What is "custom version" firmware on unbranded, un...

I live in the U.S. and recently purchased from Dell.com a new black E72 (RM-529). According to Device Manager, it is a Model E72-2, with "Software version" 022.007, Software version date 10-Dec-2009, and "Custom version" 022.007.244.02, Custom version date 13-Jan-2010. My question is, what is "Custom version" firmware in this case? It is new, just out of the sealed box.

It lists a "custom version" for every device, whether it's got the generic software or not. Presumably 244.02 is just the current version for the generic software.
Help I'm trapped in a sig factory.

The above answer is incorrect. That number would be the same for someone who had updated to v50 or someone who had v50 out of the box.
The custom version number is a more specific number that takes into account regional (and sometimes network) variances.
In the past on some models there has been updates that don't change the software version but do change the custom version number. These are believed to have been extremely minor updates, perhaps to correct a spelling mistake in a certain language.
When talking about your phone on forums it's better to refer to your firmware just using the shorter software version number.
Also the bit that says "not updated" is normal. If you update via FOTA it shows the date you updated. If you update using NSU or reset the phone it will always say not updated.

  • What was the last firmware version for the Zen Micro before M

I would like to know what was the last firmware version for the Zen Micro before the MTP firmware?
Please make sure you are 00% on this.
    Thankyou.

I think it does, but I'm not sure; since I wanted MTP, I only used .x firmware long enough to save the original Creative test files (with MediaSource, not ZMME) before upgrading to 2.x. And yes, I had to li've with 2..02's shorter battery life until 2.20.05 came out.
May I ask why you want to go back to .x firmware? The only thing that will get you is the ability to use it with Win98SE/2000/Me--but only if you can install Creative drivers on every PC you use it with. MTP requires WinXP SP or 2 and WMP 0, but doesn't need any Creative software at all to work. (Microsoft has made an MTP driver for Win98SE/2000/Me, but it requires customization and may not be supported by other software. I'm tinkering a bit with the customization part right now.)
There are other pitfalls in changing Micro firmware families, in either direction--you'll lose all the files on your Micro, you'll have to install a different ZMME (and I've heard non-MTP ZMME isn't quite as full-featured as MTP ZMME), and you'll need a new plug-in for MediaSource to work.

  • What is the latest firmware & version of SANtricity for my FlexLine 280's?

We have a pair of FlexLine 280's. They are at firmware 6.12. We use SANtricity 9.19.G2.04 to manage them.
I have been doing some research and know there is firmware levels 6.19, 6.60, and 7.x out there. Although, I'm not sure if there is a 7.x for the FLX280's.
I also know there are newer version of SANtricity, 9.19.G2.06 and a 10.10 version. But again, I'm not sure if 10.10 is compatible with the FLX280's.
So, can somebody help me out? What is the latest firmware for my FLX280's? What is the latest version of SANtricity I can use?
Also, am I entitled to free SANtricity upgrades? I am under a maintenance contract. Or is that something I would have to purchase?
    Thanks for any help,
    Nathan

The f/w 7.x isn't supported for the FLX280. The latest f/w is 6.60.xx.xx and there will be not 7.x f/w for the FLX280. In other words, the 6.60.xx.xx is the latest f/w we'll have for the FLX280.

As for Santricity I cannot answer.

What's the latest firmware version for the Xperia Tablet Z?
According to the Swedish and British Sony website, the latest version for the Xperia Tablet Z is 10.1.1.A.1.253 released on 17th of May.
But this is the latest version for the Xperia Z (phone) not the tablet Z... Or am I wrong?
It's a bit confusing, when the manufacturer cannot keep track of the phone and tablet...

Depends on if you have the WiF version or the LTE version. For LTE the latest is 10.1.1.A.1.253 and for WiFi it's 10.1.C.0.344.

  • What is the latest Firmware version

Can anyone please advise what is the latest firmware version for the Torch 9800.  Thank you.

    Yep, follow this instruction:
Device operating system releases are "released" by specific carriers once they have certified and trained their support techs, but still, you are able to load to any carrier's same model by following the instructions below.
Download the OS file from the link I gave you above.
    OR
First locate your carrier and the OS file you wish to use.
    http://na.blackberry.com/eng/support/downloads/download_sites.jsp
Do a backup of your device first, using Desktop Manager > Backup. Close Desktop Manager upon completion.
    1. Download the OS file to the PC then install it to the PC by running (double clicking) the file you downloaded.
    2. Go to c:\program files\common files\research in motion\apploader and delete the file named "vendor.xml." (You might have another Vendor.xml file hiding on your computer. Open Windows Explorer and under the Organize button (on Windows 7, there are similar tools for Vista and XP) click on "Folder and search options." Under the View tab, make sure that your computer is set to show hidden folders and files. Once you've done this, search your C:\ drive for "Vendor.xml".)
    3. Plug in BB and double click on "Loader.exe." It's located in the same place as the above vendor.xml file.
**Starting with the later OS6 releases, there are now three copies of VENDOR.XML
    C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader (for 32-bit Windows XP/Vista/7)
    ==========OR============
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader (for 64-bit Windows Vista/7)
    C:\Documents and Settings\*name*\AppData\Roaming\Research In Motion\BlackBerry\Loader XML
    C:\Documents and Settings\*name*\Application Data\Research In Motion\BlackBerry\Loader XML
You can also just search for VENDOR.XML. Make sure that you choose ADVANCED SEARCH and include hidden files. It should show the file in at three locations. Delete every copy that it finds.

