  • Why do we need separate t.codes KB11N and KB41N for reposting costs & rev?

    Hi,
Why do we need separate t.codes KB11N and KB41N for reposting costs and revenues? I noticed that i can still use one t.code KB11N to post both costs and revenues, hence why do we need a separate t.code KB41N for revenues?

    Hi,
The BAPI for costs allows more options than the one for revenues. For example, via BAPI_ACC_PRIMARY_COSTS_POST  you can select sender Network, what you cannot do via BAPI_ACC_REVENUES_POST. The same is for 'cost object' as a receiver; you can do it only via BAPI for costs. In other aspects, the BAPI for costs could be used to repost revenues as well.

  • Why do we need to define RFC destination and user for material replication

    Dear Experts,
why do we need to define RFC destination and user for material replication? Here we use crm middleware only for material replication. Could you please help me to understand it?
    regards,
    Ranjan

    Hello,
As far as I know, you can use the same RFC destination already available in ECC to SRM to replicate materials.
You can refer to note 720819.

  • Why do we need a connection to the Source DB for RMAN DUPLICATE ?

    Version Info: 11.2.0.3/RHEL 5.8
We want to clone a Production DB to a test DB.
    Prod DB size: 100gb
We are going to take an RMAN full backup (Hot Backup which includes Archivelogs ) and scp the backup pieces to the Test DB server.
In the Test server , we will be running RMAN DUPLICATE command after connecting like below
rman target sys/passwd@SID_OF_SOURCE_DB auxiliary /We have everything we need in test server to do the cloning ie. all the RMAN Backup pieces. Then why does RMAN connect to the source DB ?

    from [url http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E11882_01/backup.112/e10643/rcmsynta020.htm] here
Backup-based duplication without a target connection
RMAN creates duplicate files from pre-existing RMAN backups and copies. The DUPLICATE command must have been issued with the DATABASE clause. This form requires a connection to an auxiliary instance and a recovery catalog.
This mode is useful when the target database is not available or a connection to it is not desirable (as mandated by security policy restrictions or a firewall).
Backup-based duplication without connection to target and recovery catalog
RMAN creates duplicate files from RMAN backups and copies that were placed in a designated BACKUP LOCATION.http://dbaregistry.blogspot.com/2011/04/rman-duplicate-without-connecting-to.html

  • Installed latest softward for my ipad 2 and now it want's me to connect to iTunes and restore to factory settings!? What do I do? I can't access the iPad2 other than a screen that shows a plug being inserted into the iTunes logo.

So I saw that my software needed to be updated, so I did it over  wifi, then a picture with the plug being inserted into the iTunes logo appears on the screen when finished the install. I plug my iPad 2 into the connector and iTunes sees the iPad 2 connected. Then a window opens that says to restore to use iTunes. I click restore and a second message appears stating something to the effect "Are you sure you want to restore to factory setting all info will be lost."
NO I don't want to loose everything.
My iPad only powers on with the image of a cord pugging into the iTunes logo. I can't get past it and I don't want to restore the iPad 2 to factory settings.
    What do I do?
    Any help would be appreciated.

  • My ipod is asking my to connect to itunes and restore. what do i do?

I was using my iPod and it went blank all of a sudden and re started. But after the apple logo appears it shows a connect to iTunes sign. My only option is to restore. But i have no back up.

Then you will have to restore to factory defaults/new iPod. Something is wrong with the current content on the iPod. You can redownload most iTunes purchases by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store

  • On iTunes Radio, after a human voice comeson to say, "You are listening to iTunes Radio," there is silence and I need to shut down iTunes and restart it to hear music again. Why is this happening?.

When I listen to iTunes radio, that I love, a human voice comes on not infrequently to tell us, "You are listening to iTunes radio." After that no more music. Silence. I need to close down iTUnes and restart it and resume Radio to hear music again. Why is this happening??

Thanks for the reply. What I found to be the problem was my external hard drive. It would go to sleep and would not wake up when I wanted to get into my media files. This has been frustrating, to say the least. I have a Seagate Network 2TB connected. Seems I've had my share of problems with Seagate. I plan to replace this device with something more Mac friendly.

Very many thanks Niel. My problem solved in less than five minutes. I've never had to use that command before. I found the folder and copied it - but I'm still no clearer as to where it was!
    Thanks again

  • What is restoring and why do i 'have' to restore to connect to iTunes and can I really get all my stuff back because I have a homework essay saved on my notepad and all my apps and music. Help I don't know what to do!

Unless this program will get the iPod out of recovery mode

You will have to restore and thus erase the iPod. If you stuff is in a backup y can restore from backup. Otherwise it is lost.

  • Phone says it needs to be restored and to connect to iTunes to restore. Emergency calls only. But nothing happens when i connect it to iTunes. What's going on?

Why can't I restore my iphone 4. it says to connect to itunes to restore and emergency calls only. But it doesn't restore.

    Reboot your computer
Connect the USB end of the cable to a USB port directly on the computer, not a hub
    Disable your firewall and antivirus
    Launch iTunes
Disconnect the phone from the other end of the cable
Hold the HOME and SLEEP buttons until the screen goes black, then release the SLEEP button but contiune holding the HOME button
Connect the cable to the phone while still holding HOME
Wait for iTunes to recognize a phone in "recovery mode", then release HOME and your phone should restore.

  • I recently updated my phone to IOS 8.0.2 and now it wont turn on it just says to connect to itunes and when i do the only option it gives me is to restore iphone. It says it will delete all my media but i didn't do a back up what should i do?

I recently updated my iphone 5 to IOS 8.0.2 and now it wont turn on it just says to connect to itunes and when i do the only option it gives me is to restore iphone because it is in "recovery mode". It says it will delete all my media but i didn't do a back up and i don't want to lose my photos, what should i do? (I never used iCloud to back them up either).

If it's in recovery mode, the data is already gone. Why did you never back up your important data?

    Disabled
Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.

If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.
You can redownload most iTunes purchases by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
If problem what happens or does not happen and when in the instructions? When you successfully get the iPod in recovery mode and connect to computer iTunes should say it found an iPod in recovery mode.

  • What is the oldest generation of iPad that will still allow me to run IOS8 and allow for future IOS updates?

Buying a used iPad... what is the oldest generation of iPad that will still allow me to run IOS8 and allow for future IOS updates?
    Thanks

An iPad 2 will do it...for awhile. Realize that it's seemingly on it's last legs as far as iOS updates go and performance will not be great enough for today's demanding games. Also realize that a big part of running apps smoothly is how much system RAM (the memory area that the apps actually run in) the device has. The iPad 2 has 512 MB which is adequate for most apps but not for some. The iPads above the iPad 2 all have 1 GB of system RAM and the iPad Air 2 has 2 GB.
The time will come when the iPad 2 can no longer be updated past a certain iOS version (as the iPad 1 is) so it will be more difficult to keep up with apps that you want to be using. This will eventually happen to ALL devices so you'll have to judge if you want to be at the tail-end of iOS updates or at least have a bigger buffer with a newer iPad.

  • HT201250 If time machine backups hourly.  Why does it need to backup daily, weekly and monthly

If time machine backups hourly.  Then why does it need to backup daily, seekly, and monthly?

    It doesn't.
What it does is discard intermediate backups at the end of 24 hrs and keep just three spaced backups from the previous day.
At the end of the next day, that day's will be reduced to 3, and the previous 3 trimmed to one; the last backup of that day.
Daily backups are kept for a month, then trimmed to the last backup of the week.
The weekly backups are kept until the disc runs out of space and TM starts deleting the oldest ones.
