What on Earth is the matter with titles and duplicating?

I'm just about fed up with this amateurish product passing itself off as a professional tool.
I can't fathom how this thing has gotten past version 8 with such blatant bugs-
Make a title. Duplicate it. Change the copy. Original changes in final render. But it doesn't in the timeline. In the timeline, it shows up correctly.
Then go to edit the copy. The original title appears behind it. Sometimes. Not always.
There is no logic to this. Timeline shows one thing, render shows another... why on Earth should copies even influence one another?
After wrapping this ~30 min video- the first long form I've ever tried with Premiere -I'm canceling my CC subscription. This is an absolute piece of garbage and it's been one illogical (or flat our broken) feature after another.
What a nice and eye-opening welcome it's been to Adobe's engineering chops outside of Photoshop.

Duplicate - produces problem above.

New title based on current title - produces problem above.
I've now tried every single method outlined here:

short of templating the thing, which is next.
How you guys continue to work with this thing is beyond me.

What on earth is the deal with my MBP?

My MacBook Pro has been showing weird and kind of major problems ever since I exchanged the internal Hitachi hard drive for an OWC Mercury Extreme Pro 6G. Sometimes, not too often, when I boot it doesn't detect the SSD. I get either a screen like this or, if I option-boot (because I have two OS X installs on it), a screen like this. Once I booted from an external drive when this was happening and I checked Disk Utility which didn't list the SSD in the sidebar at all. Just rebooting once or twice has fixed this problem for me so far. But I find it very strange that it happens from time to time, and seemingly very randomly. I am sure I attached the SATA connector to the SSD correctly when I installed the SSD, and it's only ever at boot time that it doesn't get detected sometimes, so it can't be like a loose contact. In addition, the last time the problem fixed itself I didn't physically move the machine in any way between rebooting, and I often carry this MacBook Pro around without any problems while it's running.
Except... a new problem arose today and my gut feeling is that it was caused by whatever is causing the SSD to not be detected at boot sometimes. I booted from my Lion partition and left the computer for a minute. When I came back I heard the fans spinning a lot faster than they should have been – but there was literally nothing running, just a clean desktop with a default wallpaper! What's more is when I checked the temperature of the enclosure with my hands it felt way too cool for the fans to be this loud. The cursor was beachballin' endlessly and the screen was completely frozen (not even the clock worked).
The last thing that I've noticed is that sometimes it takes a really long time to shut down (like >15 seconds), and it's not because of any updates. This being an SSD I expect it should be able to shut down very quickly and do so consistently, especially given that this is a fresh OS X install with barely any of the capacity being used.
There is one thing I have to mention which may be the cause of these problems, although I find it unlikely. One of the partitions on the SSD has OS X Snow Leopard 10.6.8 installed which I regularly use, but this model of MacBook Pro (Late 2011) does not officially support running Snow Leopard on it. I haven't noticed any issues with it so far aside from a minor graphics problem (Amnesia: The Dark Descent wont run in fullscreen) that isn't confirmed. It shouldn't be a surprise because the hardware is nearly identical to the Early 2011 models which originally shipped with Snow Leopard.
Any insights or advice is appreciated.

I think the issue is your partition.
Why don't you, if you have time to kill, is to make your first partition Lion and your second partition Snow Leopard.
Make Lion your primary since that's what came with your Macbook originally.
While it's true that Snow Leopard was the default OS on the early 2011, Lion however was the default for the late 2011 which was optimized for you Macbook.
Again, that's only a theory/suggestion. I could be wrong.

OMG! ..what on Earth is going on with Version?

OMG!!! ...I've never experienced anything like this in my 49 yrs dealing with customer service.
I will try and make this as quick and least painful to read.
First, I'm a recently returning customer after leaving Verizon for over ten years.
My wife works from home so I needed the caller ID to reflect her name not mine so she called to have it changed. What Verizon did was cut my services for a full day to transfer the account to her name. Why they had to go this route to simply change the caller ID name is beyond me. Anyway, we got our services back and were happy to put that frustration behind us.
Little did I know this was just the start of the worst business dealing with a service provider in my life. Apparently there was a small balance of $51.43 left in the old account. I paid that balance in full. However, that balance was transferred to my new account despite it being paid.
Guess what? ...they cut my services because of that same $51.43. Okay, at this point I'm a little angry but sure that once I point out the billing error this problem would go away. After spending 45 minutes on the phone with billing they told me they transffered the paid balance from the old account to the new account and all should be good.
Guess what? ...they cut my services again because of the same $51.43. (right in the middle of watching a Verizon rented movie) At this point, I'm beyond a little frustrated . I had to pay the same $51.43 to get my services restored until I could call during business hours. After another 45 minutes on the phone with billing, they refunded my $51.43 and assured me this issue would go away.
Guess what? ...they add the same $51.43 back on to my bill and start sending me past due notices.
At this point, I'm ready to through in the towel and switch services. I contacted billing again and asked to speak to a supervisor. After being on hold for 20 minutes, I spoke to a supervisor named Ashley. She was very nasty and did not care two cents about my issues and said I needed to speak to the accounting department. She put me back on hold and when I got to the accounting department she said I had to resolve the issue with the billing department. Are you kidding me???
When I refused to be transferred back to billing she said that she would have her supervisor contact me. I'm not holding my breath that they will call me back.
What am I to do? Will this issue ever go away? How can a service provider be so horrible to deal with, and why can't they fix such a simple error?
I have recorded every single phone conversation with customer service. If they don't get back with me and resolve this issue once and for all I will be switching services.
Again ...OMG!!! ...what on Earth is going on with Verison and their customer service?

