You should be able to login by the 2 ways suggested by CKPT.
if in case you are still not able to login then try to disable your password file by setting:
REMOTE_LOGIN_PASSWORDFILE = noneafter that you will be able to login as
sqlplus / as sysdba Regards,How can he do that if he is not sysdba? From the doc:
Modifiable      No
Note:
When REMOTE_LOGIN_PASSWORDFILE is set to either exclusive or shared, but the password file does not exist, then the behavior is the same as setting REMOTE_LOGIN_PASSWORDFILE to none."Just rename the passwordfile.

TERM is set to the type of terminal you are using. Note: If you are using openwindows, you may have to redefine the variable TERM to sun (instead of cmd-sun) and you should execute ORACLE from a shelltool.
TWO_TASK is set to the location where ORACLE server can be found and will normally be the name of the database instance. This variable helps simplify the command line for starting ORACLE tools.

  • What's my System Password?!

I've just installed my AirPort express, which is working great, but everytime my computer starts up, it asks for the "System Password" to access the keychain.
I don't remember ever setting my System Password, and it's not my Admin Password or any of the other passwords I always use.
How do I find out my System Password! I'm at my wits end! I can't even reset it because I need to put in my original one.
(And the strange thing is, once my AirPort express defaults to my 2Wire Gateway because it can't access the keychain, I can simply chose my Apple Network on the AirPort pull down menu without a problem!)

Hi, yeah, that can be very frustrating. Here lets try somethings together. When did you reset your password. Do you type in the right password? Apple passwords are case sensitive. The first letter of your password should be a Capital Letter, did you put that in. Does your password look like this e.g Apple180000? Try shutting your iPhone off and On. Try those and let me know how it went.

You can log in to the Enterprise Manager Database Control with any DBA user. Typically, you should be able to logon as sys or as system. The passwords for these two users where specified by you during the install of the database.
If you can't remember them, you should be able to change them on the command line after a connect as sysdba there.

  • What is the correct Patch for Oracle 11gR1 to be at Oracle 11.1.0.7 Solaris

What is the difference between the following types of patches for Solaris 10.0.9 64 bit? to be at 11.1.0.7 on Solaris 64bit OS version 10/9 ?
    * RDBMS Server
    * Oracle Database Family

Can't make it easy, for you shall then forget that easily.
To start with, you may try to understand the difference between
    1) a patch and a patchset.
    2) different flavours of patch - one-off, CPU, PSU
then the answer for your question shall be as clear as water (not the one from the oil sands tailing :) )
    Good luck.

  • What is the user and password to Oracle 8.17

    Dear expert,
I have loaded IDES 4.7 with Oracle 8.17.
I wish to query the SAP table using Oracle PL/SQL.
What is the user, password and string to login into SAP Oracle database? Since I was not asked for user and password when installing Oracle I do not know how to login.
Also can you let me know how to view/change table fields in SAP tables. I understand there are different ways but which in your opinion is the easiest to find the record I want to correct(as some tables have many fields).
    Your kind assistance is appreciated.

Thank you for your reply. Both the user and password does not work on my IDES 4.7e system.
However I tried with user Internal and without password and I successfully login.
I then create a new user and also change the user=system
    password.

  • What is the password for 'oracle' user created during XE installation?

    Hi,
What is the password for 'oracle' user automatically created when XE is installed?
I installed XE on Linux and it's created under 'oracle' user, but I don't know 'oracle' password. So, I cannot stop TNS listener.
During configuration, it prompted me to enter SYS and SYSADMIN password but it didn't ask me to enter 'oracle' user password.
Please let me know or point me to the document.
    Thanks,
    N

    Hi Jari,
I tried your suggestion, but it didn't work unfortunately.
When I type (sudo su -oracle) as follows, it still prompts the password. When I hit Enter key w/o anything, it seems to proceed and the prompt shows up in the following line. So, I thought it was successful, but when I checked 'whoami', it's not logged in as 'oracle'.
So, I created the password for 'oracle' and logged in as 'oracle' using a new password. Then, I stopped TNS listener to uninstall XE.
It would be nice if it's documented in XE document somewhere... since it's created by XE installation, I assumed some kind of default password was used.
    Thanks,
    N

