  • What is the use of ntfs mac x app ?

what is the use of ntfs mac x app ? i have a seagate backup plus slim and how to use with it ?
    please help ..
    thanks in advance

NTFS is a Microsoft proprietary file system. A Mac can read from an NTFS formatted drive but cannot write to it. The type of app you refer to allows writing to such a drive and could be useful if you had a drive that for some reason must be in the NTFS format. If your drive is formatted as NTFS and you want to use it only on a Mac you could reformat it to MAC OS Extended as detailed in the following link (you can ignore the references to Aperture). http://support.apple.com/kb/ht3509
If you need to read and write to the drive from both a Mac and Windows computer FAT 32 is an option.
It is hard to provide the best advice for your situation without knowing more about how you intend to use the drive. Also, note that formatting will erase any data currently on that drive.

  • What is star schema - pls explain with example

    Hai.
what is star schema - pls explain with example
    thanks in advance
    Giri

    Hi Giri,
SAP's BIW employs extended star schama
The extended star schema consists of a fact table (in two parts, E and F - f is the inbound table, E long-term storage). Dimension tables are connected to the fact tables via the DIMID(dimension id) which is a generated value and is stored in both dimension and fact tables. In addition, the dimension tables are connected to tables which hold master data values (or bind the dimension table to tables that hold the values), such as S tables, P, Q, X, Y. These dimension tables hold SIDs, again generated keys which relate values in the dimension table (the DIMIDs) with master data values. Thus, at the time of the query, join operations ensure that the master data values can be merged with the key figure values stored in the fact tables.
Truthfully, one does not need to understand this schema extensively in order to model in BI in SAP NetWeaver. It helps to understand master data, navigational attributes, etc. Otherwise, simply model the key figures in the fact table and the characteristics into dimensions and you're good - the application generates the star schema for you - you don't have to specify it.
See the transaction "LISTSCHEMA" which will show you the relationship between the F fact table and the other tables of the cube's star schema.

  • What is the use of GSD in Oracle 10g RAC ...?

    Hi Rajesh,
If the GSD is not used in the new versions (only for backward comparability). we can drop this resource from CRS. what is the impact of this if we drop this resource.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
GSD IS USED ONLY IF 9I RAC DATABASE IS PRESENT
The function of GSD (10g and above) is to service requests for 9i RAC management clients and therefore when there are no 9i databases present, there is nothing for GSD to do.
Consequently, there will be no impact on a RAC cluster if GSD is offline and 9i is not used.
If gsd fails to start due to whetever reasons then best thing is to work with Oracle support to analyze and fix the issue. Until that time, gsd can be temporarily disabled.
In 11.2 GSD is disabled by default and the service will show as target:offline, status:offline.

    Hope your question is answered..

  • What is the point of commit for oracle.apps.ego.item.postAttributeChange ?

I'm using the Advanced Product Catalog APC (PIM Data Hub PDH) and have a question regarding the business event oracle.apps.ego.item.postAttributeChange
Does anyone know if this event is raised after the commit of the entire record, or is the actual attribute group row insert/update/delete commited individually?
The reason I ask is because the rule function that will be fired by this event will need to capture additional item information that could be contained in separate rows or tables and need to know if it will be available at the point in time this event is raised.
Thanks for any advice on this topic.

    @W_J_T (and MikeChambers)
“yeah you gotta be good at something rather than no good at anything, that is true. ;-)
I guess that is why I don’t understand this big push by Adobe to make their users become mediocre in many areas. Can you please elaborate on this point Mike Chambers? Why should I be bad at a lot of things rather then good at a few things? I don’t get it.
“As far as apps vs fields, the first thing many people wanna know is if you know the required software for the given task(s).”
On one hand I understand the need to have software skills on the other hand software skills without artistic talent does little good.
“Why that is I don't know, its rather odd and does not allow people the same ability to only focus on their more specialized sectors like in the past with the Creative "Suites".”
I understand the problem Adobe had with suites; all the products had to be released on the same time schedule which meant some were released way before they should have been. CC gets around that problem but Adobe hasn’t done a good job at telling why anyone needs all the apps.
“Did you just wish to have some dialog, or do you have a specific question or suggestion about things? I am kind of confused at this point sorry. ;-)”
It just seemed odd to me when I kept hearing these Adobe evangelists getting excited about the ability to use so many apps. I came here since I was hoping Adobe could explain why having apps in so many fields that you are not talented in is a good deal. So far I am still waiting for Adobe to answer that question.
“your passion seems to be solely the design aspect of things.”
Yes, it is but perhaps most importantly is the issue of time dedicated to learning a new craft. I have a good amount of design work so looking into a career change at this point doesn’t make sense for me. If I changed my career I would have to turn down design work that I currently have  coming in and that would be a little silly.