I have been interested in computers for a long time. My husband and I had one of the first TRS-80 computers from Radio Shack, and we would have likely followed the Windows path, except a blessed event intervened and our interest in computers was sidetracked by raising
a toddler.
I had my first experience with a Mac (a Performa 630 CD) in December of 1994. Our 7-year-old son was using Macs at school, and was as interested in computers as we were. We had been out of the game for a long while by this time, so thought it was wise to buy a computer one of the three of us (7-year-old Zach) could use.
I thought, "Well, by next year, I'll learn enough to do the income taxes on it." In January, I saw Zach playing around with Quicken, and I saw how easy it would be to do our taxes with it. I had them done faster than I'd ever managed it before.
I guess that's my big first impression.
I told Zach he'd be sorry about wanting a Mac because I knew the gaming thing was on the horizon. Sure enough, when he hit his teens, all his friends were gaming on Windows boxes, and he now uses XP. He is in his second year of college, a Computer Science major, and he and his dorm-mates have Vista available as a free download on the college server. Not one of them has installed it. I don't see how Microsoft thinks they can sell it if they can't give it away.
I tried Windows 98 and Windows XP, and my reaction was "Why on earth am I banging my head against THIS wall, when my Mac does everything I want to do?" And back I went to my Mac.
With Intel processors and Parallels and Boot Camp, Zachary may come back to the fold. His next computer may be a Mac.

What on earth is going on with MP4 / quicktime?
To convert an avi. file to mp4 is taking as long as it takes to watch the entire movie!
I am converting a movie from avi. over to mp4 using the ($44) upgrade facility on quicktime and it is taking the length of the entire movie to convert it over?
Any ideas?

Your install disk must look like this
and not like this.
Those gray disks are machine specific and will only work with model of Mac that they shipped with.

What is the matter with the framerate on Tiger?

I have dual 2.7 and plenty of Ram and this thing and have 10.4.2 installed. iChat AV is supposed to give me 30 fps at least in video preview. I don't mind the videochats, it is due to bandwidth limits, but in video preview, there is no bandwidth, still I don't get 30 fps video. The picture is definitely around 15 fps, it's not smooth like 30 fps. When I try to record video in iMovie, it's the same. Never 30 fps. Is this about Tiger? I never used iSight with Panther. Or is it about quicktime 7? What's the matter with this?

Here are a couple of ideas, iBug.
iSight will not deliver the full 30 fps frame rate without adequate light. See the Improving Your iSight Picture FAQ for more on this.
QuickTime, a good 10.4.2 Combo Update, and several other common issues can contribute to problems. If you have not already seen this, try Help for iChat AV 3 Problems for trouble shooting suggestions and some things you can try.

No. If you don't have the album you originally used to create the galleries you can do so by dragging the photos from each gallery to a new, empty album. Then when you find the photo sharing site/option you have decided on you can easily upload each album to the site.
Another option is to obtain a hosting service and create iWeb photo pages for each album and future albums similar to this photo page in one of my demo sites: iPhoto Book as an iWeb Slideshow. Or you can use the iWeb album page and have an album for each iPhoto album on it like on this demo page: Page-7 .

FCP7 HELP - Exported quicktime mov plays differently than what I edited on the timeline. The playback shows the clips with ins and outs that are different than what I set in the clips when I edited - some are too early and the clips don't playback

Processor 2.4GHz Intel Core i5
Memory 4GB 1333 MHz DDR3 -- Everything is edited, sourced, and stored on an 2TB external hard drive to make things go faster.

When I export the sequence I edited with quicktime, the playback video is very different from what I edited on the timeline. The playback has the clips with ins and outs that are way off than what I cut, and some of the clips don't show at all or have changed transitions. However when I play in the timeline in FCP, the sequence is fine, just the way I cut it.
The source of the clips was one long .mov that I cut into clips for the timeline. Everything has gone smoothly but the exported .mov is just so different.
How can I get the time codes of the clips to be the same in the exported .movs? I just want the quicktime .mov to represent my edit exactly.
This video is due tomorrow - if the solution is too time consuming, can I play within the FCP player window and Log and Capture?

What is your source material? Is it H.264? FCP does not work correctly with that material.
Click on a source clip in the FCP Browser, and once selected, type Command + 9 to see the item properties for the clip. Either report those properties, or take a screen shot of the item properties, and post that here.
Next, click anywhere in your timeline, and then type Command + 0 {zero} to see your Sequence Settings. Either report those Sequence Settings, or take a screen shot of the Sequence Settings and post that here.

When you are watching a live TV show or VOD, pretty much the same thing as the OK button, it displays the program banner at the bottom of the screen.
When you are watching a recorded program on the DVR however, it will suspend whatever you are watching and switch to the live TV channel that you were last watching.(works on the DVR itself, I have no idea what it does in the multi-room environment as I do not have that service)
It does not do any of the other things that hitting the OK button does as far as I know (like navigating the Menu, etc).
That is all I know about the FiOS TV button