  • Password for Oracle user , sys , system , saprpd

    Hi All ,
I just join a new company as sys admin . I tried to search password for Oracle user sys , system and saprd in my company password file . Those users password are not stored.
Am I supposed to know those oracle user password ? If yes , Can I find them in my Unix system or sap application ?
    Please help !
    Felix

It is not possible to determine the passwords if you don't know them. But perhaps note 562863 and the described default passwords are useful. Furthermore you can always change passwords if you have SYSDBA privilege using "alter user ... identified by ..." or "brconnect -f chpass".

  • Cannot create ASM disk groups in DBCA - Oracle 11gR1, Windows 32bit

    Good afternoon,
Using 11gR1 on Windows XP, I need help installing a database (single instance) using ASM, I am not able to select disks to be stamped for use by ASM. I have done the following steps:
    1. Installed the Oracle 11gR1 software (no database created - just the software)
    2. Connected nine (9) SCSI hard drives to the system
    3. Created a primary partition on each hard drive, formatted the partition but did *not* assign a drive letter
    4. Created a listener service (working properly - checked with lsnrctl  status)
    5. Started DBCA to create a single database instance using ASMIn DBCA I performed the following:
    a. at the welcome screen, click Next
    b. at "Step 1 of 16", click Next (accepting the default "Create a Database")
    c. at "Step 2 of 16", click Next (accepting the default "General Purpose or Transaction Processing)
    d. at "Step 3 of 16", "Global Database Name" set to "dbca", "SID" set to "dbca", click Next
    e. at "Step 4 of 16", click Next (accepting the defaults)
    f. at "Step 5 of 16", click "Use same administrative passwords for all accounts" and entered password, click Next
    g. at "Step 6 of 16", click "Automatic Storage Management (ASM)", click Next
Everything seems just fine until I reach the following step
    h. at "Step 7 of 16", click "Create New"
        - The Create Disk Group window pops up (there is nothing shown in the "Select Member Disk Area")
        - set the "Disk Group Name" to  "DATAGROUP"
        - click on "Show All" (no devices shown after clicking)
        - click on "Stamp Disks..."  this causes the "asmtool operation" window to pop up
          - click on "Add or change label", click on Next
          - the "Select Disks" step appears.   There are 11 hard drives listed but NONE of them
can be selected - all I can do here is click on Cancel*The question:* Why aren't the drives selectable and what do I need to do to make them selectable ?
Thank you very much for your help,
    John.

    >
The question: Why aren't the drives selectable and what do I need to do to make them selectable ?
    >
To answer my own question (now that I've figured it out), the reason is because the partition should not be formatted.
When Windows displays the "New Partition Wizard", it is important to:
    1. not assign a drive letter
    2. and select "Do not format this partition"
This will cause Windows to mount the volume thus making it accessible to Oracle.
Hopefully this will help someone not fall in this trap as I did,
    John.

  • MYSQL 55 to Oracle 11gr1 replication(oneway) - can not replicate

I have setup golden gate replication between mysql 55 and oracle 11gr1. While trying to setup the initial load, I do'nt see any data push to oracle from mysql.
What could be wrong in my setup.? has anyone tried this kind of setup? i see the the report for replicat and it says data is not replicated. while extract shows that 4 rows from table are taken for insert.

