For many its a dream , for others looking around, its a sign of becoming envious one of these days, what was it like for you when you got your first laptop, and what kind was it? What was the reaction of others around you when you had it out in public for the first time?

Was nice to be able to sit in the living room while browsing the net instead of having to be at the computer desk. Never cared what people thought when I had it outside. People who use electronics as a status symbol need to be smacked upside the head. I really cant stand it when people make it a point to let everyone around them know they are using a blackberry (or any other 'in' cell phone) and are now gonna text and email so and so. No one cares about your conversation so quit speaking so loud so everyone with 50' can hear you and for the love of God dont use speakerphone in public especially in a restaurant.
BTW first laptop was a HP Pavillion ze4315. Lasted 6 yrs before finally giving up the pooch.

If you can't remember your answers then if you have a rescue email address (which is not the same thing as an alternate email address) set up on your account then go to https://appleid.apple.com/ and click 'Manage your Apple ID' on the right-hand side of that page and log into your account. Then click on 'Password and Security' on the left-hand side of that page and on the right-hand side you should see an option to send security question reset info to your rescue email address.
If you don't have a rescue email address (you won't be able to add one until you can answer 2 of your questions) then you won't get the reset option - you will need to contact iTunes Support or Apple to get them reset.
e.g. you can try contacting iTunes Support : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page, then Account Management , and then 'Forgotten Apple ID security questions'
or try ringing Apple in your country and ask to talk to the Accounts Security Team : http://support.apple.com/kb/HE57
When they've been reset (and if you don't already have a rescue email address) you can then use the steps half-way down this page to add a rescue email address for potential future use : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5312 . Or, if it's available in your country, you could change to 2-step verification : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5570 -

You can choose which questions to answer. The answer does not have to have any basis in fact - the critical thing is to REMEMBER WHAT YOU SAID. If you decide to say your first car was a Bugattii Veyron, that is no problem, as long as you remember to answer Bugatti Veyron if the question is ever asked in the future.

If you didn't establish a rescue email address, you will need to call applecare support. Ask for account security to reset your security questions. After the advisor is able to verify your identity, they can reset your security questions.

What about the verification questions? the ones like "way was your first job?" or "your favorite teacher?" I just got a new iPod and forgot the answers to those questions, and need to change them.. not sure how, but I need to do that in order to download new stuff on my new ipod

If you have a rescue email address set up on your account then you can try going to https://appleid.apple.com/ and click 'Manage your Apple ID' on the right-hand side of that page and log into your account. Then click on 'Password and Security' on the left-hand side of that page and on the right-hand side you might see an option to send security question reset info to your rescue email address.
If you don't have a rescue email address set up then go to Express Lane and select 'iTunes' from the list of 'products' in the middle of the screen.
Then select 'iTunes Store', and on the next screen select 'Account Management'
Next choose 'iTunes Store Account Questions' or 'iTunes Store account security' (it appears to vary by country) and fill in that you'd like your security questions/answers reset.
You should get an email reply within about 24 hours (and check your Spam folder as well as your Inbox) -

Hey everyone! I have removed all but two charge-offs and am paying monthly payments on one of those(Springleaf). My credit score is still terrible....a whopping 505....but, by removing 4 charge-offs it brought it up 36 points. It was 469. Gotta start somewhere. Lol. I have been reading about the shopping cart trick and wanted to ask y'all what was your credit score at when you succeeded? I have two judgments that I will file a Motion to Vacate this fall when I have them paid in full. Thank you very much. :-)

I am an Oracle Developer and currently developing my own Website dedicated to Oracle, especially on the development tools. In my website I have a page dedicated to the history and development of the Oracle Developer tools, from SQL*FORMS 1,2,3,4 etc. to the Current Developer. What I want to know are the release dates of the first Windows based development tools by Oracle. I know that Forms 4 was the first Windows based GUI development tool Oracle released ( I think it was called Oracle CDE). But I don't know when it was released. Was it in 1993 or 1994? If you can tell me which month it would be even better and more accurate. I got to know through the Internet that Developer/2000 Version 1 was released in March/1995. Is this true? Any information on this would be greatly appreciated.

the first version of CE was 7.1. Followed by 7.11 and 7.20. But you have to be carefull. There was a netweaver release 7.0 which already included parts of the components shipped with CE (e.g CAF and WebDynpro). But these are different releases, so it is not possible to do an easy upgrade from NW 7.0 to CE 7.1

From the recording it sounds like there is no roadmap....and with Liquid rollout taking up the rest of the year, not much is going to change to the product until sometime in 2015. A list of options (below) was offered to the attendees of Max to poll on....I do hope the request for input from partners is going to be wider than that if it's going to influence development decisions.
1. Incremental fixed on core modules (evolutionary)
2. Start rewriting modules on top of REST APIs and open platform
3. Fix e-commerce - taxes, stripe, shipping etc
4. Visual e-mail marketing editor
5. Build a mobile app to enable end-users to manage their business from phone
6. Invest into InContextEditing
7. Online marketing features - A/B testing, advanced targeting, re-targeting
8. Uptime and infrastructure
I was glad to see the attendees voted strongly for e-commerce developments (50% - proving it's fallen way behind expectations), and intersted to see in the comments that many thought AWS hadn't offered any significant improvements, if anything it's been unreliable.
Ultimately it's still worrying that there is no mention of BC from the core Adobe presentations, and with a full BC site subscription being close to that of Creative Cloud, it's surprising that there is not more investment in BC...it seems a very small team (working incredibly hard no doubt, but still requiring the help of partners to explain and present the recent developments) and this is probably the main reason why things are moving so slow. There simply isn't resource.
I hope we'll see some better communication from BC on what's happening soon, and that a voting system can be anabled partner-wide to steer future developments.

What are your Refurb experiences?
Hi All. I noticed the good deals on refurbs on the late 2008/early 2009 MBP's now that the new line up has come out. These refurbs look like great deals. Good prices and you still get both the 9400m and 9600m GPU's.
My question is: Can anyone let me know about their experiences with Mac Refurbs? I have a late 2008 MBP and love it - I am trying to find out for a friend who is looking to make the switch to Mac.

M.I bought a 17 inch refurb a few years back. It came with an ill-fitting lid, missing the "K" in Macbook Pro, and had a scratch on it. Apple was shocked and quickly replaced the machine no questions asked.
The replacement had ENDLESS problems, but after 10 months, 4 logic boards, a kensington lock slot replacement, and a optical drive replacement all under warranty, I convinced them that they should just mail me a brand new machine for my troubles. They did. The new machine was 2 years newer and came with a "clean-slate" warranty that started again as if it were purchased.
I have just bought another refurb macbook pro (15 this time) and it has been lovely except for some graphics card, dual display, and sleep issues. However, this appears to be related to 10.5.7 software as opposed to a hardware problem as many are reporting such issues. Worst case, they will fix it for me under warranty or replace the machine.
In spite of my troubles I would recommend a refurbished machine because applecare is so fantastic. I just saved $1050 on this machine that even smells brand new! haha...
