What should my first step to OC be.....

I  thought I would try to OC a little......I have tryed the D.O.T with MAT in normal mode.
I tried up to "Captain" but I never got any better scores on 3Dmark03 or 2001.
When turning Mat of and turning DOT on to captain my score in 3Dmark2001 dropped from 18100 to 16200.
Am going to leave MAT= Turbo and OC just a little........
QUESTION:
Plz give me some advice how to give my computer a little more power....
Should I go into bios and change the FSB from 200 to lets say...207 ?
My corecenter now with MAT in turbo reads 203x15=3042
I need an easy solution......what should I try.
Plz have in mind that I never use to mess with bios or OC in any way...so keep it simple..plz
Regards
Lithesteel

I really wouldn't try to OC any in your position with your CPU temps being what they are.
Im surprised that they are that high. How many fans are in the sonata? I see that you have one installed. You should get an intake fan, that would help tremendously.
ANYWAY, here is some advice.
When overclocking, go up only 5 MGz at a time. At each interval, make sure the computer boots up correctly and windows runs fine. It would be a good idea to run some sandra CPU benchmarks and a 3dmark 03 run or two.
Increase FSB 5 MGz again and repeat process.
You HAVE to monitor your temperatures though, make sure you don't break 60C. I don't even like to break 55C.
What surprises me is that I have the same HSF but I have 4x80mm case fans and I run MAX 39C even o/c'd to 3.3
Eventually you will get to a point where your system will start crashing, becoming unstable. At this point you can either clock it back down to the last 5 MGz and keep it at that, or you can increase the voltage, but since your temperatures are so high already, I do not reccomend you to increase voltage at all.

  • I just purchased creative cloud. What is the first step I should be taking?

I just purchased creative cloud. What is the first step I should be taking?
I'm unable to download the applications and I'm not sure why. I thought it had something to do with me having the trial prior so I went ahead and deleted it. And I still cannot download the applications. Am I missing a specific step in all of this? I was under the assumption that when I purchased creative cloud, it would be some sort of prompt to install the program (the way adobe normally works) then I would be able to install the applications separately.

    Hi Poe7,
Welcome to the Community & thanks for being the Creative cloud member!
The first thing is to download Creative cloud desktop app which will help you to download all the apps available, go to https://creative.adobe.com/products/creative-cloud and download it.
Once downloaded, launch it and select any product to start downloading/installing within the app.
    Thanks!

  • New Macbook: What's the first step?

Hey everyone. First of all I would like to say that I have read a lot of the posts and really been able to gain a lot of knowledge about all kinds of stuff, so thanks.
My question is pretty simple for those who have opened their macbooks, hah. I am getting a new macbook really soon and i was wondering what the first thing i should do is. Do i turn it on, use it till about 40 percent then charge it up, or start fully charging it right away and calibrating it. I've read a lot of the info on battery care and all those links posted of that sort, but i was just curious as to what i should do first.
Thanks a lot for your time!
    I appreciate the help

Below are some good links for you. Discharging your battery to 40% will do nothing for your battery. That is a long term storage number that is bandied about on the forum and in my opinion used incorrectly by some people. Follow the instruction in the calibration link I gave you. Be sure to not miss letting the battery chemistry resettle after charging and discharging. I am referring to step 2 and 5 in the procedure. Those are steps some people miss and the reading on the monitor is not accurate.
These are good things to know about the MacBook and it's battery.
MacBook reduces processor speed when battery is removed while operating from an A/C adaptor
Apple portable computer's battery does not show a full charge in Mac OS X
You should calibrate your battery at least every month or two. I do mine every other month and have had no problems.
Look here and here for some good tips about battery care.

  • How can I use the NI PXI-6508 with Lab View 7? what are the first steps to get started??How can I use the channels with lab view 7????

