Given that the file is selected then the next possibility is that you're exporting two files with the same name. When you do this the export breaks down as the second file would overwrite the first. Check the filenames.

How did you import from iPhoto? If you saw the Import panel with raw -jpeg pairs, then you probably did not import your iPhoto library as library, but as files, and then you will see plenty of duplicates - previews, thumbnails, originls, edited versions. If that should be the case, it would be better to delete the import from iPhoto and to import your iPhoto library again, but this time using "File > Import > Library".
Only that would require compatible versions of iPhoto and Aperture. What are your Aperture and iPhoto version numbers?

My steam won't launch ever since I updated to Yosemite I don't know what is going on.

It may well be a driver issue but considering the loading: Xorg trying to load different drivers is somewhat normal. @cafe you can see that these are autoconfigured by X above the loading in the log:

As long as one of the drivers gets loaded, which it apparently does the failing of the others is fine.

Copying pics from iphoto says can't copy, photo is busy????

Sometimes when I try to copy photos from iphoto to my external hard drive, it comes up with the message 'cannot copy to this location because one or more of the pictures is busy' what does this mean and how can I change it? It happens quite randomly and if I delete the pic or change the name of the pic i'm trying to copy, it will choose another pic to be busy.....what am I doing wrong? it's infuriating. WHat's more, there is nothing about it in David Pogues 'missing manual'. Am I the only one at a loss when it comes to finding solutions to problems that seem so simple?????

*It is strongly advised that you do not move, change or in anyway alter things in the iPhoto Library Folder as this can cause the application to fail and even lead to data loss. There is no need for you to ever enter this folder. There are no user serviceable parts there. Period.*
A Note about the iPhoto Library Folder:
In this folder there are various files, which are the Library itself and some ancillary files. Then you have three folders
Originals are the photos as they were downloaded from your camera or scanner.
(ii) Modified contains edited pics, shots that you have cropped, rotated or changed in any way.
(iii) Data holds the thumbnails the the app needs to show you the photos in the iPhoto Window.

No. The Finder is a File Organiser, iPhoto is a photo organiser. The point is that you let iPhoto look after the files and you organise, edit, whatever in the iPhoto Window - without reference to the files.
To delete pics from iPhoto and the HD, put them in the iPhoto trash and empty it, that's all.

You don't, you have different versions - as detailed above. There is no way to stop iphoto from preserving your original file. If you don't want this use another application.
There are many, many ways to access your files in iPhoto:
For 10.5 users: You can use any Open / Attach / Browse dialogue. On the left there's a Media heading, your pics can be accessed there. Apple-Click for selecting multiple pics.
To upload to a site that does not have an iPhoto Export Plug-in the recommended way is to Select the Pic in the iPhoto Window and go File -> Export and export the pic to the desktop, then upload from there. After the upload you can trash the pic on the desktop. It's only a copy and your original is safe in iPhoto.
This is also true for emailing with Web-based services. If you're using Gmail you can use THIS
If you use Apple's Mail, Entourage, AOL or Eudora you can email from within iPhoto.
If you use a Cocoa-based Browser such as Safari, you can drag the pics from the iPhoto Window to the Attach window in the browser.
Or, if you want to access the files with iPhoto not running, then create a Media Browser using Automator (takes about 10 seconds) or use THIS
Other options include:
1. *Drag and Drop*: Drag a photo from the iPhoto Window to the desktop, there iPhoto will make a full-sized copy of the pic.
2. *File -> Export*: Select the files in the iPhoto Window and go File -> Export. The dialogue will give you various options, including altering the format, naming the files and changing the size. Again, producing a copy.
3. *Show File*: Right- (or Control-) Click on a pic and in the resulting dialogue choose 'Show File'. A Finder window will pop open with the file already selected.
You can set Photoshop (or any image editor) as an external editor in iPhoto. (Preferences -> General -> Edit Photo: Choose from the Drop Down Menu.) This way, when you double click a pic to edit in iPhoto it will open automatically in Photoshop or your Image Editor, and when you save it it's sent back to iPhoto automatically. This is the only way that edits made in another application will be displayed in iPhoto.
Again, stay out of the iPhoto Library in the Finder, and remember everything you need to do can be done via the iPhoto Window - and if you can't figure out how to achieve something, post here or even check the Help.