  • What is the use of Node Manager?

    OBIEE Oracle Business Intelligence 11.1.1.5
I have started up the WebLogic server which delivers the WL Server Admin Console as well as the Fusion Middleware Control.
I have ignored NodeManager. It hasnt been started.
What is the use of NodeManager?
    Oracle tells us:
Note: In order to start the Managed Server using the WebLogic Server Administration Console, the Node Manager must be running.
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E21043_01/bi.1111/e10541/components.htm
But my Manged Server is running ok - I can check http://<host>:7001/console and its ok.
So why do I need to bother with NodeManager?
I only have WLS and OHS installed - no BI instance.

Also tell as I have to use cmd for starting servers how can i use unix commands for the same??
    - You have installed on windows so unix command won't work for you. You can either start by going into services window in windows or start using command by going to path weblogichome\domains\domainname\bin. Execute startWebLogic.cmd

  • What is the use of CTU_PRAMS in bdc programming?

what is the use of CTU_PRAMS in bdc programming?
can any explain wit a sample code.

    Hi,
    Hi,
If u write table control bdc program in 14'' monitor screen, then if the same program u run at different monitor size, then the screen resolution problem comes in to the picture,
like, u get 5 records in table control in one screen, and some other records in other screen, to avoid this screen resolution problem we use CTU-PARAMS Structure.
In ur program u have to set
    defsize type ctu_params-defsize value 'X',
Then u will be free of screen resolution problem.
Fill the str CTU_PARAMS-defsize = 'X' and pass in CTU stmnt as
call transaction 'XXX' options using t_bdcdata ctu_params.
    Analysing :
    1. If nothing works, then we have to
    some ifs & buts.
    2. There shall be normally
    2-4 different kinds of resolution
    on various users comptuers.
    3. Based on this,
    we have to know beforehand,
what will be the number of rows
    in the table control.
    4. The user can be given
    a selection/paraemter
    for resolution
    eg. 800x600
    1024x100
    axb
    etc.
    5. Based on this, we will hardcode
in the program (based upon our knowledge/recording
which we have seen and done)
    we will hardcode
    the number of lines
    in the VARIBLE.
    6. Then we can simply use this variable
for our LOOP and logic purpose.
    7. It will be the responsibiltiy of the
use to CHOOSE THE CORRECT resolution,
    on the selection-screen.
For screen resolution use ctu_params, with default size
    Data : f_option type ctu_params,
    f_option-updmode = 'S'.
    f_option-defsize = 'X'.
    f_option-dismode = 'N'.
call transaction 'VA01' using bdcdata options from f_option messages into bdcerror.
CALL TRANSACTION tcode... OPTIONS FROM opt
    ... OPTIONS FROM opt
    Effect
Allows you to control processing using the values of the componetns of the structure opt, which must have the ABAP Dictionary type CTU_PARAMS. The components have the following meanings:
    DISMODE
Display mode (like the MODE addition)
    UPDMODE
Update mode (like the UPDATE addition)
    CATTMODE
    CATT mode (controls a CATT)
CATT mode can have the following values:
    ' ' No CATT active
    'N' CATT without single-screen control
    'A' CATT with single-screen control
    DEFSIZE
    Use default window size
    RACOMMIT
Do not end transaction at COMMIT WORK
    NOBINPT
No batch input mode (that is, SY-BINPT = SPACE)
    NOBIEND
No batch input mode after the end of BDC data.
The components DEFSIZE , RACOMMIT, NOBINPT, and NOBIEND always take the following values:
    'X' Yes
    ' ' No
If you do not use the OPTIONS FROM addition, the following control parameter settings apply:
    DISMODE
    From addition MODE
    UPDMODE
    From addition UPDATE
    CATTMODE
    No CATT active
    DEFSIZE
Do not use default window size
    RACOMMIT
    Successful end on COMMIT WORK
    NOBINPT
    Batch input mode active ( SY-BINPT = X
    NOBIEND
Batch input mode remains active after the BDC data

  • What is the use of usage in item category determination?

