Please - gotta bump this because I'm really desperate to get this working.

My 1 year old -- ha! one month out of warranty -- iPhone 4 has been having a nearly identical problem over the past few days.
It started by dying completely so I had the battery replaced, thinking it was simply battery issue.
It then worked again for a moment but started doing exactly what you describe, going through a reset cycle (longer than 30 seconds but who's counting). And it felt quite warm.
Did hard reset, plugged into wall charger and MBP USB but the new battery wouldn't even get a full charge (a whopping 92% after nearly two days). It would even lose battery when plugged in if I opened an app. And all the while plugged in, if I left the phone on, it would cycle through these resets. So I turned it off to try to charge it.
Now suddenly, it's dead again. Totally black, and hard reset does nothing. Up until two days ago there was nothing wrong whatsoever with this phone! And I hadn't even installed a new app that could be the root of the issue. No idea whatsoever what caused this.
Any help would be much appreciated!! -

My problem started after installing "smartsync app" which is supposed to sync my phone with the profilepage photos of my friends in facebook. All my apps crashed after using them for awhile.While using my apps, they will black out after a little while and the phone returns to the starting page. I have removed the smartsync app but my phone still behaves the same way. At the same time the dates that accompany my messages changed to another language. How can these be rectified?
Eek. Sounds like something in the app caused some serious software issues. You can try a hard reset, but I'd imagine you're probably going to have to do an iTunes restore to get it running right again.

I recently downloaded Lion and since have had nothing but problems with my new i-Mac. My problem with the App store is only one issue. Has anyone out there had any trouble with their components after installing Lion 10.7??????? After several hours on the phone with a tech my situation isn't any better. I think the tech is sick of talking with me. He was supposed to call me today and the phone never rang. He told me he was working on something to repair my problems and needed to talk with engineers. How long could that take???? If it wouldn't hurt the person who gifted me this i-Mac, I would give it back.

I'm creating a movie with a new music track and follow the appropriate steps as in the manual:
Choose format options for the bounced audio file, and click OK.
In the dialog that appears, enter a name and target folder for the movie, and click Save.Another dialog opens, allowing you to choose which of the original movie’s audio tracks should be used in the new movie.
Select the audio track that you want to retain in the new movie, and click OK.
The QuickTime movie is exported to the selected folder; it contains all selected audio tracks, plus the part of your project that is encompassed by the start and end points of the QuickTime movie.
However, this final dialog option 'select the audio tracks of movie to keep in new movie' has disappeared!!! For some reason Logic goes straight to bouncing without the offer to remove the original audio. My final movie ends up with both sets of audios. Any ideas please???

JuanIt is still there and Logic did not remove it.
Did you do some trouble shooting.
Try to load a different video (with different codec) to see if it is video file related
Try a new (empty) project to see if it is project related
Try to remove Logic preferences (move the original back if this wasn't the problem because the file contains other info you might not want to lose)

When I export to QT movie, the video on a slide doesn't play and no playbac
I have a .mov file as content on one of my slides. when i play the file within keynote it works beautifully. the video plays as directed (either on click or automatically, depending how i set it up), and when the mouse hovers over the movie you get playback controls. When i export the presentation to QT, it no longer works. HELP!! i need to send thsi file out and now it looks like i'll have to spend all night recreating it in with a different application!
I have checked the box for embedding teh movie files. not sure what else to do.
Any suggestions??
Thanks muchok -- i think i get it now:
it can't be set to Hyperlinks only (as that disabled the automatic playing of hte video, and it didn't recognize the 'click to play' option either).
and there's no controls for playback at all.
looks like if i want to give it the look of a still image that will play on click, i actually need one page with only the image and a link to 'play video' which actually takes you to a different page with the video that automatically begins to play (at least i'll try that next.)

