What is the mean of using Portal with Role Based security as entry point

Hi Experts we have requirement of integration of Portal and MDM
I am completely new to the MDM. So please give me some idea , what is the meanin for following points.
1) Using the Portal with Role Based security as entry point for capacity and Routing Maintaince(These two are some modules).
2) Additionally , Portal should have capability to enter in to the MDM for future master data maintence. Feeds of data will need to be come from  SAP 4.6c
Please give me the clarity of what is the meanin of second point
Regards
Vijay

Hi
It requires the entire land scape like EP server and MDM server both should be configured in SLD.
Your requirement is maintaing and updating the MDM data with Enterprise portal. We have some Business Packages to install in Portal inorder to access the functionality of MDM.
Portal gives you a secure role based functionality of MDM through Single sign on (login into the portal access any application) to their end users.
Please go through this link
http://help.sap.com/saphelp_mdmgds55/helpdata/EN/45/c8cd92dc7f4ebbe10000000a11466f/frameset.htm
You need to develope some custom applications which should be integrated into the portal to access MDM Server master data
The estimation involves as per your requirement clearly
Its depends upon the Landscape settings, Requirement complexity,Identify how many number of custom applications need to be developed

  • Reseeding cache for users with role based security

I have role based security and trying to set up cache by purging all cache and later seeding cache by query. The query would be different for different users. What is the best way to purge all cache and reseed cache for administrator as well as all users. The EPT would purge cache based on updated tables. But how do I next go about reseeding cache for better performance to all the users. Thanks.

I have created an ibot with the following:
General - Normal Priority, Personalized (recipient's data visibility)
    Conditional Request - example_report
    Schedule - some schedule
    Recipients - Me(administrator) and User1
Destinations - Oracle BI Server cache
when the ibot runs 2 cache entries are created (for the 2 recipients).
I have the report (example_report) on the dashboard (1 dashboard, 1 page, 1 report).
    After the ibot runs:
When the administrator logs in first, there is a cache hit on the report. Followed by when the User1 logs in there is NO cache hit.
On the other hand when the User1 logs in first, there is a cache hit on the report. Followed by when the administrator logs in there is no cache hit. The query log creates a Query issued to the database instead of cache hit on query.
The User1 has a data level security.
Please let me know where was I making an error in setting the ibot and how to get the cache seeding work for the different users with different role based security.
    Thanks for your inputs.

  • What are the steps for using Bobj with ECC

    Hi,
I have the ECC 6 with EHP4 system, now i want to use BusinessObjects for reporting purpose. I dont have the BI installed, What are the pre-requisit for installaing and using Bobj with web intelegence and crystal report. Dose BI is must for bobj to work? Please explain in steps what are the things i have to do.
    Thanks
    Rajib Imran

It looks like you are new to BOBJ. BI is the service name and BOBJ is the product name in SAP.
Since you have not mentioned your version of BOBJ, I assume you are in the latest version...
To date, there is no direct connectivity available between ECC and BI 4.0 (current release of BOBJ).
You may need to use one of some of the following ways:
    1. Using Plug and play Rapid marts (using Data Services)
    2. Build your own custom marts (using Data Services)
    3. Building SAP BW and using SAP integration kit
Having said, there is a plan for direct connectivity between SAP ECC and BI 4.0 in the upcoming enhancement to BI 4.0.
Please refer the link below for more details:

  • What are the options to use itunes with multiple accounts on one computer

I am totally confused; apple phone support seems to have no clue at least the person I spoke to. I want to get two iTunes accounts on one computer, one exists already. I am not sure what apple allows in this case. I was told at a apple store that if you create another PC profile you should be able to get the second iTunes account on the same computer with the new windows profile. There seems to be no info on the discussions board to this issue.
I do not want to share an account and have a second library I think it would be too confusing for the other person. Is this possible?

You can purchase music using multiple accounts within the same Windows profile & using the same iTunes library. I think when you log into the store it remembers the last account name used, but provided you don't let it remember your password then you have the opportunity to enter the correct details for each purchase.
If you're going to place these purchases on your respective iPod's the following may help.
*How to use multiple iPods with one computer*
The Apple support document How to use multiple iPods with one computer suggests a number of ways. I use method two (Sync with selected playlists) with a slight twist. Rather than regular playlists I set the grouping field to indicate which users should receive which tracks and create smart playlists based on the content of this field.
    e.g.
"Alice's Tracks" is "Grouping contains Alice" + "Kind contains audio"
"Bob's Videos" is "Grouping contains Bob" + "Kind does not contain audio"
Tracks that both Alice & Bob want on their iPods have the grouping set to "Alice/Bob"
    etc.
I currently manage our family's five iPods using this system, each getting a different selection to suit their tastes and the capacity of their iPod. An advantage of using the grouping field is that it is stored in file tags (for non-wav audio files anyway) so that it is relatively easy to recreate the playlists should the iTunes library get trashed. Also useful if you move files about manually as playlist membership is preserved when you delete & re-import the tracks.