I have a 8 slot PXI system with 2 NI PXI 6508 and 1 DMM 4070 in it. I want to get started with programming the digital I/O cards (6508)! How can I use this cards with LabView 7?what is the best way to get started, or where can I get examples showing how to use the several channels?
    Thanks!
    Philipp

    Philipp,
The best way to get started is to decide if you want to use traditional NI-DAQ or NI-DAQmx. Recently we released NI-DAQ 7.1 which provides NI-DAQmx support for the PXI-6508. In my opinion, NI-DAQmx is more efficient and much easier to use.
To get started with examples, simply launch LabVIEW and go to Help>>Find Examples. Then expand Hardware Input and Output>>DAQmx and select the appropriate digital group for your application. This should help get you started.
Please repost if you need addition assistance. Good luck with your application!

  • What's the first step to get marketing automation going?

Looking to learn how other folks have gotten the entire process going.  From restructuring your web presence to SEO, CONTENT, KEYWORDS, etc...to get lead generation going?  Seems like a lot to tackle and I'd love to hear how others are doing it? Is it scale-able ?  Where do you start?  and how much will it cost? Thanks!

Having just finished my first year in Eloqua, I've learned a few lessons, and thought I'd share.
    1. Share your hunger. For me, learning about Eloqua was an incredible experience - it tied together the marketing fundamentals I learned in school with the analytics practices I learned on the job. I thought I'd finally found marketing nirvana. My first real task was to help other people see the potential as well. This goes beyond cheerleading - it's getting people to commit some of their time and resources to supporting the effort. Figure out how you can create alignment between your stakeholders and marketing automation.
2(a). Focus on implementation. This took us way too long. When we were implementing, we had a beautifully redesigned 6-month old web site and it was mentally painful to think about ripping apart our meticulously designed on-site lead capture forms. We spun our wheels looking for a plugin that would work with our CMS, to no avail. When we finally decided to bite the bullet, it took about a week to embed the forms. No, they're not as pretty (only for lack of front-end dev resources on our side), but they work.
Having functional lead capture on our site pages has unlocked a good deal of the potential I saw in the beginning. Suddenly, the sales team is loving seeing data flow into the SDFC contact record and they're consistently helping me out with new ideas / assets.
2(b). Get training. Eloqua University is an amazing resource. If you have access, take as many classes as you can. They will help you understand the underlying strategy and the mechanics of putting everything together.
    3. Start small and increment. Once you have your hands on the tools and everything is working, you're going to get excited about everything you can do. Focus on starting with small, simple things. Don't build huge, complex campaigns at first. Get good at the fundamentals - getting assets together quickly, being consistent with messaging and information collection, thinking through your customer's experience, both in the micro-transaction, in the campaign, and finally in their buying cycle.
    4. Keep an eye on the future. Always have a plan for what you want to do in 1, 6, or 12 months. Right now, I'm looking at next investments - SEO, content writing, creative/design, targeting/retargeting and data augmentation - all of which require more budget and resources to leverage. With that in mind, I routinely validate my assumed needs (more tools) with the results I'm getting with what I have now. Do the results support the wish list, or do they call out an unexplored need?

Which SDK is a good start to begin programming with java. What are my options?

Edited by: whahahah on Jan 19, 2010 12:10 AMIf that is the case, you have to ask yourself what target platforms you want to develop for, myjavacode. Desktops and laptops? Stick with JavaSE. Mobile devices such as smartphones? JavaME. JavaEE offers features like business continuity desired by companies and other organizations such as Delta Airlines or the DoD... Usually found on servers. I am assuming you'll just want JavaSE since that makes up the bulk of the market. Follow the URI and select your operating system in the left drop down (also assuming Win32 (Windows)) [http://java.sun.com/javase/downloads/widget/jdk6.jsp]
    I hope this helps.

  • My Story, what should be my next steps?

