What is SMB/CIFS? Why does window ask for File System Authentication

Set up: G5 dual processor tower w 2.5 GB sdram running OS 10.4.11
Connected to MacBookPro 2.4 GHz IntelCore 2 Duo w 4 GB 667 MHz DDR2 SDRAM running OS 10.5.4
via Airport.
MacBookPro does not show up on Network from G5.
But G5 tower is connected from MacBookPro.
An alias appears on Network list from G5 with the identity "Mac001B638898Ba8". When it is clicked on to connect a window appears asking to enter the workgroup or domain and user name (both filled in automatically) and a password.
No password I have ever used works when entered in the password box.
What is going on? There is no Win machine anywhere near here that I have knowledge of.

You did not uninstall the original version and there may be some reference to a DVD based installed stored somewhere. The so-called repair install doesn't work, anyway. uninstall first, then reinstall. You may also need to manually delete the caps.db in C:\Program Files (x86)\common fiels\Adobe\caps. Notee that due to a bug in CS3 you may need to run this twice, that is uninstall, delete the ccaps.db, reinstall, uninstall again without deleting the caps.db, then reinstall a 2nd time or else you may see licensing errors.

Hi,
It seems to me that the installer is looking for AdobePDF.dll.
If so, then when it asks you to insert Vista CD-ROM to find AdobePDF.dll,
go to the AdobePDF.dll_64 in DATA1.CAB folder which is included in the Adobe install files on the disk.
Copy the file to your system and rename it AdobePDF.dll and point the install program to that file.
Revert in case of any issues.

that doesn't make sense. you will only be prompted for earlier adobe versions when installing a latter upgrade version.
double check your versions.

Why does iPhone ask for apple password after rebooting? It just started to do that recently. I've had iPhone5 for several months now and it just started to do that.
Before I could reboot without having to type apple ID password to start using my phone.

Could be part of Apple's new security procedures that were implemented this past week.

Most likely because your credit card is expired.
Either repklace the credit card with a valid card or remove the credit card completely.

Why does ps ask for a serial number when I've joined creative cloud

I just joined creative cloud and downloaded PS. Why is it asking me for a serial number or use it as a trial? Shouldnt it recognize I've paid?

Why does it ask for Ip Address instead of password when I select a wi-fi network?

I have had my iPhone for 5 months. In the last week something has changed. In the past when I chose a Wi-Fi network it would simply ask for a password. Now it defaults to different page that requests IP info. Not sure what to do since most of the Time I don't have access to IP info.

You're tapping the blue button to the right of the network name. Don't, tap anywhere else in the network name. (That's my guess)

Yesterday I became a creative cloud member, set my country to the Netherlands. I downloaded some availabe apps. Now it keeps asking for a serialnumber. I read some topics below it had something to do with language. That I dont understand. How do I know which language I ordered? How do I change it? Or am I doing something else wrong?

The Creative Cloud subscription (in most cases) allows you to download apps in multiple languages. It should default to your system language. If you prefer a different language, you can change it through the preferences in the Application Manager. Open the Application Manager, click on the dropdown in the upper left corner (where you see your Adobe ID) and select preferences.

They're wrong. That's why it's saying that. Check to make sure that the address you have input is the same as the address that your bank has on file for you. Also, make sure you're using an approved payment method for your area. Alternatively, you can simply use an iTunes gift card instead, which bypasses the need to have payment information on file.

Why does COD2 ask for Rosetta in 10.6?

I just did a clean install and updated to 10.6.1 but when i try to run the Call Of Duty 2 update it says i need to install Rosetta.
How come it asks for this when COD2 is a "universal" application?
I never had this under Leopard?

Though the application and patch may be universal, the updater installer isn't; it's PowerPC only so it requires Rosetta. This is not uncommon; I've encountered a number of applications where the installer was PPC only though the application itself is universal. You wouldn't have seen this under Leopard because Rosetta wasn't an optional install, so PPC-only apps and installers just ran without any notification.

Email Window asking for File Association

With sharing by e-mail attachment PSE 8 and using the Adobe E-mail Service after photo selection, selection of recipients and clicking NEXT I get an EMAIL dialog window asking me to "create an associatiion in the Default Programs control panel". Is the file extinsion elm and do I assoicaite it with PS Editor?

Its not clear to me what is the main query here but we need to associate an email client in Organizer prefernces for photomail or normal mail with attachments...

Why does iTunes ask for me to login when I start the Application?

I used to never have to enter my password right off the bat when I opened the iTunes program. Did an update start requiring this or did I mess with the settings. I tried clicking on on my account and resetting the warnings, but that didn't help. I also removed the preferences from my profile, but that didn't seem to help. Any advice??

I have no file named list.plist since I trash the one I told before.

On Mac, if a file is hidden* there is a good reason... so don't try to make them visible except if you know exactly what you do !
* In general, a file which name begins with a dot is invisible in Finder.

CalDAV is a calendaring and scheduling client/server protocol designed to allow users to access calendar data on a server, and to schedule meetings with other users on that server or other servers.
It is not limited to Android. It is used by most calendars that allow sharing. It appears that you are not signed into the calendar that you share on the iPad.
