I have tried several times to redownload and keep getting the same message. what am I doing wrong...

I had itunes set up and working since i have had my iPhone and iPad. One day it asked to be updated, so i did. After it updated it stopped working because whenever i tried to open it it would say "this shortcut has either been deleted or moved would you like to delete this shortcut". This kept on happening so I uninstalled it and tried to reinstall it, but then comes my second problem. This is my main problem and i don't know how to stop it i have tried a disc clean up, De frag and trying to completely take everything to do with itunes off my computer, but it still doesn’t work. Apparently it's an itunes issue. I just tried to update and got the same issue. Called att to activate my iphone 4s and they say they can do the swap but apple is telling them itunes is down atm. So will have to wait

I was advised to unistall the old itune, which i did and then loaded the latest itune 10.5 i think. It dowloaded fine to a point and before finishing, it came up with the same message.

Okay ... try downloading and saving a copy of the iTunesSetup.exe to your PC from the Apple website:
http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
Now download a trial version of WinRAR:
http://www.rarlab.com/download.php
Open the iTunesSetup.exe with WinRAR, and try to run the standalone install of Apple Application Support from the AppleApplicationSupport.msi you find in there.
It works now BUT there are still problems. It is not allowing or recognizing my Cd/DVD player and i CANT burn. Looking still for this fix. -
for any more information, i am in South Korea right now, and i've tried both english and korean version to install on my computer.
it's a laptop from Asus, N61J. i'm using windows 7 and can't update the itunes- apparently need to download a new version, idk why they couldn't just let me update it through itunes. and so itunes have error as following picture. please help. i got a new iphone today and because of this stupid itunes i can't sync my iphone.. -_-found a solution in a different discussion.. thank god.

I just got a new computer with windows 7. Whenever I try to install itunes, I get an error message saying "There is a problem with the windows installer package, a program required for this install to complete could not be run. Contact your support personnel or package vendor." I tried to install other apple software, quicktime and safari, and I get the same error message. I extracted the itunes64setup file and can install the itunes file (which is just a shortcut, not the actual program) Bonjour, Apple Application support, quicktime, and Apple Mobile Device Support. I cannot install quicktime via http://www.apple.com/quicktime/download/ however.
I get the same error message when I try to install Apple Software Update through the extracted folder. Ive googled around and found people with with the same error have gone to their control pannel and repaired apple software update, which solved the problem. However, I cannot install the apple software update file, so it isnt in my add or remove programs, all the other files are. Not being able to install apple software update is preventing safari and itunes from installing. Any ideas or help would be apprectiated.REPAIR "apple software update" in programs in control panel. Then run the Quick time install package again.

Go to "control panel" then "add or remove programs". Highlight "Apple software update" Choose "change" click "Repair" This should do the trick. Then download and install iTunes 10.5 again.
