What is doing DCExecutableBinding isRefreshed() method?

Hi,
I would like to know what is doing DCExecutableBinding isRefreshed() method.
http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E15051_01/apirefs.1111/e10653/oracle/adf/model/binding/DCExecutableBinding.html#isRefreshed%28%29
More precisely, I have a DCIteratorBinding, and I whant to know when isRefreshed() method will return true. Why with some iterators I got true sometimes, and why with other I got false all the time?
Edited by: h0s on 9 déc. 2011 08:18

We have a UIShell based on Steven Davelaar UIShell :
http://blogs.oracle.com/jheadstart/entry/core_adf11_uishell_with_dynamic
If I ask this, it is beacause of a different behavior in "Marking Tab Dirty" functionality.
I try to understand why in some taskFlows it works fine, and why in other, I have DCIteratorBinding .isRefreshed() always returning false.
Can you say me when isRefreshed() method will return true?

  • To what class does this method belong?

    If one sees in the documentation something like
    - (retType *) text1:(Type1 *)aType1 text2:(Type2 *)aType2;
    then to what class does this method belong? I do not see in the Objective-C documentation any way that one can tell without the 'context' in which the method is declared or defined. This makes reading the documentation very difficult (for me). What you see is not what you get. There is stuff missing.
    In my world there is no difficulty in determining the class to which a method belongs. It is stated explicitly in the method name. For example:
    PROCEDURE (self: MyClass) methodName (arg1: Type1; arg2: Type2);
    and one sees that 'methodName' belongs to 'MyClass'.
    In Objective-C how does one know the class to which a method belongs? Is it only determined by context, that is, by the fact that it is within the @implementation section or that it is within the @interface section? If that is the case then I would think that in documentation one should always be required to assert something like:
    <<MyClass>> -(retType *) text1:(Type1 *)aType1 ...

    PeeJay2,
    I think I now have the distinctions needed but still have a question about what you said. But first here is my current understanding. A "method" is by definition bound to *at least* one class whereas a "message" need not be bound to any class. Hence one can send any message to any class and it will either be handled or ignored. A message looks like a method signature (and maybe one but is not constrained to be one).
    The difference between C++ and Objective-C is that in C++ method calls are not messages sent to a receiver. They are just calls of the method for the dynamically bound object. That method must be syntactically correct at compile time whereas messages need not be syntactically correct for any receiver. At least that is my current understanding.
    Now my question. You state that "casting the receiver of a message will in no way alter the flow of the code". I attempted to test this with a simple program but ran into a problem (see my new posting "Multiple classes in one file?").
    Assume the following
    @class Child : Parent
    Child *child = [[Child alloc] init];
    Parent *parent = [[Parent alloc] init];
    Parent *bar;
    bar = child;
    [bar doSomething]; // (C) call to child's doSomething method?
    [(Parent *)bar doSomething]; // (P) call to parent's doSomething method?
    You comment seems to say that both case (C) and (P) give the same result. If they do then which result is it the parent's or the child's method (assuming that the child has indeed reimplemented the parent's method)? Have I understood you correctly?

    iphone 4s is working for example can play,music recieve texts ,calls ect but has black screen and have tried the force shutdown method but still can see what im doing on the screen

    Did anything happen to prior to your phone acting this way? It sounds like your screen is dead, but it is hard to say without knowing what what the cause.
    1) was this a gradual problem? Did the phone screen start dimming a couple months ago and now has degraded or after some event (known or unknown to you), the phone started behaving this way.
    2) Can you give more specifics on the problem? You said you have a black screen, but also you can see what you're doing on screen. Is the screen just really dim? Is the screen completely black? Does anything else besides attempting to reset the device cause it to flash white?

  • Does somebody know,what diffrence between overide a method or to hide?

    Hi All!
    Does somebody know,what diffrence between overide a method or to hide?
    Thanks.

