Please see System requirements | Acrobat family of products. Both Acrobat X and Acrobat XI are compatible with Windows 7.
(Other customers have been able to install and use Acrobat 8 and 9 on Windows 7, but that isn't a supported configuration.)

Ever since I've started using Windows 7 I've had issues with Firefox. It randomly crashes or becomes unresponsive, it slows to a crawl, Flash player crashes particularly if I have multiple videos or whatnot open at the same time, it sucks up *way* too much memory for what it's supposed to be doing, so on..Basically it acts like IE used to (not sure if it still does).
I recently did a fresh format and Windows 7 install and installed Firefox onto it. Literally the first thing the browser did was freeze. I've had similar issues on both Windows 7 Home and Windows 7 Ultimate. On XP things worked fine.
Reading on the internet I've seen that other people have similar problems. I'm assuming that there is something about Windows 7 that Firefox doesn't like or vice versa.
I'm wondering if anybody has had any luck hunting down a version of Firefox that wants to play ball. I'm currently using the latest version and it is pretty aggravating.

Note that there have been (JIT compiler related) crashes reported on Facebook and that a Firefox 18.0.2 version is considered to address this issue.

CS2 issues, best version of Photoshop to use with AGS?, workarounds?

It looks like there's some compatibility issues with AGS and CS1/CS2. What's the best version of Photoshop to use with AGS, and like everyone asks, anyone know of an update coming?
My problem btw is that I'm generating many .gif images from 1 source .psd file, and the text alignment for horizontal left/right is not true to the original. The shift is off the canvas. Only center alignment stays true.
My .psd file is only a background layer and a type layer. I once was able to save the .psd in ImageReady and output correctly, but that happened only once and wasn't able to replicate the results.
Anyone know of way to preserve text alignment?

Thanks for the response Bob. I'm going to try and track down Photoshop6 and give that a go. Just to fill this log up with more info, I thought I'd past this response which I wrote to someone else. Btw, I heard a rumor that Adobe may be releasing an update to AGS in the spring. Do you you know anything about that?

Thanks for getting back to me. With AGS, our goal is to produce about 250k unique images based on a customers first name, which we will then merge into an email. We're able to produce the images using our data and technology, where just not able to maintain the accuracy of the intended creative. Below is a PSD which contains 2 layers, 1 text layer with effect and 1 solid color layer...

Instead, the text layer shifts off the canvas far to the left. On right alignment, I get the same results, just far to the right. Center alignment works fine. I didn't know if we should be keying in any additional commands to get this to line up right? Would Photoshop6 resolve this issue?

Get rid of Norton a/k/a Symantec. It is one of the worst pieces of trash you can install on a Mac.
You do not need any additional anti-virus software than is already designed into OS X to protect your Mac against malware. I assume you paid enough for your iMac and that's part of what you paid.
If you use Windows, or are concerned about harboring viruses that target Windows, or care about friends who use Windows, then get ClamXav. It's in the App Store and it is free.
Since friends don't let friends use Windows, I have no use for it.

I just loaded CUPS version 7.0(8) and was not sure of the best version of CUPC to use on the client/
I saw there is a engineering release for CUPC 7.1.1a but I can find the reedme they mention that talks about specific fixes in that version.
I also downloaded CUPC version 7.1.2 and 7.0.2 just in case.

I would go for the latest 7.1(2), if TAC identifies an existing defect it would require an upgrade anyways as no fixes will be provided for those older releases. So not really a point in starting off with those old releases for an initial deployment. For that same reason you may want to load 7.0(9) on CUP. Both CUP 7.0(9) and CUPC 7.1(2) are fully tested releases and not engineering specials.

In terms of ease of setup and use, tools to view info in the database, and least difficulty in
running with Kodo, what is the best open source database to use? I'm use to using Oracle and
SQLPlus. I need to use an open source DB for a learning environment, and I'd like your informed
opinion.

I have been using postgresql 7.1 with Kodo for a while with mostly positive results, and currently
have it deployed with Kodo 2.2.3. I prefer it to mysql because its feature set is a little richer,
and supports transactions natively. My experience with mysql (without jdo - I haven't tried it with)
is good, but there were little things missing in mysql 3.x, e.g. the ability do do a join in a
DELETE statement.
BTW, there are some severe problems somewhere in the 2.2.4 release with postgresql if you intend to
eventually deploy on it. It also apparently has some problems invoking postgresql's indices, making
it a little less than optimal. But as a learning environment, it's what I'd recommend.

Whats the best way to manipulate data using a Form ??

I have a few forms and basic navigation and data manipulation I find are rubbish - cos I am rubbish at making it any better.
I have a customer form (layout style of form) and table, I set up 2 buttons (enter_query & execute_query) to retrieve specific details based on customer ID input by the user. If the specified ID is for the wrong customer I want a button or buttons that will navigate through the IDs one by one until the right customer is found. If it was a tabular form I could do it but can I manage this if the form is not ?
Once the data is retrieved what is the best way to manipulate and save it ? Can I create a button that has PL/SQL code to UPDATE that particular record or do you guys and girls use the SAVE icon ?
Finally, I can't work out how to get the right side of the form displayed it seems to miss off an inch or 2. The canvas editor shows the form properly, the window size is just a smidge bigger than the canvas. When the form is run, how can I make the display area for the R/H/S bigger ?

Sorry - I had to read up on what a base table block was.
I think I am. In this particular form I have one block - a customer block which has its items pulled in from the customer table, no problems there, it works fine.
My problem is I need to make it as user friendly as possible, if the user inputs the wrong customer ID (or does not know their name) I want them to be able to scroll through the customer list using an up or down button.
When do you have the commit_form statement run, (the OK button) after every change or after a block of changes ? Commit writes the changes to the database giving other users access to that data right ?! How often should it be used ?
