Its very frustrating when a device gets lost. Total Equipment Coverage protects you from paying full retail price for a device. Yes the deductible is 99.00 for a smart phone prior to Asurion sending out a replacement device. Please click this link to see the great benefits of Total Equipment Coverage.
    Thank you

  • Withdrawal from Total equipment coverage plan?

I want to withdrawal from Total equipment coverage plan  and get my money back that I was charged for the last 8 bills!

    Hello wannabeler,
If you do not desire to have insurance protection on your device I can definitely assist you with removing the feature.  I am also willing to research your account to see what options you may have for the requested credit you inquired about.  I can not guarantee a full credit for the last eight months, but I can certainly go over any options.  Please DM me your name and mobile number so I may further assist you.  Thank you.

  • Apple Care vs Verizon's Total Equipment Coverage

Which makes more sense for a 32GB 4S?

Depends on the person. Are you accident prone? Would you want to (or be able to) pay full retail for a replacement phone if you damaged it in some way that wasn't covered under the 1 yr manufacturer's warranty? If your answer is yes to that then you might want to get the TEC coverage. If you aren't worried about damaging or losing your phone and you can afford to or wouldn't mind paying a lot for a replacement then skip it. Apple Care...do you need access to customer service over the phone more often than not? If so, Apple Care is good...otherwise, after the initial 90 days you will have to pay for phone support calls. If you worry about defects occurring after the 1 year warranty then Apple Care gives you that extra year. Just depends on what your needs are. I didn't get either...I was willing to risk the need to buy another phone if something happens. I also prefer to pay what I would for monthly coverage to a savings account set up to cover "luxury item rainy days" (things like my wireless phone that isn't required but I want it versus rainy day savings for home or car repairs for example).

  • With total equipment coverage if the device is lost or broken can you pay more and upgrade to a better device?

This may be a stupid question, I was just wondering. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!

You can read below what it does/does not cover below

  • If my iPhone 4s possibly has water damage (but still works perfectly fine) and I have total equipment coverage, can I still upgrade to the iPhone 6 tonight?

    ?

duffyc129 we'll make sure that everything is crystal clear! Damage does reduce the trade in value, however you can still process the pre-order http://vz.to/1e948q1  . It will be your choice whether you'll like to complete an insurance claim http://bit.ly/07CrqPK  to receive the full value of the 4S.

  • Can you carry Total Equipment Coverage (TEC) on an iphone?

  • Total Equipment Protections - What a Rip!

I've been a loyal Verizon customer since 2010, and to this point, had little problem with this company.  However, I recently upgraded to a Droid Maxx after my Galaxy Nexus died last September.  I've had the phone for three weeks today, and purchased it for its positive reviews on durability.  I was on my way to the car this morning and slipped on a patch of ice.  My phone hit the pavement, and now the screen is cracked.  I purchased the "Total Equipment Protection" on the phone to protect against this kind of thing.  No problem (I thought) - I would call Verizon, and the phone would be replaced for a nominal fee (I'm thinking $50 at the most).  They put me through to Asurion to file a claim, only to find that it would cost me $150 to replace a phone I've had for 3 weeks!  Wow!
So I called Verizon back to hash it out with them, and they refuse to do anything - not even replace it with a refurbished phone at a lesser cost.  This is what I get for my $11/month "total protection".  So now I'm stuck with a cracked screen for two years (I don't have $150 lying around to throw at this).  The only other option I have is to see if another carrier will buy out my contract and give me a comparable phone.  Very disappointing!
Buyer beware - the "Total Protection Program" is not worth it!