    Static methods are class methods. This means you can
    access them without having any existing instances of
    the class (className.methodName()).True. Further, I would argue that the language designers made a mistake in allowing static methods to be accessed via variables, since it only seems to add confusion.
    A static method (or any other method in fact) can be
    overriden by a sub class as long as it's not declared
    final in the superclass.Not true. A static method can be hidden by a subclass;Only instance methods can be overridden. If you disagree with this, please take time to read the link in one of my earlier posts, and look at the examples here:
    http://java.sun.com/docs/books/jls/second_edition/html/classes.doc.html#39617
    The difference between overriding and hiding can be demonstrated by the code below:
    class Superclass {
      public void instanceMethod() {
        System.out.println("Superclass.instanceMethod");
      public static void classMethod() {
        System.out.println("Superclass.classMethod");
    class Subclass extends Superclass {
      public void instanceMethod() {
        System.out.println("Subclass.instanceMethod");
      public static void classMethod() {
        System.out.println("Subclass.classMethod");
    public class MainClass {
      public static void main(String[] argv) {
        Superclass x = new Subclass();
        x.instanceMethod();
        x.classMethod();
    }The output is:
    Subclass.instanceMethod
    Superclass.classMethodThe instance method has been overriden and the class method has been hidden. The difference is:
    When you override a method, you are effectively saying "use this implementation instead of the one in the superclass", and client code has no way of calling the superclass' implementation. The implementation has been replaced.
    When you hide a method, the original implementation from the superclass can still be called by client code, via the superclass' class name, or a variable whose compile-time type is that of the superclass.

  • Tour got wet - here's what it does - how can I tell if it is "fried"?

    My Blackberry Tour (from 2009 - Blackberry device manager says I am running BB OS 4.7.1)  got wet in a rainstorm (phone was outside, not submerged, the wetness indicator strip on the battery has not had a line appear on it but a tab inside the phone is all red) approx. 5 days ago - I did some of what I should have done and some of what I probably should not have done as far as patience, lack of patience, letting it dry (in gentle heat (no hair dryer, etc. or rice), giving it a try... Here's what it does - my main questions are - do I have any hope of rescuing my contacts data - unfortunately, never backed-up?  If so, how?:
    - Without the Battery in:  Connected by USB cable to my laptop (plugged-in, USBs powered) (Windows 7; Blackberry Desktop version 5 (installed from the CD that came with the phone)) finds the phone in Windows device manager (Blackberry Smartphone connected via USB), as above, Blackberry device manager shows status as connected, can identify the phone's PIN, Blackberry Desktop Manager can see that the phone is connected (can see it's PIN) but shows that the device is in Disconnected State, the screen on the phone shows the battery with red X through it.
    With a Battery In:
    - the battery with red X goes away,
    typically starts with a red indicator light, then changes to black screen with hour glass,
    - then to black screen with "BlackBerry" and progress bar (showing boot progress?).
    - Boot progress bar completes,
    - the screen shows the Verizon logo, then
    - I get a flash (sometimes longer than others) of my desktop picture (it's one of the pre-loaded ones that is not on the micro-SD card, which I have removed).
    - At this point there is a new progress bar which indicates that the phone is checking security settings (I cannot remember verbatim what it says, but it typically completes and, since I probably shouldn't be powering it on, I will not do that to get an exact quote; suffice to say, that usually completes).
    - In terms of the desktop, I can also see that, in addition to my selected picture being there , the phone remembers my alarm time at 6:40AM).
    - A couple of times when I restarted it, I held down the escape/back button during the boot and launched the phone in safe mode ("safe mode" appeared at the top of the screen - a dialog appeared that explained safe mode and allowed me to click "ok" that I accepted that I knew what safe mode was.
    - Whether in safe mode or not, it usually at this point returned to the initial power-up sequence, in a loop, between the red indicator light and the hourglass animation - it does not return to the screen with the "BlackBerry" logo with progress bar, just the aforementioned loop.
    At this point, I have tried two batteries - both Blackberry OEM, but with known/potential issues:  1.) the battery that was in the phone at the time it got wet - is approx. a year old (in terms of use), but was holding a reliable charge for 3-4 hours of talk time and
    2.) an older battery which may have been the one that was replaced by battery 1 or may be older - it almost certainly had diminshed charge holding capacity and had started the bulge that lithium batteries develop as the near death.  These batteries were not obtaining much, if any, in the way of  charge while in the phone plugged in, but did, outwardly (light changed from orange to green on a Blackberry OEM charger form the D-X1 battery; have not done a test with a circuit tester, etc.), accept a charge via the outside the phone method.  When using the inside the phone method - prior to any outside charging - during the boot-up process, at the point at which I could see my desktop, the indicator light flashed with the orange light and/or the indicator that one typically gets when the battery is lacking needs a re-charge).
    I have received and I am currently charging a new D-X1 Blackberry OEM battery, via the aforementioned Blackberry OEM outside the phone charger, for a go-around with the closest thing that I can get to a no problems battery.
    OK, I am an **bleep**: I tried to re-boot the phone right away, I wasn't doing a back-up (though I thought that it was 1.) the reason that I was buying a Blackberry with an SD card - that this information was going to be portable and 2.) that I thought that the tech from Verizon, way back when I bought it, set the phone up to store the information on the SD card (no such luck, not there) or the SIM card - how could I test that? (which is, perhaps, why I thought that a backup was taking place).  Anyway, as you can tell, I have tried to be as descriptive as possible herein to say what I am seeing, because there are a number of other people with similar problems posting in various places, but, not really the same problems (they are getting stuck on a white screen, not getting all the way through the boot that I describe, had a phone in the pool all day, don't care about the data, just trying to save the phone (I was lax about an upgrade, because I liked my phone and I had a decent outlay of cash in the phone to start-off - was pushing to make it to this fall, hopefully not much longer, to get the newer Blackberry Classic coming out... hopefully with my contact listing being ported over).  That said, I have found plenty of evidence that suggests saving the phone is a real possibility, but the data may be more of a challenge.
    Huge post, looking for thoughts - thanks for any consideration given to my problems.