  • In CM01 selection screen, what is the meaning of "Operator"

    Hello,
    (1) In CM01 selection screen, there are 3 fields with column heading "Operator". There is no documentation available for those fields. Can someone help me understand what is the meaning and use of those 3 fields. Thanks.
    (2) We are in the process of writing a wrapper program for CM01 - so that we have more detailed selection options and also download to Excel. Any help/suggestion for this is welcomed. Thanks.
    - Chetan

    Hi Chetan
the operator field is just to select your input values and it has these following options
and has no significance on the report
    =     equal to
    <>     not equal to
    >     Greater than
    >=     greater than/equal to
    <     less than
    <=     less than/equal to
    EQ     equal to
    NE     not equal to
    GT     Greater than
    GE     greater than/equal to
    LT     less than
    LE     less than/equal to
    CP     contains pattern
    NP     does not contain pattern
regarding downloading the report to excel file, it is a standard functionality and any ABAP developer should be able to add it to your report and if you plan to add some additional fields to make your report more details, you need to do some enhance ment and build a custom report depending on what you want to add
if helpful please reward your points

  • What's the meaning of the various .bin files used by SAM?

    hey everyone,
I'm trying to understand why exactly there are so many .bin files used by the SAM, and how to compile each one of them.
My .rc file for the simulation contains:
    load bin reset.bin 0xfff0000000
    load bin q.bin 0xfff0010000
    load bin openboot.bin 0xfff0080000
    load bin nvram1 0x1f11000000
    load bin 1c1t-md.bin 0x100000
    load bin 1c1t-hv.bin 0x180000
    load bin disk1.img 0x1f40000000
    I don't understand why I have 3 different files - reset.bin, q.bin and openboot.bin when I would have expected only one bootfile.
I also don't know what's the meaning of the 1c1t-md.bin file (what md stands for).
If anyone could clear this subject for me, and also point me to the sources of each such file (if they exist in the project, and assume they do, at least for most of them), I'd be grateful.
    Thanks,
    Mintz Yuval

    Hi,
    Sorry I haven't replied sooner.
I get your project now and it sounds pretty cool.
Let me answer your last question first. The service processor resides a separate motherboard running independently of the N2 processor. The SP and N2 processor communicate via a I2C link which allows the SP to read and alter the state of the N2. The cpu, caches, NIU, memory, etc. are all connected by this link. Once the N2 is running, the SP and the N2 firmware may exchange messages via a mailbox protocol over the I2C.
nvram1.bin is a configuration file that is OBP specific. On HW, it would be a little ROM that obp reads during the boot. Since it's in memory, SAM doesn't make any assumptions about it. You can remove it or rework it to suit u-boot.
disk.img is the contents of a virtual disk which contains the root filesystem. This is essentially a ram disk which has been added to SAM's version of the hypervisor and/or obp. On HW, the firmware does not support this kind of virtual ram disk. For SAM, I'm pretty sure that obp is extended to create a device tree node for the virtual disk. Hypervisor may not know about the virtual disk.
Since disk.img is a UFS (or other Solaris-oriented) filesystem, you will probably want to replace it with a ext3 or Linux-oriented filesystem. Since Linux has direct kernel support for ramdisk, you might be able to build/configure the kernel with the location of the root filesystem image in memory. Or this might be a u-boot option.
As to 1c1t*.bin and reset.bin. On HW, the service processor is responsible for discovering all the devices and cpus on a system and writing the machine description file (e.g. 1c1t*.bin) and the reset firmware (e.g. reset.bin). These files are used during boot and various resets to initialize or reinitialize machines state for the cpus and all the i/o devices. Since SAM doesn't include a service processor, these files are static and created completely outside of SAM. The md*.bin files contents must match the configuration of cpu's in the sam.rc file -- firmware will fail if it tries to run code on a strand that is missing.
The md and reset.bin files are used during the boot process to set-up CMT registers and do a little bit of i/o device initialization. SAM doesn't support reset modes such as warm reset.
I hope this helps. Let me know if you need me to track down more details.
    Cheers,
    Stephen

