When I click on a picture to enlarge it I only get a second to see the picture and then it is covered with a film
Not exactly a film but a page that covers the page I was on. I can see through it. There will be no enlarged picture.
Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
* Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

If it does work in Safe-mode then disable all extensions and then try to find which is causing it by enabling one at a time until the problem reappears.
* Use "Disable all add-ons" on the [[Safe mode]] start window to disable all extensions.
* Close and restart Firefox after each change via "File > Exit" (Mac: "Firefox > Quit"; Linux: "File > Quit")
In Firefox 4 you can use one of these to start in <u>[[Safe mode]]</u>:

* Hold down the Shift key while double clicking the Firefox desktop shortcut (Windows)

Hello,
I am using version iPhoto'11. Since I installed this version I experience some difficulties. After importation of pictures I can see the pictures under Library/Pictures but not under Library/Events. However I can see the event with the event title, the number of pictures and the pictures itselve as small thumbnails. BUt ounce I want to open the event to see the pictures in full screen the event title annouces 0 pictures and no pictures are visble anymore to mee. I have checked if the pictures are marked as hidden and this is not the case. What's going wrong. All the other events are visible in a normal way.
The albums with the same pictures into them are visible.

RafMake a temporary, duplicate copy of the library and try the two fixes below in order as needed:
Fix #1
1 - delete the iPhoto preference file, com.apple.iPhoto.plist, that resides in your Home/Library/Preferences folder.
2 - delete iPhoto's cache files that are located in your Home/Library/Caches/com.apple.iPhoto folder.
3 - reboot, launch iPhoto and try again.
NOTE: If you're moved your library from its default location in your Home/Pictures folder you will have to point iPhoto to its new location when you next open iPhoto by holding the the Option key. You'll also have to reset the iPhoto's various preferences.
Fix #2
Launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys depressed and follow the instructions to rebuild the library. Select options #1, #2 and #6.

when I try to open facebook it keeps telling me to put password in and then says"can't communicate with server. Use to work fine
I had a very similar problem with using the Facebook App. I couldn't post a photo because the "Password was incorrect". When I went to input it, the email address it had as a Username was also incorrect. I placed a call to Apple Support (I'm within the free 90 days of phone help). They walked me through a few different attempts to fix it.
I ended up Restoring the iPad altogether. Set up as "New". Download the Facebook App. Set that up. Make sure you can post status updates, post photos and attach locations to these. When all that is up and running well, select what you do and don't want to be sync'd to your iPad. Initiate the Sync.
You'll be up and running then. Hope this helps...

Happens when try to open any gmail msg, older saved or new received msgs.
I had the same problem and finally noticed it had to do with AdBlock Plus. When Adblock is switched off, the messages were viewed correctly.

PURE MICROSOFT ACCOUNT NO OTHER ACCOUNT LINKING.I had to change the primary mail of that account.I was told "no can do" by skype support.I found that if I went to account settings and clicked on the link on the line below the one that said "MICROSOFT etc" (labeled something along the lines of "TV or Device") I got the opportunity to set the password of the "live:username" account (WHICH YOU COINCIDENTALLY HAVE TO DO IF YOU WANT TO USE SMART TVs ETC).Once that was done, I COULD SUCCESSFULLY DO WHAT SKYPE SUPPORT SAID WAS IMPOSSIBLE- I could change the primary mail address. once that was done, and NOT BEFORE, I linked the account to a facebook account as well, just to be sure I have more than one way to access the skype account. Hundreds of my iPhoto pictures will not be copied and will not show when I double-click on them. When I do in iPhoto an exclamation surrounded by a triangle appears. Though I can see the picture in the small tiles below it will not expand. I also cannot attach any of these pics into an e-mail or into any other file. I have already went through all 3 Repair options and when that did not solve it went through a complete Rebuild. Any Help?! Any Suggestions on how to fix this?! I have spent almost 2 days now going through all of the published help.
I have backups going back 6 months - I have not had the real need to check every album before - but - all of my backups also have this same problem.The triangle with the ! indicates that the connection between the thumbnail and the orginal is missing - this can be caused by many things including database corruption and user action emoving the originals photos on urpose or by accident
If the database is corrupted then rebuilding is the solution - backup and depress the option and command keys, launch iPhoto and rebuild your database -- if the iPhoto rebuild does not cure the problem then download iPhoto Library manager and use its rebuild command which creates a totally new library leaving the existing one untouched
If you have deleted the photos then you need to start over with a new library and import the photos you have not deleted into it
You can select one of the problem photos and use the reveal original in finder commander (file menu) to see if the original is there - if it is a finder window will open showing it

I have photos on a cd which I'm trying to open . If I click on them I can see the picture in the preview, but when I double click it doesn't recognise the picture. They are all in .jpg format. Tried copying them but it said some data cannot be read. The files exist but I just can't seem to view them
Select one and hit the Space bar to view it in QuickLook. Use the forward arrow keys to move from file to file. If the file can't be viewed in the QuickLook mode then the file is damaged and probably can't be copied or moved.
You could try a photo file recovery application like MediaRECOVER which can scan the memory card and tell you what files, if any, can be recovered before you have to purchase it.

