What is the power consumption of the 15 inch rMBP?

I have the 15 inch Early 2013 Retina MacBook Pro. Does anyone have the specs for power consumption while the laptop is charging but asleep? I ask because I have an "eco" surge protector that I'm trying to confgure but I think the rMBP uses over 15W when it is charging so I can't use the surge protector "auto shut off slave outlets" feature. Thanks in advance.

  • Checking the power consumption of mac mini

i have a PPC mac mini. Is it possible to monitor/check the power consumption of the mini, as well as peripherals attached to it, say like an external firewire disk. System Profiler doesn't give such information.
should this post have been under the category of "using OS X"? If so, could the moderators move it to the correct category

If you are looking for a software solution, there isn't much of one. A server grade UPS may have some monitoring ability that you could access, but otherwise, you would have to hook up some test equipment to get the actual power consumption. All is not lost, since pretty much all electrical equipment (especially if it is sold in the US) has a label that tells you what the maximum power consumption is. The label usually states the voltage and the current, which multiplied together roughly equals the number of watts - in the case of a PPC mini, about 85 watts.

  • Power consumption of the iMac 2007

    Hello!
I found at this website: http://www.apple.com/environment/reports/ the reports also for older models of the iMac, but not for mine.
Can someone eventual tell me the power consumption of the iMac 2007 24" in standby- ond off-mode? Or is there an older report from Apple available somewhere?
    Best Regards!

It's going to fall somewhere between the idle of 92W and the maximum of 310W.  I would aim at around 210-230W.
I run mine on a APC 1500 pro which provides about 15 minutes at 400W.  I have other devices on it as well.
I would think at a minimum something like below.  This would only provide about 8 Minutes at 300W

  • Powermanager 1.60 has removed the abilty to show the current power consumption in the tray.

    Hi,
well the topic says it. Powermanager 1.60 has removed the abilty to show the current power consumption in the tray.
I realy frustrated right now, why the heck did they remove this nice feature?
And this new energy slider is just trash. If i change back to advanced mode, i cant see my current power consumption. Nor in the main battery tab. The field "Current Power" is just blank. And the option in the tray vanished.
What the **bleep** are these guys doing. There was a time i fought this powermanger is the best software ibm/lenovo ever produced, but since the change of the ui, and removing important features. Its unbeliveable.
Especialy if you are on windows xp, this looks like **bleep**, and this "new" gauge desgin, flickers and stops my mouse on hower over the new "Design".
    a frustrated,

you should try uninstalling & re install it http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/document.do?lndocid=MIGR-70602

  • IPhone 4s looks shut down all the time.especially when the 3g is on.in the forums its said to push the use button and the power button at the same time.the people calling me cannot reach at my phone.what should i do ?

my phone looks like offline all the time.its all about me to notice that its offline.then i have to push the main button and the power button together to open it.then the apple sign comes on the screen and the phone turns online.but i cannot receive the information of who called me at the time that my iphone 4s turned offline by itself.i cannot receive messages at all.what can i do now ? i sent the phone to the service and they just told me that they installed the current version.but i guess nothing happened.its doing the same thing again.i cannot use my iphone.
    From Turkiye.

I've tried all those. But nothing works. The phone seems to be shut down. But it is not. When i get it out of my pocket, for example to call someone, i touch to main button but nothing happens.I solve it by pushing the power button and the main button together just for a couple of seconds, as its said so in the forums.
also, people told me that they were calling me, my phone was ringing but i didnt answer?...i checked it for millions of times, it seems to be shut down, but its normally not.then i push the buttons together and the apple sign comes on the screen.it searches for the network.and it works.
but i do not see any calls, texts anything.but for the others, they say my phone seems to be workin.
I thought it was 'cause of the 3G is switched on but when I turn 3G off, it does the same thing.it seems to be offline all the time.

Since it will not boot then a hardware test can't be run. You could try FireWire Target Disk Mode and if it works then access from another Mac to run tests on the new drive. You could also try installing the OS X software from the host computer. If this does not work then professional help should be considered.

Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.
I understand that your iPod touch will not turn on.  I would start with going through the troubleshooting steps in the article below.

My iPod touch 5th Gen. wont start up past the apple logo, ive tried holding the power button and the home button, and it wont start up. What do I do?!?!

    Try the remaining items of:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.
