gift from that but noooooo it tried to use the credit card  I had on file!! Ugh

You can't use your account's balance for gifting, you can only use a credit card - your balance can only be used to buy content for yourself. Until you pay what you owe iTunes then you won't be able to download any items from the store on that account.
If you haven't got a valid credit card then you can try contacting iTunes support and see if they can cancel the gift or take what you owe them from your balance: http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page

My iPod touch 4 generation 32gb sometimes is really slow. When ever my iPod is being slow and I get on an app the app will shut down. My lock botton is broken and I use the accesery botton to lock it. That being said I can't power down my iPod. I need help, I don't know what to do! Could you tell me how I can power down my iPod or how I can fix the slowness and the shutting down of the apps.

    - Periodically double click the home button and close all the apps in the recently used dock. Then power off and then back on the iPod. This frees up memory. The 4G only has 256 MB of memory.
    - Next, reset the iPod
To reset the iPod without the hardware buttons,
Reset network settings: Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings. All your wifi and bluetooth preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected. You will have to rejoin wifi networks and repair BT devices
    Then you can try:
    - Restore from backup. See:
    iOS: How to back up
      - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.

    Hi Don ...
"Although you can browse the iTunes Store in any country without being signed in, you can only purchase content from the iTunes Store for your own country. This is enforced via the billing address associated with your credit card or other payment method that you use with the iTunes Store, rather than your actual geographic location."

Could be since it (security software) is listed as #5 in the following:
iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch: Device not recognized in iTunes for Windows