    if booted up with out all the way dry you might have fried it
    put it in a bag of rice for a few days in a nice warm spot 90-100 F
    then try it again if it still does the same thing then its toast

  • Which object's monitor does a synchronized method acquire?

    from the Java Tutorial for concurrency programming:
    " When a thread invokes a synchronized method, it automatically acquires the intrinsic lock _for that method's object_ and releases it when the method returns. The lock release occurs even if the return was caused by an uncaught exception. "
    what exactly does this mean?
    do synchronized methods acquire the monitors for objects of type: java.lang.reflection.Method
    please consider this code:
    public class Foo {
      private int counter = 0;
      public synchronized void incriment() { counter++; }
      public synchronized void decriment() { counter--; }
    Foo f = new Foo();
    Class[] sig = new Class[0];
    Method m = f.getClass().getMethod("incriment", sig);
    // ok. so "m" is the relevant method object.
    f.incriment(); // <-- is the monitor for "m" ,
                          // or the monitor for "f", acquired?
    .......my reading of the Concurrency Tutorial is that synchronized methods use the monitors of java.lang.reflection.Method objects?
    and thus, Foo is not thread safe, right?
    however, this simple change makes Foo thread-safe?
    public class Foo {
      private volatile int counter = 0; // "volatile"
      public void incriment() { counter++; }
      public void decriment() { counter--; }
    }thanks.

    If a method is synchronized, it is. You don't need to go beyond that. The method is synchronized.Not true. You have to know what it means for a method to be synchronized. Often people come in with the erroneous impression that it somehow prevents you from using or accessing the object in any other thread.It's very simple. If a synchronized method is called at the same time from many threads only one call will be executed at a time. The calls will be lined up and performed one after the other in sequence.
    AND because synchronization is on a per object basis, when one synchronized method is being called from one thread, all synchronized methods of that same object are blocked for calling from other threads.
    Simple as that.No, it's not that simple, and as stated, that is not correct. In particular, you didn't mention that for an instance method, all the various threads have to be trying to call instance methods on the same object in order for execution to be sequential.
    You really can't understand Java's syncing without understanding how it relates to locks, and what it means for a method to be synchronized in terms of which lock it acquires.

  • What is wrong with this method?

    When i try to compile
         public double generateXPos()
              double d = Math.random()*100;
              if (d > 37.0)
                   generateXPos();
              else
                   return d;
    it says: "this method must return a result of type double", bit doesn't it do so?!?
    By the way I am using eclipse v. 3.0.1
    Thanks in advance,
    Floesch

    Because i could not think of this way of doing that,
    for i am a bloody beginner.A "bloody" beginner? You should wipe yourself off with a damp cloth.
    Could you tell me how to do it then?I can point you in the right direction. The first line of your method generates a number between 1 and 100. Either you intentionally wrote it to work that way, in which case you should very easily be able to re-write it to generate a number between 1 and 37 instead; Or, perhaps you copied it from somewhere else not understanding what it does, in which case you should take the time to understand it before continuing.
    Either way, as you now know that the first line generates a number between 1 and 100, you should be able to make a good guess at how to change it so that the generated number is between 1 and 37. If nothing at all springs to mind here, then I really genuinely do believe you aren't the kind of person that's gonna do well as a programmer.

