What Ram do I need for my iMac?

Hello
I have an iMac 21.5-inch, Mid 2011, and I want to add more ram, and I think I have found the right type here:http://www.amazon.co.uk/Crucial-200-pin-SODIMM-PC2-5300-memory/dp/B000F7QRTG/ref =sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1420986001&sr=8-1&keywords=iMac+Ram+2gb.
Is this the right kind of ram, compatible with my iMac? I only really need 2GB and don't really want to spend more money as it is quite expensive.
Another part of my question is the installation. Is it at all risky installing Ram? Is there a service Apple provide to install it? And where is the best place to find out how to install it?
Thank you.

The important thing to do is make sure you get ram from a reliable, Mac-friendly source as Macs are very sensitive to their ram.  Two good sources are Crucial and OWC, http://www.macsales.com both will tell you just what ram you machine will take and guarantee compatibility and give a lifetime warranty.  And they have on-line videos on how to install.

  • What RAM do I need for my macbook?

I have been told that it may only support up to a max of 2gig, but have also read that a lot of people have put in 4gig and its work fine.
And is it just any DDR2 SDRAM that I can buy? (im not too clued up on ram types)
So this is what I have....
    Model Name: MacBook
    Model Identifier: MacBook2,1
Processor Name: Intel Core 2 Duo
    Processor Speed: 2 GHz
    Number Of Processors: 1
    Total Number Of Cores: 2
L2 Cache (per processor): 4 MB
    Memory: 1 GB
    Bus Speed: 667 MHz
    Boot ROM Version: MB21.00A5.B07

    Speed: 667 MHz
    Status: OK
    BANK 1/DIMM0:
    Size: 512 MB
    Type: DDR2 SDRAM
    Speed: 667 MHz
    Status: OK
    Thanks

You need PC5300 DDR2 667MHz So-Dimm modules for your MacBook. If you want to maximize your RAM, you can put in a 4GB Kit (2 x 2GB) and you will be utilizing approximately 3.3 GB of the RAM. Needless to say, even if you get a 2GB Kit (2 x 1GB) you'll be doubling the amount that you have now which will be a substantial increase. • What ram do I need for my mid 2012 '13 MacBook Air

    Is it user replaceable?

It's not replaceable or upgradable by either customers or Apple. The only opportunity to increase its RAM is when configuring a model in the online Apple Store prior to buying it.

  • How much RAM should I install for new iMAC ?

    Hi,
How much RAM should I install for new iMAC* running Logic Studio? It comes with 4 GB - is that enough? (can you run in 64 bit mode..)
    *(The 21.5" 3.06GHz Intel Core 2 Duo)
Also, I was planning to get the stock 1 TB Hard Drive & save projects to an external drive.
    Does that sound reasonable?
    Any other recommendations?
    Thanks,
    Wm Heart

Unless you plan on running huge projects with enormous sampled instruments, 4 GB will do (very) fine. And your disk plan is sound. Choose an external Firewire drive, rather than USB. FW is easier on the CPU and can handle more tracks than USB.
What you should get, instead of more memory, is a (24 bit) external audio interface, if you want to do serious recording and playback.
What type of audio interface you'ld need, depends on what you want to do with it and of course your budget. From decent to brilliant costs from roughly 100 to several 1,000's of europounddollars. Avoid the 16 bit ones, they're worse than the inbuilt audio chip of your iMac. You can recognize 16 bit Audio Interfaces (in webshops) by their prize (often under 100€£$) and the lack of mention of their bitrate.

  • What technical components are needed for integration of SAP BI and BO?

    Hello,
What technical components are needed for integration of SAP BI and BO?

    Hi,
you need to setup a BOBJ server (eg. BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 3.1 or BO Edge 3.1) and then install the BusinessObjects integration Kit for SAP on the same machine your BOBJ server runs.
In order to build reports you can either use Crystal Reports (eg Install Crystal Report Designer 2008 V1 if you have an XI 3.1 server installed), WebIntelligence (Install the Business Objects XI 3.1 Client Tools in order to be able to build universes), BusinessObjects Voyager or XCelsius. Please note that you have to always install the BOBJ integration Kit for SAP (should be the same version as your server and client installation) on your clients AFTER you installed one or more of the above client tools.
Please take again a look at the following link for more detailed information (from Ingo) on this:

  • What drivers do I need for a dell V515w AIO printer on my MacBook Pro OX S 10.7.2

What drivers do I need for a Dell V515w all in one printer for my MacBook Pro OS X 10.7.2 ????

Uh, tough call, you'll have to check what is used with a PC, drivers or driver+software.
If driver+software then that's a problem as they likely won't write one for OS X.
If drivers you can install these open source one and hopefully it might work,  Dell and Apple don't get along so you likely won't see Dell drivers installed by Apple in OS X like they do for others.

What cable do I need for a full migration from a 2011 MacBook Pro to a new current one-wireless migration way too slow.?

All you need is an Ethernet cable.
Just plug it into both machines. Don't bother with a crossover cable, just a plain old Ethernet cable will do. The Ethernet ports on the Macs are smart and will adjust appropriately.

  • What ram do i get for my MacBook 3,1?

what ram do i get for my MacBook 3,1?

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities
You have a Late 2007 MacBook, that uses 667 MHz DDR2 RAM. Officially, it supports 4 GB of memory, but you can install 6 GB of memory. See > http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1651#link3
If you want more memory, you can buy the memory in OWC or Crucial (Crucial is cheaper and offers the same compatibility warranty as OWC) > http://eshop.macsales.com/shop/memory/MacBook/DDR2/