I have been working for a pharmaceutical company for nearly 2 years in a transport/inventory control role. My company was in the middle of an integration project (take over from a larger company) when I arrived, immediately I was thrown into the world of SAP, I sat under an SAP consultant and he taught me how to navigate and understand SAP from managing inventory to raising requisitions. After go-live we were very much 'abandoned' by the integration team, they had another integration to do immediately after us at another production plant. There were 2 people trained to use SAP on our site, one of which was myself, unfortunately, a few months later the other trained person left the company. This left me on my own to figure out problems and troubleshoot on my own. This was difficult but very rewarding. I then had to learn a lot of things by myself as support teams took days to get back to me, the problem solving aspect was very fun, even when it was frustrating. After a year or so, the company realized we didn't have enough SAP support and more people got training, but for the past year I have been the 'go to' guy for any SAP problems. I am now part of a team that is re-integrating cGMP compliant SAP on site (risk assessments + testing), unfortunately I am still in the transport/inventory role. The consultants I have met have also noted I am certainly way beyond the average SAP user on site and I look promising.
What should my next steps be?
I am desperate to get a career in SAP, I really love the system, I find I learn things very quickly and have found a passion and excitement while doing it. Is certification the right direction?

    Hi,
You are already work on SAP. If I am in your position, I would grab the opportunity. You have every opportunity to learn on a live environment. If you work hard and I am sure you would be more confident in the next coming years. It would be a real opportunity for you to learn many thing. I know it is difficult time being a lone person, but, you have ample opportunity.
If you are confident, going for certification is NOT a bad a idea. You can pass the certification and prove the commitment that you have for continuous learning. Your employer would surely recognize your efforts. But, in my opinion, you should work at the same place for next an year or so. Then, you can think of continuing or moving to other employer.
    Hope this helps.
    Kind Regards,
    Ravi

  • Very first step in configuring RMAN for a Backup

    DB version:10gR2
I am a DBA supporting applications development and i am not familiar with RMAN. This weekend we are going to Patch 10.2.0.1.0 to 10.2.0.3.0. Before that i am going to take a backup of the entire Database containing around 57 schemas(total of around 600gb).
We don't have Tape drives. I am going to backup this up on three filesystems in the same machine. This instance is not running on ASM. What is the first step i should be doing in configuring RMAN for a backup?
    Edited by: user10583227 on Jan 27, 2009 4:50 AM

Be careful, three filesystems doesn't necessarily mean the use of three channels. Could be more...could be less.
Are you in a position to shutdown the database? If not, you'll also want to backup the archivelogs with BACKUP DATABASE PLUS ARCHIVELOG. You may also consider creating a Guaranteed Restore Point which would allow you to rollback your database in minutes if the upgrade fails.

  • First Steps On Oracle

I'm new to databases. I finished installing Oracle9i and I have passwords for two accounts, SYS and SYSTEM.
I can log into isqlplus through http or sqlplus on the command line as SYSTEM, however it doesn't work for SYS.
When I try to log in as SYS it says:
ORA-28009: connection to sys should be as sysdba or sysoper
Well what is the proper method of creating a database. I imagine that I need to create a user account. Is this done while connected as SYSTEM? What are the first steps to take after installation, not that the database is installed correctly?

I can log in like that from the command line:
    [prompt]$ sqlplus '/ as sysdba'
    SQL>
However how do I log in as sysdba with the browser interface, for example:
    [prompt]$ galeon http://myaddress:7778/isqlplus
The browser interface asks me for:
    username:
    password:
    connection identifier:
When I try to enter sysdba as the user name, what password do I use? the SYS password doesn't seem to work. Yet I can purely log in as SYSTEM using SYSTEM's password and it works. I used my Global Database Name for the connection identifier.
Should I just create the new user from the console and log in as the new user from the browser interface? Maybe it's not possible to log in as sysdba using the browser interface because the browser want's passwords.
One more question. What is the significance of a SID? When/how do I use that?

    Hi ..
    The battery may need replacing.
Check the battery maximum cycle count > Mac notebooks: Determining battery cycle count