A week or so ago I reacted to an Apple update message. The update completed and this left me with a couple of problems. When the imac started up there was a Glims message on screen telling me that the computer had not closed entirely and asking if I wanted to allow glims to reopen previously open files. I ticked yes and Safari froze immediately. This would happen even after a restart, Safari would start up with the Glims message on my Yahoo mail account. Then whether I clicked on the Glims message or not one of various adverts would appear and Safari would immediately freeze. I managed to override this by quickly entering Safari extensions and subscribing to an advertisement blocking programme. Safari now worked without problems but the blocking programme created other problems mostly with iphoto. The eBay uploaded photos were minute. So I decided to remove the Safari blocking extension and all seemed fine for everything except iphoto which now freezes every time I try to upload eBay photo's using the eBay standard upload problem. Yesterday I changed to the other BASIC upload option and that did work. Thought it might be a one of glitch on the Standard but obviously not. Anyone's help would be appreciated. I note that at least one other member is experiencing the same or similar problem today.
Sorry I am 70 and not very computer literate. Please explain in simpler terms. Perhaps I should have said Apple update for my iMac. It did however include an iphoto update. My imac is 3 years old, I also have an ipad 2 and iPhone and both received iOS 7 updates around the same time.

Hi I'm using Logic 9 on a G5 IMac 10.7.4 2.5 GHZ Intel Core i5 Lion.
I'm trying to Export a new audio file that I've recorded to a movie file which is VTS_01_1.dv. (replace the old audio). The old file is VTS_01_1.aif.
That's fine I can do that but when I play the video I get both old and new audio files playing.
I went into Video preferences in Logic and muted the soundtrack as well as turned down the volume, but didn't help.
Can anyone off any advice on this.

Try leaving the audio selected...
Also, where are your selection markers? ie the length markers? These are on the top ruler, and are the left locator, and the right locator. they must select the length of audio to export too. In the Transport, they have bar indicators as to where they are.

When I export audio to movie and I open the new quicktime file there is music I didn't write as well as my own music. In the manual, after I choose the desired format options for the bounced audio file, and I enter a name and target folder for the movie a dialog is supposed to appear allowing me to choose which of the original audio tracks should be included in the new movie. That dialog box doesn't appear on my computer.
Try this.
Bounce out your music from logic.
Import Quicktime movie into the old i-movie (haven't tried the new one yet.) from here, you can extract the original audio.
Import your new music into i-movie, and lay it against the picture.
Export your new movie. -

I am trying to add music to some video footage taken with a digital camera. I was unable to extract the audio from the footage onto my arrange window using import audio from movie. I received a message saying "no active extrac
table audio to be found" (though there is audio in the footage). Then when I exported audio to movie I found that the movie was unchanged, the soundtrack I had created did not play and the original audio remained as well.

I am soon to start working on a project with a film student friend of mine. I was literally tearing my hair out for two days figuring I had done something wrong and it turns out that this problem seems to be part of an apple conspiracy to hush up this flaw. That and the fact apple seem barely contactable when there is an issue with one of their problems only adds to the frustration. I expected more I have to say.

Hi, when I 'export audio to movie' in Linear PCM format the audio from the original video plays along side the music I have written in Logic X. The audio track from the video is muted apart from where I've used some of the original audio on a new track. How do I get it so that just my music plays along with the video?

This is a known bug in Logic on the intel macs. We're all hoping this will be fixed in the next version!
There are a few workarounds...
bounce the audio for your movie. Open it in Quicktime pro. Open the movie in QT pro and you can join the movie and audio with a bit of trial and error.
Easier perhaps, is to use imovie to import the movie and audio separately and then export the movie from there. That's what i normally do.
As i said, it's a workaround - but it's better than nothing!

I have done a surround audio track for a short movie in Logic x and now that I want to export audio to movie the dilouge that opens does not show the preset popup menue while in the manual it has a creen shot that shows this menue in the same dilougue.

When I try Option>Movie>Export Audio to movie It rendereds but doesn't actully put the music into the video. Worked in 7.1 doesn;t work in 7.2.1 any plans on fixing this?
Indeed, thats what I do, but the time saving and
simiplicity of the 'Export audio to movie..."
function puts it at the top of the 'features that
really should work' for us composers to picture!
Hopefully it will be fixed soon with an update.
It's not broken. To be sure I went and tried it myself
and it worked fine. I did not even have to set the
locators, which I thought I would have to. I just dropped
the movie on a project and went to the menu. It did bring
up some dialog box I had not seen before. Something about
adding the tracks to use. It only showed track 1 but since I
could not figure out how to add the tracks I just hit OK and
it rendered all of them. Hope you get yours back up.
