What is the most recent Apple OS that will work with Adobe CS4?

I need to update my Apple OS but would like to continue using CS4. What is the most recent Apple OS that will allow me to do this, please?

OSX 10.9.4 should be able to handle this just fine, but you will require manual intervention.

    Hi Steven,
I highly suspect by deduction that since the latest 10.4 Server was 10.4.7, that these would be the latest since they came with 10.4.7 client at least...
    Mac Pro - MA356LL/A - MacPro1,1 - A1186 - 2113
    Mac Pro - BTO/CTO - MacPro1,1 - A1186 - 2113
But if you have 10.4.0 or 10.4.3 Server then likely A Late 2005 G5 would be the latest.

  • What is the latest version of Firefox that will work with Windows ME?

We were recently given an older Gateway laptop that we intend to use solely as an internet terminal. Alas, it is running Windows ME and I don't even know if it has all the specs to upgrade (and certainly not to Vista, which is the only thing we have an install disk for). It currently has Firefox 2.0.0.20, which of course contains numerous security vulnerabilities and is incompatible with most newer plugins. What is the best version of Firefox that will work with Windows ME, and is it still available for download? Thanks!

Hmm... guess this will be just an e-mail terminal, hardly anything else works cuz I can't update Flash! Thanks for your help.

  • Will Safari 5.1.10 work for all versions of 10.6 or just version 10.6.8? If it requires 10.6.8 then what is the latest version of Sarari that will work with 10.6.6?

Will Safari 5.1.10 work with all versions 10.6 or does it require 10.6.8? If it does require 10.6.8 then what is the latest version of Safari that will work with 10.6.6?
    Thanks
    Eric

This Mac currently has Safari 5.0.4. Software Update shows a newer version of iTunes and of course the combo updater to 10.6.8 but nothing else. I imagine the 10.6.8 updater contains a later version of Safari but I don't now which version it is and whether it is backward compatible with older versions of 10.6. There are a number of newer versions of Safari: 5.0.5. 5.0.6, 5.1.1, 5.1.2, . . . 5.1.10 to name a few but would any of them work with 10.6.6? In a similar thread a guy asked a similar question to mine: he had 10.6.6 and wanted to upgrade to a newer version of Safari. He tried installing various versions but was rejected each time. He finally asked if there was any newer version of Safari that would install on 101.6.6 - but he never got an answer.
Software Update displayed a newer iTunes but no mention of Safari. I wonder if this indicates that the 5.0.4 Safari that I have is the latest version there is for 10.6.6. Anybodyknow for sure?
    TIA
    Eric

How much from Apple  is a 5870 card?   Can it be purchased for less somewhere else?   Can it be used in conjunction with the stock 5770 card?
    Thankyou
    Stuart

One or two Apple-firmware 5770 cards can be used simultaneousy in a Mac Pro. It requires ONE Aux power cord for each card.
ONE Apple-Firmware 5870 can be used in a Mac Pro, as it requires TWO Aux power cords, and that is all that are available.

  • What is the highest capacity SD card that will work in current iMacs?

Does the SD card reader included with all current iMacs have a maximum capacity? Or can I use any SD card, no matter how many GB, with it?
The reason I ask this is that I know there's a difference between 'normal' and 'high capacity' SD cards and I wondered which of these is supported with the iMac. There is next to nothing on Apple's own site about this issue.

The Late 2009 iMac's card reader is compatible with SDHC ("High Capacity") cards.
As Dat_T pointed you, the current generation also supports SDXC ("eXtended Capacity") cards:

  • Type of vpn that will work with different manufacturers

    hi,
I will be using cisco ASAs to offer a service.
I need to know what type of VPN I can build that will work with most manufacturers and be easy to manage.
I know site to site that works with everything.
I've used easyvpn and dmvpn but these are cisco vpn solutions.
what would you recommand if you have to offer a service where vpn connectivity is required to different manufacturer hardwares?
    thanks.

As you already mention, it's pure site-to-site IPsec which should be your choice. And differently to the situation years ago, this works normally also in combination with other vendors.

You don't need to care about graphic driver on Mac OSX. It includes in OSX and run the driver your MacBook need.

  • How can i determine what the most recent os my imac will run?

How can i determine what the most recent os my iMac will run?
    Serial Number QP6*****VUW
Processor 2.16 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
    Currently running Version 10.5.8
    <Edited by Host>

You CAN run 10.7, but I don't advise it, buy the 10.6.3 upgrade disk from the Apple Store online and then backup files off the machine and upgrade to 10.6.3., then Software Update to 10.6.8 would be the BEST option for your older hardware and it will run most all of your 10.5 software and be faster than 10.5 or 10.7.
If you go to 10.7 it won't run nearly any of your 10.5 software and you will have to buy all new ones for a machine that's getting a little bit dated, near it's end of life stage. 10.7 will slow your machine down, especially with low RAM.
    http://roaringapps.com/apps:table
At your machines stage, the hard drive is getting old, the vents are clogged up with dust and it's going to cost a bit to get the drive etc upgraded. You can if you wish, but 10.7 really needs more RAM (4GB) and a faster hard drive.
But your still subjected to the video card going out etc.
IMO upgrade to 10.6.8 and stay there until the wheels fall off, then buy a new 10.8 machine being released after this summer or 10.9 machine.

  • What's the most recent Mini I can install Leopard On

I need Classic + Rosetta. What is the most recent Mini I can really put Leopard (OS 5.x)  on? Not that it shipps with, but will actually install and work. Or can copy onto from a clone which will run?
    TIA,
    Bill

    Three options:
    1.  Purchase the Late-2005 Mac Mini (PowerMac10,2).  This was the last PowerPC Mac Mini that can run the Classic Environment in Tiger; so it does not need Rosetta.
    2.  Purchase the Mid-2010 Mac Mini (macmini4,1).  This model comes with Snow Leopard, which is the last version of OS X to allow Rosetta.  Rosetta must be optionally installed. For Word 5.1, see below.
    3.  Purchase the Mid-2011 Mac Mini (Macmini5.1).  This model comes with Lion, but if you follow the work of newfoundglory in this thread, you can downgrade (or dual-partition) this model to Snow Leopard (for Word 5.1, see below):
    https://discussions.apple.com/message/17829389#17829389
For the younger folk reading this thread, the OP is among the few remaining purists that loved Microsoft Word 5.1 on the Mac.  A little bit of history:
Until the Mac was developed and released, Microsoft was almost exclusively an Operating System and Programming software company (Multiplan being the first and sole applications software exception at that time).
Steve Jobs recruited Bill Gates and Microsoft to set up a programming team to build applications for the Mac, then in development.  Out of the effort came Word 1.0 (yes, Word was originally written exclusively for the Mac).
This program was ultimately refined until version 5.1.  Then  with the release of version 6, Mac users were horrifed as the program had been "window-fied" and it was never as pure a Mac program since...
Now back to our originally program, already in progress:
You can run Word 5.1 on an Intel Mac in a Classic emulator program known as SheepShaver (and its cousin, Chubby Bunny).  I use SheepShaver to run Classic Word Perfect, among other Classic apps.
Here is a recent post I made about this Classic emulator:
With the newer Intel Macs, you have to run a Classic emulator such as SheepShaver, which requires you to extract the Mac ROMs from your older Classic Mac and then install Mac OS 9.
A related program is Chubby Bunny, which comes bundled with all of that included.