    Hi Gurus,
What is the use of usage in item category determination? pls give examples.
    Thanks,
    Paul

    Hi John,
    Assign Item Categories
In this menu option, you can specify which item categories the system proposes during document processing for each sales document type and item category group. At the same time, you can specify additional item categories with which the system default can be overwritten. There is a maximum of three possible alternative item categories.
If, for example, you enter a material with the item category group NORM in a standard order, the SAP System determines the allowed item category via the assignment of item categories to sales document types and item category groups.
The system default and the allowed alternatives are always determined from the sales document type and one or two further criteria. The system default depends on the following criteria:
    sales document type
    item category group
item category of the higher-level item
    item category usage
    Note
The SAP System automatically copies the item category determined for a sales document item to the delivery.
    Recommendation
Depending on the initial situation you can start the assignment differently:
When you define a new sales document type, you should specify the proposed and the allowed item categories for the materials that are represented by the item category group.
When you define a new item category, you should specify for which sales document types an item category is proposed or which item category is possible for the materials represented by the item category group.
When you define a new item category group, you are to enhance the assignment of item categories to sales document types by this new item category group.
    Actions
To define item category determination, proceed, for example, as follows:
    1. Choose the sales document type to which you want to assign item categories.
    2. Then choose one of the item category groups.
    3. Specify all the allowed item categories for the combination of sales document type and item category group.
If you are dealing with a non-material item, you must specify the corresponding item usage.
If it is a subitem, specify the item category of the higher-level item.
If it is an item category that is to be proposed in the sales document, you must indicate the combination of item category, item category group and sales document type as a default value.
    4. If necessary, specify between one and a maximum of three item categories, with which the system default can be manually overwritten during document processing.
    Thanks & Regards

  • What is the use of SYSAUX Tablespace in Oracle 10G

    Dear Experts,
Please Tell me What is the use of SYSAUX Tablespace in Oracle 10G Because
during Web Load Testing It is going to increase countinuosly.Although i am not using this with any tables.
How Can I find out the what is gong on in this.
Can I Remove this tablesspace and other non using Schemas like FLOWS_020100,MDSYS,OUTLN,DIP and TSMSYS etc.

    What is SYSAUX?
The SYSAUX tablespace provides storage of non-sys-related tables and indexes that traditionally were placed in the SYSTEM tablespace. For example, the tables and indexes that were previously owned by the system user can now be specified for a SYSAUX tablespace. Unfortunately, Oracle still places the SCOTT schema and the other demonstration schemas in the SYSTEM tablespace. Go figure.
The SYSAUX tablespace is specified with the CREATE DATABASE command. This is demonstrated in the example database creation script in Figure 1.1.
    CREATE DATABASE test
    MAXINSTANCES 1
    MAXLOGHISTORY 1
    MAXLOGFILES 5
    MAXLOGMEMBERS 3
    MAXDATAFILES 100

    USER SYS IDENTIFIED BY "password" USER SYSTEM IDENTIFIED BY "password";
    Oracle10g sysaux
With the new SYSAUX tablespace, Oracle comes closer to providing all the needed tablespaces for a truly OFA-compliant database right out of the box. With just one CREATE DATABASE command we can specify the SYSTEM tablespace, the TEMPORARY tablespace, the AUXSYS tablespace, the default UNDO tablespace, and the redo logs.
Of course, with the Oracle Managed Files option you can create an entire database with a single command, but the database created is not suitable for production use and is not OFA-compliant.
The SYSAUX tablespace is required in all new 10g databases. Only the SYSAUX tablespace datafile location is specified. Oracle specifies the remainder of the tablespace properties including:
    online
    permanent
    read write
    extent managment local
    segment space management auto
If a datafile is specified for the SYSTEM tablespace, then one must be specified for the SYSAUX tablespace as well. If one is not specified, then the CREATE DATABASE command will fail. The only exception is for an Oracle Managed File system.
During any update of a database to Oracle Database 10g, a SYSAUX tablespace must be created or the upgrade will fail. The SYSAUX tablespace has the same security profile as the SYSTEM tablespace. However, loss of the SYSAUX tablespace will not result in a database crash, only the functional loss of the schemas it contains.
    Can I drop SysAux?
    DROP DATAFILE

  • What is the use of "Organization"  and "UserGroup" in Oracle Identity Mgr

    Hi
I have created an user and provisioned it with an EBS instance.
Can anyone explain what is the use of "Organization" or "User Group" in Oracle Identity Manager?
What are the basic concepts of having them?
It seems that "Organization" is simply used for categorization of Users in OIM into various orgs and sub-orgs with the aim to create a logical hierarchy of users.
    Anything more?
The use of "UserGroups" i find is only for the application of Access Policies and nothing else.
    Please modify/add to the concepts.
    Thanks
    debashis

You can use Organizations to seperate groups of users and limit which resources are available to the users in that organization. You can also create administrative groups over those organizations.
Groups can contain membership rules to automatically place users into them based on attributes from their profile. You can also create access policies to apply to those groups to provision and restrict provisioning of resources. Groups can also be beneficial if you have department groups and such to be able to quickly view all the users who are part of it. Groups are also used during attestation and can be made process owners of the attestation tasks. And Groups can also be used for assignment of tasks such as approvals and provisioning tasks. Groups are also how permissions are assigned throughout OIM.
I'm sure there are many more uses, but this is a few of them.
