What items can I stop running and or uninstall so my Mac runs faster. It tends to max out the memory and then I do a reboot. This is my first Mac and upset that I can't install more memory, wish the sales person had told me that when I bought it.

I see nothing of significance in the report other than you are using Chrome. I would suggest you not use Chrome since it is a resource hog and can become buggy with Mavericks.

Could be many things, we should start with this...
"Try Disk Utility
1. Insert the Mac OS X Install disc, then restart the computer while holding the C key.
2. When your computer finishes starting up from the disc, choose Disk Utility from the Installer menu at top of the screen. (In Mac OS X 10.4 or later, you must select your language first.)
*Important: Do not click Continue in the first screen of the Installer. If you do, you must restart from the disc again to access Disk Utility.*
3. Click the First Aid tab.
4. Select your Mac OS X volume.
5. Click Repair Disk, (not Repair Permissions). Disk Utility checks and repairs the disk."

Then try a Safe Boot, (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, reboot when it completes.
(Safe boot may stay on the gray radian for a long time, let it go, it's trying to repair the Hard Drive.)
If perchance you can't find your install Disc, or are running 10.7+, at least try it from the Safe Boot part onward.
If 10.7.0 or later...
Bootup holding CMD+r, or the Option/alt key to boot from the Restore partitiion & use Disk Utility from there. -
My Macbook pro keep running out of space. I have my iPhoto library's on an external hard drive and I backup my mac to a separate hard drive. But I noticed today that in my "about my mac" it says I am using over 108GB for backups! What is that? How do I fix it? This is my first mac.

LisaIf you have Time Machine enabled, then those are Time Machine snapshots. They will be deleted automatically if the space is needed. You can also do this:

Time Machine Snapshots
Open the Terminal in the Utilities folder and enter or paste the appropriate command line. Press RETURN and enter your admin password when prompted. It will not be echoed. Press RETURN again.
To turn them ON: sudo tmutil enablelocal
To turn them OFF: sudo tmutil disablelocal
Note that turning them OFF will also delete all existing snapshots.

Of course. You can upgrade the RAM always that you do not have a Late 2014 Mac mini (I am not sure that you can install more RAM, and if you can, it will void the warranty), and you can purchase more RAM at OWC or Crucial.

I just purchase an iMac and an HP LaserJet M1217nfw printer. I could not install with the installation disk that was furnished by HP. I have updated Adobe Flash Player and Microsoft Silverlight but each time I try to watch something I get the message that I have to install or update these programs... Why is that happening? Can it be fixed? How do I fix it? PLEASE HELP!

How did you get your songs onto your iPod Touch?
If purchase directly from iTunes you can download them again.
If your iPod is synced to iTunes on a Windows PC, then, sync your iPod to that computer.
If this is your first Mac, are you migrating from a Windows PC?

To quickly find it on the top right press the spotlight button it looks like that image
and type in Mail it should appear in the spotlight list, click it to launch mail or alternatively right click it and press open enclosing folder to find out where it has vanished too -
I purchased the Microsoft Office last September at an Apple Store. I recently had to bring my MacBook Pro back to the store because of some issues. Reboot caused me to lose Office and I no longer have the passcode. Where can I find my duplicate code? I no longer have the receipt so I can not call the business to find my duplicate code. Looking back at my bank statements, this purchase was quite spendy so I hope I will not have to purchase it again if possible! Any advice would be great!

I purchased keynote, numbers, and pages when i bought my macbook air in late september. the december update will not load because it says i do not own the software and returns an error messgae 100. i have read manuals and looked over the web but i cannot figure out how to get this software update to identify that i do own these three pieces of software. they are installed and usable. any ideas would be appreciated before i call apple support.

If that is not it, look in the App Store under Purchases. Are they there?
If not, go into your account in App Store and click the link to show hidden purchases.
If they are still not there, use the support link in the App Store.
If they do show up, copy all the apps to an external drive, then remove them from your Mac. Go to the App Store, Purchases, and install from there. -
I stole my ipod and unfortunately they had disabled the location, someone had told me that he could trace the serial number, is that possible?, and as you do?
- If you previously turned on FIndMyiPod on the iPod in Settings>iCloud and wifi is on and connected, on a computer browser go to iCloud: Find My iPhone, sign in and go to FIndMyiPhone. If the iPod has been restored it will never show up.
- You can also wipe/erase the iPod and have the iPod play a sound via iCloud.
- If not shown, then you will have to use the old fashioned way, like if you lost a wallet or purse.
- Change the passwords for all accounts used on the iPod and report to police
- There is no way to prevent someone from restoring the iPod (it erases it) using it unless you had iOS 7 on the device. With iOS 7, one has to enter the Apple ID and password to restore the device.

II am turned off completely with GarageBand..I did delete it and re installed but now it's claiming not enough memory, which I guess is a push for me to install more memory. The 2 places I’ve seen recommended most to buy reliable RAM are below. I have purchased RAM several times from Other World Computing and have always been very satisfied with the product and service. They have on-line instructions on how to replace the RAM. OWC has also tested RAM above what Apple states is the maximum. I now have 6GB installed on a machine supposedly limited to 4 GB.

If you do revert, I'd use Setup Assistant to restore your data. This process takes a while, so do it when you won't need the computer for several hours, based on my experience.
