Whats the best "FREE" webhost going around at present?

Hi all,
I have a organisation that is unable to pay a dime for their
web hosting and domain name registration but still want a website.
Just wondering if anyone can point me to a quality free hosting
service that allows for a custom domain name.
Any help would be great

ready for a real web site if they can't afford $12 year for a
domain name.
Ask your client which ISP (internet service provider) they
use. Many offer
free (albeit limited) shared web space with an internet
service account.
EarthLink, AOL, Verizon, ATT are a few that come to mind.
FWIW: The URL to a free web hosting account would look

Another option might be to set up a free www.blogger.com site
for them to
use for news and announcements.

I am sending out a small mov (DV) file to a a few dozen people (not clients as this is a free thing).
These people want to be able to convert this avi file down to a MP4 or other formats that will work fine on:
Mobile phones
Video frames
small portable data projectors
etc
What free video converter would you recommend to these guys?
I thought of AnyVideo Converter which is perhaps the most popular.
But I heard that AVC is dropping some features hoping people with upgrade to their pro version etc.
Han anyone got any comments on what free converter I can recommend to these people?
(These people will have Windows computers .... sorry ... :s )

I don't have any experience with Any Video and what it does with audio _ much less what it was doing for a 4 hour process. You could run it through MPEG Streamclip and change the sampling rate,

The following doesn't specifically mention PPC/Intel, but that doesn't mean there weren't critical vulnerabilities being exploited for PPC in 10.1.102.64. I wouldn't want to take the chance.

Plugins have special access to the system. However, there is still another problem apart from security: Mozilla is changing the environment and the technical requirements for how plugins interact with the system. These technical requirements are difficult to achieve with Mac OS X 10.4, and there are known graphical and compatibility bugs already. It is entirely possible that in the near future, extant PPC-compatible plugins will not function properly or at all.

Maybe I'm missing something obvious here, but what's the best way to move around in a zoomed in document?
The only method I've found so far is to drag with two fingers, which keeps resizing the document as it moves around.
No Hand Tool? No way to zoom to 100%? No way to Fill the Screen with the document?

Panning is being done with two fingers, i.e. you set two fingers down on the screen and then move them in the same direction.
You can also zoom out by moving the fingers in the opposite direction as when you zoomed in.

I prefer iDVD for image quality of the final slideshow but you can't have KB effect and can only have one type of transition per slideshow. You can have text and music, however. For what you want to do I agree with Terence that PhototoMovie is probably your best bet. It produces some fine quality movie clips. I only used it once quite a while ago so can't make a judgement on if it's easier than iMovie.

TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