  • Nokia Belle Custom Version & Custom Version Date P...

    Hello,
I just want to ask if there's anything wrong with my Nokia Belle version.
After the update, I checked the Device manager on my Nokia N8 and found out that the custom version is dated 2011-01-26. I feel something is wrong about the custom version date so I want to post this up and let you guys know about it. The custom version code is 111.030.0609.262.02.
As for the software version and the date, they are correct. The software version is 111.030.0609 and the date is 2011-11-26.
I'm not sure if this is a problem but does anyone has the same situation as mine?
I hope I can get a reply from this. Thank you.
My Nokia N8 product code is 059D7K4 (Malaysia - Blue N8)
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

You should always refer to the information for your product code and your country. So, on the availability page, look for your country first & then for your productcode.
Regarding the question if you lose your Arabic language, it depends on the fact what variant you have (ie. is the Arabic language included by default) or did you manually add it later.
Q: After the update to Nokia Belle, my phone language has changed and I can’t find my native language in the settings anymore. What should I do?
A:  A software update resets the language settings of your phone to the state in which the phone left production originally. That means, as an example: If your phone was originally produced for the Finnish market and had some additional languages like Chinese added manually later on, after the update to Nokia Belle your phone will not show the extra Chinese language anymore. If you have such a case, please consult your local Nokia Care point (locations via www.nokia.com/support).

  • BSI upgradation and customer version schema UTX0/UTAC

    Hi All,
In upgrading of BSI notes 1022656 describes all steps and in 9 th step it is given as modify customer version schema UTX0/UTAC.
What exactly to be done there.
Please can any one answer this que?
    Regards
    Senthil

UTX0 is tax sub-schema for US , and UTAC is tax sub-schema for US using concurrent employment (you only use this if your company is implementing concurrent emp).
All you have to do is to go to either one of these schema (again, depending on whether you use concurr. emp or not) or equivalent custom sub-schema and change line 'UPAR1 BSI 70' to 'UPAR1 BSI 80'.
    Rgds.

  • Architecture for base Product and customized versions of product

    Hello
We have a product written in Flex.
We have several customers who have this product. The product is customized to each customer.  When starting a new project, we copy the project of a customer who had similar requirements, and then make further changes.
We have this idea to have a base product layer and then have a customization layer where we can place project and customer-specific fuctionalities.   Also:  when we update the base product, these updates can be incorporated into the customized versions.
I wonder how can you accomplish this in Flex?
    Thank you,
    Juan Esteban

Developing a good plug-in architecture is *hard*.However, it's definitely worth it. The best approach will depend on exactly what you want to do. At the high level, you can:
    1. Write the base application and load plug-in modules, and allow them to changes aspects of the application behavior or style
    2. Turn your base application into a core application logic library and a (separate) custom component library, and turn each customer implementation into a new project that leverages these.
If you use dependency injection (e.g., SmartyPants or SwiftSuspenders), you can allow (1) a fairly flexible manner of interacting with the application without depending on gynormous "context" objects. You just need to perform injections on the loaded plugins, and they can pick up any dependencies without having to worry about anything else.
Whether (1) or (2) makes more sense will depend on exactly what you're trying to do, but in general, (2) is more flexible while (1) is somewhat simpler (and generally less per-implementation work).

  • What is Customer Exist?

    Dear All,
    What is Customer Exist?
What is Different Between User Exist & Customer Exist?
    Regards,
    Dharmesh

    Hi ,
    <b>Customer Exits :</b>
Pre-planned enhancement to the standard SAP system.
SAP anticipates potential customer requests not already implemented in the standard system by predefining them as 'empty modification modules'. Customers fill these modules with their own logic according to their own requirements.
SAP creates customer exits with transaction <b>SMOD</b>. From these customer exits, customers then use transaction <b>CMOD</b> to choose the enhancements they want to process, assign them to enhancement projects, edit the components, and activate the relevant projects.
Using customer exits guarantees upwards compatibility. This is because jumps to exits are predefined in the standard software and the validity of the call interface are both retained, even in future release upgrades.
    <b>Difference Between User-exits and Customer-exits</b>
    1. USER EXITS are FORMS and are called by SAP standard programs using PERFORM.
CUSTOMER EXITS are FUNCTIONS so they are called using CALL FUNCTION (or more exactly CALL CUSTOMER FUNCTION).
    2. Inside the form (user exit) you can read and change almost any global data from host program.
Inside a function (customer exit) you can only acces your import/export/changing/tables parameters.
3.User exits are more flexible because you have more information to use in your code but on the other hand , it is very easy to manipulate erroneously global data and lead the standard program to a dump or even to make database inconsistent.
Customer exits are more restrictive but you are sure any change you can make to any parameters will never lead to inconsistency.
    4.User-exit doesn’t have any classification.
In customer-exit we have function-module exit , screen exit , menu exit.
5.User Exits are Basically designed For SD module.
Customer Exits are available for MM,SD,FI,HR…..Basically designed for all modules.
    6. User-exits can be written only using access-key.
No need of access key to write a customer exit.
7.With user-exits the code , the developer has written will not be there for next version unless modification assistance tool is used.
Customer-exits are not wiped during upgradation.
    thanks  and regards,
    kunal.