    Hi Stev
I am trying to do the initial load process
    On source (MYSQL 55)
    database (ggtest and table test)
    table test has
    TEST(COL1 INT)
manager is running on default port 7809
manager parameter file is defined with (PORT 7809)
There is initial load extract (EINI01) -->
    ADD EXTRACT EINI01
    param file
    EXTRACT EINI01
SOURCEDB [email protected], USERID ggsdev, PASSWORD ggsdev
    RMTHOST 192.168.75.116, MGRPORT 7809
    RMPTTASK REPLICAT, GROUP RINI01
    TABLE ggtest.TEST
    On target oracle 11gr1 (11.1.0.6)
Database in archive log mode, with minimum supplemental logging.
    replicat process
    ADD REPLICAT RINI01
    Parameter file for replicat
    REPLICAT RINI01
USERID ggs_owner, PASSWORD ggs_owner ( added in target database)
    ASSUMTARGETDEFS
    SETENV (NLS_LANG="AMERICAN_AMERICA.WE8MSWIN1252")
    MAP ggtest.TEST , TARGET GGTEST.TEST;
-- to start the initial load ( mysql side has 4 rows, oracle has no row )
on source, i ran the command
    ggsci> start extract eini01
I can see on report, extract has picked 4 rows for insert, but on replicat side no replication done. No error reported in gserr.log and there was a communication between source side of extract with traget side manager and sunsequently repliacat on target was started by manager and stopped normally. but no rows replicated.
Between oracle-to-oracle there is no problem. But my actual project is to setup from mysql to oracle (one way replication).
let me know if you need any other info.
    Thanks

  • Is there defaut username and password in oracle 10g

    hello
is there default user and password in oracle 10 g ?

Not sure exactly what you asking.
At least Oracle has two defaultDBA user SYSTEM and SYS
    Database Administrator Usernames
Two user accounts are automatically created when Oracle Database is installed:
    SYS (default password: CHANGE_ON_INSTALL)
    SYSTEM (default password: MANAGER)

  • Changing passwords of oracle users

    Dear all
I wander is there any problem if changing password of oracle users SAPOWNER, system, sys . (I guess command for that is brconnect -u system/<password> -f chpass -o <sapowner> -p <password>
). What about sys and system. (I hope that after changing passwords the system will be functional)
Which user is used when "sqlplus / as sysdba"
    thank you in advance

    Hello Jan,
I wander is there any problem if changing password of oracle users SAPOWNER, system, sys
Well we already discussed the SAPOWNER here: http://forums.sdn.sap.com/message.jspa?messageID=10814500#10814500
If you change the password of SYSTEM or SYS there will be no problem at all. These users/password combination is not used in a SAP environment unless you explicitly specify the SYSTEM user and password in some BR*Tools calls like brconnect. If you just use the "/" default approach, the OS authentication mechanism (OSDBA) is used - so no issue there at all.
    @Orkun:
This is not a user, but a role. So when you connect to the database by using "/as sysdba" you will be able to connect to the system by sysdba role not by a user.
If you use this apporach you are connected with the user SYS - so you are using a user for sure (and btw. you can only logon with SYS by using SYSDBA role). The only difference between "sqlplus / as sysdba" and "sqlplus SYS as sysdba" is, that you are using the specified OSDBA group with the first approach (so no password is required).
    shell> pwd
    /oracle/<SID>/11202/rdbms/lib
    shell> grep dba config.s
    #  SS_DBA_GRP defines the UNIX group ID for sqldba adminstrative access.
            .rename H.16.ss_dba_grp{TC},"ss_dba_grp"
            .globl  ss_dba_grp{RW}

            .csect  ss_dba_grp{RW}, 3
    # End   csect   ss_dba_grp{RW}
            .string "dba"
    shell> sqlplus / as sysdba
    SQL> SELECT sys_context('USERENV', 'SESSION_USER') FROM DUAL;
    SYS_CONTEXT('USERENV','SESSION_USER')
    SYS
    shell> sqlplus SYS as SYSDBA
    Enter password:
    SQL> SELECT sys_context('USERENV', 'SESSION_USER') FROM DUAL;
    SYS_CONTEXT('USERENV','SESSION_USER')

  • I forgot sys and system password

    Dear All,
I installed oracle database 9.2.0.6 one year ago and I am using this database for RMAN.
Today I need it to do something else but I really forgot the sys and system password and i dont know what to do.
I appreciate your help on that.
    Thanks

    Hi,
    >>I really forgot the sys and system password
Really ? or are you trying to hack the database ? :-)
    You can try this too:
Use the orapwd utility in order to re-create the SYS password...
    e.g.: orapwd file=orapw<SID> password=adm entries=5
