we have 2 theories after showing the exception trace to folks who r more adept at managed code.
the first is related to the fact that our 3rd party dlls (I think entity framework is included in these) r older versions.  I don't want to discount this theory but we have some evidence already that this might not be true.
I hope I can do justice to the 2nd theory but will make it clearer and clearer as I get a better understanding.  I believe this is what Arthur was saying and I applaud his instincts.  They explained that .net is so "smart" that it detected
a change in namespace  (ie context as Arthur said) and purposely threw an exception 2 save us from ourselves.  The workarounds discussed were a bit over my head but I will continue trying to better understand it.  The fact that many of the methods
we call after reflection r now merged into one assembly seemed relevant to the discussion and possible workarounds.
this link came up in their discussion and I believe the bottom line here is that by qualifying assembly names further (in config?)r, a workaround is possible.
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/system.type.assemblyqualifiedname(v=vs.110).aspx  .
This link came up as well and has something to do with ILMerge and workarounds to ILMerge.
http://elegantcode.com/2011/04/02/dynamically-load-embedded-assemblies-because-ilmerge-appeared-to-be-out/  .
Finally, this link came up and seems to have something to do with embedding your dlls in one assembly without them losing their identity.

I'll post more here as we muddle thru this.

  • I have an apple tv 1st generation, and there is a setting for airtunes. can someone tell me what this is and how to use it?

I have an apple tv 1st generation, and there is a setting for airtunes. can someone tell me what this is and how to use it?

I've looked at that, but on my PC, "look for remote speakers connected with airtunes" isn't an option.
The only options I get are "prevent ipods [etc] from syncing automatically" , "warn me when [X %] of the data on this computer will be changed" and "forget all remotes". Its also got a list of backups I have saved, as well as a button to reset sync history.
When I am playing a song, the "airplay" button isn't even visible.
I am sure that the apple tv setting is on as well. Is there anything else you can help me with?

  • What is "netfront" and when to use it (or not)?

Just wondering and the Xen FAQ is not giving a satisfying answer: what does "type=netfront" in vm.cfg (regarding the vif) stand for and when do I have to use it (or not)?
Is it really needed? Under what circumstances? And only for specific types of virtual machines (HVM / PV)? Etcetera.
Please enlighten us if you know. TIA!

If the virtual machine is a hardware virtualized machine (fully virtualized), you can configure the virtual interface (VIF) type to be either ioemu or netfront.
The netfront driver is a paravirtualized driver which can be used with a paravirtualized machine, or with a hardware virtualized machine. The ioemu driver is a hardware virtualized driver, and can only be used with a hardware virtualized machine. Both drivers contain the BIOS and device emulation code to support hardware virtualized machines.
For hardware virtualized machines, the default is ioemu. For paravirtualized machines, the default is netfront.
After you configure the virtual interface type for one network interface card, all the network interface cards in the virtual machine will be set to the same type.

  • VPN. What's this and how to use it?

  • On-The-Go Playlist: what is it and how to use?

I've read the notice on the iPod when you select the On-the-Go playlist but don't know what it does and how to best use it. I've tried to add a song to it by holding down the center button while the song was playing but don't know how to check to see if it's been added. When I go to the On-the-Go playlist in the menu I only get the text instructions. Can someone describe how to add, and remove, songs from it or tell me if you can and how to use it?
    OT

EDIT: BAH! I posted too slow... but there is still some information about saving and clearing in there
Its for making a playlist while your 'on the go'. So you click and hold the middle button the selected song (or album) should flash... Then you go into the playlist menu (music>playlists>on-the-go) and use it like any normal playlist...
When there's songs on the playlist it gives you the option to save or clear at the end of the song list, you select either one and it'll ask for conformation.
It works in both manually sync and auto sync mode. But if you have it on auto sync the play list will be created in iTunes...
So I'm not sure why you don't see songs in it after yo assign them to it, try sending a whole album and then music>playlists>on-the-go the album songs should be listed.
As for reasons to use it well maybe while out and about you realise that you want to hear from two artists at the same time, Radiohead and Bowie, in a shuffle mode. You could make it a on-the-go playlist. Or there's a few podcasts you want to hear in order... so you go down the list and assign them to on-the-go.
Some people use the On the go to note songs that need to be looked at in iTunes later, maybe because its too quiet, badly imported or they don't understand how such a bad song found its way onto the iPod.
Once you save it if you try and put more songs to it, 'on-the-go-1' will be created.
    -hope this helps

