What is the latest version of XCode I can run?

Hi all,
first off I apologize if this is the wrong section, I am new here. I just got a mac running OSX v10.6.2 and I was wondering what is the latest version of xCode I can run with 10.6.2? I looked on Wikipedia and I was a bit confused. It says versions 3.2,4.0,4.1 and 4.2 Of these, are they all free? I have not paid the $99 but I signed up as a developer. My guess is 4.2 will work but will I have to pay for it? I use xCode at school all the time and need it at home just to work on apps as I cannot be in the school lab all day. Appreciate any help, thanks.

Xcode 4.2 is the latest version that runs on Snow Leopard, but you have to be a member of one of Apple's paid developer programs to download it.
Xcode 3.2.6 is the latest free version that runs on Snow Leopard. You may have to upgrade your OS to 10.6.8 to install Xcode 3.2.6. Xcode 3.2 is also on your Snow Leopard install disc, but you will have to download Xcode if you want to do iOS development.

Adobe currently supports Acrobat X and Acrobat XI for Mac and Windows platforms. So the earliest version would be Acrobat X and the Latest would be Acrobat XI.

I just deleted all versions of JAVA from my desk top computer. What is the latest version of JAVA that I can download to my computer using Windows XP Home Version 2002 SP3.

When I try to use "LIVE" in an education environment for group meetings it says I need to download JAVA.

I have XCode 4.0.2 for Snow Leopard installed. Is that the latest version available for Snow Leopard?
Is Apple pushing us to upgrade to Lion to get a version newer than 4.0.2. I see that XCode 4.2 is available for Lion.

This information might be useful for those who are not members of the $99/year iOS Developer Program. I am not a member, I have Snow Leopard, and I purchased Xcode 4.0 for $5 from the Mac App Store in March 2011. Just for fun I searched the app store for Xcode. As expected, the only search result is Xcode 4.2 with stated minimum requirement 10.7 (Lion). I am curious why it even shows Snow Leopard users the active Free button that implies I can download it. I don't know how the app store works but I assume it would not let me install this on 10.6 Snow Leopard.
But the Purchased view shows Xcode for Snow Leopard. I noticed the button on the right showed Update rather than Installed. Clicking the item name to find details including the version number shows Your request could not be completed. I decided to update in hopes this would be 4.2. I deleted Install Xcode from my Applications folder, restarted the App Store, then pressed the Update button. 1.77GB later I have Install Xcode in my Applications folder, preview shows version 4.2 (used to show 4.0.2),
The installer just finished running, I now have Xcode 4.2 build 4C199. About Xcode.pdf in the Developer folder starts with Developer tools for Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard and iOS 5. So this is clearly not exactly the same as Xcode 4.2 for Lion. It does include the iOS 5 SDK, LLVM 3.0, etc. Not sure what is different in the Lion build.

What is the latest version of Safari I can use on a MacBook Pro?

I am attempting to take an online course and the site states that it does not support old versions of Safari; my version is 5.1.10. I'm not sure what to update to.

The latest version of Safari on Mac OS X 10.6.8 would be 5.1.10. To get a newer version of Safari, you may want to consider updating your operating system. Mac OS X 10.9 is available as a free download from the App Store if your computer meets the System Requirements.

Safari 5.1.10 is the latest version compatible with Snow Leopard. Safari 6 requires 10.7 or 10.8, and Safari 7 is only available in 10.9.

People said who use XCode 3.2.1 in OS X 10.6 in some websites,

CodeWarrior is no long in the market AFAIK. The last (instead of the latest) is Pro 10 (or whatever market naming they had chosen). It was released a couple years ago...
You can't just use any CW to develop the plugin because of the ABI nature in C++, although I don't know if Pro 10 has the same ABI as Pro 9.3.
InDesign CS3 plugin development requires Xcode 2.4.1. The info is documented in the InDesign CS3 SDK. You can download the SDK from the Adobe website.
And yes, Xcode is very different than CW.

The iPhone 3GS supports Bluetooth 2.1 and earlier; all versions of Bluetooth are backwards compatible.

Hi i need to run garageband on a powerpc imac g5 from like 2007 i think(not sure about the year) it has OSX 10.5.8 and a 2.1g processor thing. I am not too good with computer details and whatnot.