I can see the pictures in Events in iPhoto, but I can't open them. When I right click on an Event it just says Edit, but won't open all the pictures in Events. It used to open, but something is wrong. I would appreciate any assistance. Thank you.

Occasionally, some of the image borders turn dark grey (medium grey is the default) and then random other images cannot be opened with a double click. They only open when selected using the arrows on the keyboard. They also cannot be moved to collections. Anyone have a solution for this?
When you say "could not be opened"- what are you referring to? A double click of the mouse should view the clicked image in Loupe view- the same as pressing [E] on the keyboard for an enlarged view. (And a second double-click will take you back to library grid view.)
To "open" an image in the Development module requires you to select the image then press [D] or click on the [Develop] button.
When you say "could not be ...moved" -what are you referring to? Are you trying to move an image file from its place in a folder to another folder? Are you just wanting it in a collection? When you drag an image to a collection you are only placing a link to the image in the collection- not actually moving any file. The image will stay exactly where it is in its original folder and will remain as a thumbnail preview in the Library Grid view.
Are you having any "mouse" problems that may be changing its actions in LR ?
Do you see an exclamation mark on any image borders ?
Let's keep working on this. I am curious to see you find an answer.

In my MacBook Pro(10.7.5), finder is crashing after logging in. It is showing crash report with Relaunch option, when i click on Relaunch option finder is working properly but i am unable to see Top bar(Apple logo, Date and Wifi etc... bar). Even in safari address bar, TextEdit not accepting any text means when type something not showing up and also i am unable operate any thing from keyboard. Plz help me…..
One thing that you can try is installing a 'fresh' version of OS X Lion. Boot into your Recovery partition (holding down the command and R keys whilst booting) and elect to install OS X from the Recovery screen. You need not erase your hard drive and you should not lose any of your data.
Oh, and just as a precaution, I would use Disk Utility, once you're in Recovery mode, to verify your hard drive before trying to install the OS again.

On my MacBook Pro, sometimes when I click to close tabs in Safari the button will not work. I have to click on some other part of the screen and then it will. This happens in other programs like Word/Excel for changing font, etc. Solution/Suggestions?

When I try to use my TWC App on my iPad2, the sound is about 15 seconds off from the picture. This only happening on my iPad, not my phone or my computer. TWC said it's an Apple issue. Is there a fix?

I recently updated my itunes and for a few days it worked fine. Now when I click on my desktop icon for itunes I'm getting a message box that says "The file "itunes library .itl" cannot be read because it was created by a newer version of itunes. Any help on how to open my itunes?
Tell us some version numbers please, of your Mac OS versions and iTunes versions on both computers (two eMacs yes?).

I am trying to configure my SCXI-1540 w/1315 card for excitation voltage and frequency using MAX - but it is not giving me that option when I click on the card and then properties, am I looking in the wrong place?
I have LabVIEW Express 7.0 Professional - SCXI-1000 Chassiss - along with SCXI-1112, and SCXI 1520/1314 - cable to the PCI-6052E is attached to the 1520 card.

I tried to set up the system as DAQmx.
I had MAX auto-detect the set-up - and it recognized all the cards - but did not select the 1315 accessory on the 1540 card - I had to do that manually - but in the configuration section I would select the accessory and it would deselect itself. I had to get out of the set-up and then right click on the 1540 card and click on the "Accessories" tab and select the 1315 terminal block that way.
It didn't seem right that the system should behave that way, but I pressed onward.
I then tried to create a new DAQmx Task
When I create new DAQmx task and then click on Analog Input no "Position" Tab appears for me to select, all I get are:
Analog>>Voltage
Analog>>Temperature
Ana
log>>Strain
Analog>>Current
Analog>>Resistance
Analog>>Frequency
Analog>>Custom Voltage with Excitation
Do you think there might be something wrong with either my hardware or perhaps my configuration that is not allowing it to recognize the 1540/1315 in DAQmx?
I had included the system report of what programs I am using, etc. as attached file nireport.txt
After the DAQmx did not work I tried installing everything as Traditional DAQ and it did let me set-up the 1540 Card with Excitation Voltage and Frequency and gain - I then went in to the VI that I had built and tried to use the Express DAQ Assisant to read the channel that I am connected to on the 1315/1540 - when I try to use DAQ Assistant it gives me an error saying that "Device not available in NI-DAQmx. It is possible that the device is being use by traditional NI-DAQ"
Which I guess it is since both configurations are now set-up in MAX.
I would PREFER to use the DAQmx set-up, but I am confused as to WHY it won
't come up with
Analog input>>POSITION>>LVDT
When I try to create a new DAQmx task.

I dont get sound for videos, games and music but ringtone still works. When i press volume buttons on side of phone i only get the picture of the nell and no little dots underneath. This is on my iphone 4s and ipad. It happened at the same time.
Recurring theme with the 4s losing alerts except for the phone ringing. Most complaints seem to center on the 7.1 upgrade. The fix is dodgy, putting in a charger, playing a you tube video then pulling out the charger and wiggling it until you get the sound back. When you get the sound back, the volume buttons start to work again. Alternate solutions involve cleaning the docking port with a toothbrush, running a pick over the electrodes etc.
