What is the best carrying sleeve/case for the Macbook Pro 15"

I just bought a Macbook Pro, an upgrade from my iBook G4, and need to get a sleeve. I definitely want something that has hard edges that will fit in my messenger bag, as I ride the bus and my bag sits on the floor of the bus when it is full. What are peoples recommendations? I was looking at the Booq Viper M2, but would welcome suggestions.

Protective Case for my Macbook Pro?

ive been looking for a protective case (shell) for my Macbook Pro 15", but all the ones i keep finding are for the older model (black keys, 2 USB ports on the left instead of 1 like mine has etc..).

Your post is very confusing, since it's the current models that have black keys and all their ports on the left side. The older models have silver keys and ports on both sides. You seem to have gotten this backwards, and you don't tell us clearly which model you have. Choose About This Mac from the Apple menu, click "More Info", and tell us what appears in System Profiler > Hardware as the Model Identifier for your MBP. It will be something like 3,1 or 5,1 — a number in that format. That will tell us what sort of MBP you need a shell for.

It really depends what you use it for.
I'm in my senior years in high school and I just bought my macbook pro (15 in - $1799 w/out tax). I'm willing to spend the extra money as I am planning to use it to continue my education in post secondary school. I think that the MBP is great for work, designing and for professionals. The MBA is great for portability and chicness. The graphics on the MBP is beyond my expectations and it's great. Its great for many things.
It all comes to this. Are you willing to spend the extra money on a MBP. What will you be using your computer for? WIll you be using it for a very long time? Are you going to be careful with it? I heard that the MBA is flimsy and can easily break.
I also recommend you ask a person at the Genius Bar at your local Apple store and they will be glad to assist you. I researched for a solid half of a year before i made a decision and bought my macbook pro.

My personal preference is for the OW, http://www.macsales.com Mercury Elite Pro quad-interface drive...have four of them of the 2 TB size and they are very good performers. I recently was required to buy the MacBook Pro for my art school. However, I'm allergic to metal, all metals. So, I'm wondering, what is the MacBook Pro constructed of? Are the keys also metal? If so, does anyone know of anything, such as skins, that I can buy to cover parts of my computer where my hands will be or to cover the keys?

I wouldn't bother. The case is a tough, metal shell.
Putting any sort of covering over that is just going to attract dirt, dust and possibly interfere with cooling.

Best Boot Camp version for my MacBook Pro?

So, I've got a 17" MacBook Pro from 2007. It's listed as "macbookpro2,1" in System Profiler, if that helps. I've got the Windows 7 Release Candidate installed on a Boot Camp partition running BC version 2.0. I guess I'm a bit confused - what is the "correct" version of the Boot Camp drivers for this machine?
I bought Star Trek Online today, and I just want to make sure I'm getting the best performance this trusty old Mac is capable of!

Windows 7 BootCamp Driver support requires both the Snow Leopard install DVD, which contains the 3.0 version of the Drivers, and the 3.1 driver update which can be download from Apples download site.
The version number of the BootCamp Assistant in OSX is either 3.0 when you use OSX Snow Leopard or 2.0 if you use OSX Leopard.

To my knowledge the Windows 7 Release Candidate is only valid for use till the end of March, so it might be time to buy the full version.