  • Bank Transaction Codes and Transaction Type Codes in Cash Management

    Hi All,
Can someone please let me know to which field we should populate the Bank Transaction Code in the ce_statement_lines_interface table.
    Is it TRX_CODE column ?
The problem i'm having is actually the default BAI2 mapping doesn't populate the bank transaction codes to this fild (TRX_CODE) when I try to upload the file generated by our bank.Insdead those are populated in the CUSTOMER_TEXT column.
The values populated in the TRX_CODE are the values to indicate whether its a credit entry or a debit entry ( “399” for credit transactions or “699” for debit transactions).
Please let me know where these 399 and 699 should be populated in the interface table as well?
    Thanks and Regards,
    MPH

Check your BAI mapping with statement data file. As far as I know (16,1) is the right line level mapping for trx code.

  • What is PKCS7 and how to use it?

Hi! I'm in a project in which I must send a file encrypted with a key that is also encrypted with a public key, the receiver must decrypt the key using his(her) private key, and then, using that decrypted key to in turn decrypt the file.
I've been told to use PKCS7 standard, but is not clear for me how it works, and how to use it. I use bouncycastle, and know that it has APIs to do something like this.
Any light will be greatly appreciated!

Look at the CMS functionality in the bouncycastle provider, in the bcmail distro. You can find some examples in the bcmail distro also. Maybe I'll post an example later.

  • What is WebAppsContext and where we used it?

    HI
    Please guide me on
What is WebAppsContext and whats its application Usage?
    Thanx

    Yes you are right
    See my previous reply....
When the user logs in to an OA Framework application, the OA Framework creates an AOL/J oracle.apps.fnd.comon.WebAppsContext object and a browser sessionbased cookie that together keep track of key Oracle Applications context information like the current responsibility, organization id and various user attributes (user name, user id, employee id and so on). The Oracle Applications user session is associated with a servlet session, however, it has its own life cycle and time-out characteristics. Thanks

  • What is mdworker and why is using so much of my CPU?

I've read earlier threads in which mdworker is mentioned or discussed but have not found an answer for my question. Actually, one post came close, but it was from a few years ago, and mentioned a tab on Activity Monitor that does not exist on copy.
So, the issue is that periodically my fan starts racing. I'm used to that happening when Time Machine is doing its backups, but recently I've noticed that it's happening even though Time Machine is not running. When I go to the Activity Monitor I see that mdworker is using a very high percentage of my CPU's capacity, way more than any other process.
I gather from scanning posts on earlier threads that mdworker is used by other processes, and that the problem may lie there. But I don't know how to identify the other processes or what to do when I find them.
    Help appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Eric Weir

Thanks. Can't see that anything is. However, in connection with another issue I'm having [Mail sends hanging up] I've been monitoring the console. In ~/Library/Logs/Sync/Tags.log I see numerous reports that look like this:
12:52:29: Mail Tags Spotlight Plugin initialized (mdworker)
These are occasionally broken up by more ominous looking records, such as this:
FAILURE: 21:17:15: Error when retrieving tags from path /Users/ericweir/Library/Mail/Mailboxes/1 priority/2 news.mbox/Messages/308064.emlx: Error Domain=NSPOSIXErrorDomain Code=2 UserInfo=0x10018d5e0 "The operation couldn’t be completed. No such file or directory" (mdworker)
    And this:
    10:34:22: Tags build 2096 started: 2011-05-02 10:34:22 -0400
    10:34:22: Spotlight plugin registered!
FAILURE: 10:34:22: The spotlight attribute kMDItemOMUserTags is not registered
FAILURE: 10:34:22: The spotlight attribute kMDItemOMUserTagTime is not registered
    10:34:23: Tag Query kMDItemOMUserTags == '*' executed
Tags is a tagging utility I checked out a couple months or so back that I decided not to use. I'm assuming the records in this log have reference to it. I still have the app installed. Might getting rid of it resolve the problem?