  • Why does backbean's method be invoked when page navigation to other page

    Hi, All
    Why does backbean's method getBeans() be invoked
    when current page(list.jsp) navigation to other page(edit.jsp)?
    //client list.jsp
    <h:dataTable id="items" value="#{userDelegate.beans}"
    var="user" rowClasses="oddRow, evenRow" headerClass="tableHeader" >
    //server backbean
    public class CustomDelegate extends BaseDelegate{
    public ListDataModel getBeans(){}
    when list.jsp first initialize(first load), jsf invoke getBeans(), is right;
    but when from list.jsp navigation to edit.jsp, jsf invoke getBeans() too!
    what's the matter with it?

    How are you invoking the navigation? With a simple h:outputLink which links to another page or with an h:commandLink/h:commandButton which naturally first invokes the backingbean?
    If you're using h:outputLink, then this behaviour may not occur. You may review/redesign your JSF and bean logic.
    If you're using UICommand link/button, then this is usual behaviour. (re)read the JSF lifecycle for an explanation. If you ONLY want to get the navigation case, then you can 1) replace the methodbinding from action or actionListener by just the navigation case string, or 2) add immediate="true" to the UICommand element.

  • What exactly does am.invokeMethod() do?

    Can any one please explain what exactly does this am.invokeMethod() do
    and I would like to ask about the setForwardURL also.
    regards
    Ram

    Hello,
    setForwardURL() method is used to call another page from current page.
    here is the signature of the method..
    void setForceForwardURL(String url,
    String functionName,
    byte menuContextAction,
    String menuName,
    com.sun.java.util.collections.HashMap parameters,
    boolean retainAM,
    String addBreadCrumb,
    byte messagingLevel);
    Sequence of parameters are very important and you should not change it.
    Menu Context - This paramter determines the display of "Menus" on top of the page.
    Eg. In Iprocuremet you would have seen "shopping", "Requistions", "Receipts" etc
    This menu comes from AOL menus and functions. Hence while navigating from one page to another you have to tell the OAF whether you want to keep the existing menu or reset to new menus or remove the menus etc.
    Bread crumb is a small back navigation link that gets added to the top of the page below the Menus. It allows the user to navigate back to previously visted pages.
    messaging LeveL - Used to determine if the forward should be cancelled if messages or exceptions of level Error, Warning, Confirmation, or Information are found. Note all messages present will be shown regardless of the level.
    Eg: if you have said OAException.WARNING in this parameter, then the page navigation will be for any warnings generated with in the page

  • Why do I have to convert t2i files to pro res in fcp x? What difference does it make ?

    Hey Guys,
    Just wondering why do I have to convert canon t2i files to prores in fcp x? What difference does it make ? I'm able to edit in fcpx the files that have just been imported diectly in. Does it cause any problems in export?
    Thanks so much,
    Jamie

    I am not familiar with Canon files.
    I assume that they are like AVCHD which are really designed only as a delivery format and not for editing.
    Though they can be edited it is concidered better to convert them to ProRes 422 for editing.
    Though nothing terrible will probably happen if you don't convert them, you are likely to get improved results and faster rendering of complex effects with the converted media.
    The best thing is to do 2 very short (sub - 5 minute) identical test projects adding lots of effects etc. with both methods and then you will be able to determine which technique suits you.

  • What's the chain of methods called for painting components?

    Hi, I'm trying to find out at what point components are painted within a container, as in what methods are being called for that component to be rendered to the graphics context.
    I've tried watching for calls going to paint, paintAll and paintComponents, but if a component has been added to a container it seems that even if I override all of those methods of the container the components that have been added still get displayed.
    So I suppose I have two questions:
    * - What is the chain of methods called when a container is told to paint/repaint itself?
    * - What are the purpose of paintAll & paintComponents, I can't find anything that actually uses these calls.
    Thanks in advance,
    L

    Well it seems that the paint method of the component is being called from sun.awt.RepaintArea.paint(...) which itself is being kicked off from handling an event that's been thrown.
    That's clearer now....but has anyone seen when paintAll, paintComponents or the printXXX counterparts have actually been called by a part Sun's code? I can see how they (Sun) would advocate a practice lke this, but it would seem kinda lame for them to suggest it and then for them not to use it themselves.....that's why I think there's probably something in the JRE that does call these methods at sometime....can anyone cast some light on this?

    Lin, thanks for your suggestion. the gdal-georaster integration is a great one for GIS and professional usages and can do what exportTo can not do even though it was just recently available. note though, all existing georaster functions, including exportTo, are internally built inside the database server from ground up. this enables users to fully leverage the power of enterprise database and grid computing.