  • What are the advantages of using an internal table with workarea

    Hi,
    can anyone tell me
What are the advantages of using an internal table with workarea
over an internal table with header line?
    thnks in adv
    regards
    nagi

    HI,
Internal tables are a standard data type object which exists only during the runtime of the program. They are used to perform table calculations on subsets of database tables and for re-organising the contents of database tables according to users need.
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/fc/eb35de358411d1829f0000e829fbfe/content.htm
<b>Difference between Work Area and Header Line</b>
While adding or retrieving records to / from internal table we have to keep the record temporarily.
The area where this record is kept is called as work area for the internal table. The area must have the same structure as that of internal table. An internal table consists of a body and an optional header line.
Header line is a implicit work area for the internal table. It depends on how the internal table is declared that the itab will have the header line or not.
    e.g.
data: begin of itab occurs 10,
    ab type c,
    cd type i,
end of itab. " this table will have the header line.
data: wa_itab like itab. " explicit work area for itab
data: itab1 like itab occurs 10. " table is without header line.
The header line is a field string with the same structure as a row of the body, but it can only hold a single row.
It is a buffer used to hold each record before it is added or each record as it is retrieved from the internal table. It is the default work area for the internal table
    1) The difference between
whih header line and with out heater line of internal table.
    ex:-
    a) Data : itab like mara occurs 0 with header line.
    b) Data: itab like mara occurs 0.
-While adding or retrieving records to / from internal table we have to keep the record temporarily.
-The area where this record is kept is called as work area for the internal table.
-The area must have the same structure as that of internal table. An internal table consists of a body and an optional header line.
-Header line is a implicit work area for the internal table. It depends on how the internal table is declared that the itab will have the header line or not.
    a) Data : itab like mara occurs 0 with header line.
    table is with header line
    b) Data: itab like mara occurs 0.
    table is without header line
2)work area / field string and internal table
which one is prefarable for good performance any why ?
-The header line is a field string with the same structure as a row of the body, but it can only hold a single row , whereas internal table can have more than one record.
In short u can define a workarea of an internal table which means that area must have the same structure as that of internal table and can have one record only.
    Example code:
data: begin of itab occurs 10,
    ab type c,
    cd type i,
end of itab. " this table will have the header line.
data: wa_itab like itab. " explicit work area for itab
data: itab1 like itab occurs 10. " table is without header line.

I use Time Machine to back up my entire computer with my external hard drive. I am getting a brand new iMac this month and was wondering what is the process of using this back up to restore my new computer exactly how my old computer was? I want to make sure I will still have various important files on my new computer, like my songs in iTunes, my photos in iPhoto, etc, etc. Thanks so much in advance!

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities
When you turn on the new iMac for the first time, Setup Assistant will ask you to restore a backup, so connect the external disk and follow steps to restore all your files to your new iMac. Your new Mac will have the same settings and programs as your old computer.
In other cases, I would recommend to restore the whole backup without using Migration Assistant or Setup Assistant, but a Late 2012 iMac uses a special OS X build, so the OS X version that you're using on your old Mac won't work on the new one. • What is the meaning of ABAP/4 editor integrated with ABAP/4 data dictionary

    hi All
i want the correct meaning of the following sentence <b>"What is the meaning of ABAP/4 editor integrated with ABAP/4 data dictionary"</b>.If any onre knows kindly explain me...
    thanks in advance...

    Hi,
Abap is programming language in business, data dictionary is kind a interface for editor to retrive from database level to presentation area. its a meta data.
The ABAP Dictionary’s integration with the rest of the development environment enables ABAP programs to automatically recognize the names and characteristics of dictionary objects.
Additionally, the system provides easy navigation between development objects and dictionary definitions. For example, as a programmer, you can double-click on the name of a dictionary object in your program code, and the system will take you directly to the definition of that object in the ABAP/4 Dictionary.
    Reward points if helpful,

With all of the applications available, what other applications recommended to use along with Captivate 8.  I do not heed to install all of them, just what I need.

Personally I use both Photoshop and Audition (both in CC) a lot when using Captivate 8. There is roundtripping possible with those two Adobe applications. If you have a CC subscription try it out! And when needing HTML5 output, you can insert published Edge Animate files, to replace former Flash animations. As you can see in CP8, Edge Inspect can be used to test the output on mobile devices without having to publish or to deploy on a webserver.

  • MM - PO - what is the meaning of this button?