Granted, I should have read the fine print, and that was my mistake.  Historically, the deductible for phone replacement has been $50.  I was unaware that Asurion upped the deductible in October.  Guess I need to do a better job of keeping up on those things. Possibly the deductible for basic phones has "historically" been $50, but the deductible for smartphones thru Assurion has "historically" been $150. It did not raise from $50 to $150 in October as people have been complaining on these forums for more than a couple of years about the $150 smartphone deductible.
But let's be honest.  You and I know that Verizon gets these phones for a price far below retail.  Possibly you have better inside information than I do, but I don't know what Verizon pays for their phones. I think the margins on them are not as high as you would think, otherwise other outlets such as Amazon who like to undercut other retailers would be selling full retail phones for much lower.
I did some pricing on EBay, and new or like-new Droid Maxx's are going for between $150-250 (and the higher prices are for 32GB unlocked phones).  Since they buy the phones in bulk from Motorola, I'm willing to bet their per-unit price is below the $150 they're charging for replacement.  Plus, according to Asurion's terms (and again, my fault for not reading the fine print), they have the discretion to replace the broken phone with a reconditioned phone, and even a different model from the unit originally purchased. GalaxyClass said it best - it's just not a good deal. I have never said Assurion insurance was a good deal, quite the contrary, and that is why I do not get it. Regardless, if you purchase the insurance, you pay their deductible and live with their policies.
Now, I realize that Verizon is in business to make a profit, but I think there needs to be some flexibility here.  Sometimes unforeseen stuff happens (after all, it's not like I threw the phone on the ground to test its durability - it was an accident).  Yes, the rules are the rules, but that doesn't mean exceptions can't be made for extenuating circumstances.  I've been a Verizon customer for 5 years and have never broken a phone, let alone a brand new phone.  Don't you think it would be to Verizon's advantage to work with a customer on a reasonable solution, keep the customer happy, and in turn, make THOUSANDS of dollars in the long run by retaining that customer in the long run?  No, then you would have people suddenly "breaking" their phone when they have decided they didn't necessarily like the phone they purchased. People have taken advantage of leniency such as this in the past and is the reason why Verizon is more strict in their upgrade/replacement/return policies than they used to be.
To me, it's a matter of weighing the options and leaning toward the more profitable option.  Then again, what do I know?

I just bought the 20g iCloud storage yesterday but I thought it was to bump the total upto 25g! I wonder what happen to the 5 free for?

The new plans are based on total storage so the 5GB is no longer an addition.  Presumably the price reflects the fact that you get 5GB free.

  • AppleCare vs Verizon Equipment Coverage

I purchased AppleCare when I purchased my iPhone, but I didn't purchase Verizon's Equipment Coverage. Verizon's offering me another chance to signup for it.
My question is, what would Verizon's Equipment Coverage give me that I don't have with AppleCare now? I'm just wondering if it's worth justifying the close to $10/month charge it'd be on my bill.
    Thanks!

AppleCare does not cover lost or stolen equipment, nor does it cover accidental damage (water damage for example or you dropping the phone and shattering the screen). As far as it being worth it...depends on the individual. If the prospect of having to pay full retail if you do something to your phone that isn't covered under  AppleCare  is something that would be a problem for you then yes, it might be worth it to get the VZ coverage and pay the deductible. If you don't tend to have trouble with your devices being lost or stolen...and you are pretty careful with it then paying for insurance may prove to be money down the drain. It's a safety net. Only you know if you really need it to feel secure.

  • Total ink coverage problem

    Hey there!
I have this strange problem I cannot figure out. Any advice would be highly aprecciated. I'm making a magazine in Indesign and when I export the pdf (or print postrcript file and distill the pdf) then the total area coverage of inks of the images are way over limit when I check it in Acrobat.
I have converted all the images from RGB to CMYK using correct profiles. I have several different papers in the magazine, so I used Fogra27 (300 total ink) for coated papers and custom Swop for uncoated paper (260 total ink).
Then I preflight the document in Indesign then it's says all the ICC profiles are emedded in the images.
I even tried to export from Indesign with the overall color profile included. But it's the same problem.
I cannot figure out why the images are still over limit?
    Thanks a lot!
    Risto

Well what profile does the Acrobat file have embedded? Sounds like you are doing a conversion upon creation.

  • What is the best "insurance" option for an iPhone?

Hey all. So I'm almost at the point where I can finally afford getting myself an iPhone and I definitely don't have the funds to be able to replace it if something were to go wrong. So I'm wondering what is the best insurance plan for an iPhone? I'm not the clumsiest person, but I have been known to drop a gadget every once in a great while and I definitely don't want to break an iPhone.
Apple obviously has AppleCare, but that doesn't cover physical damage. I know Best Buy's covers accidental damage, but that's 15 bucks a month...more than I'd like but that's a nice incentive. Are there any other good options that would cover physical damage? I used to work for Best Buy and I've never had any trouble with their BTP plans, I'm just not a huge fan of the idea of paying 15 bucks a month. Any other plans I don't know about?

Safeware http://www.safeware.com/ specializes in laptop, etc coverage, including smartphones. I bought a laptop policy from them around 2002, but since I never had to claim on it, cannot speak as to their customer service or anything. A google on "smartphone insurance" may turn up more specialized companies.
I recently noticed, and it was total news to me, that one of those credit cards I picked up in college for the free t-shirt and have had for 10-15 years, includes insurance coverage for my mobile phone. This particular card is branded AT&T and doubles as a calling card, and I'm guessing that's why. I haven't checked into the details, but people might keep an eye out for something random like that.
I should ask my renter's insurance about the phone.
