When I click on the "new tab" button it does not open a new tab, how do I fix this?

Left clicking or right clicking on the new tab button does not open a new tab. Common fixes have been unsuccessful. I don't know what's wrong. It's a recent problem, and even though I'm using an older version of Firefox this hasn't been a problem before.

Try uninstalling the Ask toolbar and it should work again. There is a compatibility issue with the Ask toolbar and the current version of Firefox.

There are several ways in which an add-on can cause iTunes to act erratically, such as those listed below:
- Loss of iTunes functionality, such as the Visualizer.
- Distortion or irregularity in the iTunes interface.
- Slow performance.
- iTunes won't open or quits unexpectedly.
- You see an alert while syncing stating "... cannot be synced. A duplicate file name was specified."
If you notice any of the above symptoms or other unusual behavior, you can disable any plug-ins not manufactured by Apple by opening iTunes in Safe Mode. This is done by holding down the Option and Command keys (on Mac OS X) or holding down the Shift and Control keys (on Windows) while opening iTunes. If performed correctly, you should see the following dialog before iTunes finishes starting up:

The answer depends on a number of factors, such as the following:
If you have more than one email account, does this problem affect one, some, or all of your accounts?
Where did you last see this mail -- in your Inbox(es)? in some other folder(s) outside your Inbox(es)? somewhere else?
How old is the missing email -- yesterday? just before you got the new computer? over a week? over a month? over a year?
How are you reading email -- with the builtin Mail application? with some other mail-reading application? with a web browser?
How do you access your email on the server -- IMAP? POP? Exchange? web browser? other?
What version of OS X is on your new computer -- Mavericks (10.9.x)? Mountain Lion (10.8.x)?
Did you migrate your data and applications from your old computer when you set up your new computer?
For example, if the missing mail is the mail that was in your Inbox before you got the new computer, you are reading it with the builtin Mail via POP, and you failed to migrate data, then the mail was left behind on the old computer. The same would be true if the mail was in "On My Mac" mailboxes and you failed to migrate data.

I'm not sure if the area has been surveyed; it's a large group of apartment buildings about a within a couple miles of Dulles International Airport in Northern Virginia, so I would imagine that it probably has, but I'm not sure. How would I find out?
I understand that the Network Extender does not support LTE connections (I know there are two models, the 1x-only and 3g, both made by Samsung - I have the 3g model, SCS-2U01). I know that it can support a 3G data connection, but that should be irrelevant - I'm always connected to my wifi network in my apartment.
What's particularly vexing, however, is that both a Galaxy S4 and Galaxy Nexus in my apartment (the other lines on my account) do not seem to have this issue. While I haven't done so with the S4, the Nexus exhibits this problem when my SIM is in it - and again, this is a fresh SIM from just a few weeks ago.
I'm currently trying to disable Mobile Data when in the apartment to see if that will make it more stable. I'll post in a day or two with results from that.

On you iPad, force close all the Apps in the multitask window.
Follow these steps to force an app to close:
From the Home screen, click the Home button twice.
Tap and hold on the app.
When it starts to jiggle, tap the to close it on by one until all cleared
Now do a Soft reset of your iPad:
Hold both Home and Sleep button for around 10secs until you see the Apple logo then release. After it returns to Home screen, try your Apps again and see if this resolves the issue.

Unfortunately you've discovered too late how important it is to maintain an up-to-date backup of your iTunes library (and all other data of value). You could, before wiping the drive, have considered making use of a commercial data recovery service that could (albeit at considerable cost) have extracted your library from the hard disk, even if virus infected.
In the absence of that option, you will need to restore the content of your library from its original sources:
Depending on your location, you may be able to re-download any iTunes Store purchases that are still available on the Store
Likewise, most digital purchases from Amazon (including auto-rip copies of purchased CDs) should be available from the Amazon Cloud and via the Amazon Music application - the same may be true of other commercial sources for digital downloads

The specific situation that you describe regarding the music imported from your friend's external HDD suggests that either the source is badly organized and/or originates from a source other than iTunes (other media players may use alternative tags for information like artist, title, album, etc. that are not wholly consistent with how iTunes handle these). Do you have a mouse you can use to go to System Preferences and check the TrackPad and see that it is pairing and that the replacement batteries are good? There have been a few users who have had problems with suppossedly new batteries, turned out they actually were not strong enough to pair. If you cannot use a mouse, try a different set of batteries and see if that resolves the issue.
If that does not resolve it, take the TrackPad to an Apple store genius bar and have the techs test it to see that it is not defective.

Since i updated to the newest ITunes my phone does not automatically sync as it did before. I am not able to locate my pictures or music or apps to set to auto sync. I receive no message that tells when the phone was last backed up to ICloud. I have several songs on ITunes under ICloud that are in the waiting status. This is all confusing. I'm afraid at this point a backup can't be created anymore and the phone has been damaged too much by the water.
You'll have to get it replaced and use the latest existing backup you have.