Don't know what's going on.

Okay. The other day my iPod froze so just I reset it. Then when I turned it on again the apple appeared and then after that a folder with an "!" appeared and this kept repeating but then eventually turned off.
So now I hooked my iPod up the computer to see if the songs would upload back on it, but it kept doing the apple and then folder thing. Every once in while the "do not disconnect" would show up but then it would just go back to the apple - folder thing. Every once in a while I saw a battery with an "!" which I'm guessing it means no battery even though the iPod is hooked up to the computer.
Does anybody know what the heck is going on or if I can fix it?
Also I'm guessing that me not being able to update my iPod is a contributing factor (because our freaking security thing wouldn't allow me to download updates). But now I think I figured out a way to update it but my iPod is freaking out.

Make sure you have all updates installed, run Disk Utility and repair permissions.
Otherwise if that does not help, and you are using the factory install of Tiger, I would recommend backing up your files & doing a custom reinstallation.

I have no words to explain what is going on with my computer. Its very hard to explain so here is a screenshot of the problem

To take a screenshot hold ⌘ Shift 4 to create a selection crosshair. Click and hold while you drag the crosshair over the area you wish to capture and then release the mouse button. You will hear a "camera shutter" sound. This will deposit a screenshot on your Desktop.
If you can't find it on your Desktop look in your Documents or Downloads folder.
When you post your response, click the "camera" icon above the text field:
This will display a dialog box which enables you to choose the screenshot file (remember it's on your Desktop) and click the Insert Image button.
⌘ Shift 4 and then pressing the space bar captures the frontmost window.
⌘ Shift 3 captures the entire screen.
Drag the screenshot to the Trash after you post your reply.

right click on a video and go to settings (flash settings), disable hardware acceleration and see if that fixes it.

WoW, I don't think I've ever seen SOOO many topics posted for the same issue.
After filtering through many messages, I decided to post here.
When I do what you suggested; select play from within iPhoto, select the music playlist I want, and click "Save Settings," and then go into FrontRow and run the iPhoto slideshow, everything works fine. The problem is, the settings don't stick. The next time I go back into FrontRow and run the slideshow, it reverts back to the original FrontRow slideshow settings. I have to repeat the above sequence from within iPhoto EVERYtime I want to run the slideshow from FrontRow.
So, does anyone know how to keep the settings???

Firewire conflict? aka I don't know what's going on!

Running OS 10.4.9, QT 7.1.5, and FCP 5.1.4 on a PowerMac Dual 2Ghz G5 with a LACIE 500GB FWD and Sony DSR-11 attached via firewire.
Brand new problem here: When I have the LACIE drive mounted and try and use my DSR-11 to 'View External Video' (over NTSC Firewire), I get the spinning beach ball that won't go away until I power down my DSR-11. If I don't have the LACIE mounted, I can 'View External Video' via firewire, but that doesn't help when my media for my project is on the LACIE. I've never seen this before.
Another weird thing about it: I tried emptying the trash with both the LACIE and DSR-11 powered on. One of the items in the trash was from my startup disk (FCP preferences file) and one was from the LACIE drive (a QT media file). I got the spinning beach ball in the Finder and the trash stalled during emptying. I powered down the DSR-11 and it instantly finished emptying the trash.
Any suggestions? I already trashed preferences... Not totally sure this is even a FCP problem, but this seemed the best place to post.

Well, the main thing was that the DSR-11 was registering in the System Profiler on the laptop. Just mentioned iMovie because that was the only app on that computer that utilizes the DSR-11 and wanted to point out that it was functioning with software.
The bigger news is: I finally got everything up and operational on the G5. DSR-11 connected to rear bus and fucntioning properly - LACIE connected to fron bus and functioning properly. Both devices appear in the System Profiler.
I think the issue was that the Bizarro World was overlapping too much with the Real World. A bunch of disconnecting/reconnecting and 5 or so restarts seem to have fixed whatever problem there was. Thanks for all help - sorry I can't offer a clear cut solution (I think this was just one of those "deadline-based" problems - you know: the ones that appear out of nowhere whenever you have a tight deadline and you're already behind