    Dear friends,
Could anybody help me with one question.
There is a strange button in a Purchasing Order on the Account Assignment tab page on this screenshot (it is marked with red color).
    Screenshot below
    http://content.foto.mail.ru/mail/raiden87/81/i-84.jpg
What is the meaning of this button? When it is used for?
I hope that anybody knows the meaning =)

    hi raiden,
as for as i have gone through the issue I have come to know that:
If you want to use multiple account assignment for a line item in PO then at that moment you will have to first press the "repeat on " button. only after that multiple account button will be active that is just before your "repeat on " button.
    Steps:
    1:Save your PO.
2:Go to transaction code ME22N to change the PO.
(Here you will firstly see that the multiple a/c assignment button is firsty gray.It will become active only after when you press the "repeat on" button).
I hope It will be helpfull for you.

If you don't use this instruction, the int will probably simply be chopped off at 1 byte.
    The casting does this:
Narrowing Conversions: when an integer type is cast to another integer type of a smaller n number of bits, all but the n lowest-order bits, will be truncated.
Yes, if instructions that yields integer results, such as iload_<n>*, are not proceeded with an i2b* instruction then the bastore* instruction, for example, would truncate the 32bit word into 8bits. But what option is there anyway? Maybe not proceeding an instruction, such as iload_<n>*, with i2b* will cause the bastore* instruction to forcibly compress a 32bit word into an 8bit byte?
Please, if you would look at the output of the programs, that I discussed earlier in this post, you would notice the results are exactly the same, regardless to if the iload_<n>* instruction is proceeded with i2b* or not; it is analogous to the NOP*, No Operation, instruction used by microprocessors; however, conversely, the i2bmnemonic implies it actually performs a function. This is why I was questioning the pragmatic* reasoning behind it's usage. I just want to understand what is happening!
I have posted this question to 3 different developer sites, including java.sun.com/j2se forums, and HAVE YET to get a DEFINITIVE* answer. All I get is the obvious answer but that is my problem, isn't it OBVIOUS* that 32bits must be truncated to 8bits to fit into a byte? I could understand if i2* transformed the 32bit word in some way but as evidence by the programs I posted earlier this is not the case. The values I passed to thoses methods ranged from -255 to 255, inclusive!!! Should I use values ranging from java.lang.Integer.*MIN_VALUE* to java.lang.Integer.*MAX_VALUE*, inclusive, instead?

Please read the posting and look at the output and you will understand my conundrum

  • What is the best way to work with mixed media in 1080 timeline?

    Hi there,
    I have a project shot mostly in 1080 24p but a bit of 720 24p and 4x3 30p footage.
What is the best way to work with this mixed media?
    Thanks!
    Steven

    Hi Shane,
Ok just to recap (thanks for being patient by the way)...I have put some questions in here...feel free to write in caps to respond and we'll put this baby to rest!
    1) I will work in a 1080p FCP sequence, correct?
    2) HD 1080p footage captured as applepro res hq I will leave as is and work with?
    3) HD 720p footage which was captured as applepro res hq. Can I just drop in 1080 timeline and let FCP do its work? Or should i run through compressor, if so what setting shall I submit it too?
    4) I dont have a budget for an external hardware to convert SD to HD...should I capture my SD Beta through Final Cut and just leave and let FCP do its work? Or should I run through compressor? If so what setting shall I submit it too?
    5) For for my master sequence in FCP am I not using an I-Frame format apple pro res if I am using my apple pro res hq 1080 footage as my formatted sequence? I am not sure what you mean by GOP?
    6) I also found some 60p footage 1080p XDCAM compressor shot with the same XDCAM camera. I put in the 1080p 24p timeline but it was pretty choppy...any ideas of this conform?
Thanks very much for all your help it has gone along way,
    Steven
Saying what CODECS you are working with was my question. 1080, 720, 4:3...really says nothing. There are a dozen 1080 codecs, another dozen 720 codecs, and nearly 100 4:3 formats.
Best to capture all the footage to one uniform codec.
Second best is to work with one format and let FCP conform the rest to that...IF and only IF that format is an I-Frame format like ProRes. GOP formats as master sequence formats cause TONS of issues.
What I'd do is work 1080 ProRes, just add the 720p footage (Use Compressor to convert it if you didn't have a lot, but if you had a lot, just add it), but I'd capture all the SD 4:3 footage via a Kona 3 or Matrox MXO2 as 1080 ProRes. Hardware conversion of SD to HD is much better than anything FCP can do. AE might do good as well. But then use Compressor to convert 29.97 footage captured (you can't convert 29.97 to 23.98 when you capture) to get to 23.98.
